The Witcher fandom, seeing the Witcher IV reveal:

The Witcher 4 trailer has dropped and it’s really nice and good, keeping up with the atmosphere and what not. The main point there is that we get to play as Ciri.

HOWEVER her name is not said aloud once in the trailer. It’s obviously her, because who the fuck else could it be.

BUT it would be really really funny if it turned out that it’s actually still Geralt and he just transitioned between the games.

She's a burnt out child prodigy. She was chosen and her entire life has been about this one thing. She stopped the apocalypse and fulfilled her destiny. Now she's lost because what do you even do after that? Her whole destiny (that she hated, by the way) was taken from her. She didn't want to rule.

So she goes to the one thing that made her happy. Her good memories are from Kaer Morhen and Geralt and Yennefer, her family. She doesn't know what she's supposed to do now that she's not running. But she sees that there is a job to do. Something that she can do. So she does it and goes through the mutations to do it better.

They didn't ruin Ciri. They listened to her and now they're showing us what she does next.
