Congrats!! It’s been awhile since I’ve upgraded a PC, but I know exactly what you’re talking about.

I’m not gonna lie, I was on youtube checking out ‘how to apply thermal paste’ videos the whole time I was getting the backplate on and then it was just... so easy? 

the best application method is supposedly ‘pea-sized’ but I’m an adult who doesn’t have to eat mushy scrotum vegetables and, frankly, doesn’t remember the relative size of a pea, so the best tip I got is that pea-sized means about enough to cover the top of any nearby capacitors

so what were you upgrading PCs for, if you don’t mind me asking?

@wingedkiare Yeah, I just got caught up - and I can't deal with how rude she is to demand an apology.  If you're an artist, you're going to have to accept that not everyone will appreciate it - especially if you work in an unusual medium.  And Creation enabling it?  I'm done.

This whole thing is absolutely disgusting. And the fact you know Creation more than likely pressured Misha into this bullshit meeting and apology assures that I will never go to another con again.

Damn that took even faster than I thought it would.

I admit, after the long stream of WTF work threw at me today - I didn’t have the patience, so I dropped a mention of Ronnie just to see what would happen.  Got quiet, real quick.

Things that happened today at work:

Woman emailed about one of our ads being the wrong size and she cannot figure out how to put in two more ads at the bottom of her sidebar - when our plugin creates widgets in Wordpress. And she had to have dragged and dropped it - but uh, apparently didn’t pick an appropriate size. And then had no idea how to do that ever again.

Another woman announced that she was happy we accepted her site, but she plans on switching to our main competitor as soon as her site meets their threshhold.  I sent that to multiple teams, because we were all gobsmacked.

Woman emailed me because she doesn’t want any more ads inside her blog posts, but wants to raise her RPM (revenue per mille, 1000 pageviews).  So, she’s taking away ad slots, but wants to make more money.  Oohhhhhkay.

Guy demands I set up a video call to walk him through ad setup. I send him the same walkthrough we link on the site and he says “Oh, this is clear, thank you.”

Two people tell me that they didn’t know we were an ad network.  I say, okay. I can close your account, that’s no problem.  One says okay, one says “no, keep it open. I want to be in your network, I just don’t want to run ads.”

And then to top it off, IT looked at my laptop on Friday (work laptop has the fan running constantly when I have 12 tabs in one browser, Outlook, Slack and Excel open.  I kinda need all of those.) and said it was fine. And indeed, it behaved great when they looked at my laptop with all my applications closed.  Today she closed the ticket.... and my laptop started freezing up again.

We still have one PC that we keep for the kids for Minecraft and other video games, so we’ve been slowly upgrading that one.

Personal use. Before I used to use a laptop almost exclusively, I used a tower and we upgraded to handle gaming and editing.

nice! yeah I’m moving in the opposite direction, only using this laptop for basic browsing and all gaming/editing/etc happens on the desktop now. Which is why I regret spending $700 on this laptop last year :/ I kind of want to sell it and reinvest that money in the desktop but I’m not sure how much I’d be able to get out of it.

Ah man, I miss Minecraft! I had a whole group that I played with but my computer couldn’t really keep up and I think they’re using the server for other things now. And I don’t have the attention span for building games tbh, I’m more of an RPG person

though I’ve been into Overwatch lately so FPS has some (limited) appeal, I guess

Hi!  So this is Whitney (aka @wingedkiare).  I’d been sharing a bunch of social media posts with Evey, and realized I should just collect them here - since summer always means a lot of great videos from hockey players since they have downtime.  But I didn’t want to spam my regular blog.

I follow a bunch of women’s hockey players, Pens, Stars and Golden Knights players (and some guys who’ve formerly been on any of those teams).  So if you have a favorite player I’m not reposting from, it isn’t personal.  I might just not follow them.

The Rules: - All these videos/posts are from public accounts.  I promise I would never ever repost something that wasn’t intended for others to see. - I’m not out to post anything scandalous. This is probably gonna be doofuses playing golf and mostly dog pictures.
