The news has been pretty rough lately. So I really appreciate the pick-me-up of knowing that Seth Green was working on a TV show starring his Bored Ape NFT, for no apparent reason except to demonstrate that owning the NFT gives him the right to do that, but then someone phished him and stole his $200,000 NFT, and sold the NFT to someone else who doesn't want to sell it, and that may legally prevent Seth Green from making his entire dumb TV show, because with NFTs possession is ten-tenths of the law, so now Seth Green is trying not to look desperate as he slides into this rando's DMs trying to cut a deal.

The White Horse Tavern in Newport, Rhode Island, in the early 20th century and in 2017. It was built sometime prior to 1673, and by 1687 it was in use as a tavern. In the early 1700s it was operated by former pirate William Mayes Jr., and it remained in use as a tavern until 1895, when it was converted into a boarding house.

The building was eventually restored in the 1950s, and it is once again a tavern. It is said to be the oldest restaurant in the United States, although it has not been in continuous use throughout its entire existence.

so like if Hob were in another country or clear across the continent would he just like *blam poof* and be at the pub. like is he teleported there. or does he have like some kind of Siri/Alexa/Cortana voice in his head that goes 'hey, dumbass. you gotta be at the pub in like 2 weeks get to stepping. don't wanna miss your little date meeting.'

For the first time ever, I missed my train home. I suppose it was bound to happen eventually. I did miss spending my nights in this city, though. And it’s only fitting that I ended up at White Horse Tavern. I came to the city to get away from home for a bit only to find myself back in “White Horse”…. Irony is funny that way. lol

I am really confused why Seth Green didn’t just...hire CHARACTER designers for his show, rather than just use the designs of NFTs he bought.

Thing is, its not a bad premise, it sounds like a slice of life Roger Rabbit cartoon, I’d be down if not for the fact that its attached to the gimmicky art scammery that is NFTs. 

Seriously, Seth, ask me to design your main character, I can make a character JUST as ugly as bored ape! Also I’d make you a tiger, as you were born the year of the tiger.

Glass into Sand - a 1989 Dreamling plot bunny

Hob is sitting at the White Horse bar in 1989. Break up music is, as we know, playing on the juke box. Hob laments being stood up. The sympathetic bartender pours him another drink. The camera zooms in on the glass in Hob's hand.

But instead of showing Dream in his cage, the glass shatters. All the glass in the entire tavern shatters. Windows, framed pictures, bottles in people's hands, glasses on people's lips, cabinets, the juke box, they all shatter in a single second.

Then there is noise - screams of shock and pain. The shards of glass are small - tiny slivers - and the burst was short lived. Most people were protected by their clothing. But there is blood on people's hands, arms, and faces. One man is shaking because there is glass in his eyes. The bartender doesn't know where to step in his search for a phone.

Hob barely feels shards in his palm. Because his stranger is there. He's collapsed, naked, on the floor in front of Hob. He's curled up in the fetal position, facing away from Hob, but it is definitely him.

Hob nearly lunges for him. "My friend. Are you alright?" Hob touches his shoulder. He's so thin. Was he always this thin?

His stranger, eyes screwed shut, only groans quietly, like he can't quite figure out how to open his mouth.

Hob quickly pulls his jacket off and tries to tie it sideways around his stranger's bony hips to afford him some sense of modesty. The ground is completely covered in glass, and Hob scrapes his knuckles up. He's worried about damage to his friend's exposed skin, but all the glass that touches him seems to just dissolve into the lightest of sand. Hob will have to wonder about that later.

People don't seem to hardly notice them except to move around them in their hurry to get out of the destroyed tavern.

"My friend," Hob asks, "are you awake? Can you stand?"

"Hob?" rasps the quietest of voices. Hob has never been so relieved to hear it. "Did I make it?"

"Oh god. Yes love, yes, you're here. Come on, let's get you up."

Hob helps him to stand and half supports, half carries him out the back door. Glass crunches underneath Hob's shoes the whole way but turns into a trail of near-white sand beneath his friend's bare feet.

Hob spends the next days or maybe weeks helping Dream recover. He brings him tea, clothes, food. He's desperately curious, but Dream barely says more than a few words the entire time. But any glass he touches turns to sand and disappears. Eventually Dream regains enough strength to return to the Dreaming.

no because in the comics hob and dream meet on time right. dream is a little late but he's still there in 1989. but the show takes place in 2022, so dream has to miss their 1989 date. can someone please explain to me why they had to have the white horse tavern close down and then have hob wait in the new inn, which he may or may not have had a hand in building, for 33 years? and by some stroke of luck, he's there on the day that dream randomly comes to find him? huh? please explain, neil gaiman, please explain...
