peter’s the type of guy to throw about the rebuttal “you don’t know me” but really you would know everything there is to know about him by having one conversation with him. he grew up in madison avenue in new york with two laywers for parents and way too much money in his trust fund 

with that being said peter kind of grew up as an outlier in his family. while the rest of his family members are more proper and reserved, peter thrives off chaos. always has as a child , still does now as a junior in college 

so as u can guess !!!! pre law wasn’t his exact first choice. he would never admit it but he would have much rather gone into art history bec it’s the one thing he loved most growing up but his parents wouldnt have ever allowed him and peter knew better than to even try to worm his way around that one

peter in college though !!!! is a very messy peter. as a junior with three years in his pocket i can imagine him having had done a lot of damage in the very little time he spent there. whether its with friends or girlfriends, peter tends to leave loose strings wherever he goes and doesn’t really know how to allow himself to fully connect with anyone. he’s VERY social and never wants to be alone, but he’s incapable of letting himself form real connections, which sometimes makes him cruel

growing up in the foster system, carrie has was a bit of an outcast. she was quiet and polite, surely, but had a way of getting into trouble. her curiosity often times led her to breaking rules and for a couple of years, she bounce from foster home to foster home.

this all changed when she turned 10 and started living with the roberts, a police detective and a lawyer. they saw beyond the “troubled child” labels and gave carrie a space to grow and cultivate her interests in a, mostly, healthy way.

high school was not the best for carrie. she didn’t mind being a loner, had been used to it by then. but she kept herself in constant pressure of getting the highest marks, being in all the clubs and, mostly, just being the best. this resulted in a breakdown that made her almost lose her senior year, only being saved by her incredibly high SAT marks.

now that carrie is in college, she is determined to become a new girl. no more odd interests or pushing herself to her limit all the time. which of course would be easier if her campus wasn’t dealing with their very own murder mystery.

personality wise, carrie is an incredibly kind and friendly person, though she can also be a bit timid. she tends to overthink every situation and is constantly looking for clues of what other people expect her to be. this leads to a bit of a competitive and neurotic nature. if there’s a prize to be won, carrie will fight for it. she is extremely clever and witty, though only her close friends can see her sardonic humor come to light. she is also curious as fuck. someone just needs to tell her to relax a little bit.

- hes only child, sort of. Carsons parents divorced when he was young and his father remarried when he was 13 to a woman who brought along 2 kids, and his mother decided traveling the world was more important that taking care of her kid. This ultimately led to him holding resentment towards her.

- Going from an only child who got every ounce of his fathers attention, to almost none at all caused him to act out. Once a promising athlete turned delinquent. He quit the baseball team his junior year of high school, and picked up the bad habit of smoking. 

- It got his fathers attention for a while, but it wasn’t enough. No amount of self-destructive behaviour could make his father pay attention to him for more than 24 hours. Not the girls he brought home and eventually the boys too lol, the constant partying or lack of soberness.r

 - carsons grandfather (he was very close with him)  was the person who introduced history to him. It was their thing, and when he passed, Carson continued to study it, which ultimately led him to making it his major in university.

his parents are both lawyers, hence his decision to study pre law. he has three older siblings, all of whom are very successful so nothing less is expected of peter

there was nothing particularly wrong about peter’s upbringing, but there was nothing right either. the way his family functioned with one another was somewhat cold and robotic

his time in school was chaotic. he was always getting mixed up with the wrong crowd, the wrong girls, the wrong drugs. 

when he graduated, he was almost relieved at the chance to get away from the framework of his life as he knew it. he wanted somewhat of a cleaner slate

a lil bit about his personality !! 

peter thrives off chaos and it not only translates into his personality but also into his relationships

he never really learned how to process his feelings or translate them into actual words (hi, someone pls put him through therapy)

he has a bad habit of leaving loose ends untied with both his friendships and his relationships which leaves him serial dating until the day he dies

THE “LOVE ROSIE”:a plot that is based on the movie. almost happened once but the timing and the situation didn’t allow anything to happen between them so they ‘let it go’ and stayed friends. now, much closer, it’s more of a “will they won’t they” kind of situation. low-key jealousy, lots of ‘almost moments’, but also everything great that comes with a solid friendship

[  katie  douglas,  cis  female,  twenty  one  ]  it  looks  like  REESE  DUPREE  is  late  to  class  once  again.  how  do  they  expect  to  get  their  degree  in  ANIMAL  BIOLOGY  by  skipping  class  ?  it’s  a  wonder  that  they  made  it  to  their  JUNIOR  year.  then  again,  i  heard  that  they  were  HONEST  which  may  give  them  a  pass  with  professors,  but  they  are  also  SINGLEMINDED  so  maybe  not.  all  i  know  is  that  they  remind  me  of  CRAMPED  NOTES  FROM  EARLY  MORNING  LABS,  A  LIT  JOINT  UNDERNEATH  THE  STARS,  FLANNEL  SHIRTS  NEARLY  WORN  THROUGH  AT  THE  ELBOWS.  so  watch  out.  oh  look,  SHE  just  walked  in  !

first  off  reese  is  uhhhhh  a  BIG  fuckin  nerd

hails  from  alabama  so  she  has  a  slight  southern  accent

oldest  of  two  girls  (  you  might  know  her  younger  sister,  avery  )

ever  since  she  was  little,  reese  kinda  did  her  own  thing  ?  she  was  a  bit  of  a  handful  as  a  child.  she  was  a  super  picky  eater  and  refused  to  eat  most  the  food  her  parents  made.  she  also  refused  to  wear  a  lot  of  clothes  they  bought  her.  she  didn’t  like  hugs  and  didn’t  like  making  eye  contact,  and  she  was  rather  mature  for  her  age  instead  of  the  cutesy  little  girl  her  parents  obviously  wanted.  

so  eventually  her  parents  just  kinda  gave  up  and  let  her  do  her  own  thing,  preferring  to  focus  more  on  her  younger  sister.  from  a  young  age  reese  has  been  making  her  own  food  and  doing  her  own  thing  and  taking  care  of  herself,  just  cause  that’s  the  way  she  prefers  it.

starting  school  she  had  a  bit  of  trouble  because  she  wasn’t  super  social.  she  also  had  issues  with  school  itself  –  though  she  excelled  with  some  teachers  in  some  subjects,  other  teachers  complained  she  wasn’t  paying  attention,  or  she  wasn’t  applying  herself.

eventually  the  issues  worked  themselves  out.  reese  began  to  make  a  group  of  friends,  and  her  grades  stabilized  and  then  rose.  she  was  quiet  in  class,  polite,  well-behaved,  if  a  little  socially  anxious.  even  still,  she  managed  to  hold  on  to  a  small  group  of  friends  relatively  well.

and  then  reese  went  to  university,  where  she  lived  in  a  dorm  and  had  classes  and  meals  with  hundreds  of  strangers.  it  was  totally  overwhelming  for  her  and  she  kind  of  shut  down.  she  spent  all  day  in  her  dark  dorm,  and  she  missed  classes  and  meals.  at  one  point,  she  was  seriously  considering  dropping  out.

that’s  when  she  was  finally  diagnosed  with  asd  (  autism  spectrum  disorder  )  at  19  years  old.  thankfully  this  let  her  get  the  supports  she  needed  to  succeed  and  she  managed  to  pull  her  grades  up  enough  move  on  to  her  second  year,  despite  being  on  academic  probation  due  to  low  grades.

she  sees  a  school  counsellor  regularly  to  help  her  stay  on  top  of  executive  function  tasks,  such  as  organization  and  time  management

she  also  takes  tests  and  exams  separately  &  gets  extra  time  because  she  often  experiences  sensory  overload  in  testing  situations  (  when  people  are  sniffing  or  coughing,  or  the  scratching  of  pencils  on  paper,  chairs  scooting  on  the  ground,  etc  )

amazingly  she  managed  to  get  a  position  at  a  lab  in  the  entomology  department  for  her  second  year  !  she’s  in  animal  biology  but  she  specifically  wants  to  be  an  entomologist  –  someone  who  studies  insects.  she’s  been  interested  in  bugs  ever  since  she  was  little  (  and  probably  briefly  had  an  ant  farm  as  a  kid  ).  but  being  on  the  spectrum,  she  learned  to  mimic  the  social  behaviour  of  her  peers,  and  not  many  girls  really  like  bugs  very  much.  so  she  learned  to  mask  that  interest  for  much  of  her  childhood.

but  anyway  yeah  she  works  in  a  lab  with  termites  and  loves  it  ehehehe.  like  i  said,  big  nerd

after  undergrad,  she  wants  to  go  to  grad  school  and  then  move  to  live  in  the  british  columbia  forests  and  study  pine  beetles

fuckin  nerd

a  lot  of  people  have  remarked  she  doesn’t  “seem”  autistic,  and  that’s  honestly  because  she’s  learned  to  pick  up  social  cues  from  others  and  mimic  what  they’re  doing,  especially  if  she  doesn’t  know  them  well  enough  to  be  herself  around  them.  ‘masking’  her  nature  like  this  can  be  pretty  tiring,  so  she  needs  a  lot  of  alone  time  to  rejuvenate  herself.  it’s  easier  when  it’s  one  on  one  or  with  people  she’s  more  comfortable  with

she  does  enjoy  socializing,  it’s  just  that  social  cues  don’t  come  naturally  to  her

probably  doesn’t  go  to  major  social  events  like  parties  very  often

smokes  weed  fairly  regularly  because  it  helps  relieve  a  lot  of  the  emotional  pressure  and  exhaustion  she  experiences  day  to  day

what  else  to  say  ?  she’s  still  very  independent  and  likes  doing  most  things  herself,  when  she  can.  fairly  quiet.  very  smart.  hates  lying  and  isn’t  very  good  at  it,  so  she  very  rarely  lies.

the backstory of stas is quite a ride so lets get straight to it

so shes a child of the system, dumped at a firestation doorstep when she was a couple days old, immediatly taken into the hosptial and was a child of the system ever since 

she was a pretty sickly kid so she wasn’t adopted right away like a lot of new born babies are & she didn’t fully recover until she was a toddler so she was passed around from foster home to foster home a lot 

she was adopted in her teens by a wealthy new england family -- the community felt she was ‘wasted’ bc she was incredibly intelligent and exceptionally pretty so once she was passed on to a foster family in new england they adopted her right away 

at first she felt very awkward and out of place in their home, it was a lifestyle she had never been introduced to before & like somedays she didn’t know where her next meal was coming from and then suddenly shes been given the keys to a car, college is all paid for and shes got a closet fit for kendall jenner 

shes never really felt love for her foster family, definitely thanks and appreciation but never love -- shes always felt like their token latina child, and by all means shes white passing but in their picture perfect home she felt like she stuck out a lot

she always kinda saw herself as the forgettable sibling, because mateo had lacrosse and was amazing at that and their younger sister was a ball of energy who demanded attention

she had a tight nit group of friends throughout school, they were her people and honestly she loves them more than anything

while she’s super close to mateo, part of savannah was glad when he went off to college

maddy  gilbert.  everything  in  her  life  has  been  meticulously  planned,  even  her  life  itself.  maddy  is  the  only  child  of  charles  &  nancy  gilbert,  who,  after,  a  long  period  of  trying  unsuccessfully,  finally  conceived  through  the  third  round  of  in-vitro  fertilization  –  and  that  shit  ain’t  cheap  !  even  before  conception,  charles  &  nancy  spared  no  expense  for  their  little  girl,  and  that  didn’t  change  through  the  rest  of  her  life.  

maddy  went  to  the  best  daycares,   then  the  best  private  schools,  then  on  to  whitton  university  like  both  her  parents  before  her.  nancy  had  been  the  president  of  zeta  beta  zeta  in  her  time,  and  maddy  dutifully  followed  suit,  joining  the  sorority  in  her  first  semester  of  university  with  jessica  santiago  as  her  ‘ big ’. 

less  than  a  month  into  her  freshman  year,  maddy  met  jacob  wright  at  a  sorority / fraternity  mixer.  he  was  a  year  older,  and  she  was  smitten.  a  relationship  quickly  began.  and  then,  in  august,  just  as  quickly  ended.  (  she  claims  it  was  mutual,  but  anyone  who  witnessed  her  crying  into  tubs  of  ice  cream  and  watching  old  romcoms  in  pyjamas  would  say  otherwise.  )  

and  then  in  november,  he  was  making  out  with  jessica  santiago  at  a  party,  and  then  he  was  missing,  and  then  he  was  dead.  not  the  best  way  to  end  a  relationship.

how  would  one  describe  madison  gilbert  ?  someone  being  nice  might  say  sweet,  thoughtful,  caring,  studious,  conscientious.  someone  being  less  nice  might  say  needy,  goody-goody,  a  pushover,  a  crybaby,  a  tryhard.

she’s  the  girl  next  door.  the  sidekick.  lawful  good.  the  girl  a  meaner,  more  cynical  girl  might  look  at  and  say,  at  least  i’m  not  like  her.  maddy  is  definitely  the  kid  who  cried  when  her  parents  dropped  her  off  at  kindergarten,  and  the  girl  who  stops  on  the  street  to  give  loose  change  to  people  begging  for  money.  she’s  not  stupid,  or  naive,  like  some  might  think.  she’s  just  excessively  tenderhearted.  

gets  anxious  very  easily  !  she  does  not  do  well  with  people  not  liking  her,  and  can  be  a  bit  of  a  people  pleaser.  she’s  very  worried  about  how  people  perceive  her,  which  makes  her  needy  and  dependent,  which  makes  her  worry  she’s  being  too  needy  and  dependent,  which  makes  her  worry  about  how  people  perceive  her  …  it  ain’t  a  cute  look  !

to  cope  with  the  anxiety,  she  bullet  journals,  almost  obsessively.  she  takes  cute  pictures  of  her  cute  notes  with  her  cute  manicure  and  a  starbucks  frappucino  in  the  background.  has  a  whole  studygram.  her  room  is  constantly  neat  and  tidy.  honestly,  if  she  wasn’t  such  a  pushover,  she’d  be  a  total  control  freak.  order  and  stability  calms  maddy.  some  might  call  her  boring,  but  she  doesn’t  care.  (  well,  no.  she  cares.  she  cares  a  lot.  so  sometimes  she  might  get  into  sticky  situations  for  the  sake  of  not  being  seen  as  a  wet  blanket.  )

i  feel  like  i’ve  really  been  dragging  maddy  through  the  mud  here,  but  she’s  got  her  strengths,  too.  she’ll  be  the  most  supportive  friend  you’ve  got.  extraordinarily  intuitive  to  other  people’s  emotions.  she’s  studious,  and  disciplined,  and  organized,  and  genuinely  intelligent,  though  prone  to  overthinking.  and  she’s  so  kind.  she’s  a  soft  bb.  pls  be  patient  with  her
