Something unique happens when you head out onto the mountain after a storm; the sun peaking through the fluffy clouds, an orange sunset like glow in early afternoon, heavy snow changing the landscape. It's easy to get lost in this magical snowy world of beauty, but if you learn to isolate a small portion from the whole, you can find unique viewpoints. As I travel through this life, even while doing mundane things, I try to remember to open my creative mind and see each piece in it's own beauty. It could be the smell of clean laundry as I do chores, the way the wind whips through the old oaks as I walk the dogs, or the way the rain has made the ground squishy beneath my feet. This week is feeling really long and the darkness is really getting to me. The warm temperatures feel so weird. The wind is soft on my cheeks and while I do enjoy that feeling, I would prefer the hardness and freshness of cold air now in december.
