with how big your gillion's eyes are it makes me think he'd look hilarious if he got high
still can't believe that almost the entire crew getting high to help gillion with his curse and then getting attacked by a giant shark is canon
anyway. he looks like a cat on catnip

no matter whether ppl are trying to make zk's canon relationship out to be sibling coded or associative friends or whatever else ppl make up i feel it all comes from this place of people that don't ship it being unable to handle zuko and katara's canonically deep and intimate friendship at the end of show without (whether subconsciously or not) perceiving it as some kind of threat to whatever katara or zuko ship they DO ship (usually either k/a or z/s or m/z)
they don't know how to acknowledge/write zk (and i don't think them being a m/f ship is divorced from this) having their canonically close friendship alongside whatever they ship because that closeness, no matter how platonic, can't supersede the romance of their own ship. so they just lazily write it off as "siblings" or convince themselves they weren't ever that close in the first place or that katara still secretly hates zuko or something in order to get out of the bind of allowing them to be close friends even if you ship them with other people 🤷♀️

i'm calling it my fleece quest luke au to keep it short. but the fic will probably be titled lightning in a bottle. the gist of it is luke, not a traitor this time around, goes on the golden fleece quest in a desperate attempt to save thalia

I think marla should get these random on & off jobs as the years go by and at some point she somehow ends up going down a makeup artist path.. but like early on in that career she wants to practice some w/ putting makeup on other people because she’s just used to doing it on herself..
So she calls one day and talks to the narrator over the phone about how she’s getting that kinda job but she kinda lied about having experience doing makeup on other people and she needs someone to practice it on. He’s like “oh good luck finding someone! Im happy for you I guess” And Marla has to basically flat out just say she wants to do makeup looks on him.. and he’s telling her no in every which way until she’s like “oh guess I’ll just kms then. My dream won’t ever come true :( ” and the narrator being the kinda guy he is, sighs and finally agrees to letting her try putting makeup on him only a couple times.
He ends up telling Tyler about it and is huffing about how annoying it is but Tyler…..he has the biggest smirk ever & teases him about it of course and all that but when the first day comes of the narrators makeover, he’s sitting there next to them and is telling Marla what he specifically wants & she’s doing whatever it is exactly he says. Like if Tyler says he wants the narrator in BRIGHT af red lipstick, it goes on.
The narrator is questioning why she’s just doing what he says instead of whatever she feels like and she’s like “well, I’m gonna have to do makeup in specific ways people want anyways 🙄🙄”
To make a long story short, Tyler gets Marla to do the narrators makeup in ways that gets him going, and then ruins it sometime after Marla leaves if u get what I mean 😏😏😏😏

hi monty, i was reading your rules and i was wondering why one of your hard no's is dabi without scars? ofc, feel free to ignore this <3 i'm just a bit nosy haha
the removal of his scars makes me uncomfortable. I won’t go so far as to call anyone a bad person for it! I just find it really distasteful and sad. dabi’s scars are incredibly important to his character—the same way shouto’s scar is (and in these ‘modern au’s’ his scar is never removed I wonder why /s)—and it’s super easy to write them into domestic or modern aus, I do it all the time! he had bad scarring long before he became dabi. like, surely can’t they be relegated to his villainy, every single hero we know has scars? and fire doesn’t exist only in the bnha universe lol. but yeah
all that to say tl;dr I don’t like it because it seems to me majority of the time it’s done purely for aesthetic reasons which can be harmful to those who do have visible scarring, and it puts a bad taste in my mouth. PERSONALLY! it’s something that I choose to scroll past is all

Both Nobara and the blonde witch (Momo?) make good points about the role of women in this Jujutsu society. Momo points out that power is not enough for them, that that which is good enough for men isn't for women, that they are held to higher standards, and for them scars aren't badges of honour as they are for men, but make them undesirable and damaged goods.
And then there's Nobara, pointing out those are sexist standards one doesn't have to adhere to, that it's on them for playing by the rules and having those exigences in mind. That she likes clothes and looking pretty, but for herself, she doesn't expect it from others or respect more someone who does as well if they don't want to, like she likes Maki but dislikes Mai. And she too is right! It's true that adhering to those exigences perpetuates the standards! But what she says doesn't negate what Momo says, which is the fact that, yeah, okay, it sucks, but that's how it is and not playing by the rules just makes everything harder. And harder still for someone like Mai (or Maki) to whom perfection isn't just the goal, but the very starting point being people from one of the main clans. So she can understand and defend Mai's position and approach to the problem, as Nobara understands and defends Maki's.
This all gains layers of complexity and juiciness considering Momo and Mai are Utahime's students and Todo's classmates. I am sure the manga won't go there, but wow is it intriguing how Utahime's situation may have influenced their views. What a pity the manga won't go there

Thinking about appearance hcs for the chateau trio. Like, Josephandre is a BEAR definitely, he is a big, buff (but not the muscly buff, the beef buff, the buff that's like-- strength over appearance kind of buff, I don't know what that's called, but like-- bear), hairy guy. And I also wanna give him scars everywhere, cuz I like to think that his overall outer appearance contributed to people mistaking him for having a family history of heroes. He looks like a warrior but in all actuality, those scars are just from mundane everyday things. The scar on his arm is when he fell from a tree climbing it to get the fruit, the scar on his knee is when he fell down trying to chase a bird for fun, stuff like that.
I wanna give him scars on his face too but I'm being blocked by the fact that Josephandre was Also mistaken for a Prince. Like, royalty is all about caring for your appearance, scars on the body is easily concealed so that's fine but not so much when it's on the face but at the same time-- isat's world is built really differently so what's the general view towards royalty in its medieval times? Are royals in it particular about scars on faces too or is it okay? Could it even be seen as something "beautiful" in it too? Actually, you know what? I'm doing that. Like, what if in one of the countries Josephandre and his party visited, scars are seen as beautiful, so that's where the "Josephandre is mistaken for a prince" thing came from.
