Hi! I used to get notifications for your other Tumblr (rest in peace), and I miss your art so much. I'm too broke to afford your Patreon, but I've been watching your Twitter and will do my absolute best to order a calendar whenever it does come out. Even though I haven't seen any of your month god pictures (I still get emails from Patreon about your posts, I just can't see them 😅), I can only imagine how fantastic they are.

aww I'm glad my calendar project caught your attention! I was honestly wondering if it was worth it at all to mention it here on tumblr :0 but I guess it is!

I posted a little sneak peek on twitter and I suppose I can share it here too (there's one extra peek even, shh don't tell twitter)

as an explanation of what this is, I'm making a 2025 calendar with twelve illustrations of the gods from My Nature God Academia AU, but I want it to look *really pretty and fancy* so their jewellery will be stamped with gold foil (or silver, depending on the character)

I haven't been able to draw for like a week due to school work so when I should have been studying, a minor desire to draw a character I've never drawn before became a fixation with Alvin the Treacherous...

These were all in my sketchbook and a lot on the same page but I cropped them to make them fit better. I cropped the e from "handsome" because it was in the wirebound part and also because I thought it was funnier that way. I forgot what a fun villain Alvin is. The toungue is in cheek on every page.

An endorsement of Dropout's Dimension 20 calendars, for less obvious reasons:

1) Wirebound for easier flipping to the new month, and printed on something like card stock you can actually write on. No thin and glossy paper sheets to be found here.

2) Do you forget to flip the calendar when a new months starts in the middle of a week? NOT ANYMORE. Each "month" is allotted 5 weeks of space. What would be BLANK spaces in an 'average' calendar is marked with the dates of the surrounding months, so you have the full week at a glance even before flipping.

For example, January 2025 starts on a Wednesday, so the first Sunday through Tuesday indicate December 29-31. January itself ends on Friday the 31st, so the last Saturday on the January page is February 1.

3) Inclusive Holidays! These vary from religious and cultural observances (including but not limited to Jewish, Hindu, and Muslim) to commemmorating notable figures. Solstices and equinoxes are marked, as well as monthly celebrations for heritage and cultural awareness. They even took the time to mark when a date is "tentative" for a particular celebration, rather than leave it out entirely from the printing.

4) Deep Cuts: Only a couple of them, but there are some dates based on Dropout content (like when Kingston Brown made pancakes)

5) You get an EXTRA month (with extra art)! Just in case you didn't grab a new calendar before the new year: the 2024 calendar includes the month of January 2025, and same for 2025's with January 2026.

🎨 Welcome to My Ever-Growing Art Nook

As I continue my journey back into drawing, I thought I’d share a behind-the-scenes look at the gear helping me rebuild my fundamentals — and trust me, it’s becoming quite the setup!

🧱 Main setup:

At the center of it all is my adjustable Liquidraw Desk Easel A2 (Amazon find). It’s sturdy, flexible, and gives me the angle I need whether I’m sketching loose lines or drilling focused shapes.

📓 Sketchbooks galore:

My main workhorse right now is an A3 Wirebound Sketch Pad Sketchbook — big, bold, and ideal for practice.

I’ve also got A4 sketchbooks scattered in nearly every room — because inspiration clearly doesn’t care where I am.

✏️ My daily go-to tools:

A reliable 2H pencil

A sharpener

A standard eraser

And my trusty drawing glove to keep things smooth and smudge-free.

🧰 Hidden but essential:

My Castle Art Supplies 100 Piece Drawing & Sketching Set is finally getting some love after collecting dust for far too long.

📱 Digital sidekick:

My Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is never far — I use it for art tutorials, note-taking, references, and the occasional Pinterest deep-dive.

📦 And yes… I’ve got a growing tower of untouched A3 and A4 sketchbooks just waiting for their moment to shine.

Honestly, maybe I should’ve just bought loose sheets — but where’s the drama in that? 😅

Especially since I’ve spent years saying “I’m gonna get back into art soon…” — and in the meantime, I’ve basically been collecting sketchbooks like they’re trading cards.

Writing Initiative #2

The quality of my photos were pretty good, and they are very good at showing the motion and the somnolent effect. But everybody mentioned that maybe a full book using one photo on each page would be a better idea and adding more frames to make it longer after it fades to white, and this time going in reverse but ending in black at the end. Use black on black or grey on black for the word somnolent on the front page as well. So I will be changing the size to a full A4 size paper putting one photo on each page and getting it wirebound so they can flip through each page with no restrictions and let the viewer take their time and look at each photo so they can connect to the feeling of the theme. They gave me a better idea of how to focus on the time, especially making it show that somnolent can be time-biased, which is why I have come up with an extra idea to show how time goes by and slips away in my 3D art.

What I do is get a cheap sketchbook, and if I don't like a piece/sketch or doodled, I tear out the page afterwards (wirebound sketchbook) so it is still just my 'good' drawings!

"It took me TWO years to finish this sketch book!" Well that's cuz you're not fuckin sketching. Those are fully painted pieces dawg that's a renderedbook. I've gone through four sketchbooks in my off time this year alone I just draw stupid faces and shit for fun. pussy up like the rest of us and start drawing stick figures with guns

After a trip to @joann_stores today to hunt for zippers I decided I needed to make a sewing journal. I’m using heavyweight card stock, a cover from an old Singer sewing book , and my @heidiswapp Cinch to bind it.
