Someone tries to reforge Honor but are unsuccessful. Instead they creat a new entity, a vessel that holds the fragments of Honor but is not Honor reforged or repaired.

Cultivation and Odium are taken out of play somehow. Perhaps Cultivation is destroyed because the curse/boon she’s given to Taravangian somehow violate the agreements of the duel, leaving her open to retaliation and a mutual destruction with TOdium. Possibly they both just leave Roshar and only this not-quite-Honor remains there, which is an option if Odium wins the duel.

Spoilers for chapter 13 of Wind and Truth:

"Storms, from what he knew of lighteyed succession and genealogy… yes, they’d be brothers. Ever practical about such things, the Alethi made no distinction between adopted heirs and birthed heirs—just as being conquered by or settling in the kingdom made you Alethi subjects, regardless of heritage."

Which means same-sex couples and other couples who are unable to have children can still adopt and those children will still be considered their rightful heirs and can still be in the succession line (in the case of the royal family).

It baffles be how for such a conservative religion, Vorinism can sometimes be extremily progressive.

It seems like we'll have just one more desolation, so this cant happen but imagine if Kaladin simply never dies once. Every Desolation Taln and Kaladin both dive into unwinnable fights and they both win and Taln always dies and Kaladin always lives. Skill Issue. Herald of Mission Status Sick
