me, pretending I know nothing about this one: TELL ME MORE ABOUT fellas is it gay to date your teammate

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT'S ABOUT /t /j

SO!! fellas is it gay to date your teammate is my baseball au :) willie covington becomes he first out player in MLB history against the wishes of his management and team, and the team he's on isn't so accepting of him. they trade willie ("totally not because he's gay tho" - his previous team's PR team). now, this is a fucking shocking trade because willie is hailed as one of the best pitchers in the league. like. this guy has won the cy young twice, he's at the top of the fantasy league lists, etc. sure, he's not a prodigy, but he's v good. BUT!! he lands on alex's team (with an accepting management and even more accepting coach trevor "my daughter just married her wife, talk shit and die" wilson) and luke, the wonderful catcher that willie will bond with, is of course best friends with alex, so they all get to know each other. and alex falls in love :) and so does willie :) and............ there's a lot more to it, but that's the ~~premise. it's two fics, both estimated to be 40-50k. i've got about 20k written, and need to keep working

SNIPPET UNDER THE CUT:

Willie sways his knee over until it knocks into Alex’s. “I got to a point where I wasn’t happy. I—I love playing, I love pitching, but. My teammates were making… comments. And when I brought it up to the coaches and management they told me ‘it’s the nature of the game.’ So I changed the nature of the game.” 

Alex picks his head up and looks at Willie. Willie is already staring at him, a soft smile on his face. “That’s why you came out,” Alex mumbles. “Not how you built up the courage.” 

“Spite,” Willie grins. 

“… What do you do if you don’t have enough spite?” 

Willie blinks, and his face goes from teasing to confused to surprised. “Oh.” 

Alex looks back down at his hands. “Not that I—I don’t know if I want to. But I… staying in the closet until I retire? That—god, that’s so long, I’m only twenty-five, it’s already been so hard—“ 

Willie reaches over and covers Alex’s hands with one of his. He wiggles his fingers against Alex’s hands and Alex instinctively separates his hands and flips one over to curl around Willie’s. “I think… you’ll know when the moment is right for you.” 

“But—but—how? What tells you that it’s the right moment for anything?” 

Willie leans in close. “Well for one… Sometimes things just… fall into place.” He leans in closer and brings a hand up to curl around one side of Alex’s jaw. “This isn’t just because you just came out to me,” Willie murmurs, nearly inaudible, flicking his eyes down to Alex’s lips. “I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but let me know if it’s not—“ 

Alex cuts Willie off, crushing their lips together in a first kiss that’s much harsher than it needs to be but like Willie said. He’s wanted to do this for a while. 

He spins in his seat until he’s facing Willie and Willie takes his hands and puts one on either side of Alex’s hips, pushing against the side closest to him and pulling against the side away from him, effectively turning Alex. And then he tugs, and tugs, and Alex goes until he’s settled on Willie’s lap, one knee on either side of his thighs. He settles back onto Willie’s legs and wraps his arms around his neck and drags him in closer, angling himself so their mouths fit together more easily. 

Willie pushes, Alex gives, and they pass the ball back and forth. Alex lets Willie take control for a moment, and then he’s pushing back, demanding it back. It feels like a game of catch out on the field but so much better, so much more thrilling. His heart is racing like when he chases a ball down to the wall and turns and launches it home to throw the runner out. Willie is tugging him close like he does after every win, and Alex thinks that’s appropriate because he definitely feels like he’s just won. He definitely thinks he’s winning. He is. Oh, god, he’s winning. Can you win at kissing? Alex doesn’t even care—he is.  

Willie breaks away and breathes harsh against Alex’s lips. “When you have something that matters more than keeping the secret.” 

“What?” Alex asks. 

“That’s when you’ll know the moment is right for you.” 

Alex isn’t sure if there’s anything that matters more than being on the field, but here in Willie’s lap, in his arms, he feels like he’s dangerously close to finding out.

heart candies willex???? pls tell me more

gladly!! so this was supposed to be for a valentines day event (obviously that didn't work out........) and i got the prompt "i got a candy heart that says ‘lets kiss’ and i gave it to you as a joke, but…" for willex, so i turned that into a childhood friends to lovers 5+1 which is 5 times willie gave alex a candy heart + 1 time alex gave willie a candy heart and it was mostly just corny and stupid but there was def some hurt planned bc i'm me anyways i'm rambling have a snips!!

“I like regular candy as much as anyone else, but Valentine candy is the worst. Most of it is those disgusting powder hearts with the words on them. You know, the ones that taste like chalk off the sidewalk?”

“Those aren’t that bad,” Luke insists, but his nose scrunches in distaste the moment they’re mentioned.

“They’re the most disgusting excuse for candy I’ve ever seen-- it’s an insult to even call them candy!” Alex cries into the sky scornfully.

“And you call me overdramatic,” Willie mutters under his breath.

“Well the candy hearts are so gross they call for a certain level of melodrama,” Alex tells himself with a nod of affirmation.

“Hey, I happen to like those candy hearts,” Willie said, giving Alex’s arm a light jab with his elbow.

“Oh yeah? Then I bet you’d just love licking Mr. Lichner’s chalkboard clean. You should try it sometime.”

“Maybe I will,” Willie says, and it doesn’t sound as much like a joke as Alex wishes it did.

All That Remains is back!

After a 1.5 year hiatus, I am back to working on this fic.

Summary:

Alex doesn’t know how he survived.

All he knows is that the burning wreckage of the Jedi Temple is behind him, everything he’s ever known is gone, and he is all that remains of the Jedi Order.

With the Republic falling around him, Alex is determined to complete his Jedi Master’s final mission.

He just needs to get off Coruscant first.

Willie needs to get off Coruscant.

If he doesn’t, he will lose his ship and be stuck with Covington until spaceports reopen. Leaving is his only option. And if he runs into someone willing to help him, who is he to say no?

They’re practically strangers, but they will need to stick together to have any hope of surviving in this new galaxy.

And, really, hope is all that remains.

If he weren’t so busy regretting his life choice, he probably would’ve fallen asleep again right here on the table.

2. Pretend-Fiancée and literal Partner-In-Crime (don't try to steal my watch again)

Alex is just about to give in to the tug, catching Willie’s eyes dropping down to his own lips, when the cardboard box the ring was stored in gives in to gravity and tumbles over the edge of the table to the ground with a dull thud

3. Between Chaos and Contentment (and a little Creativity)

Alex decides that five minutes under cold water is too long so he gets an ice cube wrapped in a paper towel instead, dripping water everywhere.

4. Whore /Affectionate

Then, because he feels kinda stupid, he hesitantly places his hands at the sides of Willie’s thighs, careful to not go too far towards butt-territory.

5. When I got to touch you, I touched the sun (just like I always wanted)

It wasn’t a conscious decision for Willie to look at Alex—Willie couldn’t look away anymore.

5. You think I'm cool? (Unfortunately, I do)

When Bobby tells Reggie to open his eyes again, he runs his thumbs underneath them one more time, checking if they’re even, and adding a little more on the left.

6. All the other People who tried (it had to be You)

“He looks murderous! He was looking at me like I was his breakfast!”

7. And I would kiss you if you wanted to (with my hand on your cheek)

Do not get attached to Willie.

Bobby presses a quick kiss to Reggie’s lips, they are both calling their ‘good bye’s to Luke and Julie before Bobby pushes him out the door.

9. Don't come into a man's house and insult his shampoo (unless it's your boyfriend's)

“I-,“ Alex starts, calming down again, “yes, I will help you wash your hair.”

“Oh, no, nothing, it’s just that this little guy here,” Alex pointed to the cat on his lap, “doesn’t really give off Rambo-vibes.”

Bobby reached his hand out to lift his chin with his fingers, the boy’s eyes softening. “Reggie, you know you didn’t need to do that, you have a life outside of this you could have been living.”

“I know, but I really wanted to do well for you, to prove that I can stick with something and I also really like spending time with you,” Reggie shrugged, his eyes locked with Bobby’s.

Bobby wasn’t sure what to say to that. He wanted to agree and tell him he was proud, but what was the point when he was going to be moving away soon, why make a connection only for it to be broken because of him?

 “I will be enrolling at Hillerska Boarding School.  Nobody is more disappointed in me than my family, and especially myself,” he continues, feeling his mother’s gaze on him.  The mic pinned to his collar catches every word, every breath, every hesitation.  He gulps, lifting his chin ever-so-slightly, trying to keep his mask from breaking.  “This past year has been difficult for me,” Alex continues, fighting to keep his voice steady even though this is the last thing he ever wanted.  “There has been added pressure as I assume my official duties as prince.   Because of this, I have acted irresponsibly.  I apologise for this, and assure you that it will not happen again.”
