From Blue Blood 01:
Even Mahrias seemed to be drifting away from him, further and further each day. The cracks in their relationship slowly growing into an aching chasm that neither of them knew how to cross anymore.

“Oh, great,” grumbled Mahrias, “Are you here to tell us to stop?”
To his surprise, Sahrav shook his head. “Actually, I- um… I was wondering if you two wanted to… uh… I don’t know. Do something?”
“With you?” said Mahrias, at the same time Viter shouted, “Yes!”
“I mean, you don’t have to if you don’t want to,” Sahrav replied, looking at the floor. “I understand. I just… I thought since they weren’t here, we co- we could-”
“Yes,” interrupted Mahrias. “We’d like that.”
Sahrav sighed in relief, his shoulders finally releasing the tension he’d been holding. “So, did you two have any plans?”
“Not yet!” said Viter, grabbing onto Sahrav’s arm. “Do you have any ideas?”
“Ah, I’m not… uh…” he looked over at Mahrias, “I’m not good at the whole fun thing.”
Mahrias grinned at him. “Luckily for you, I am.”
And that was how half an hour later the three of them were stood in Rujav’s previously locked office. Sahrav was near the door, his eyes flicking over to it nervously, whilst Viter was looking at the pictures on the wall.
Mahrias was currently rummaging through Rujav’s desk, pointing out the things that he found interesting.
“Third sock!” he exclaimed, pulling out a blue woolly sock. “Why does he have so many socks in his desk? Is he collecting them?” He gasped and looked over at Sahrav. “Do you think this is where my missing ones keep going?”
“Father isn’t stealing your socks!” Sahrav hissed. “Please can we get out of here? We’re going to get caught.”
“How? Mother and Father are both on a ship in the middle of the sea. Do you really think Father’s going to throw himself overboard, swim all the way back here, and catch us in his office?”
Viter looked over at him. “Maybe that’s what the sock does. You’ve summoned him by touching it.”
Mahrias grimaced and threw the sock back into the drawer in mock horror. He closed it and opened the one beneath it, his eyes widening.
            “Sahrav! Look!”
His brother looked over as he pulled out a stack of letters and started to read them.
“What are you doing?” he said, rushing over to him. “You can’t read Father’s personal letters!”
Mahrias jumped away from him, dropping a couple of the letters. “I can do as I please! You can’t pretend that you’re not interested in what they say.”
“I’m not,” he replied, “I wouldn’t like someone to read my personal things.”
“Not even if they were about you?”
This stopped him. “What are you talking about?”
Mahrias excessively cleared his throat, making a big show about it, before reading from one of the letters in his hand. “Your son Sahrav sounds like a fine man and his Value is extremely impress-”
“Oh no,” groaned Sahrav, “Who is it from?”
Mahrias scanned down to the bottom of the page. “Uh… Tilda Kahta.”
Sahrav threw his head back in relief. “Oh, thank the gods. At least I know I’m safe from her.”
            “What are you talking about?”
            “Marriage. Father is… making progress.”
Mahrias frowned. “Isn’t that a good thing?”
“Are you looking forward to marrying a stranger?”
“Sure. If it gets me out of here.” He turned away and started to read the other letters.
Sahrav didn’t know his brother well, but he knew that was a sign that he didn’t want to talk about it anymore. Which was fine, because neither did he.
Filled with a sense of rebellion, he grabbed a handful of the letters and started reading them himself. He tried to ignore the smirk on Mahrias’s face but couldn’t help smiling as he saw it out of the corner of his eye.

whumpril2024
Steve is twelve when he makes his first blanket nest. His parents aren’t home so he gets to keep it for a glorious two months, but the moment his mother sees it she’s already dismantling it, hissing at him to never mention it to his father, or else. He can only look at her with wide eyes and nod, never having seen his mother this scared, even when she’s doing her best to hide it behind anger.
The impulse, the need, to make a nest doesn’t go away but rather intensifies as time goes on and he can’t ignore what it likely means.
In the next two years he makes several nests, always trying to dismantle them when his parents come home, but there comes a point where he’s afraid to have them any longer because his parents are suddenly at home more and his father keeps talking about how he’s happy he won’t have an omega for a son when the time comes, how Steve is independent and will do him proud, talking as if Steve will have any control over his biology.
So, of course he panics when he presents, even when he’d been expecting the outcome. He’s been nesting all week, unable to make himself take his nest down, it was always gone when he got home from school and him and his mother avoided each other’s eyes, he saw the fear in them, could almost smell it on her, that sourness people always talked about.
-
and, because whimsy struck me, i'm sharing sentences from an upside down accident.
Steve looks at him and the fear in his eyes, in his scent and the anger simmering beneath is horrible to see. For a moment, he wants to take the words back, to not be so paranoid, but this is their baby and her future and he can’t not panic and spiral into the worst case scenarios.
Steve reaches over the table for his hand, shakes his head and appears calm, even when Eddie can still smell he’s nothing but.
He allows the squeezing of his free hand, the other cradling the baby to his chest, her pudgy little fingers clinging to his shirt.
They can’t live like this and they both know it.
‘Let’s eat first and… let’s just eat.’
Eddie eats.
--- i think i wrote something like 800 in total for all of these. yay!

can i ask for grammarly (bec i FUCKING HATE GRAMMARLY) and also a wip u rlly want to talk about ^-^
2. grammarly
lmao grammaly gets on my last nerve too (but I still use it bc I'm loyal to it 😭). It's actually an offshoot of bing bong 2 because the document was getting too long and grammarly wasn't loading properly and made the entire thing laggy. So I got fed up and just created a new doc to write whatever current chapter of bb2 I was working on so I could edit it without getting frustrated lmao.
I still keep grammarly around for the nostalgia I guess and typos but I've started the switch to ProWritingAid and I feel that it's much better because now I can pick a tone (fiction, romance, etc.).
Anyways here's a snip snop (context is they both don't know each other's identities)
Hal internally grinned as he played out all the different scenarios of what he so desperately hoped would happen tonight. They’d have a romantic dinner, and then Hal would woo the shit out of Flash and show him that he was serious about him—about them.
God, that guy was everything.
Just thinking about Flash made Hal feel giddy all over.
Barry hadn’t realized how much he’d begun to love Hal’s smile. It was like a breath of fresh air, filling Barry’s lungs with new life, new invigoration, new fulfillment—it was everything he needed after a bout of staleness, like seeing things in a new light. Yet, in the same vein, Hal took his breath away and made Barry feel like he’d been swept off his feet, whisked away to the less pressurized atmosphere in one of the pilot’s planes.
In other words, Barry was gone. Melted in a puddle of mush. A mess in Hal Jordan’s hands.
4. bing bong ideas
I had a dream that Hal was in a coma and Barry confessed his love for him because he thought Hal couldn't hear him and was too afraid to do it face to face for fear of rejection but Hal actually heard him. That's all I have in my brain for now the bullet point is literally titled "Coma AU" lmao

Let’s do The Fatal Flaw because I love me some alliteration lol
✦ The Fatal Flaw → Destiny Chapter Titles
not gonna lie I legit was gonna just post this pic and not give you anything else to torture you... so... enjoy my briefly amusing spite --
Tumblr media
all I will give you are these three (3) teaser-y nibblets -- if I get to use this chapter title, it will be somewhere near the end of book 5, you may laugh at the alliteration, but if you recall my chapter titles tend to have literal interpretations too, and finally this one is more of a reminder than a teaser, but nevertheless... remember that I told you:
I’M -NOT- FOLLOWING THE MC-TURNING PLOT USED IN BB2 FOR THE END OF DESTINY II
so no it’s not Nadya (MC) dying in a teary sacrifice and waking up in the last sentence as a vampire
now let your imagination run wild and probably off a cliff in anticipation
Tumblr media
pick a title from my WIP List that intrigues you & [ask me about it!]

blue blood excerpt (1984)
“I’m scared, Selma. This isn’t what I was prepared for.”
            “Marriage?”
Sahrav shook his head. “You know what I mean. All… this. I was prepared for marriage and everything, on my own island. I was supposed to be the Usa’i.”
“You didn’t want to be the Usa’i.”
“I didn’t! I don’t!” Sahrav exhaled and rubbed his face, his voice shaking. “My whole life has been planned since I was born, and I’ve always known exactly what to expect. Now there’s just all this… this uncertainty and change, and it makes me feel… I don’t know. Lost, I guess.”
            “You can get through this.”
“I don’t want to! I want things to stay the same.”
Selma put her arm around him. “I know. But that’s what life is, Sahrav. A constant flow of unpredictable change. We can’t control everything, and I know that’s what makes you anxious, but you need to try and focus on the things you can change.”
“Such as? Everything I do is determined by what other people expect of me. And even that isn’t consistent.” Tears welled up in his eyes and he pushed his balled-up fists into them, trying to hide it. “I don’t know who I’m supposed to be anymore.”
            “Be yourself.”
            “Myself isn’t good enough.”

Find the Word Tag
Thank you @kaylinalexanderbooks for tagging me over here!
No pressure tag for @writernopal @squarebracket-trick @tisiphonewolfe and anyone else who wants to do it! :)
Your words are: need, lost, soft, bite
-
My words were: tool, personal, appear, sour
Tool
She shuddered, inspecting her now empty cup. “Sometimes we forget that as gishars we are more susceptible to the dangers of heiros. We are nothing more than tools of the island, born to be a tether to prevent it from being unstable. If we corrupt ourselves, we corrupt the power of the island. And then the cycle never ends.”
-
Personal
Rujav sighed. That would be the ideal situation, to marry his son to the daughter of his best friend. Yet Osin had not said a word since Sahrav came of age, and it felt strange of him to ask. He knew it wasn’t for a personal reason, nor anything to do with Sahrav himself. But it still hurt his feelings. If only because Osin had failed to tell him the reason behind the unintentional snub.
-
Appear
It was the same every time. The feeling of falling for what felt like an eternity, yet knowing that the ground was going to appear at any moment. The sudden shockwave of pain throughout his body that launched him awake, hyperventilating and sweating each time.
-
Sour
Mahrias turned and ran out of the room, still sobbing. Rujav watched him go, feeling that awful sourness in the pit of his belly. A small cloud started to generate above his head, and he swatted it away with a sigh.

Thank you @oh-no-another-idea for tagging me here.
No pressure tag for @meerawrites @sparrow-orion-writes @silverslipstream @elshells and anyone else who wants to do it :)
Your words are: admit, begin, lost, and remind
-
My words were those, there, hit, and hurt:
those
            “I will never love you.”
To most people, those words at the start of a marriage would be devastating to hear.
But, for Lavis, they signified hope.
-
there
The Kahta’s daughter wasn’t even up for consideration. There was no way [Rujav] was marrying his prized heir to the granddaughter of a coward. The Kahtas were going to be working that stain out of their Values for decades.
-
hit
If the math was right, [Viter] was roughly down to only a third of his Health Value, which was a significant hit and not one that was easy to make up. He’d already taken damage to his Base Value just by being a third child.
-
hurt
[Viter] felt as though he should thank his father. But a part of him felt hurt. He didn’t want to thank him for doing the bare minimum, when he had fallen short in so many other ways.

02 Blue Blood: Dying to Love
Tumblr media
-
Set in the islands of Li Hei between 1985 – 1996, Dying to Love follows three brothers and the choices they make in the name of love.
Tumblr media
Sahrav is the eldest and set to inherit the island after their father. Outwardly he seems the perfect child and upholds the traditions to the highest standard. In truth, Sahrav doesn’t want any of this responsibility and dreams of running away. This only intensifies when he meets Eirani, a transient Safoh, who makes him see the world in a completely different way. He must make a choice as to what is more important, following through his destiny, or following his heart.
Mahrias is the middle child and is very resentful of his older brother. All he wants is to be noticed by their father but nothing he does is ever enough. Seeking the attention he craves elsewhere, Mahrias is slowly dragged down the path of corruption in the belief that he is following love. By the time he realises he is being used, it’s already too late, and he’s forced to make a choice that could destroy not only himself, but his entire family.
Viter is the youngest and considered worthless by the Gishar community. He has no future and is a stain on the Kontemno name. The only person who never believed that is Mahrias, who steps in where their father failed. But their family is still far from perfect. Pressured by the secrets he’s forced to keep over the years, Viter begins to crack, and the only one he can turn to is becoming someone he no longer recognises. He believes he can save Mahrias from corruption, but the Gods have their own plans.

Blue Blood Excerpt (1984)
Later that day, Mahrias was skipping around halls in a glorious mood. It felt like the sun was shining on him for the very first time and he was basking in the light.
As he entered one of the halls, he saw Sahrav sat on one of the thick windowsills, his head leaning out of the window.
He knew that he shouldn’t, but Mahrias couldn’t resist gloating to his brother. He’d earned the right after watching him be the wanted one for so many years.
“How do you feel now that I’m the heir?” He said, sitting beside him and smirking.
Sahrav said nothing, continuing to gaze out of the window.
Mahrias felt a spike of anger at being ignored and he couldn’t help muttering. “You really are just like Father.”
This got a response – Sahrav’s head whipped around to glare at him. “I am not like Father.”
“I would have thought that would be a compliment for you.”
“I know you dislike me, Mahrias, but do you really think that little of me?”
Mahrias sighed. “You’re the perfect one. How could anyone think little of you?”
            “I am far from perfect.”
            “Father seems to believe so.”
“Well,” said Sahrav, turning to look back out of the window, “Father is not always right. You know that better than I do.”
This was probably the longest conversation they’d had in a long time. Despite it not being a pleasant one, Mahrias almost didn’t want it to be over. Yet he couldn’t think of anything else to say.
Their childhood together seemed like a lifetime ago. There were four years between them, so Sahrav had always been seen as an authority to Mahrias. It hadn’t stopped them from having fun though, despite how much of a killjoy his older brother could often be. He had fond memories of the two of them playing in the snow, near the large pond at the far end of the castle grounds where they would skate together.
The more years added to Sahrav’s age, the more responsibility and training had been bestowed upon him. Once Sahrav had ended his Pavasun, things had truly changed. These days they only saw each other at meals and even then they never spoke. Mahrias had no idea if Sahrav really was like their father. He didn’t know what kind of man he was at all. He hoped that the same wouldn’t happen to him and Viter.
“Do you need anything else?” Sahrav asked.
Mahrias hesitated a moment before shaking his head. There was no need for him to mend the bond between himself and his older brother. He would be gone soon.
As he made his way towards his room, he tried to shake away the unease that had settled within. Something about interacting with Sahrav always made him feel as though something inside him had come loose. He wanted to speak with him, but at the same time the mere sight of his face was enough to irritate him.
Not for the first time, he wished that things could be different.
