u know what though... i don't think this facepalming is for the witnesses in the room, but i also don't think it's an "oh no, thor's so stupid" facepalm, i think it's a "why the fuck did i do that?" one. i don't think loki especially wants to invade jotunheim, he just thought it'd be a laugh to get thor to do it, but then oh shit thor is actually going to do that so now he needs to sabotage it somehow (telling the guard) but also:

Most of the drawing tutorials I see are useless, especially those that start with "the female and male body." They're based on supposed physical differences that not only exclude trans people from the entire conversation, but aren't real; they're ideals or fabrications rather than absolute truths.

In my opinion, these types of tutorials are useless. They only severely influence the artist and stress them out with fabricated and useless information. Furthermore, they aren't actually teaching anatomy; they're teaching them to repeat stereotypes that don't represent the general population (and therefore aren't real and don't foster the artist's development).

Learning to draw isn't about drawing what I THINK I see; it's about learning to draw WHAT I'm REALLY seeing.

Instead, I recommend learning by copying photos of real naked people.

I especially recommend looking for photographers who focus on body diversity.

Remember that it's always better to copy real models; copying someone else's drawing isn't as useful for learning since you'll also be copying their mistakes.

Okay, sequel to this Ekko post. As promised, this time focusing on the him and the Firelights.

Long and the short: I am thinking is possible something happens to scatter the Firelights. This something is what prompts probabbly the two things we know: Ekko seems to be going to Piltover for something (lets just say it's most likely hextech, or something similar), repeatedly. And the Firelights have been pretty clearly seen among Jinx's supporters.

Now, if or not this is the tree being destroyed, the hideout being attacked, or just general problems with a war going on in Zaun isn't clear but I am thinking SOMETHING happens to the Firelights pritty early on to make them kinda splinter up, prompting Ekko to need to do something about it and some of the Firelights to begin to support Jinx.

Now...I will make clear I don't think Ekko stops leading the Firelights and Jinx begins to. Cause honestly that sounds awful, off character wise for both of them and generally is not good. I think Ekko sees after whatever scatters most of them that he needs to get help, something in Piltover being what he needs to do that (again, probably hextech to power his Z-Drive). Hence, why he and Hiem sneak in and possibly prompts Ekko to return in disguise.

And to assure anyone who is worried: Ekko would also have to reunite and continue leading the Firelights after this because we see him leading a group of them in what looks like the last battle (the one with a lot of Noxus soldiers). So yea, whatever the reason for his absence is, it's temporary and they continue to stand with him.

BEFORE I GET TO THE ANSWERS, MY GUESSES:

The human who can create and kill Beatrice, ie the one who "takes on the role of Beatrice" - Shannon or Kanon. I said in a post a while ago that I can't imagine Beatrice being anyone other than Shannon or Kanon, and I don't think I said this explicitly but this was based on the idea of "the culprit must appear in the early part of the story"

The human who never gave birth to Beatrice in the first place - My first thought was Kinzo, who of course is the origin of the idea... buttttt I'm putting all my money on Lion. Their world has no witch of Rokkenjima, they should not exist, in a world without Lion, the witch exists. In the world with them, the witch doesn't exist. Therefore, it's Lion.

Of course, this could be a roundabout way of it being Natsuhi (for example), who wouldn't make up the witch who kills the child from 19 years ago if Lion had existed. I think Lion is more likely though, considering that Natsuhi hasn't been spoken to the way some other characters have.

Karsus, Mystra, and Gale

ok so. this is a thought that has been nagging at me since i got into the meat of Gale's story. I was listening to Gale explain Karsus's Folly and the destruction of the Weave and suddenly I had the thought that it actually makes sense the Mystra specifically singled him out. and it honestly makes the whole thing a little more fucked up I think.

As Gale puts it: imagine being a god, knowing you are immortal. imagine being wrong. (paraphrase i'm not gonna look the exact words up)

Karsus was the boy who would be a god. He was a wizarding prodigy with an amazing talent for manipulating the weave. who does that sound like? and Minsc mentions hiding young boys from Mystra's attention.

and it all comes together.

Mystra actively seeks out these young children when she sense them. And she ensures their loyalty to her. So when Gale is born a prodigy she seeks him out and ensures that he is molded in her image. And as a god she doesn't quite get human relationships, but knows the lengths people will go to for their love so she preempts any issues there. And, this is pure speculation here, i'll admit, I think she actually stunts Gale's power. Sure she helps him grow powerful, but I feel like she would subtly handicap him. Keep him only as powerful as she could easily control. And then when he uncovers the Karsite Weave, she sees it as his ambitions overcoming his love and drops the facade and him. And nothing more needs to be done. He has neatly ensured his own demise and once she gets her last bit of use from him his threat will be gone and she can continue on with her existence unhindered.

Notes of Desire: Sand's Possible Soundtrack

The gears in my brain are turning because I can't stop thinking about Sand and Ray, and the fact that Sand thought of Ray as his 25th hour but realizes that it's not possible and maybe he was never in Ray's clock at all. Sand seems like the type to, generally, work through his emotions with music, whether it be listening or writing his own.

First, the whole concept of the 25 hours derives from the fact that Sand finds comfort that he shares the same 24 hours as his heroes: Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, and Alex Turner. That 25th hour was just, essentially, that magical hour where Sand didn't have to worry about paying of debts or taking care of his mom, it was just him and Ray. The time that he spent with Ray were moments where could really enjoy the seconds instead of counting down the minutes for each of his responsibilities.

I was listening to Artic Monkey's AM album today, when I ran across the time concept in the lyrics. Alex Turner, from Artic Monkeys, has a song called "Knee Socks", which is considered one of the best (if not the best) song on their AM album, whose lyrics goes:

You got the lights on in the afternoon An' the nights are drawn out long And you're kissin' to cut through the gloom With a cough drop coloured tongue And you were sittin' in the corner with the coats all piled high And I thought you might be mine In a small world on an exceptionally rainy Tuesday night In the right place and time

You were a stranger in my phonebook I was actin' like I knew 'Cause I had nothin' to lose When the winter's in full swing and Your dreams just aren't comin' true Ain't it funny what you'll do?

And this song is definitely up to interpretation, since Alex has never really come out to define any meaning about this song, but personally so much of this lines up with SandRay. Since I can't help myself, there's going to be a short and sweet discussion below.

Knee Socks essentially is a telling of late-night encounters, finding someone, in the crowd, that would be able to take your loneliness away. Kissing through the gloom, finding something light and exciting in the midst of their darkness, much like Ray uses Sand to escape the everbearing sense of loneliness that Ray has.

The zeros that line up on the 24 hour clock, almost as if the connection that was being sought was clandestine, like a secret midnight rendezvous. Even when they were completely on top of each other in front of Boston, they swore that they were nothing but friends. Ray even told Mew that Sand was not even his type. They kept their relationship tightly under wrap, not even truly defining it for each other. Their nights together were their little secrets.

Personally, I'm on the boat that believes that while Mew may care for Ray, he typically treats him condescendingly. So the lyrics "the ghost in your room that you always thought that didn't approve" almost instantly reminded me of how Mew is always in the background of SandRay's relationship, stopping Ray from moving on. Also, "knocking boots" is an allusion to physical intimacy, which Mew likely wouldn't have approved of completely if Ray had wanted anything serious with Mew.

Overall, this specific song definitely gives the vibe of a lover looking back at their previous encounters in an almost dream-like state, and after this week's preview, I couldn't help but attach it to SandRay.
