Legends Never Die
{ I would like to award @000marie198 for excellent performance as beta reader and editorial supporter. Another wonderful chapter because of your great work friend. }
Part 1 ~ Immortal Escape
Chapter 4 - Hacked~
( Chapter 1 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 5 )
Kit strolled through the dark halls, his ears flicking back and forth on high alert for any sounds of approaching footsteps.
He'd already passed by three scientists, two guards and a postman. None of which payed him any mind. It was too early for anyone else to be up, and even Kit was finding it hard to keep his eyelids from drooping.
"How much longer?" a voice whined in his ear, instantly kicking his mind back into wakefulness.
"Not much longer," Kit whispered, glancing down an adjoining hall before turning left, "Quit your whining."
A tiny huff and a hardly audible mumbling could be heard from the communication device tucked inside his ear. The voice apparently not willing to argue at the moment.
Kit was glad for the silence, his senses scanning his surroundings for any possible dangers.
Eventually he came across a hall, lined on each side by windows embedded with a chain link mesh; a cheap way out of buying legitimate bullet proof glass. Though, Kit would admit, the glass would at least stop anyone physically trying to brute force their way into the rooms beyond.
Behind the glass, were dark rooms, completely unoccupied at the moment. Tall, whirring machinery sat idling against the walls, their lights blinking on and off as the processors spun to life. The box-like machines were protected by a heavy duty plastic, and long desks stood in rows in front of them. Black wires attached the machines to ports propped on the desks, leading to computer like devices with curving black screens.
No one was there.
Kit turned to one of the doors, turning its handle with a resounding click. The door opened silently, and Kit glanced up and down the empty hall before stepping inside, closing the door behind him with yet another jarring click.
His eyes scanned the rows of desks and lifeless screens before picking one farther back to the right. Relatively out of sight from the doorway, and a place he assumed would be least conspicuous.
Hurrying his way to the port, he sat himself down in the swivel chair, the wheels rumbling as he slid up to the desk in one smooth motion. With a flourish he clicked the power button, a green light at the top of the screen blinking on.
He waited for the screen to light up, bathing his face in blue hues.
A code bar popped up, requiring a password. Kit typed it in, almost rolling his eyes at how easy it was.
"You'd think they'd at least make me hack it," he muttered.
"What was that?" The voice over the intercom asked teasingly, "Don't tell me you're bored out there playing undercover cop!"
Kit didn't respond, watching as the screen notified him to several different running programs as well as a tab requesting him to wait patiently while it fully connected to G.U.P database.
"Because that's certainly not how I would feel. But hey! You could stay back here if that'd help!"
"We both know that's not an option."
Silence. Then a suspicious,
"Do we...?"
"Well I do. And I've tried to tell you. So it's not my fault if you haven't been listening."
"Yeesh... Someone needs their coffee..."
Kit didn't respond, but an amused smile tempted the corner of his muzzle.
A long sigh in his ear. "Will it be much longer now?”
"Be patient, I'm connecting to the main server."
"Can't you just plug 'Mega in right now and get it started?"
"This incessant speech is causing unnecessary distraction. Requesting permission to mute him." Omega's voice came over the comm now.
Kit snickered at the indignant sputtering from the other voice.
"That's alright, Omega. I think I've lived with him long enough now that I've built an immunity to his nonstop talking."
"Hey!"
"Very well."
A huff. "So... Why can't you just plug Omega in and let him get a head start.?"
Kit released a breath, "Because for as amazingly unprotected these computers are, they're terribly finicky. If I plug the drive in, and Omega tries to access the computer before it's fully connected, the whole thing will shut down."
A thoughtful, "Oh."
The screen whirred. Finally the connection had completed and Kit grinned giddily, folding his hands together and stretching them out, the joints of his fingers letting out muted pops.
"I'm in."
"About time..." The voice muttered.
Kit decided to ignore him, reaching into his uniform's chest pocket and pulling out the uniquely marked device.
Pressing a tiny button on the side, a tiny antennae flipped up, and with a quick swipe he plugged the device into the computer port.
"Okay, 'Mega. Let's get cracking."
"Affirmative. Initiating download."
Dead silence could be heard over the comm. Omega's computer consciousness busy navigating the G.U.P database, and Tails busy breaking through as many coded files as possible.
"...Well, as fascinating as it is to sit here and listen to you both wordlessly hack into the most pretentious government agency on Mobius- I think I'm going to make some breakfast. I'm famished."
Kit chuckled, "No one's stopping you."
"Stopping who?"
Kit nearly lifted three inches off the chair, his whole body jerking to face the voice that had suddenly materialized beside him.
A grey wolf stood next to him, his posture relaxed with one hand shoved in his uniform pocket and another holding a mug with the words 'Computer Nerd #1' scrawled across the side. Despite the heaviness in his eyes his ears were pointed forward, curiosity dragging his hazel gaze between the fox and the glowing screen.
"Oh, uuuhh," Kit glanced at the screen, grateful that the words were small and the open windows stacked haphazardly on top of each other, "N-no one."
He laughed awkwardly, leaning forward and propping his elbow onto the desk, which in turn propped up his head.
"It's just early. And with no one else here, it's hard not to strike up a conversation with the equipment."
"Mmm."
The wolf took a loud sip from his coffee. Looking perfectly comfortable where he was.
"Tails? You good? Did someone catch you?! You need me to bail you out?! Blink twice if you need me to bail you out! I'll be there in five seconds!"
Kit tried not to react to the incessant voice in his ear, which was sounding way more excited than it should have.
Kit patted the desk with his free hand, leaning back so his head wasn't resting on his hand.
"Ya know how it is right? Sometimes these girls just need a bit of encouragement in the morning." He gestured to the computer.
The wolf's eyes seemed to lighten a bit.
"Oh yeah. I talk to my girl all the time. Got the fastest processor in this Bestia tech-center. I upgraded her myself."
Kit found himself relaxing, until a flash of suspicion crossed the wolf's hazel stare.
"But what are you doing here? I don't recognize you. And usually the interns or volunteers arrive later in the day."
"Oh, well, you see..."
"I just realized I can't actually see if you've blinked twice, so you'll have to tell me. Now tell me the truth-! Have you blinked twice?!"
Kit resisted the urge to grind his teeth.
"I've- actually been here for a while now. I'm mostly just moved around to inspect the bases and such. Ya know, make sure the training programs are up to current protocol, updating software systems, double checking sanitation standards."
Kit shrugged.
"And, ya know. Make sure things run smoothly."
The wolf's eyes had widened in awe and surprise.
"Dang," he whistled. "Sounds like a rough job."
Kit exhaled, relieved that his cover story was still working.
"They make you work insane hours too?" The wolf slowly began to amble away, though his face was still respectfully turned to face the fox.
Kit nodded, purposefully turning his gaze back to the screen, and tapping on the keyboard.
"Actually, I'm headed somewhere else later today. But I haven't been able to check the computer systems yet, so I wanted to get that done before I left."
"Absolutely understandable. My station's over here."
Kit only stole a side glance, noting with satisfaction that the station was ahead and to the far left, across the room from him.
"If you need anything, just let me know!"
"Thanks," Kit replied, his voice nearly a mutter.
"You still haven't answered me-!" A small gasp. "Are they keeping you from talking?! Don't worry, I'll be right there-"
"Don't even think about it," Kit hissed, keeping his voice low and ears erect. He wasn't too keen on being caught unawares a second time.
A low mutter he couldn't quite make out was mumbled with much chagrin. Kit promptly ignored it.
"Omega, what's your progress.?"
A beat of silence.
"I have thoroughly scanned and reviewed all available documents."
"And?"
"No beneficial data has been detected."
Kit felt himself deflate.
"What about, like, the high security stuff?" The voice in his ear offered uncertainly, "Aren't there usually some top secret files or something?"
Kit shook his head, "None that we haven't been able to hack into," he breathed, ear twitching in irritation.
"I cannot help but question how much G.U.N actually trusts this inferior organization. All of the information I have collected from our multiple infiltrations have been vastly disappointing."
"Trust..." Kit muttered, Omega's words tickling a thought in his brain. "Inferior..."
His head jerked up with a gasp, which he quickly tried to stifle before the wolf noticed, his hand clapping over his muzzle.
His eyes darted over to the wolf's station, but the Mobian hadn't seemed to notice. Relief pooled in his chest as he pulled his transmitting device out of its slot, wiping the computer's log of activity and powering it down.
He stood up, pushing the chair away from the desk and tucking the drive back into his vest pocket.
Glancing around once, he stretched and nonchalantly headed out the door.
"All good here!"
"Sweet!" The wolf swiveled around in his chair, giving Kit a thumbs up, "Hey, put in a good word for me to the big guys?"
Kit hesitated, hand on the handle. "Uh, yeah. Sure."
He stepped back out into the hallway, the door clicking closed behind him.
"Soooooo you got a plan?"
Kit grimaced, striding through the maze of a base.
"If you want to call it that."
"Will it involve taking the offensive?"
"Not in the way you mean."
"What're you thinking.?"
"Remember my theory about the government slowly disassociating Mobians from Humans?"
A long groan.
"Come on. That's just a conspiracy!"
"A well calculated one, if my resources are accurately documented."
"Conspiracy or not, I wouldn't put it past G.U.N to back it up. And based on the way they've specifically separated Mobians and Humans in their G.U.P bases, it wouldn't surprise me at all."
Kit turned down another hall, noting the gradual growth of activity as more Mobians began to roam the halls.
"Okay, so what? Even if any of that stuff were true, which I think is ridiculous, how is that gonna help us?"
Kit nodded respectfully to two female operatives passing him.
"It's all about trust. If G.U.N is really starting to lean toward discrimination against Mobians, it makes sense that they'd limit Mobian access to their database."
"So you're gonna break into the Human's half, and hope their database has what we're looking for."
Kit found the hall opening up into a sort of lobby. Elevators lined one wall, and he eyed the ceiling, his sharp eyes searching for cameras. There were several.
"Yup. That's the plan," his eyes probed the shadows, "Omega? Can you hack the cameras at the elevators?"
"I am capable of completing the request. Five seconds."
Kit started the clock in his head.
"And what if G.U.N simply doesn't like sharing its top secret information with its much smaller organization?"
Kit bit his lip.
"Then, we'll have to figure that out..." Which meant they'd probably have to break into G.U.N directly.
"Cameras no longer pose a threat. I suggest you proceed quickly."
"I call getting to bust into G.U.N HQ first!"
Kit's snout wrinkled, the voice, besides rudely overlapping Omega's, sounded way too cheerful. He strode forward, hoping no one would see him.
You belong here. You have authority. There's no reason to question you, repeated inside his mind as he straightened his posture and headed toward the wall of elevators.
"I'm not going over this again," he muttered, jabbing the button with his thumb.
"Why not? You seem to be able to go over it every other time I want to have fun."
"Then you know why my answer stays 'no'."
There was a defeated sigh, and Kit almost felt bad as he heard the spark of excitement die out of the voice.
"Okay okay. So, how are you planning to get through the human section?"
A chime sounded and the doors opened smoothly to the sides. Kit stepped in, the warm yellow light greeting him as he jammed the button to close the doors.
"Do you require assistance in locating the computer facility for the human sector?"
Kit exhaled. "Actually- yeah. That would be nice."
"Acknowledged. Pulling up base blueprints."
The elevator doors slid closed and Kit exhaled a breath of relief before unbuckling his belt and slipping his pants down.
"I'm gonna have to disguise myself."
He fiddled with the pant legs, trying to gauge whether one was larger than the other. Dubbing that neither were more favorable than the other, he decided that his left leg would better handle the discomfort he was about to place himself in.
"Disguise? What are you… No. No way. You can't be serious!”
Kit grimaced, twisting around and pulling his soft fox tail into his hands, smoothing the fur down as the elevator smoothly ascended.
"Serious as the last turkey on thanksgiving."
"But- how are you- what about-!"
The panic was overly evident. And it only made Kit more frustrated as he gently pushed his tail into his left pant leg, trying to wrap the appendage around his leg and smooth it down so it was as small as possible.
"Yes I'm fully aware. I'm already working on it."
"Working on it?! What does that even mean?!"
"I am also curious as to the nature of your solution to this problem."
Kit sighed, patting down some of the fur turned backwards in an attempt to make himself as close to comfortable as possible.
"I'm stuffing it in my pant leg."
"And how do you know that'll work?”
Kit tediously began to pull the pants back up, guiding it over the additional appendage.
"I don't. But I don't really have many other ideas."
"Tails,” the voice was dead serious, "If someone notices-“
"They won't."
Kit refastened the pants securely around his waist, straightening and smoothing out the uniform. He took a deep breath, letting it out slow. He didn't have a mirror. The shiny interior of the elevator would have to do.
The elevator slowed to a gentle stop.
Now or never.
He focused on his appearance, imagining a short man. Freckles. Dusty blonde hair with a strawberry tint.
The doors slid open and Kit stiffened. Humans. Walking casually past him. Not giving him a second thought. As their chattering figures retreated down the adjoining hall, Kit poked his head out of the elevator.
"'Mega, you're in the system still?"
"Affirmative. Though I only have limited access."
"Can you see me in the cameras?"
"If you can, pull the feed up here will you 'Mega?"
"Request acknowledged. Processing. Visual connection established."
"Okay, I'm at the elevator. I'm going to step out- you need to tell me if I'm all good to go. Okay?"
"Got it."
"Affirmative."
Kit glanced both ways one last time before timidly stepping out of the safe confines of the metal elevator.
"Well..?" he whispered.
"Well. You did it."
Kit felt a weight slide off his shoulders.
"Perfect." He strode forward more confidently. He belonged here. "Omega? I'll be needing those directions if you don't mind."
"Affirmative. At the next hall take a left."
Kit obeyed.
"You look weird as a human…”
"No criticizing my disguise, I couldn't see myself clearly in the elevator," he turned left, noticing another branching hallway ahead of him, "Turn here?"
"Negative. At the next juncture you will need to take a right."
"Got it."
If the Mobian section of the base was a maze, the human section was a labyrinth. It was frustrating that G.U.P seemed to refuse to use a similar floor plan, making each base uniquely confusing. Even Omega would get him turned around, the blueprints going against what was actually constructed. A couple of times Kit had to nervously pardon himself from suspicious glances, laughing at how confusing the place was for someone so new. Thankfully no one pressed him any further. Content to ignore the idiotic new recruit in favor of getting back to their jobs.
As he walked, Kit kept adding more increments to his height. Slowly growing from a little-more-than-waist-high-midget, to just-a-little-shorter-than-shoulders-average. It was weird seeing the world from a higher height. He could have easily looked over a crowd of average mobians.
Was this how Vector felt..?
"The computer lab is located directly ahead to the left."
It wasn't two seconds after Omega made the comment, that Kit spotted his objective.
Long windows lined the wall giving passersby a clear view into the large room packed full of desks, monitors and humming machinery. There was a station for phone calls, the humans behind those desks outfitted with their own headsets as they clacked away at their computers.
Others sat at their monitors while a human would shuffle papers back and forth, seemingly at random.
Kit knew there had to be a reason so many people were in there at once, he just wished he knew what it was.
He swallowed the nervous lump in his throat and gripped the handle.
"Omega? Can you unlock the door.?"
"I am fully capable. However, doing so may alert security, considering the amount of tampering I have already partaken in."
"And using my Mobian clearance badge would almost definitely alert security. Probably a lot faster than hacking it."
"Tails-"
"Just do it Omega."
"…Unlocking computer room door momentarily."
The light turned green and the handle clicked with the sound of the lock disengaging. Taking a sharp inhale, Kit opened the door and stepped inside. A chorus of tapping keys and mumbling voices enveloped him.
"Careful in there.."
When was he not.?
Kit pushed back the irritation, forcing himself to keep a bored expression.
He belonged here. He'd done this before. There was nothing special or memorable about him.
He slid into an empty space, not daring to look at the human two seats to his right. More humans slid into the room and if Kit had fur it would've bristled and a strange chill skittered down his spine when his ears didn't twitch towards the noise.
His fingers flew across the keyboard. The fur on his tail scraped and poked at his bare, human skin, making his seated position even more itchy and uncomfortable. A bead of nervous sweat dripped down the side of his face as he hacked past G.U.P's firewalls, praying that past at all he would find a mutual server, linking both networks together.
The computer screen lit up, and Kit had to bite back a cheer of victory as relief lifted his heart in a flood of emotion.
"This is it.! I'm in!" He whispered, glancing to his left and right cautiously while he reached into his uniform pocket and pulled out the device from before. Half a second was all he needed to find a port, and the device was plugged in.
He and Omega raced against the clock, checking file after file, folder after folder, digging deeper and deeper into G.U.N.'s database.
Every second that passed felt like a step closer to finding what they were looking for- but for every file they broke into, Kit felt a terrible sense of dread. Every moment he sat there, was a moment more for someone to catch on. For someone in G.U.P defense to realize that a malfunction occurred in the tech lab's door lock. That an unknown AI was surging through their network. That an imposter was surfing their most private, top secret files.
Even worse, Kit was worried that G.U.N would notice someone hacking into their system from within their own child organization. That they'd cut him off. That they'd figure out what he wanted. And then everything would be for naught.
He gnawed his lower lip, fighting back the urge to twist his tail nervously.
He broke into another file, hacking past the protection protocols and 'top secret' failsafes like a technological lumberjack.
The file burst open. A slew of detailed records, journal entries, photos, even clipped videos.
Kit's eyes widened, and he immediately hurried to download the file onto the drive.
Stress crashed against excitement, and he wasn't aware of his foot tapping hurriedly against the floor as he watched the percentage slowly tick upwards.
Finally, after what felt like hours, the computer let out a happy ding. The download bar read 100% and as quickly as it was in, Kit took it out.
His heart pounded in his ears while he wiped the computer, erasing any evidence of his hack, and powered it off. He desperately hoped that he didn't look as panicked as he felt, pushing away from the desk and walking towards the door.
Even striding through the corridors with the drive pressed in his palm was enough to make him feel dizzy.
They did it. Finally, after all these years, they'd found him.

Enhancing the Ride: The Rise of Motorcycle Helmet Audio Systems
Motorcycling is more than just a mode of transportation; it is a lifestyle full of freedom and adventure. For many enthusiasts, the experience of riding can be significantly improved with enhancements, and one such advancement is Motorcycle Helmet Audio systems. These cutting-edge technologies allow riders to stay connected, entertained, and safer on the road.
Gone are the days when an enjoyable ride simply meant the roar of the engine and the wind in your hair. With the integration of audio systems into helmets, bikers can now enjoy their favorite music, listen to GPS instructions, or engage in conversations with fellow riders without losing focus on the road. These systems can be particularly beneficial on long rides where fatigue might set in. A good audio experience helps maintain alertness and enhances the overall enjoyment of the journey.
Tumblr media
One of the key components in any motorcycle helmet audio setup is the Helmet Amplifier. This device ensures that high-quality sound reaches the rider without the interference that can spoil the listening experience. The amplifier can drastically change how sounds are received, helping to deliver crystal-clear audio even at highway speeds. Without a proper amplifier, the ambient noise from the wind and engine can drown out the music or communications, rendering the audio experience nearly useless.
Modern Motorcycle Helmet Audio systems come in various configurations, with options ranging from basic Bluetooth connectivity to sophisticated setups featuring noise-canceling technology. Many models are designed to be completely wireless, minimizing the clutter of wires that can be both cumbersome and dangerous while riding. Bluetooth connectivity allows riders to pair their helmets with smartphones, facilitating hands-free calls, music streaming, and navigation guidance. This level of connectivity redefines the riding experience, as bikers can now remain accessible while keeping their hands on the handlebars and their eyes on the road.
When choosing a Helmet Amplifier system, it's essential to consider compatibility with helmet models and comfort during long rides. Some helmets come pre-equipped with audio systems, while others may require riders to purchase audio kits that fit into existing helmets. Regardless of the choice, comfort, sound quality, and safety should always be top priorities. Additionally, helmets equipped with integrated audio systems tend to be more aerodynamic, which can also improve overall ride safety.
Safety is yet another crucial aspect when involving audio in motorcycle riding. This begs the question: how do you enjoy music or communication without compromising your ability to hear the sounds of the road? Many high-quality audio helmets provide solutions by allowing ambient sounds to filter through the speakers, enabling the rider to stay aware of their surroundings. This is essential because being conscious of other vehicles, emergency sirens, and potential hazards is vital for safe riding.
Moreover, motorcycle helmet audio systems are increasingly becoming an essential accessory for group rides. Riders can communicate seamlessly with one another through intercom functionalities, improving coordination and safety measures. Whether it’s sharing directions, warning each other of road conditions, or simply enjoying a harmonious playlist together, these systems have transformed group rides into more cohesive experiences.
In conclusion, the advent of Motorcycle Helmet Audio systems represents a significant step forward in motorcycle technology. By integrating sound, communication, and safety features into riding gear, manufacturers have elevated what it means to ride a motorcycle to new heights. Riders are now better equipped to enjoy their journeys safely and connect more deeply with their fellow enthusiasts. With the right Helmet Amplifier and audio setup, the open road presents limitless possibilities for both enjoyment and adventure. Embrace the future of motorcycling, and enhance your ride with these innovative audio solutions.

Guardians of Life and Property: A Comprehensive Guide to Fire Safety
Introduction
In the intricate web of safeguarding lives and property, few elements are as crucial as fire safety. Fires, with their unpredictable nature, pose a constant threat to both residential and commercial spaces. Understanding the principles of fire safety, implementing preventive measures, and being prepared for emergencies are key components of creating a secure environment. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the multifaceted aspects of fire safety, from prevention strategies to emergency response, aiming to empower individuals and organizations to navigate the complexities of fire risk.
Tumblr media
Understanding Fire: The Element of Destruction
Fire, a primal force that has shaped human history, is both a servant and a formidable adversary. While it has been harnessed for warmth, cooking, and various industrial processes, its unbridled form can wreak havoc, consuming everything in its path. The fire triangle, comprising fuel, oxygen, and heat, serves as the foundation for understanding how fires ignite and propagate. It is within this context that fire safety measures become essential.
The Three Pillars of Fire Safety
Prevention: Building a Fortress Against Flamesa Risk Assessment: The first step in fire prevention is conducting a thorough risk assessment. Identify potential fire hazards within a space, considering elements such as faulty wiring, flammable materials, or inadequate storage practices.b.
Electrical Safety: A significant percentage of fires are caused by electrical issues. Ensure that wiring is up to code, avoid overloading circuits, and promptly address any malfunctions or damaged electrical components.c.
Flammable Materials Management: Proper storage of flammable materials is paramount. Keep combustible materials away from heat sources, and implement secure storage practices to mitigate the risk of fire spread.d.
Fire-Resistant Building Materials: Incorporating fire-resistant building materials can add an extra layer of protection. This includes fire-rated doors, walls, and ceilings that can withstand the onslaught of flames, providing valuable time for evacuation.e.
Smoking Safety: Smoking-related fires are preventable through designated smoking areas, proper disposal of cigarette butts, and strict adherence to no-smoking policies in high-risk environments.
Preparedness: Equipping for the Unforeseen
Fire Safety Training: Education is a cornerstone of preparedness. Conduct regular fire safety training for occupants, employees, and residents. This includes familiarizing them with evacuation routes, proper usage of fire extinguishers, and emergency protocols.
Emergency Response Plans: Develop comprehensive emergency response plans that outline evacuation procedures, assembly points, and communication strategies. Regularly practice these plans through fire drills to ensure swift and efficient responses during real emergencies.
Fire Safety Equipment: Install and maintain fire safety equipment, including smoke detectors, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers. Regularly test alarms and ensure that extinguishers are in working order, with visible and accessible locations.
First Aid Training: First aid training is essential for dealing with injuries that may occur during a fire or evacuation. Designate individuals with first aid skills and ensure that first aid kits are readily available.e.
Communication Systems: Establish robust communication systems to relay emergency information quickly and efficiently. This includes intercoms, emergency broadcast systems, and communication channels for emergency responders.
Response:
Calm Amidst Chaosa. Evacuation Protocols: During a fire, a structured and orderly evacuation is paramount. Clearly mark evacuation routes, provide visible exit signs, and ensure that occupants are familiar with primary and alternative escape paths.b.
Emergency Services Coordination: Coordinate with local emergency services to enhance response times. Provide them with access to building plans, utility shut-off locations, and other pertinent information to facilitate their efforts.c.
Accountability: Establish accountability measures to track the evacuation of occupants. This ensures that everyone has evacuated safely and allows for the prompt identification of anyone who may be missing.d.

Triage [FF7: Rufus/Reader]
Tumblr media
A/N: This is based more on the events in the original FF7 and NOT Remake! The guard dog with Rufus is named Dark Nation in the original game and can be killed. Dark Star is in Remake~
Word Count:  1730
--
Right when you clicked the button to clock out, the doors burst open. A man was covered in blood. Some of it looked like it was his own, but most of it looked like the guard dog in his arms. Your hands shot over towards the phone.
“Triage: code red. Gurney needed!” you exclaimed over the intercom and slammed the phone back down.
You ran through the doors separating you from the front desk and the rest of the lobby. You were about to try and take the guard dog away from the man when the vet techs burst through rolling a table. The dog was placed on the gurney and quickly rolled back towards treatment.
“Sir, let me get some information from you,” you stated and leaned over the counter to grab a clipboard. “We’ll go to room 2 to wait.” You quickly led him away from the lobby that had large puddles of blood.
You opened the door to an examination room and had him sit on the bench. He silently took the clipboard and pen from you. With one glance, you noticed he was indeed bleeding. Large lacerations covered different parts of his body.
“Shit. I’ll be right back with a first-aid kit,” you shouted as you ran out of the room. You nearly slammed into the door leading behind the front desk. Quickly, you opened a cabinet and grabbed the first-aid kit. You sprinted back, avoiding the puddles of blood.
“I’m sorry for the wait,” you gasped out and placed the first-aid kit on the examination table. You quickly washed your hands at the sink and then slipped on a pair of surgical gloves. “My name is [Y/N], I’m certified in first-aid. It looks like you have several lacerations, can I treat you until you can get better care?”
The man was silent as stared down at the form. There were some bits and pieces of information, but his hand was shaking. He couldn’t make anything he was writing to appear legible.
“Sir?” you asked softly and approached. “I can fill that out for you. But first, you need to get your wounds treated.” There was more silence. Slowly, you approached him and knelt down so you could look up into his eyes. “Sir, can you hear me?” Your mind was racing, thinking that he could possibly be in shock.
“Yes,” he stated in a soft tone. “I can hear you.”
“Okay, can I treat you?”
“Fill out the form first.”
“But—”
“You do not have my consent until that form is filled out and given to whoever needs it.”
You hesitated, but nodded and grabbed the pen. “Okay. What is your name?”
“Rufus Shinra.”
You blinked and looked away from the form and back at the man. He did look like the president. But no one has really seen Rufus for a few years while he was away on a business trip. Shaking your head, you continued to collect information on him and his guard dog.
“Dark Nation,” he stated when you asked for the name. Though, his voice broke ever so slightly when he gave more information on him.
“What happened to him?” you asked just above a whisper, not wanting to further upset the man that was struggling to keep it together.
“A fight ensued between us and an individual from the terrorist group, Avalanche.”
“My god,” you whispered. “Alright, the form is filled out. I’ll just take your signature to consent to treat and our critical care with CPR.” You handed him the form which he quickly signed. “I’m going to run this back and then I’ll be back to patch you up, okay?” He didn’t respond, just looked down at his hands that were covered in Dark Nation’s blood. “Do you want me to grab you some water or tea or something?” He shook his head.
Taking a deep breath, you quickly left and swiped your card to get into the treatment area. A vet and a tech were already in surgical garments. They glanced over to you and nodded their heads in approval when you flipped through the forms to show them that they could continue.
You walked away from the surgical area and towards the back with foods and medications. There was a wire shelf that held dozens of blankets. Most of the time, they were for euthanasia clients to help comfort them and the animal. But now, you figured that the man who no one has ever seen cry or bleed, the man who was starting to break down could use one.
“Alright,” you announced your entrance into the examination table. “They’re working on Dark Nation right now.” You walked over to the man and placed the blanket next to him. “Now, can I patch you up?”
Rufus didn’t meet your eyes. He only nodded his head numbly. Taking a deep breath, you disposed of the gloves you were wearing, washed your hands again, and put on a fresh pair of gloves. It was a waste, but the risk of infection was too great.
You quickly opened up the first-aid kit and grabbed disinfectant, butterfly bandages, gauze, and wraps. While you were organizing everything, you asked him the necessary questions: was he allergic to anything, what medications was he taking, what his medical history was, when did he last eat or drink, and what were his injuries? You started to work on the cut on arm. It was the one bleeding the most. Though, you had to help get his coat off and used scissors to cut off the sleeve.
“You’ll probably need stitches,” you muttered more to yourself than him. You grabbed the disinfectant. “This might sting a little, sorry.” You poured some of the disinfectant on a thing of gauze and gently dabbed at the wound. It bubbled ever so slightly, but Rufus didn’t even flinch. Taking a fresh thing of gauze, you held it firmly against the wound with one hand and awkwardly wrapped it.
“I’ll apply butterfly bandages in a little bit, but I’m going to work on your other wounds while the bleeding slows.” You were met with silence. You looked at his face. He was biting his lip tightly. So much so that it was starting to bleed.
“Hey, hey,” you whispered and took a hold of his shoulders. “Don’t hurt yourself more. We have some very skilled vets here that will do everything they can for Dark Nation, okay?”
“My father died tonight.” You looked up at him with alarm, but he continued. “My mother’s been dead. Same with my older half-brother. Why would this be any different?”
Taking a deep breath, you grabbed another gauze of disinfectant and started to work on a cut above his eyebrow. “I don’t know if this will be any different,” you stated honestly. “But I’ve seen some animals come back from a lot worse.” You moved some hair out of his face. “It might not be much, but I’ll stay here with you, okay? I’ll help you get through this.”
He was silent once more, but his lip wasn’t being abused. You continued to clean and dress his wounds. He’d need to see a doctor, but he would refuse to leave the veterinary hospital. The wounds would scar, but he’d live. There was also the matter of the blood from Dark Nation that you had to clean up. You did your best to get it off of his skin, but his white suit was stained.
“All done,” you whispered and went to take off your gloves and wash your hands. You moved back over to him and draped the blanket around his shoulders. With a sigh, you sat next to him.
After a moment or two, he finally spoke. “Don’t you have other work that needs to be done?” He was quiet. It was almost as though if he spoke any louder, he’d break down into tears.
“I clocked out just before you came in.” You closed your eyes and listened to the clock ticking. It was a ten-hour shift that you clocked out of, so you were exhausted. But now it was nearing eleven hours that you were at work. With what was going on, you’d probably be here for a couple more.
“Thank you.”
You looked over to the man. His hands were shaking again. Hesitantly, you took a hold of his hand and gave it a squeeze. He turned his hand over and returned the gesture.
A knock on the door caused him to quickly pull his hand away. You looked up seeing the vet come in. She held a clipboard and was free of the surgical gown she was wearing a while ago.
“How’s it go--? [Y/N]? Shouldn’t you be home?”
“It’s fine. I clocked out. He’s a friend, so I’m just staying here to make sure he’s okay.”
“If you say so.” She eyed you with suspicion. “Anyways, we believe Dark Nation is currently stable. We did, however, had to do a blood transfusion. With the amount of blood he lost, we want to keep him on a twenty-four-hour hold to keep an eye on his condition. We also want to place him on antibiotics with how many cuts he had and possible exposure. He’ll also do better if he’s on pain medication for a while. We’ll need about three weeks before his stitches can be removed, so you’ll need to keep a close eye on them.”
“That’s fine.”
“Alright, I’ll just have you sign here and we’ll need to collect the low-end estimate as a deposit. You’ll be good to go after that. We’ll call you with updates. If you have any questions, you can always call us, too.”
Rufus pulled out a card and signed a consent form. Though his signature wasn’t too legible, it was more than his earlier one. The vet left with the card to run the charge and quickly returned. With a brief farewell, she was gone.
You were about to stand form the bench to go home, but froze when you heard his breath stutter. Glancing over, you saw his face was in his hands. A clear drop fell from a gap between his fingers. With a soft smile, you turned your body towards him and pulled him into a hug.
“Thank you,” he whispered and continued to quietly weep.

Tumblr media
The feeling of being useless was horrible. There laid Gunther’s lifeless body-leaning against the blood soaked wall. The hallway was once sparking with violence and fighting it felt so hollow to you and so quiet.
“Oh my God.” You gasped, covering your mouth with your hand. “I can’t believe this happened.”
The tips of Gunter’s fingers were turning blue and his hands were as cold as ice as you held onto it tightly.
“Y/N,” Levi coughed out raspy. “Y/N.”
You wiped your tears away and slid towards Levi. You looked at his face then saw his wound. There was a orange size burn-from the saliva of the alien-that was red and a rash. It was splayed across his ankle and was oozing.
“You’re going to be alright. How bad does it hurt?”
“Not that bad,” he winced. You could tell he was holding it in. He was trying to be strong for the mission.
You rummaged through the first aid kit. In there was a bottle of pain pills, Band-Aids, and a cream to help with bacteria and burns. “Take some of these,” you popped the pills in his mouth. “This should help with the ache.” You splattered some cream onto your hand and evenly spread it on the burn. Levi barely moved a muscle. His strength was truly evident. You wrapped his ankle with some gauze and your gaze met his. Your heart became still. His features were handsome to his thick, black, long eyelashes to his soft looking lips.
You shook your head, tearing the day dreams away from your mind. “You think you can stand?”
“I think so.” Levi gripped the wall as he pushed himself up. He stood up and took one step, leading him slipping to the ground.
You caught him in your arms and guided his arm atop your shoulders. “I got you,” you smiled small. “Let’s try to get to shelter and take a breather.”
You didn’t know what was next. What the plan was. All you worried about was now but the thought of how you were going to survive replayed. You saw many outcomes of you dying and everything seemed impossible. To everyone you portrayed this know it all, knowing every step you took but in reality you were a lost soul.
Turning a corner was a double bed room for the workers. “Sit here.” Levi laid back in the bottom bunk bed. Pain evident, slightly, on his features. In quick motions you gathered items around the room to place in front of the door, barricading it in case any monsters tried to get through. “I think we’re good.” Sweat dripped down your neck.
You sat opposite from Levi on the other bottom bunk. You noticed Levi sweating as well, his face red. Touching his forehead, you realized he was burning up. “Not good,” you told yourself more than him. Grabbing a glass of water you led him to drink water, hoping that would help. “I’m in fear the venom is getting in through the skin to your blood.” You tapped your lip in thought.
“Great,” Levi scoffed.
“What do you mean?”
Levi sat up. “I need you to promise me something Y/N. If I don’t make it, finish the mission and save those that need help.”
You sat in front of him and grabbed his cold hands. “You’re not dying. I’m not letting you.” The thought made your lips tremble as your e/c eyes became glassy.
“Just promise me,” Levi’s calloused hands rose to your cheeks, wiping your scared tears that escaped your captivity of your eyes. “Please Y/N. I need you to be okay?”
“...Okay,” you breathed out.
“I know you’re scared but I don’t think you know how capable you are. You are made of greatness Y/N. You can do this, with or without me.” Levi laid back and tried to get some sleep.
You walked to the window showing space. A vast area that sometimes is made up of unknown. Scared was an understatement. You didn’t know what that ‘thing’ was, where it had come from and why was it here? There were so many missing pieces to the puzzle.
You couldn’t help but want to discover more to this mystery and you couldn’t just sit there and do nothing while your friend laid there dying. If this monster was on Marley and it was going to show its face more often you needed tools. You couldn’t bare being defenseless against that thing. “I’m coming back Levi,” you saluted to him. “I promise, just be patient.”
You checked the map of the ship and noticed the weapons room was far north away. It was on the opposite of the ship. “Are you kidding me?”
As you raced to your destination you saw all the damage that was on Marley. So many wires were pulled and sparks exploded, scaring you. The thought came up of what if you hadn’t had taken this job? Would you still be in your garage being a mechanic? There was some sneaky stuff happening and some things didn’t feel right? Then you thought of Annie and the fear she must be feeling. What if she was dead? You had to know, you had to see if!
Finally you had made it to the warehouse but the gate was locked. “Hmmm? Maybe there’s an issue with the power?” You checked the computer system nearby and saw all the power was made to keep the vents open. It was either the vents or this gate. “I’m going to close the vents.” You locked in the correct kep numbers. The gate opened wide and you stealthily walked in to not grab attention.
You took a step and a loud bang was heard across the room. Your pulse quickened and your mouth became dry. You tore up boxes and compartments and they were empty except one at the very end. There was no cover there so if the alien was with you it would see you. ‘I have to be quick,’ you thought.
You rolled to that area and looked to find a motion detector, a flamethrower and items to make a molotov. Now you felt more confident. “Finally,” you got set on making the molotov. But you didn’t feel the presence behind of the alien growing tall and hovering behind you. It roared loud, baring its teeth.
You turned back and screamed, dropping the weapons. You were going to crawl away when a shot ringed your ears. You looked up to see a wounded Levi shooting at the alien.
“Levi?!? What are you doing?”
“Just run! I got it!” Levi repeatedly shot at the monster, calling it to him. “Yeah, come this way.”
You quickly grabbed the weapons and ran to the vents to jump in it. “Cuss!” The latch was locked in order to get in the vents. You then remembered you closed the vents which means the alien was in here with you the whole time. “Levi the vents are closed! I gotta go back to the systems and open it up! You keep him distracted!”
“Isn’t that what I’m doing?!?” Levi was up against this huge creature.
Running with all your might back to the computers you typed in that the gate would shut and the vents would open. Levi was still stuck in the warehouse. “Levi get out of there!” You had your hand out.
Levi ran backwards shooting vigorously at the monster. “Close it! Close it!”
You punched in the numbers and Levi ran past the gate, it was a hair away from closing on him. It instead closed on the alien. The alien was caught in between. His hands were trying to bust the gate open.
“Climb! Climb!” You ushered Levi to get up the ladder to get to the vent. Levi climbed up and offered his hand to you. You took it climbing and the alien grabbed onto your legs, pulling you. You tried and you tried with all your might. Veins protruding and teeth clenching. With a roar you and Levi pulled away from the alien and climbed in the vents. They were tiny and cramped.
You both walked on your hands and knees to get through.
“If we take two rights and 4 lefts then we should be at the room we were at.” You recalled from the map.
“What the cuss was that?”
You shrugged, “I needed to get items.”
“Yeah, you could of died.”
“You just told me I could do this without you and now you don’t want me to. Which is it Levi? Because I’m getting very confused!”
Levi shook his head, “Yes, I remember what I said but you idiot but you don’t have any weapons. What would you have done if I wasn’t there?”
“Fought the best I could. I know I can do this. You don’t have to worry so much.”
Levi scoffed and led the way.
You sighed, “you’re right. I should of had some type of weapon, that was dumb. But I got a ton. Now we can defiantly use these against him.”
“What did you get?”
You showed him all that you had found. “Pretty neat huh. We get to use these bad boys on that son of a cuss.”
Levi couldn’t help but smile at how brave you were and ruffled your head, “just, please be careful next time. Okay?”
Finally, you and Levi made it to the end of the vent. Jumping out and now creating a new plan to exterminate the alien.
The fuzziness of the voice on the intercom blared loudly. Who was still alive? It took a second for someone to speak. “Is that Annie?” Your ears were open.
“Levi and Y/N, it’s Reiner... if you’re still alive please, meet up with me at the control base. I, I need to show you two something. ASAP!” Then it shut off like it never was turned on in the first place.
“What if- what if something is wrong? Maybe he found Annie?”
“Or killed that thing,” Levi suggested.
Tumblr media
Making to the control base wasn’t easy. You had to be on the look out for the alien. Any sound you made came with gut wrenching fear. At one point you were even certain that your heart pounding would be too loud and it would hear you. Every moment spent alive was a miracle.
There was a large wall of glass separating you both from Reiner. Unknowing you were present, he was facing the glass, sitting on a chair, focusing on the computers. He seemed not stressed at all. You would think because his friend and fellow ship mate was taken or dead that he would be more on his toes but he seemed not worried about a thing. Maybe he didn’t really like to show emotion. It was true that being emotional at the moment there was no time. Your eyes traveled up to see his back was facing a huge vent.
“He’s really stupid isn’t he?” Levi knocked on the glass to get Reiner’s attention.
Reiner ushered you both over.
“Any news?” Reiner and you said in unison.
“You first,” Reiner said.
“Well,” you threw all your weapons on the counter top near the computers set up. “We went to the weapon base and contained all these! We didn’t realize the moment we stepped on Marley that we were gonna need such heavy equipment.”
“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” Reiner stood up and faced away from the two of you, as if he was disappointed in himself. “I know you all have many questions.”
“That’s an understatement,” Levi sat, annoyed. “Why did you bring us here Reiner? It seems like you want to get something off your chest.”
Reiner turned around, seeming so stoic. “I want to tell you two how this thing got on here.”
It was the question you were thinking about the whole time you were here.“Yeah, what did you mean that it started with Ymir? Who’s Ymir?”
“Ymir was one of our ship mates. See when we first were dispatched on this mission we were told that we were going to different planets to find life. We went to what we named planet 13. Me, Annie, my friend Bertholdt and Ymir went and it seemed fine at first but then we found some...eggs.”
“Eggs?” Levi questioned.
“Eggs. I was taking some samples when I heard a scream and Ymir had touch one of the eggs. It was on her face and we took her to the medical bay to get her back to her health. But we didn’t know that she would never get better and as I was running tests on her the thing came out of her chest. It was, so confusing. We didn’t know what to do. It escaped and that’s where we’re at now.”
You were shocked. “Now I have more questions than answers.”
“Cuss,” Levi muttered under his breath, not knowing what other move to make.
“We need to learn more about this creature, do you happen to know Reiner if this is the only one or are there more on here?”
“The one-” Reiner was starting but then the computers started beeping.
“What’s that?” Levi pointed to the map on the screen. “What are those ripples and dots?”
Reiner sprinted to the chair and checked the monitor, “cuss. It’s another shower, it’s gonna be longer and much stronger than the last one.”
“What do we do?” Your balance is thrown off when one or a few meteorites hits Marley. The ship starts beeping, alarming guests. “What happened?”
“It’s made a huge hole.”
“Where?” Levi looked at the model on the computer screen.
Reiner pointed to the head of ship. “We need to fix it quick or else it will ruin the whole ship.”
“I got this.” Levi grabbed a few of the weapons and was about to exit but fell due to his injuries.
“Levi!” You ran to his aid and lifted his trousers. It was starting to look infected and you could tell it was affecting him because his lips were turning white and he had more bags under his eyes. “You’re not well.”
“I’m fine,” Levi tried getting up but fell in your arms.
“You’re not going anywhere. You will stay here and wait for me. I’ll patch up the hole.” You took the weapons away from Levi.
“No Y/N!”
“Are you sure Y/N? It could be dangerous.” Reiner said.
You rolled your eyes, “Just watch the cussed thing.” You grabbed a walkie-talkie and threw one at Reiner. “Keep me updated please.”
“The same to you.”
You ran to the head of the ship, using your motion detector to make sure the alien wasn’t near you. It was odd how it wasn’t busy like it usually was. Something was wrong.
‘Is this thing broken?’ You asked yourself as you smacked the machine. “Ok, Reiner, where is the hole?”
“You’re near it. You have to make 3 lefts and it’s by the electric pad made for that area.”
“Alright,” you whispered and all of a sudden a loud bang was heard nearby. You quickly built a molotov and held your flamethrower in front of your chest, pointing it forward. You hated this playing game. If it was going to hunt you down, you were ready to face it. But nonetheless you moved on stealthily. The wooshing of the air leaving and space pulling everything out notified you that the hole was there. “I see the hole!”
Reiner continued talking while your motion detector started to beep rapidly. Your face turned into horror and something pulled you towards them. You screamed loud and could hear Reiner and Levi on the other end.
“Y/N? Y/N!”
You looked behind and saw it was the alien dragging you towards the hole. You kicked it in the eye and went to get your flamethrower but you realized it had fallen when you were dragged and it was on the floor far away.
“Come on!” You were in survival mode as you kept kicking with all your might. You got a good blow as you kicked it in the throat. You crawled to the flamethrower and as the alien was about to pounce on you, you produced flames, almost killing it.
“Yeah, get back!”
It was now trapped. You held the trigger of the flamethrower as long as you could, backing it up more and more to the hole. You were going to kick it out.
The space was pulling and you had to hold onto a medal bar attached the wall. Because of the strength the bar was slipping and almost detached. The alien tried to hold onto that as well but instead held onto your leg. You pointed the flamethrower at it and it ended up losing fuel. The alien smiled wide and crawled up your leg, now face to face with you.
“No!”
The alien tried to stab you with its claws but you punched its hands away, getting bruised. It brought it’s tail up and was about to stab your stomach, when you pulled, with all your strength, the metal bar that was attached to the wall, that you were holding onto. Nothing was holding you back from being sucked out into space. You were willing to risk your life to kill this thing. You lifted the bar high in the air and struck it repeatedly on his face. You both were falling, almost reaching the blackness and stars. When you pulled from your pocket a made molotov and threw it at it. It shrieked and exploded as it got sucked out.
You were almost getting sucked out when you held onto a corner of the wall and grabbed a piece of metal and shucked it to the hole, covering it. You fell to the floor and went to screw that piece of metal to that hole. You smiled, proud of yourself. You killed the alien and patched up the hole.
“I did it guys! I’m alright!”
There was no answer from them, just only static.
Your lips quivered as you didn’t think of nobody else except Levi.
As you walked upon the control base, it looked like a disaster. All the computers were thrown off and everything was moved, misplaced, and just thrashed every where. What’s worse there was no signs of Reiner or Levi anywhere.

Queen concerts were also successful beause of those guys!
Tumblr media
Scroll if you want to learn who these guys are and what they did. You will also read about a Lord, a henna user, who had best haircut and Queen’s favorite food. (I wrote in bold letters the parts about Queen members and some funny facts.)
1. a"rigger". They assemble the stage (all 6000 square feet of it). Sometimes this can take two days, so there are two stages on this European tour. While one is being taken down at one venue, the other is being assembled at the next.
2 another "rigger".
3 John "Tumbridge" Wells, one of the security men responsible for looking after the members of Queen. "Tumbridge" looks after Brian May, escorts him wherever he goes and keeps the fans from getting too close.
4 Wally Gore group security, he looks after John Deacon
5 Alex Alexandrou, carpenter. There's two of us, and we put up all the stage scenery. I put up the walkways around the back and sides of the stage wich Freddie runs along. He likes to run on carpet, so I have to lay that down everywhere.
6. Chris "Crystal" Taylor, group coordinator. He organises all of the personal Queen crew, roadies, the security men. He makes sure they all know what they have to do and when they have to do it.
7. Jim Deveney, monitor engineer. "I sit out of sight on stage. I have to make things sound good so that the band can hear what they're doing. The sound comes through these speakers called "monitors" wich face onto the stage. The worst act I ever worked for was Rod Stewart. He was really miserable.
8. Joe Fanelli, Freddie's main personal assistant, who cooks for him at his London Home. "He likes anything really exotic, North African food, curries, good French cooking. He hates veal and doesn't eat carrots. Lambs is a bit iffy too. Brian's vegetarian but he eats fish. John likes very simple food, pie and mash and Roger likes anything but lamb.
9. Tony Williams, in charge of Queen's wardrobe. "I have to look after all of the band's stage clothes. That includes lots of details like making sure all the changes of clothes they need are backstage (Freddie changes about three times each performance), labelling the band's stage shoes (because they all wear the same stripey Adidas), and looking after Freddie's special moustache scissors. Also I have to wash all of their clothes in my hotel bedroom. My bath is always full. And Brian May has been using all this red henna do dye his hair and it comes out all over his shirts. It's very hectic".
10. Brandan Hyland, group security
11. One of the 15 "truckers" who each drive a massive 40 feet lorry loaded up with sound and lighting equipment.  (For extra money they also operate the spotlights wich "follow" the group around stage).
12. Brian "Jobby" Zellis. one of Queen's personal road crew.
13 Brian May, Queen's guitarist.
14 John "Moxy" Glover, Roger Taylor's personnal roadie. "Basically I have to look after his drum kit and set it up on stage. I have to keep him supllied with drum sticks. He has sticks made with his own name on and he uses about ten sets  a show. I got a bit drunk with Status Quo's roadies in Paris earlier this tour, and started throwing all his sticks in the audience.
15. Terry Giddings, group security.
16. Dieter Breit, physiotherapist for the group and crew. He has to look after any sprains and injuries that anybody might suffer, e.g. a sprained guitar-playing finger which needs massaging on Brian May's valuable hand.
17. A lighting assistant.
18. A "rigger"
19. Peter "Ratty" Hince, one of Queen's personal road crew. "I have to look after John Deacon's bass guitars and Freddie's guitar and special radio microphones (the one that don't have a fead) and keyboard instruments. I have to make sure that everything is exactly where it should be on stage, otherwise Freddie particularly will glare and let me know if anything's wrong. He's very particular about things being just right. Personally I don't enjoy these tour as much as the old ones. Nowadays ther's too much equipment, too many hangers-on, and everybody's trying to be important."
20. John "Collie" Collins, one of Queen's personnal road crew. "I'm the spare man, really. I work with Ratty  and the piano tuner, help to see that everything is where it should be at the right time. Do you know I got married yesterday! I celebrated the wedding with the band and crew. It had to be squeezed in during the tour.
21. Roger Taylor, Those "shades"! That turned up collar! Must be Queen's drummer.
22. A trucker
23. Another trucker.
24. A rigger.
25. Another rigger
26 John Deacon, youn know , Queen's bass player, the one with the good haircut.
27 Tom "Midget" Foehlinger, sound monitor
28 An unknown person who sneaked in
29 Mickey Conafray, trucker
30 Mick Riddle, caterer
31 A lighting assistant
32 Albert Sutton, truck driver. "I carry the sound system, or some of it. We don't see the band or the road crew most of the time, because we travel ahead of everyone else. We have to get to the site before they do, and although we help with the setting up, we're off for two days while the rest of them are working on the concert. There are 15 "truckers" on this tour, plus the bus wich takes the road crew and sometimes the band. The worst thing about this job is being away from home for a long time when you're on tour. And the best thing is...erm maybe that should be a secret".
33. A caterer
34 Dave Lewis, another Caterer
35 A sound monitor.
36 Stave Benjamins, one of Queen's personal road crew, or "roadies" as they hate to be called. They look after all the instruments, microphones and amplifiers which Queen use on stage, setting them up, tuning them, and keep them clean.
37. another trucker"
38. Dave Thomas, caterer. I've been catering for Queen since 1975, every tour. The band eat the same food as everyone else, but they do have certain favorite foods. After a show they usually like an omelette or sometimes beans on toast or occasionally a steak au poivre. They're also pretty fond of Indonesian cooking".
39. Rex Ray, second sound engineer. He mixes the sound for all the support groups.
40. Spike Edney, keybordist and second guitar player: " My biggest fear is that it might get too damp, which makes the synthesisers cut out. I just pray that I'm out of clouting range of Freddie if that happens. He might not realise why I'm not playing and he'd be very upset if he thought I was daydreaming of something. But Queen on the whole are great to work with and they get drunk a lot too. Champagne every night, it's great!
41. Simon tutchener, lighting director. "I operate the main lighting console during the concert. It took three weeks to rehearse. I have a crew who set all the lights up, and 14 spotlights operators who I control through an intercom system and one man on a "Ver-lite", plus a man on the colour changer computer, plus a man on a computer which controls the up and down movement of the whole lighting rig, and then there are a few bits on stage, including Brian May special spaceship thing which comes down during his solo spot with all the flashing lights and..." (that's quite enought about lighting. Ed)
42 Stage rigger, who helps to set up the 6000 square feet of stage (all carpetted)
43 Sylvia Reed, assistant to the tour manager, Gerry Stickells. She is really a personal secretary.
44. James "Trip" Khalaf, chief sound enginer: "I mix the live sound for Queen, and I'm in overall charge for the half a million watts of PA (ie sound system. pa means Public adress) that we're carting around.
45. Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury. You know him. Freddie.
46. "Phoebe", one of Freddie's personal assistants. These people help to arrange Sir Frederick's day, making sure he gets to appointments on time, and taking care of all those little details, which keep him happy.
47. A rigger
48. Lyndsey Beckingham, caterer. One of a team of five who feed the crew and the group. The caterers have their own van to transport all the food, cookers and fridges necessary to feed up to 60 people three times a day.
49 Bill Louthe, sound monitor. One of the assistants to the chief sound engineer, who sets up the massive sound system making sure it works perfectly, and run around while Queen are on stage, putting things right ( like tangled wiring) and making sure that there are no problems which could cause any deterioration of the sound quality.
50. Dave Mills, head of backstage and front of stage security. "My job is to stop any skirmishes or fights by pulling people out, people who faint, and putting in the hands of the first aid people. Earlier on this tour, in Dublin, I pulled out a young man whose ear was barely hanging on by a thread, probably because some idiot threw a glass."
51 Gerry Stickells, tout manager. The most important poeple on the tour. He looks after the road crew, from the lighting team to caterers; hiring them, making sure that they're paid and that everyone's alright. (he even remembers every crew member's birthday, making a fuss of them so they get too miserable). The other important thing he does is to go out months before the tour to look at the planned concert sites and to make all the thousands of arrangements that need to be made in advance. He's been working with acts like Rod Steward and Elton John and has organised Queen's road tour for 11 years. "They have to be highly-strung crazy people, they have to in order to ware themselves up to perform. So I admire them, yes. But I wouldn't want to socialise with them. Soon as this tour is over I'll go home and watch television."
52 Mike Weisman, production and stage manager. "I'm in charge of seeing that the stage and scenery is all but together properly. We work all day to get everything right. I have to coordinate all the work of the riggers and carpenters."

Voltron: Next Generation
First Encounter: I
Word Count: 2800
“Out of all the stupid, idiotic things you could’ve done, launching us into space and light years away from the Milky Way takes the cake, Kenneth!”
Kova had directed most of her anger and annoyance into Kenneth, who had been placed into zip-tie handcuffs and sat into a chair in front of the windows.
“I mean, your grandfather, uncle, and mother were all brilliant and accomplished engineers by the time they were your age. Your mother was flipping fifteen-years-old when she piloted a giant lion-shaped war machine!” Caleb scoffed in the background. Kova turned around to glare at him. “You’re next.” She pointed at him. Caleb’s scoff turned to visible discomfort.
"The basement was only accessible to higher-ups. What'd you do? Steal your granddad's access key, snuck onto the Coeus on the off-chance there was something still functioning so you could go back to the Holts and say you repaired a forgotten battleship?" Kova was taking deep breaths again, her face losing the red tint of anger, although her light brown eyes were still as fierce.
"Yeah." Kenny winced, already cringing from Kova's reaction. "All of that, in order." Kova had never been so livid.
"Kovalia, attack without being provoked and expect your benefits to disappear." Shiro had never sounded so stern. Kova took a breath, stepping back to merge beside the other teens, who were lined up behind her. Allie and Cake were to Kova's left, while Liz and Caleb stood on her right. With a sigh, Shiro stood from his chair, striding over to Kenny.
"Kenny, you're twenty-six. You make do with what you have. Did you have to steal Commander Holt's key?"
"Who is he, exactly?" Allie whispered in Kova's ear. Kova had crossed her hands behind her back, a soldier ready for orders when Allie asked her question.
The teens had taken off their helmets, wearing only their suits. They weren't able to finish their exploration of the ship, only being able to turn on lights, keep a steady oxygen supply, and meet up in the bridge for Kenny's scolding. No one had explained Kenny's existence to Allie, and Kova shouldn't have been as shocked as she was.
Stepping out of line, Kova walked towards a screen and loaded info onto it. A larger screen appeared behind Kenny, showing the information Kova was loading onto her small screen.
"Kovalia." Shiro was serious, and Kova winced at his reaction.
"I have a feeling Allie isn't the only one who doesn't know who Kenny is." Kova tried to explain, holding her hands up in defeat.
With a sigh, Shiro let Kova take the floor.
"Kenneth Samuel Kogane is the second-born son of Keith Kogane and Katie Holt." The images on the screen changed as Kova began to speak. With Kenny sitting in front of the screen, two lines split from Kenny and moved up into two separate images. To the left, a man with pale skin, long black hair, and Kenny's blue eyes stared at the camera with a frown. To the right, a woman with shoulder-length brown hair, round brown eyes covered by glasses, and a smile.
From the woman, another line connected her to an older man. "Samuel Holt, Katie's father, was the engineer assigned to the Kerberos mission about thirty years ago, along with Commander Holt's son, Matthew Holt, and Garrison pilot Takashi Shirogane." The pictures on the screen were from the killed in action reports from the same time. All the teens except for Caleb and Kova were shocked at Shiro's picture. In the picture, Shiro had black hair, and the scar on his nose was gone. Caleb thought his dad looked like a teenager, but that was a talk for another day. Kova was still talking. "After the disbanding and disappearance of Voltron and its lions, the former pilots began to lead a life with a higher ranking. Keith Kogane was the former pilot of the Red Lion and later the pilot of the Black Lion, while Katie, often referred to by 'Pidge', piloted the Green Lion."
"Uh, question." Liz had her hand up, like a kid in a classroom hoping to get called by the teacher. Kova's nod was cue enough for Liz to continue. "Your parents are former members of Voltron?"
"My dad is a former member, too." Cake pointed out.
"Our dad used to pilot the Black Lion before Keith." Caleb pointed out, too. Coincidence? Liz thought not.
"Kenny's brilliant, but even I can admit a ship is too big of a task." Kova was bent over the chair, staring right at Kenny. "Even I wouldn't be able to fix it alone." Kenny rolled his eyes around the bridge, fully operational. "Hey, don't pin the ship working just on me. Liz and Allie helped while Cake chased you around and Caleb was ready to catch you." Kenny's slumped into his chair, hoping the floor would swallow him whole.
"I didn't think you'd come down here," Kenny muttered. "Go down there, you know what I mean!"
"Kenneth, that isn't an excuse for stealing Commander Holt's access key." Shiro was staring out the glass. He hadn't seen the stars and darkness surrounding them in years. Behind him, Kova slinked back to her spot between Allie and Caleb. With two stomps to the floor, four of the five teens stood at attention. Allie tried to copy as best as she could but flinched at Shiro's gaze. Kova and Shiro's eyes met. Kova was the first to lower her head, awaiting orders.
"Can someone uncuff me now?" Kenny whined. Shiro sighed, stepping towards Kenny and his chair. The screen behind him turned off, allowing for more of the galaxy to be visible.
"Caleb, uncuff Kenny." Shiro began his onslaught of commands. "Liz, keep exploring. Let's get a more accurate floor plan. Cake, get started in the engine room. Take Kenny." Caleb, Allie, and Kova stood on the deck; none of them knew what Shiro had planned. With Liz and Cake gone, Shiro faced the three teens. Well, two teens and a kid. "Allie, you can unpack now. Kova and Caleb will help." Their eyes wandered to the giant backpack, sitting in the chair of the nearest screen.
Unpacking the bag took longer than expected.
Okay, that's a lie. It took just as long as expected.
They had it sorted into four piles: Clothes, first aid, spare parts, and snacks. Each kid had three full changes of clothes and underwear, vacuum-packed at the bottom of the bag. The first aid pile varied between the pocket-sized kits to a larger red duffel bag full of bandages and gauze. The spare parts pile had a screwdriver set with interchangeable heads, the zip ties, the hammer, the pliers, and spools of different kinds of wires. Let's not mention the screws and tape. The snacks were packed by Cake with input from Liz. Ranging from bags of pretzels to packets of fizzy pop rocks candy, there was more than enough for everyone. Shiro was the only one who didn't have an extra change of clothes, but as he shrugged off his gray coat, revealing a black tank top showing off his huge biceps. Shrugging his shoulders, he said he had done it before. The teens stared at him like he had grown another head.
"What if I build a satellite?" Kova asked, staring at Caleb.
"Again?" Kova nodded her head, making Caleb roll his eyes. "You could, I don't know, find another way of intergalactic communication, like a phone on board." Kova sat on her haunches, crossing her arms over her chest with lips pouted.
"You're no fun." Dropping her arms, Kova stood on her feet. "And anyway, this ship wasn't built for intergalactic communication. Way before its time."
"You're just making excuses so you could make a satellite." Caleb followed Kova, standing up. Extending a hand to Allie, the teens continued to their conversation. Lifting Allie to her feet, they almost threw the young girl to the other side of the deck, who had managed to stay on her feet.
"Hey, I figured out color coordination!" Griffin's voice came on over the intercoms, the orange screens coming to life.
All the screens changed, one by one, to a specific color. The two on the bottom changed from orange to blue and yellow; the screens above them turned to red and green; the one at the helm turned white. An orange screen appeared on the window behind the teens, this one not changing color. Instead, an excited Liz was bouncing on the balls of her feet.
"Y'know, cause we're wearing the Voltron suits?" Kova nodded, showing her understanding.
“Very cool, very cool," Kova said, hoping Liz could hear the 'but' in her voice. Liz was crestfallen.
"But?"
"But if you wanna be true to Voltron, let's start with Altean blue for all screens." Kova smiled as Liz's smile returned to her face.
"I can do that." Liz signed off the screen, the screens reverting to their original orange color.
"Quit telling my team what to do." Caleb was glaring at the side of Kova's head. She stared forward. Whether she wanted to face Caleb or not, it was up to her, but Caleb continued his silent glare.
"I'm just as good as you. Don't think you're so high and mighty because you're a top student. I am too. What are you staring at?" Caleb turned his head to stare out the window like Kova was doing.
"I wonder how they felt coming back," Kova said in the quietest voice. At last, the screens turned bright blue and the lights were brightened. "They were up here for so long. Do you think it felt like coming back home?"
"Stop talking." Caleb turned around to stare at Allie, who was sorting through the piles one more time. With Liz's map, Allie was packing her backpack again, this time with only the first aid and snack piles. Liz would help her out if she became too confused about anything, while Cake was too busy checking and rechecking the systems diagnostics with Kenny. "You can build your satellite if you stop talking about them." With a nod, Kova walked over to the staircase.
She stood at the helm and ready, looking over the deck and other screens below her. It felt almost wrong to her. She had been taught for years that a leader was someone who had equal footing with everyone on her team, not someone who stood above them all.
"We found the rooms, and guess what?" Cake's head appeared on the camera footage, eyeing the camera. The bright blue screen did not do Cake's sclera any justice, but no one was gonna tell him that. "We don't have to share with anyone!" In a sprint, every teen on board raced towards the rooms, hoping to get the best room. Shiro, on the other hand, stayed in the bridge, watching the teens choose their rooms from the cameras.
The rooms were split into halves of a hallway between the med bay and the cafeteria/kitchen. The hallway was open-ended, likely for a quick escape should anything happen. Three doors were to the right, and three on the left. The excited shouts of the teens overlapped each other, while Kenny's yelps floated above them.
In the end, it was settled who got which rooms. The girls would take the side of the hall closest to the med bay, while the boys took the side closest to the kitchen. Kova and Caleb were roomed the closest to the emergency exit, while Cake and Liz were roomed closest to the entrances of the cafeteria and main hall to the bridge and engine room. Kenny and Allie would be roomed in between to prevent any accidents since they were the least trained.
At least, that's what they were told.
Shiro would be sleeping in the captain's quarters since the first floor rooms were taken. The ship, as they would discover, had more sleeping quarters and floors, but they were too far from the bridge and transport bay.
"Wait, did anyone check the bay?" Liz asked out loud, her voice silencing everyone else. Kova and Caleb immediately looked at each other and agreed. They were well-trained and wanted everyone else to settle down.
"Dad, you watching?" Kova asked the camera nearest to the entrance of the bay. "I hope you are 'cause I don't wanna die today." Caleb stared at her, opening the bay. "Remind me to reconfigure those." The hatch door opened, revealing a barely lit warehouse of a room.
"Turn on your floodlight," Caleb said, staring at the metal beams fifty feet above his head. They put on their helmets, turned on the lights on their suits, and walked inside. "I thought you said the Coeus was changed to an infirmary."
"It was supposed to. They probably couldn't repair it and moved on to the Atlas." The floor was covered by small piles of random nuts, wires, and bolts. Towards the end of the bay, two fighter jets sat in complete abandon.
"No way." The fighter jets, decorated in white, orange, and black, were earlier models of the MFE fighter jets. "These are, like, priceless."
"One of them is worthless." Kova was staring at one of them. It looked sad compared to the one beside it. "They must've tried taking everything out. I wonder why these two got left behind."
"Failed inspection," Shiro said over the teens' earpieces. "The one Kova's at had a broken thruster and collapsed wing. It was useless before it even took flight." Indeed, Shiro was right. The right-wing of the jet was lying on the ground. "The other was having power connectivity issues. It was a war. They had no choice but to abandon them."
"You don't need to explain, Dad. I got it." Kova's voice was tight, but her brain was moving fast. "Ask Cake to take us to his home planet. Then we'll know where we are."
"How do you know?" Caleb asked. Kova tore her eyes away from the fighter jets and followed Caleb out the door.
"I can use a Balmeran crystal to power the satellite, and another one to power the ship."
"Didn't answer my question."
"Cake's mom is a Balmeran who worked with his dad to make their culinary empire. She'd be able to help us get home." Kova was finally getting fed up with Caleb's attitude.
First Kova has to train a new cadet on her team. Her boyfriend got sick and couldn't go on this mission. Her brother is being annoying and getting on her last nerve. Kenny is on board the stupid ship. At least she's trying to keep her wits about her.
"No need to get so mad, Kova." Oh, it was on.
"Fight and you're both grounded." Shiro's attempt at a threat didn't work.
"There's no ground for light years, Dad." Kova pointed out, and Shiro was frozen in place. The teens never fought each other unless they needed to let off steam.
Oh, they were gonna hurt each other badly.
Switching off the cameras to the bay, Shiro watched Cake familiarize himself with the kitchen, while Liz and Allie were on Kenny-sitting duty. They had changed out of their suits, opting for something more breathable. Cake wore a familiar orange headband and green vest he hadn't noticed before. He wore a long-sleeved yellow shirt underneath the vest with matching green pants. Allie wore a blue billowy blouse with white pants. Her strawberry blonde hair was being braided by Liz, who had changed into a black shirt and pants with a green overcoat. Kenny still wore his clothes from earlier, a long-sleeved orange shirt with his uniform slacks.
A screen on the bridge appeared, showing coordinates to Cake's home planet. It would take a few days, considering the outdated equipment on board. Maybe Kova, Kenny, and Liz could put their heads together to figure something out.
It had been a few hours since they were accidentally launched into space. Kova and Caleb weren't to leave their rooms, which was fine with them. Cake had managed to make something somewhat edible for lunch, which was easier than thought to be. Allie now had twin ponytails down her scalp, ending about halfway down her back, and Kenny was still muttering about being on a ship with teenagers. Liz was trying not to slap him.
"Does anyone else hear that?" Allie asked, taking a second bite of who knows what.
"Hear what?" Cake asked, wishing they had more than the snacks they had.
"It sounds like," Allie was trying to figure out the word when Shiro walked in. "Like a lion's roar."

till dusk, till dawn
➳ summary: in apocalyptic world, is there a chance for you to find love?
➳ genre: apocalyptic!au
➳ a/n: gif creds goes to @hayoonbin! this was requested by annonue and i got too carried away writing it and uGh i love it so much!! kinda inspired by multiple zombie movies esp. the walking dead!
Tumblr media
“mom, what are those?” your voice quivered in fear. You see your mom stagger up the stairs and run towards your room. she grabs a backpack from your closet and stuffs clothes, the first aid kit, and water in it. “mom answer me!” you cried out loud. “run and never look back” her voice boomed. You look at her crying face in confusion. she shows her arm which revealed a bite mark. you run up to her and sobbed. You felt her stroke your hair in a loving manner. “I love you, sweetie” she says truthfully as your mom feels herself turning. the bangs downstairs got louder and louder. “mom please” you sobbed. your mom suddenly grabs a pistol. “mom.. what are you doing?” you asked in panic. “after I fire this gun, promise me you will take this and run” she looks at you dead in the eye “no mom!” you tried to stop her but its too late. she pulled the trigger. “ MOM!!” you screamed in agony.
you woke up from your daydream when you heard a clunk at the other side of the store. In a hurry, you grabbed the canned goods and other necessities you needed and shoved them in your bag. you stealthily paced around the store to check where the sound came from. you peeked over at the shelves to see a zombie. Not wasting any more time, you threw your army knife at his head. you watched the zombie fall to the ground. you look down at the zombie with your knife on its head. “poor guy” you say out loud. you pulled the knife from his head and ran out of the convenience store.
running out the store, you were greeted with the fresh air with the smell of rotting bodies. you were used to this kind of lifestyle by now. killing zombies here and there, finding abandoned houses in the rich subdivisions or in the villages to sleep in. your main “home” as you called it was in the forest. you knew your way in and out of the forest in your town. though there are still some parts of it to be discovered. you are now headed to the front and you see a hoard of zombies ahead of your direction. you didn’t bring attention to yourself by walking cautiously. even if there was a zombie in front of you, you would just stab them on the head.
it was just a regular day at the treasure base. asahi, yoshinori, and jaehyuk were getting down from the watch towers from their night shift. byunggon calls everyone to the dining area for their daily meeting. “any news?” byunggon asks everyone who was still in a sleepy state. “nothing from the night before hyung” asahi reports. “hmm. I guess that’s like a daily thing now” seunghun comments.
as everyone was busy reporting the activities from the dag before, byunggon checks the members attendance. “where’s mashiho?” byunggon asks. “in the kitchen hyung!” yedam answers. byunggon noticed the meeting was awfully quiet.
“where’s jihoon, junkyu, and the rookie?” as on cue, the three stumble together at the door. “present.. for duty.. hyung” junkyu tries to hold in his laughter.
keyword: tried.
Byunggon massaged his temples at the three. “So, what are we-“ “hyung we ran out of food!” mashiho runs in. “NO FOOD?!” hajeongwoo exclaim in sync. “WHAT!?” junkyu screams in a high voice. “everybody listen up!” seunghun slams his fist against the metal table. all The boys stopped what they were doing. “thanks bro” byunggon bumps his fist with seunghun seunghun. “no problem” seunghun grins. “anyway, since we’re out of food, jihoon, junkyu, and the rookie here,” byunggon points at the three. “you three will scout for our food” he finishes. “great! we’re gonna go outside again” jihoon laughs, “and we try not to get killed yeehaw!” junkyu adds but ruins the mood. both leaders, byunggon and seunghun facepalm. “just head over to doyoungie and hyunsukie’s station to get your guns.” seunghun sighs. “copy that!”
“we’re in scouting duty again!” junkyu giggles. “ yep. but its our rookie’s first misson” jihoon coos at yoonbin, who just vaguely smiles a bit. “ aw come on, rookie! loosen up a bit” Jihoon throws his hand over yoonbin’s shoulder. “come on, guys. It’s not the time to—what was that?” rustling was heard. the three boys gripped their guns tightly against their chest.
you are now walking through the forest. just feeling the cold breeze hit your skin brings you relaxation or peace despite living in a apocalyptic world where the dead wants to eat you alive. your train of thought was cut short when you heard voices nearby. you dropped your bag filled with goods and hid around a tree.
“yo! who would leave this!!” a giddy voice exclaims. “be quiet man! you’re gonna bring us attention!” another voice hushed. “careful, we don’t know if there’s a catch” a deep voice interfers. “please” the other boy scoffs, “like there’s any other—“
he gets cut off by you grabbing a boy and holding a knife against his neck. 2 guns were pointed at you. “drop your weapons” you demanded. they slowly complied and dropped theirs. Even the boy you held hostage dropped his gun.
“who are you and what are you doing here?!” you pointed the knife towards the two boys who were holding their hands up. “i’m jihoon and thats junkyu” jihoon points to the guy beside him. “the one you held hostage is yoonbin” he then points to the boy you’re holding. “we’re scouting for food for our base” he explains.
“what base? there aren’t any bases here!” you raise your brow at the two boys. as you try to get information from them, you didn’t notice yoonbin who took the opportunity to flip you around. so now you’re the one who’s held hostage. “FUCK!” you yelped
“oH MY GOD DUDE DID YOU SEE THAT?! BYUNGGON HYUNG IS GONNA BE SO HAPPY AND SHOCKED” junkyu jumps. “guess we’re taking you hostage, lady” yoonbin whispers in your ear. “we’re gonna take your food if you don’t mind!” jihoon smiles as he grabs your little duffle bag filled with canned goods. “FUCK OFF THAT’S MINE” you trashed around yoonbin’s arms. “not anymore~” junkyu says in a sing song voice. “c’mon rookie. let’s head back now” jihoon commands. yoonbin pushed you harshly and now you four were walking to their base.
“you’re back early– whO IS THAT?!” jeongwoo screams over the intercom. “a stranger danger that’s what” jihoon mumbles enough for you to hear. you kicked jihoon’s ass which caused him to yell in pain. “DUDE! control her! she kicked my ass!” jihoon complained. “literally” junkyu joked. you snap your head at him and gave him a glare. “sorry” he says quickly. “you’re quite feisty aren’t you” yoonbin tries to give you a small talk, only for you to give him your best death glare. “cool” he replies.
you were now walking to the front door. their base reminded you of an army base with all the wires and metal doors everywhere. not to mention the watch towers and all that. “hyung! we found another civilian!” junkyu reports. “this time she’s a bit hostile” jihoon whispers over to byunggon. “where is she?” byunggon asked the two. “she’s with the rookie. oh my god hyung like he did a backflip and shit and the girl can’t do anything!” junkyu blabbered.
“it’s a girl?! hyunsuk and seunghun both piped up. “yeah–“ before jihoon could finish his sentence, byunggon, seunghun and hyunsuk ran off to where yoonbin was guarding you.
“you know, you could always let go of me right?” you smile fakely at yoonbin who’s still holding your arms together. “no can do. you’re hostile as fuck” he comments. “what the fuck is that supposed to mean?!” you start to raise your voice. “this is exactly why i can’t let you go” he counters. you huff at your place and try to find something to distract him. you spot an ajar door. an idea came into mind.
“oH MY GOD LOOK THERE MIGHT BE A ZOMBIE” you screamed. yoonbin got startled, “WHERE?!” he looks around frantically. taking this as an opportunity that he’s distracted, you ran away from him. “wha– come back here!” he yells. you sprinted faster but he’s catching up.
‘for a rookie they’re talking about, he’s pretty good’ you thought to yourself. you were now running around a goddamn table. you hear yoonbin ‘tsked’ and slid over to your side. “FUCK DUDE IT AINT THAT SERIOUS” you cry out as you ran faster than ever.
he finally catches up and tackles you to the ground. “you aren’t going anywhere” he says coldly. “yeah i am” you argue as you fight against him. “do you ever give up?” he pants as he tries to block your attacks. “nope, never” you smile. suddenly you felt something prick you. “ow!” you pushed yoonbin off of you as you felt yourself getting dizzy. “wha– the” you slurred. the last thing you remember was falling and you feel yourself being lifted and you’re out like a light.
you jolt up from the hard bed. hitting your head angst a shelf in the process. “fuCK!” you cursed loudly. “she’s awake!” you hear an unfamiliar voice call out. suddenly, a group of boys scrambled inside the room. “oh wow” one comments. “oh no she has a bruise forming” another comments. “i got the ice” another announces. “damn rookie what did you do to her” one jokes and the whole group broke into laughter.
“who the fuck are you guys” you ask them. “damn, you’re right hoon. she’s feisty as shit!” a blonde boy exclaims. “told ya” jihoon’s familiar voice echoed in the room.
“hello! i’m byunggon. i’m the group’s leader. you’re at our base. you are another civilian we found around the area!” byunggon introduces himself. “here around me are the other civilians me and seunghun found.” he points to a tall boy who’s smiling like a dad.
“this is hyunsuk, yedam, jaehyuk, doyoung, yoshinori and asahi” he points to the boys behind him. “and you already met those three” he then points to jihoon, junkyu and yoonbin who was leaning against the doorframe.
“i know what you feel right now. so we’ll give you time to take in everything.” byunggon puts a hand on your shoulder. “mashiho, make her some food. yedam, give her an ice pack” he looks at mashiho and yedam who were standing outside. “got it hyung!” they say. byunggon stands up and walks over to jihoon, junkyu and yoonbin.
“you three, watch over her incase she plans anything funny” byunggon whispers to the three. “nah hyung, let’s just leave it to the rookie here” jihoon teases yoonbin. “fuck off” yoonbin rolls his eyes. junkyu winked at byunggon hoping he got the idea. byunggon looked like he was about to laugh.
“okay then, rookie, watch over her for tonight” byunggon smirks at yoonbin who groaned and threw death glares at the two idiots. “bye~” they waved as they ran for their lives after leaving the room.
you watched as mashiho placed down a plate filled with food. you looked at him and mouthed a quick ‘thank you’ he shows you a toothy grin and walks off together with yedam who shyly gave you the ice pack. they both ran off and closed the door right after. you were now laying down at the bed with your hand holding an ice pack against your forehead.
“for someone who’s gonna watch over me, you don’t talk much” you comment at yoonbin who’s just standing at the corner with a gun. “just doing what i’m told to” he replies. you scoffed, “yeah right, sure”
“why won’t we start with the basics, like introducing ourselves. hey! that’s a good idea” you open up a conversation. you hear yoonbin sigh, “fine. what’s your name?” he asks. you gasp and put your hand over your chest. “i thought you’d never ask!” you say. he rolls his eyes at you. “anyway i’m y/n” you smile at him.
after hours of just talking about anything, yoonbin hears your breathing go steady. indicating you have already fallen asleep. he quietly tip toes outside where he could leave you asleep in peace. he closed the door quietly as he could. suddenly, a hand grabbed his shoulder. “hey rookie” it was byunggon.
“hey.. uh hyung” yoonbin smiles politely at the leader. “i see that you did something earlier with our new comer huh” he smiles at yoonbin. ‘oh no, is this going somewhere’ yoonbin thinks to himself. “i need you to be with her for a few days. like give her a tour and all that shit. make sure she has something to do. is that okay?” byunggon asks. ‘fuck’ he thought. knowing he can’t say no to gon, he agrees. “okay” byunggon smiles widely, “ey! that’s our rookie! get some rest, you have a long day ahead of you” byunggon pats his chest.
yoonbin walks through the long hallways as he goes to his room. his room was kinda small but it has a bed and that’s all what matters. his neighbors are mashiho and seunghun. who are both busy everyday. he drops his gun on the floor, he opens the small closet and changes into his hoodie and sweats. he crawls to his bed, making himself comfy. once he’s adjusted, yoonbin sighs before being knocked out cold.
