Ykno what's somehow more annoying than a kpop stan? A kpop SNOB.

One of the employees (who's actually leaving soon, thank god) has been a kpop fan since like 2nd gen. And she makes it KNOWN. Somehow has "stanned" like every popular group in existence. Mentioned that she stanned stray kids until the song Double Knot came out & pissed her off so much she swore off the group entirely (I guess????). Used to like bts, but mentioned that she stopped liking them bc of the fandom (which is valid I guess, but literally just don't interact with the fandom then, that's what I do with stray kids).

She pissed the bts coworker OFF tho bc bts coworker made a list of group recs for 3rd gen (not 4th gen bc she did Not want to risk the bloodbath if any of the groups weren't represented properly). In the bts section (a modest section!!! Same length as the others!!!) she included 'Dynamite' as one of her favorite songs. And the kpop snob literally PUTS A POST IT NOTE pointing to it & saying "Dynamite doesn't belong on this list"

Like WHAT???? Is it YOUR GROUP being talked about here???? No!!!! She included a lot of songs from a lot of groups (with my input for ones like shinee & mamamoo), & then put her favs from her fav group. Like. Why do you have to be so needlessly nitpicky lmao???

what kpop girl groups the tlt cast would stan

just saw a post talking about the tlt cast doing kpop dance challenges and couldn't shut up so now i'm making my own post. i know significantly more about girl groups than i do boy groups, so i'm assigning everyone a girl group and/or female soloist enjoy.

judith: she was a wonder girls stan growing up and acts like it was just a casual phase but she still religiously awaits every comeback from sunmi

marta: mamamoo. she's not actually involved with the fandom in any way she just knows good vocals when she hears em

coronabeth: she has pretty broad tastes for the most part and tends to be a bit inconsistent with her ults-- these days it's ive and she is THE wonyoung defender, but she had a hell of a red velvet phase before that, and there was also a good while when she was big into momoland.

ianthe: aoa. miniskirt was the only song of theirs that she knew before the scandal she hopped onto that ship right as it was sinking. i do also think corona showed her the monster mv when it came out and she was obligated by sisterly law to make fun of it but then promptly binged every single thing red velvet has ever created.

babs: a boygroup stan but he makes an exception for ioi (somi specifically).

isaac: he likes nmixx and aespa, but i think he's more intense about craxy and a couple other nugu groups. he enjoys the newer songs that sound like three completely different songs got smashed together my boy wants NOISE.

jeannemary: DREAMCATCHER. girlie is the biggest somnie on earth and has a massive crush on dami and sua in particular. she's a big girlcrush enjoyer in general though she also stans everglow, pixy, and purplekiss.

abigail: girl's generation, obviously.

magnus: i mean he of course likes anything his wife likes especially because she appreciates the classics, but i think he also really loves like. gugudan and fromis. honestly? 9muses too idk why every group with the number 9 in it has his vibes but they all do.

palamedes: stans every girlgroup that has ever existed with all his heart and soul, but especially stayc, billlie, and loona. he's one of those orbits who actually knows all the lore too.

camilla: was a casual blackjack back in the day but the only gg she's really into is g-idle. she appreciates it when a group has some artistic freedom, and also can tell when an idol actually knows how to rap vs just not knowing how to sing.

dulcinea: nature, gfriend, and chungha. she likes cutesy groups that do total 180s in concept i think nature dropping girls was one of the best days of her damn life.

protesilaus: fifty fifty but he stanned before cupid released. also cignature he really likes nugu groups.

silas: gangnam style is the only kpop song he has ever heard and he is deeply distraught upon learning that there's more.

colum: he enjoys one (1) song by a kpop girl group and it is la vie en rose by iz*one

harrowhark: by and large does not listen to kpop but she saw the mv to paradise lost by gain as a young teenager and it Did Something To Her. i think there's a timeline out there where she's a cheshire but in that timeline her parents love her

gideon: so ik i gave mamamoo to marta but gideon appreciates a hot woman with hella ability to command a stage and mamamoo is four of those. she likes hyuna for the exact same reason but i am especially talking about red/roll deep/how's this era hyuna. oh and exid.

Any group with a jazz / sultry aspect is immediately going in his playlist. I know a lot of people put Satan down as a metal-lover and while I fully agree, I could also see him appreciating some nice brass music now and then.

Will never stop pestering you to dance to ‘Like A Cat’. From the first glance all he could imagine was you dancing to it in their stage outfits and... wow.

Absolutely 100% a KPop stan. He finds the experimental fashion, showy choreography and grandeur aesthetics so enticing and it’s 100% his style.

I HC Asmo as a big big dance fan, I think he’d adore how it can be dainty, strong or elusive fully depending on the way you perform it. He probably already knows tango, salsa, pole dancing and ballet and spends a bunch of his free time learning his favourite choreographies (the main ones being Chungha’s ‘gotta go’, EXO’s ‘Love shot’, Red Velvet’s ‘bad boy’ and HyunA’s ‘how’s this’ or ‘Lip & Hip’)

Diavolo decides to hold a Devildom talent show at the end of the semester to celebrate the exchange program going well. Asmo IMMEDIATELY calls you asking you to perform ‘Naughty’ by Irene & Seulgi with him. You both rehearse it in secret and fully tear up the stage when the talent show rolls around. You win, which he fully expected, and leave the brothers in a mix of confusion, adoration and embarrassment.

Has never heard of KPop before you introduce it to him. You were both cuddling together in his room while he snacked on the gummies you’d bought him, listening to you excitedly ramble about this new KPop group that you thought he’d like!

A die-hard metalhead, can’t enjoy any music that doesn’t hurt his ears a little bit, so he’s already mentally preparing how he’ll pretend to like it and is just grateful that you were thinking of him, when suddenly his eyes are met with Dreamcatcher’s ‘Chase Me’ MV

And wow. Wow. This isn’t what he was expecting at all. Electric guitar? drums?... NOT bubblegum pop?

Doesn’t become a major fan but definitely adds a lot of the heavier songs from their discography to his gym playlist, still happily listens to your excited ramblings and talks about other groups, but will probably pay a bit more attention if you mention a Dreamcatcher comeback.

Fave groups: Exclusively Dreamcatcher, but also likes ‘Clap’ by seventeen as an exception since he finds the guitar riff mixed into the instrumental cool.

Not interested. Similarly to Lucifer finds it too loud, too bright and too in-your-face

Not a huge music lover in general, but can tolerate some easy-on-the-ears gentle songs. Has a soft spot for Melanie Martinez & Lo-Fi.

You can try all you want to convince him to enjoy it, show him whatever cutesy MV’s you want, as many live stages or variety shows as possible, even the sweetest most gentle kdrama OST, he’s not interested.

You send him ‘ZZZ’ by LimeSoda jokingly and tell him it’s his theme-song, he’s not amused.

15. Real Love-Oh My Girl

Yeah…really not my vibe. I think the concept was a good version of their previous concept, just more mature but the song was just boring to me. I hope I like their next single better, this one just wasn’t it.

14. Hai Cheng-the8

Unfortunately I just don’t really like ballads most of the time. I love his voice and I’m glad he’s doing more solo stuff, he’s my bias in Seventeen and I want to see more from him. I just wanted another pop track like Side By Side, which was one of my favorite songs from 2021.

13. Oh Sorry Ya-Sunmi

Another song I’m not a fan of from one of my biases this month, and Sunmi is one of my ults too. I don’t know why, but I just did not vibe with this song.

12. CoNEXTion-NCT U

So happy to see my boy Shotaro doing something, but honestly a bit disappointed that he wasn’t actually part of the song. He’s a member of the group, he shouldn’t just be used as a dancer. The song itself was only ok. It felt like an intro song for an album, just stretched out to a full length song, and frankly there’s a reason most intros are max 90 seconds. This song is too long.

11. Ven Para-Weeekly

I’m not a fan of Weeekly, I only listen to their singles casually, so I don’t think I should comment on their concept change, other than to say that I felt that this concept didn’t fit them, but for the song itself, I felt it was very generic and it didn’t really catch my attention. I probably won’t skip it if it comes on shuffle but I’m certainly not seeking it out.

10. Love In Space-Cherry Bullet

Glad to see them come back! Not a fan of the verses and pre chorus, I felt that all the lines were rushed and it was distracting. The chorus and bridge were really good though, just not enough for me to listen to the full song often. The MV was super fun though.

9. Mother-Heize

A rare ballad that I liked! I’m not a fan of very chill songs but Heize is almost always an exception to that. I thought this song was beautiful and emotional.

8. Honey-Solar

Another Mamamoo solo this year! I was looking forward to Solars solo comeback and I definitely enjoyed it. I think I prefer Spit It Out but Honey was definitely fun. A bit too chill for me but groovy enough to keep me interested.

7. Glitch Mode-NCT Dream

The anti-drop chorus is not my favorite but a really enjoyable song nonetheless. I love that the Dream rap line other than Mark is getting a chance to shine and obviously the vocal line is killing it as always. I loved the sudden electric guitar dance break, so fun.

6. Look At Me-Kawaguchi Yurina

Not really kpop, but I found out about her though GP999 so I’m including her. A great debut and the song is really pretty. I’m glad that she didn’t let her loss on GP999 drive her away from this career, I think she’ll do great.

5. Feel The Rhythm-Red Velvet

I love this song so much! The trap + classical music combo is so good, and the ballet/classical art concept is so cool. I wasn’t a fan of Queendom or that EP, so I’m glad that Feel My Rhythm and its EP were more my style. I loved the b-sides.

4. MemeM-Purple Kiss

Another song from one of my ults this month! MemeM was really good, I felt like this concept really fit them. I loved the story teasers too. Zombie killed it but I’m glad they went back to the vibes of Ponzoña. The EP is definitely my least favorite one of theirs but still pretty good.

3. Wonderland-AleXa

Spectacular. Definitely the best song on American Song Contest so far. The lyrics slap, the song slaps, the performance slaps. She deserves to move on to the semi finals and I hope she makes it further too.

2. Tomboy- I-dle

I’ve been listening to this song so much since it came out. I know people don’t like Soyeons rap but I love it. Is it cringe? Yes. Do I love it because it’s cringe? Also yes. The entire song is so fun.

1. Maniac-Stray Kids

My third ults to have a comeback this month! All I needed was EXID and I would have had 4 for 4. While Oddinary wasn’t my favorite album of theirs, I really like Maniac and I’ve been listening to it non stop since it came out, it’s a great follow up to Thunderous. I can’t wait for the rest of their music this year.

[ARTICLE] Moonbyul - Allure Korea Magazine Interview

ALLURE: I learned how to make you laugh today. You laugh when you're complimented. Like you can't stand it.  MOONBYUL: Haha. Because I don't usually get complimented (meaning during photoshoots). Normally, the mood for our shoots are always quiet, but today's friendly atmosphere is unfamiliar. 

ALLURE: It's quiet? I recall an energetic appearance when I think of MAMAMOO.  MOONBYUL: If you actually see us, we're not. The members are severely shy. We become active once we open up. Also, there are a lot of times where we're quiet because everyone's tired.

ALLURE: If you were to rank MAMAMOO members based on shyness, where do you stand?  MOONBYUL: I think I'm last. Because I'm the one that's least shy.

ALLURE: We're meeting during a chaotic situation. I heard your scheduled solo concert was also cancelled?  MOONBYUL: It was the time when I was going to properly start preparing for my concert after my album activities were over, but it was postponed. Since we don't know when things will get better. 

ALLURE: You just completed your second solo activities. Was it satisfying?  MOONBYUL: I really really liked it. At first, I didn't think about the results. It's also a song that isn't popular to the masses. I can do this kind of genre. My goal was to show that I can that, so I liked just being able to promote it. They were satisfying promotions because people bought a lot more albums that expected. 

ALLURE: Compared to your first solo, what's different?  MOONBYUL: I didn't promote my first solo on broadcast. If I had expressed, 'I want to live doing music I like', 'Love myself some more', for this album, it was, `Let me do something that I love'. I think the message was, 'I can do something like this, too, because I love myself'. 

ALLURE: MAMAMOO's Moonbyul's music and solo artist Moonbyul's music is different. What do you think is the most different thing?  MOONBYUL: I think it's dancing and music genre. As a soloist, I want to show myself attempting various genres. I think that's the biggest difference. When it comes to dancing, I'm not good at girls hip-hop, but like urban [dancing]. I wanted to show there's someone in MAMAMOO that dances like that, and that there's a girl that does this kind of dance. I like the basics of urban dance, and form that's created in it. It's a dance that shows both being relaxed and power at the same time. 

ALLURE: You named your album 'Dark Side of the Moon' as a metaphor to a solar eclipse4 probably also has the meaning of the side that isn't shown much to people.  MOONBYUL: Inner side. I thought that was a good meaning. My name is Moon Byulie. My surname is Moon and my name is Byul[ie]. I've always said I wanted to do music with my name as well. I think I was able to show the music that's within me. There are also the lyrics, 'when the moon becomes dark, I'll become a star and shine on you'. I love myself. It's like showing self-love.

ALLURE: It's not the title song, but the lyrics for 'ILJIDO' were quite nice. MOONBYUL: That song is a story about me. I thought I didn't have worries, but I must have actually had a lot of worries. It's a song about the time where everything was going well, but I still couldn't sleep. My current appearance is probably what ardently dreamed of as a trainee in the past, so the worries I have now are probably unnecessary. It's about going back to beginner mindset.

ALLURE: Your daily life was depicted as lyrics. Dating just in dramas, and every day where you have a hundred complaints.  MOONBYUL: You learn love through dramas. (laugh) After debuting, I think work always came first. Our company also doesn't prohibit dating, but to just do things well on your own. But, even though I, as a person, am lonely, I don't think I wanted to solve that with dating. Because I always have a dream. Since before, I didn't want to create a past, so I didn't take photos except for my graduation photos. I think that's when I started preparing for my dream for the future.

ALLURE: Looking back, do you regret it?  MOONBYUL: But, that wasn't bad. There's a lot that I need to continue drawing, I felt having this occupation was a start for me. Debuting was a turning point for me. 

ALLURE: Not everyone has that discipline.  MOONBYUL: Instead, I'm afraid of attempting things. I think I'm slowly learning how to attempt things with this occupation. Today's photoshoot was also new for me. It's unfamiliar for me to look at myself. While taking photos, I've never showed so much skin like I did today. I always had my own frame, but, I think I disliked it myself, and wanted someone to break it for me. I tried doing my makeup or styling in a familiar way for 7 years, but I broke myself a little today. 

ALLURE: MAMAMOO is known as a group that doesn't do a lot of photoshoots. But I heard you told your company that you wanted to do this first? MOONBYUL: That's right. I told them that I wanted to show various things with this solo. I think it's really fun! Like, I know what the appeal of photoshoots are. I did a photoshoot with MAMAMOO members early in our debut, and it was really hard. Even now, our fans talk about that photoshoot a lot. (laughs) 

ALLURE: It's been a little while, but MAMAMOO won on <Queendom>. What kind of program was it left as for you?  MOONBYUL: It was really tiring during it. But, thinking about it now, I think it created memories that couldn't happen again. I also learned a lot like, 'so this is how other groups prepare', and, `this is how they solve things'. It was tiring, but we were able to have valuable experiences. I [we] cried a lot during the final because it was so happy and sad. I think various emotions exploded at that time.

ALLURE: Seeing the way you respected each other left an impression. Are you keeping in touch with the other groups that appeared with you?  MOONBYUL: Honestly, everyone was so good that I'm not sure why we had to compete. I think I became an Inssa' (insider/extrovert) through <Queendom>. Though, the members didn't. (laughs) The thing left over for me through <Queendom> is an increase in my social skills. We became close through missions, and we made plans to meet each other in light of becoming close. Bring your members out!

ALLURE: You're skilled at ad-libs. Do you normally watch a variety of content MOONBYUL: There's just a lot that I want to do. I want to do this and do that. While having idea meetings, I think I catch what's thrown at me, and evolve it. There are things that also catch on by thinking from the perspective of the viewer. 

ALLURE: [MAMAMOO's] film awards stage is an awards show legend. It's like the answer sheet [for award show stages].  MOONBYUL: The actors really reacted so well. Honestly, those atmospheres are created together. Because we approached them like that, they reacted nicely, so we were really proud. We were really nervous doing that performance.

ALLURE: It's a time to realize how precious your daily life is. How have you been spending it?  MOONBYUL: I'm an active person, so I'm getting stressed a lot. I can't go work out, and I can't meet anyone. So I go visit my members homes. (laughs)

ALLURE: You all live separately? What is your house like?  MOONBYUL: I don't have any interest in interior [decorating]. (laughs) I have the same furniture my mom bought me when I first started living alone. Still, I think of my bed and comforter importantly. I like bedding and pajamas. I change them often as well. I recently bought lots of pajamas, too. I think collecting pajamas is like a hobby.

ALLURE: If you couldn't come out of your house for one month, what would you do?  MOONBYUL: I'll probably eat delivery food almost every day... I think I'll game, and I also watch lots of YouTube. I come out in Solar unnie's YouTube [channel] a lot. I just look for the scenes that I'm in, but there were so many ads that I paid for it. (laughs) I recently got the feeling that my ears were purified after hearing a song. After hearing it, I felt that it was really, good. I got to hearing APRIL's 'April Story', and I got this refreshing feeling like my ears were on a mountain. Like OH MY GIRL's 'Secret Garden'.

ALLURE: Who would you want to work with next?  MOONBYUL: Taeyeon sunbaenim! I liked TVXQ and SNSD a lot during my trainee days. Taeyeon sunbaenim was my phone background before, too. If I was to [work] together with Taeyeon sunbaenim, I think I would feel like I was on top of the world. (laughs)

ALLURE: What are you thinking about next?  MOONBYUL: I'll work hard on MAMAMOO's activities, and, if I get some resting time, I'll prepare my solo. I don't like resting. Even if they give me a break, I use that to work on my solo. Because, if I rest, I get lots of thoughts and can't sleep.

QUEEN. Chungha and her whole discography are a work of art. Formerly known as a member of IOI, Chungha debuted as a soloist in 2017 with the EP "Hands on Me" and has become a force to be reckoned with in the soloist game, being compared to the likes of BoA and Sunmi.

Favorite Songs: "Gotta Go" and "Stay Tonight"

Probably the only band I listen to, the first time I heard "Sweet Chaos", I was like "Wow, stan". I don't really enjoy band music that much but Day6 is definitely an exception!

The best thing my sister ever did for me was introduce me to EXID. These girls quickly shot up my bias list, becoming my second favorite group. SNSD are queens who will never be forgotten by the K-pop industry. They've influenced many popular idols today, giving young boys and girls idol fever. Their songs may be a little cutesy and lovey dovey, but I love their entire discography.

The leader's of the self love revolution. I've been a Midzy for a while now and I don't regret stanning one bit. Itzy have a unique sound so early on in their career and that definitely gives them a headstart on the road to superstardom.

Loona has 12 members who debuted separately, with solos and then in 3 sub-units. I personally enjoy the story behind Loona, aka The Loonaverse. It's long and a little confusing but very interesting.

My ult group. My first kpop group. When I heard Red Flavor, I was ready to stan. I literally got up at 3am just to watch Psycho as soon as it came out. Love them with all my heart.

Last thoughts on Mama 2019

I really enjoyed the whole show a lot. I think it was a little bit sad for me they mix Mamamoo up with JYP because I don’t like him or his music very much, but they rocked it and made that booty song bareable.

I personally most enjoyed the intro performances by ITZY and TXT, the ATEEZ Mash-Up, TWICE performance and the BTS throw back stages. I’m a little bit sad that they were only like three girl groups there and that there was no HipHop stage, but I loved the multilignualism, we heard so many languages that was great.

To the ATEEZ Mash-Up: I really loved it. I loved how they made the songs in their own style music and choreo wise. I tried getting into them like two times already but they never stuck because their music and choreo is a little bit too aggressive for me. I think I give it one more try. Their music doesn’t have this everyday sound and their performances and choreos are always very good.

To the BTS-Performance: I loved the N.O. Performance so much. It is my favourite song from their early days and I always loved everything about it except the fashion choices. The visual language of the music video is very dystopian and daring (they woudn’t do something like this today). The classroom scene is still one of the best scenes of any BTS MV til today. I loved how they performed it with the Budget they have now. It had some Mad Max vibes and the fire and the rock music was a good mix into that.

Also funny they had a snake during Dionysus ... people always like to call Mama snake ;)

↬a/n: so this is the first chapter of my seventeen summer camp au!! each chapter will be labeled with it’s respective warnings, which will change with each chapter. fluff, angst, and maybe a little smut will be in this story, but not all three in every chapter. several side ships will be mentioned, such as meanie, junhao, verkwan, and a tad of soonhoon. other groups and members from these groups will be mentioned as well, namely exid, shinee, mamamoo, loona, and the rose. not all members from each group will show up, and the ones who do will not be extremely prominent. you do NOT need to stan the other groups to read this, since i won’t be using any inside jokes or references, aside from cabin names, which are explained in the intro (you can find it here). i will update as often as possible and i’m hoping to make this anywhere from 20-30 chapters!! please let me know what you all think, my inbox is always open!!

y/n!!” you smiled to yourself as the all too familiar voice rang out from behind you while you were taking your bag out of the backseat of your car. a pair of hands found themselves on your shoulders and spun you around, causing you to drop your belongings, “oh my god, look at you! gorgeous as always. still not on my level, but you’re definitely close.”

“nice to see you too, seungkwan,” you said, smiling and hugging the boy in front of you.

“i want a hug too!” you pulled back from seungkwan to look at who was standing beside him and holding out your dropped bag to you. giggling slightly, you took the bag and slung it over your shoulder before giving him a hug.

“vernon, your hair’s gotten so long! it’s so pretty,” you complimented, tugging at a strand of hair that had fallen loose of his bandana (we’re going back to ‘adore u’ era vernon, dont @ me).

“eh, i decided to try it out. you really like it?” he asked, grinning slightly. you nodded affirmatively, “seungkwan and i just got checked in. you should go check in too, then we can walk around camp and catch up.”

“got it. i’m gonna go set my stuff down in the cabin too and say hi to the girls, but i’ll meet you by the flagpole in half an hour?” you received two thumbs up and a wave from each boy as you walked towards the booth set up in the front of camp.

“y/n, you’re here!” solji, one of the head counselors, said when she saw you approaching the booth, she and the rest of the girls in the ‘hot pink’ cabin, aka the girls’ counselor cabin, were getting everyone checked in. you smiled and waved at her, giving her a hug over the table when you got close enough. she checked your name off on a list she had in front of her and handed you your camp tote bag that all campers got at the beginning of camp. it was filled with little summer survival goodies, like a camp t-shirt that had a new design every year, a camp water bottle, sunscreen, etc.

after checking in, you made your way to the ‘wind flower’ cabin, the cabin you had been staying in since kindergarten, when you started coming to ‘camp seoul’. as usual, all four of your roommates were already there and unpacked. you had the door open for half a second before a blonde blur attacked you, wrapping her arms around your back and squeezing you tightly, before pulling away and looking you up and down.

“you look no different than last summer, y/n, just as beautiful,” solar praised, beaming at you and baring her dimples, “god, i’ve missed you.” she pulled you in for another hug before the other girls came over to greet you as well.

“i’ve missed all of you, of course.” you threw your bag on one of the beds and looked back to the girls, “anything new happen?”

“hwasa and wheein got together over the school year, but that’s about it,” moonbyul told you, shrugging and gesturing to the two younger girls, who were now holding hands. you jokingly pouted and crossed your arms.

“but now i’m gonna be a fifth wheel to you guys, since moonbyul and solar are already together.”

“you’re still my favorite girl, y/n,” hwasa said, winking at you and earning a slap from wheein.

“excuse you?”

“don’t act like she isn’t your favorite girl too, wheein.” you laughed, checking the time on your phone before getting up and heading towards the door.

“well i would love to stay, but i promised seungkwan and vernon i’d meet them to catch up, but i swear that all five of us are staying up and talking all night, okay?” you insisted before saying goodbye and walking to the flagpole near the front of camp.

seungkwan was at your designated meeting place, as expected, but surprisingly vernon was missing. instead, wonwoo and mingyu were there waiting with the shorter boy. as soon as you had gotten close enough, wonwoo turned his head after he noticed you out of the corner of his eye, a bright smile lighting up his often stoic-looking features. you grinned back and went to wrap your arms around him while saying hello, moments before you were engulfed in mingyu’s embrace soon after.

“i think you’ve gotten shorter since last summer!” mingyu teased, ruffling your hair playfully. you pouted and lightly punched his arm as seungkwan and wonwoo laughed.

“you’ve probably just grown even more, tall-ass!” you mocked, turning to face the same way as the other three as you all began walking down the path that led to each cabin, but doubled as a casual walking trail, “okay so i need to be caught up. what’s happened over the past year that i need to be filled in on?” seungkwan took a deep inhale before beginning to tell you everything.

“well seokmin fell down the stairs and broke his leg in seven different places so he was in a wheelchair for a month, joshua pushed him around the whole time because he’s an actual prince, chan finally hit his growth spurt and now he’s still short but not as much, plus he has a much deeper voice, jihoon lost a bet, so soonyoung dyed his hair bright blue, then soonyoung wanted to match so he dyed his own hair red and now he claims they’re purple together or something weird like that, jun and minghao kissed on new years eve but they claimed not to remember it, these two got together finally,” seungkwan jabbed his thumb at wonwoo and mingyu, who you now noticed were holding hands and sheepishly smiling at the ground (CUTE), “and seungcheol skipped class to bleach jeonghan’s hair in the school bathroom a few days before school ended, so now he looks even more like an angel.” your gaze swiftly shot up at the mention of jeonghan. seungkwan smiled and gave you a knowing look before elbowing mingyu next to him and pointing to you.

“yn’s gonna go nuts when she sees him. one of you two tall-asses will have to catch her when she faints,” he said, snickering with the other two boys. practically everyone knew you had been head over heels in love with jeonghan since sophomore year, except for the man himself, which you were perfectly fine with. it all started during the summer when he had hit puberty and your attention was drawn to him constantly during that month. you had always known he was attractive, but it had hit the next level that summer, when all of his features stood out beautifully. he cut his hair, which was formerly down below his shoulders, into a style where his bangs were a tad longer than the rest of his hair, and the sides were cut short, making him look princely, in a way. (i’m thinking boomboom era) sometimes he would style it in light waves, which you often liked to play with when you were both together. of course, his looks aren’t what made you fall for him. he had been sweet to you before, and you think something had been there, but it wasn’t until sophomore year that you finally understood and determined your emotions whole-heartedly. the way he changed visually just helped draw more attention to what you felt. you and jeonghan had always been closer than anyone else in the group, from kindergarten until now. though, the past few summers, you had been distancing yourself from him in hopes of relinquishing your feelings, even just a little bit. but the more time you spent away from him, the more you wanted to be around him. somehow, despite your constant awkwardness and even the most loose-lipped people in camp knowing, (cough soonyoung cough), jeonghan hadn’t the slightest inkling that you harbored a strong liking for him. and hopefully, you would be able to keep it that way. 

“shut up, seungkwan,” you muttered, rolling your eyes before attempting to change the subject, “why isn’t vernon here?” at your question, seungkwan scoffed and kicked at the dirt.

“he was busy talking to that stupid jungeun or kim lip or whatever from the butterfly cabin.” you sighed before looking up at the visibly annoyed boy next to you.

“so you still like vernon?”

“obviously. but he’s my best friend and i don’t want to ruin that or whatever,” seungkwan answered, “but if i could make out with him, i’d totally be up for ruining our friendship.” you laughed before looking over to wonwoo and mingyu, who were talking quietly.

“where’s everybody else? i want to say hello to my boys!” 

“i’m pretty sure all of them went to the mess hall,” mingyu said, pointing in the direction of the large building at the front of camp. you nodded and motioned for the other three to follow you there. 

the second you stepped inside, you noticed that a majority of the camp was already there, due to the noise level and how crowded it was. but that didn’t stop you from easily spotting the other boys from the ‘pinwheel’, ‘chilli’, and ‘highlight’ cabins talking together near the fireplace. a smile spread across your face as you hurried to the large group of boys, who were now joined by vernon. they seemed to be so immersed in conversation, they didn’t even notice you standing by them.

“i’d appreciate it if i wasn’t ignored by you guys when i haven’t seen you in almost a year,” you announced loudly, catching their attention, a chorus of “y/n!” ringing out soon after. seungcheol was the first to stand up and hug you, almost crushing you in the process. next was the extremely hyper chan, who was now taller than you, followed by the rest of the group. when you thought you had finally greeted everyone, you tried to start a conversation with jihoon, before being interrupted halfway through your first word.

“oh, so no hug for your best friend?” you tensed up at the familiar voice, slowly turning around to see a boy holding his arms out and grinning from ear to ear.

hi there! from your url, i'm assuming you're a Sailor Moon and kpop fan? Just wondering as a fellow fan when you discovered them and how long you've been following them? What's your top 10 anime/kpop artists? And what are your opinions of the Sailor Moon reboot and kpop in general? (P.S. what does the 89 stand for?)

 Hey :) You guessed right, SM and kpop are my obsessions XD I first watched the english dub of Sailor Moon when I was...idk like 4 or 5. Then when it went off air I didn’t watch it again for YEARS. I lived in the middle of the countryside and didn’t have a computer till my uncle passed away and we got his. I was about ten. But because we were so isolated, we only had dial-up till I was like...16. At which point the FIRST thing I looked up was Sailor Moon XD 

I’m not certain when exactly I got into kpop. I was a fan of Kesha’s and was listening to her song, Run Devil Run and scrolling through the comments when I saw a lot of people debating whether this or the SNSD and Girls’ Generation versions were better. I’d never heard of SNSD or Girls’ Generation but decided to check them out and find out for myself - it didn’t take me long to discover that SNSD and Girls’ Generation were the same group XD (Incidentally, please don’t ask me to chose which version is better. I refuse XD). 

I don’t know exactly when this was - I THINK the first half of 2012. 

Top 10 anime: I actually haven’t watched a whole lot of anime. I start them and get a few episodes in and then just get distracted XD

10. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. If you like shoujo anime, you probably know about this one but it’s kind of a dark magical girls anime :)

9.Another. It’s a horror mystery anime....I actually kind of want to rewatch it now that I think about it XD

8. Deadman Wonderland. It’s about a boy who’s framed for the murder of his classmates and is imprisoned in a kind of Battle Royale/Hunger Games style prison. I actually named my dog after one of the characters in it, Shiro (and also for the Japanese tale about the dog of the same name who lives with the elderly couple). 

7. Digimon. Back when it was Pokemon vs. Digimon, I may have loved my pokemon red (and blue and yellow), but in terms of anime, I always preferred Digimon. The digimon just seemed to have a lot more personality compared to pokemon. Plus I adored Kari (Hikari in Japanese).

6. Cardcaptor Sakura. After Sailor Moon had gone out of my life as a child, we would occasionally rent videos and dvds from Xtravision and there was always a CCS one. When I first saw it, I thought that maybe it was that other one I watched as a child or something. After the first time, I realised it was definitely something else but I would always pick it up anytime we rented a dvd.

5. I’m going to put Naruto here. Not because I ADORED it or anything and I definitely don’t think it’s the best but despite the fact that it must be one of the longest airing anime, it’s one of the few that I actually saw through to the end.

4.  Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I think it’s just one of those GREAT anime that should be a staple for any anime fan to watch. 

3. Full Moon wo sagashite. It’s a shorter anime about a young terminally ill girl who gains the ability to transform into a singer and fulfill her dream of being a singer. I won’t say anymore except that if you ever watch this one, make sure you have tissues.

2. Death Note. I remember being SO blown away by it when I first watched it when I was 17 - I actually convinced a LOT of people in my class to watch it XD

Opinions about Crystal:

....I REALLY wanted to like it :( I didn’t though. It moved too fast. Sure the anime had a bit too much filler but taking away ALL the filler and just plowing through plot full speed ahead was far too far in the other direction. Personally for me, characters come first and the plot comes second. It’s not that the plot is unimportant but you have to give me reasons to care about the characters - reasons that don’t hinge on things I know about them from other adaptations. Plus I’m not a massive fan of SenShi. I’ll take some VenusXKunzite but other than that, I’m not interested in pairing up all 4 girls with all 4 guys. Like you’re telling me that 2 of them didn’t like the one person? Or everyone was liked by SOMEONE? 8 people are not just gonna pair off that simply. I watched the first season and could feel my interest going away episode by episode. I watched the first episode or two of R and while that was a LITTLE better, that was because I was already predisposed to adoring my lost little baby Chibiusa. 

All that said, I did watch S and enjoyed it a bit. It’s still far too fast paced. Breathing every now and again isn’t bad but they just don’t seem keen on doing that. But I did like it a bit more and will check out at least the first couple of episodes of SuperS. I know also that there’s been a lot of discussion about the animation quality and even though I lack any kind of artistic talents, I can see that the animation hasn’t been great. And it DID get better for S. But honestly, I don’t care. I would take stick figures. All that’s important is that I’m given a reason to love these characters. 

Kpop in general? That’s so vague XD You want my general opinion on an ENTIRE music industry? :P 

Okay well I like kpop. We’ve established that much XD And I’m sure you could tell from my top 10, it’s the girl groups I’m here for. There weren’t any really when I first started listening to kpop that I knew of and I am 10000000% here for girls being friends (or more than friends. lbr, there have to be SOME lesbian kpop idols. There are literally hundreds of female idols) and loving and supporting one another. The thing that really appealed to me and why I can’t tell you exactly when I started listening to kpop was the reality shows. I mean Western artists don’t really have reality shows AND variety shows AND modelling gigs AND mc careers AND acting careers. Kpop idols just seemed to be able to do everything!! The one I spent the first six months or so watching over and over again was Hello Baby. I was completely enamored with it :) Only after I finished watching it did I start to wonder ‘hey, I wonder if they’ve done anything recently...and I googled and found out I missed the debut of their first (and only official) subunit. All because I was watching a show that they’d filmed years ago that I could’ve watched anytime....

And lol. For most people, if they have a number at the end of their username, it’s related to their date of birth. For me, it’s ‘89, as in ‘1989′, the year my bias Tiffany Young Hwang was born. My original tumblr username was ‘SailorMushroom89′, ‘Mushroom’ being a reference to ‘brighter than Mushrooms’, Tiffany’s -butchered- intro when she first debuted. (I don’t know if you’re a Sone but it was back before Tiffany’s Korean was fluent and she was SUPPOSED to introduce herself as ‘brighter than Jewels, Tiffany’ but mispronounced jewels and introduced herself as ‘brighter than Mushrooms, Tiffany’).
