she's silent for a moment, considering - weighing what would be most important to say, to ask. and, truly, she knows that she doesn't quite know what's going on, but... this is her baby boy. one of them, at least. and she's no stranger to the idea of bottling something - even though she doesn't do it anymore.
so she takes a seat next to the familiar boy ( and he still was; just a boy, scared and angry and hurt ) and stays silent for a little while. letting her ideas spiral and wind through her fingers. she can tell that he is hurting just to see her. how long has it been? time has become a little strange these days. but, it didn't matter.

Would you agree that the gettysburg address is the best speech that has been given by any president?
No, I disagree. The Gettysburg Address wasn't even the best speech ever delivered by President Lincoln. Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address is the best speech in Presidential history. It's one of the greatest speeches in American history. I think it's one of the greatest pieces of writing in American history -- and not just writing from Presidents, but from any American writer.
Fellow Countrymen: At this second appearing to take the oath of the Presidential office there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement somewhat in detail of a course to be pursued seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to myself, and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in regard to it is ventured. On the occasion corresponding to this four years ago all thoughts were anxiously directed to an impending civil war. All dreaded it, all sought to avert it. While the inaugural address was being delivered from this place, devoted altogether to saving the Union without war, insurgent agents were in the city seeking to destroy it without war -- seeking to dissolve the Union and divide effects by negotiation. Both parties deprecated war, but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it perish, and the war came. One-eighth of the whole population were colored slaves, not distributed generally over the Union, but localized in the southern part of it. These slaves constituted a peculiar and powerful interest. All knew that this interest was somehow the cause of the war. To strengthen, perpetuate, and extend this interest was the object for which the insurgents would rend the Union even by war, while the Government claimed no right to do more than to restrict the territorial enlargement of it. Neither party expected for the war the magnitude or the duration which it has already attained. Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with or even before the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not, that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered. That of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offenses; for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh." If we shall suppose that American slavery is one of those offenses which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South this terrible war as the woe due to those by whom the offense came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a living God always ascribe to Him? Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and for his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

He was very lucky indeed, in this corner of the gutter, little insects like this who wish to do some form of good within the world, are more often than naught, crushed without much thought. Had it not been for his timely intervention, he would have perished to his injuries, he had cried out for someone to lend him aid and he had answered the pitiful little wails of a mortal and now, well now this one was his now .. until he would no longer require him, but such things would take, not months nor years. Not even decades as he was beginning to see and for himself understand the bargain that was struck, just how much he would actually need to put forth to make it all happen and fall into place. “Are you questioning me?” Has the little spawn forgotten, just how many decades have passed, since he was little more than a dying rat in the street, being kicked, struck and left bleeding out, without anyone caring for him, all of the good he had done, all of the plans he had, gone like the river of blood that boards into the cracks in the stone on the pavement. “Is this not, far more than you ever had before?” As he would stare right at him for the moment, was this, not the family that he had wanted. Seven spawn that he had made, living together within his castle, serving him in every single want and need he held for himself and bringing him, more little mortals to .. feast upon. His life would have ended in the gutter and if not, with the time that had passed, he would have perished long ago. Eternal life, and power, limited of course, placed within his clawed hands, he ought to be more thankful than he is, for it could be worse, so much more worse than it already is.

Woe is as hot steam hissed from the cracks of grit teeth; he remains ignited and feral in the aftermath of a fraternal brawl, dragged kicking and screaming all the way to his master’s feet. Raw knuckles bear evidence of tempers lost and rage unleashed unto his ‘little brother’s’ face. He has been made to collapse onto knees first, tearstained cheek second, guided roughly by Godey’s boned hand tight around his nape. It’s too late to avoid the kennels, so he may as well purge his system, spit his truth—right here, all over this immaculately polished floor.
“—it is not ME!!” Finally, his starved, metallic mouth works again. And it won’t just stop after the first bite. “It’s Petras—!” Astarion is defiant, careless, ripping and chewing through every syllable with Cazador’s eyes right on him. “He tore the shoulder of my doublet trying to impersonate me in front of the others—” They were uproarious, loving it. Bonding over the big joke they all view him as.

How he burns to again. “—but the stupid idiot swung at me first! Maybe he’s learned his lesson—maybe now he’ll actually have a shot at being called ‘handsome’ with that newly arranged mug! AHA—! Honestly?! He should be GRATEFUL—!!”

Finally comes the last day, usually called "Forgiveness Sunday," but whose other liturgical name must also be remembered: the "Expulsion of Adam from the Paradise of Bliss." This name summarizes indeed the entire preparation for Lent. By now we know that man was created for paradise, for knowledge of God and communion with Him. Man's sin has deprived him of that blessed life and his existence on earth is exile. Christ, the Savior of the world, opens the door of paradise to everyone who follows Him, and the Church, by revealing to us the beauty of the Kingdom, makes our life a pilgrimage toward our heavenly fatherland. Thus at the beginning of Lent, we are like Adam:
Adam was expelled from paradise through food; Sitting, therefore, in front of it he cried: 'Woe to me . . . One commandment of God have I transgressed, depriving myself of all that is good; Paradise holy! Planted for me, And now because of Eve closed to me; Pray to thy Creator and mine that I may be filled again by thy blossom.' Then answered the Savior to him: 'I wish not my creation to perish; I desire it to be saved and to know the Truth; For I will not turn away from him who comes to Me. . .'
Lent is the liberation of our enslavement to sin, from the prison of "this world." And the Gospel lesson of this last Sunday (Matt 6:14-21) sets the conditions for this liberation. The first one is fasting -- the refusal to accept the desires and urges of our fallen nature as normal, the effort to free ourselves from the dictatorship of flesh and matter over the spirit. To be effective, however, our fast must not be hypocritical, a "showing off." We must "appear not unto men to fast but to our Father who is in secret." The second condition is forgiveness -- "If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you." The triumph of sin, the main sign of its rule over the world, is division, opposition, separation, hatred. Therefore, the first break through this fortress of sin is forgiveness: the return of unity, solidarity, love. To forgive is to put between me and my "enemy" the radiant forgiveness of God Himself. To forgive is to reject the hopeless "dead-ends" of human relations and to refer them to Christ. Forgiveness is truly a "breakthrough" of the Kingdom into this sinful and fallen world.

Lent actually begins at Vespers of that Sunday. The unique service, so deep and beautiful, is absent from so many of our churches! Yet nothing reveals better the "tonality" of Great Lent in the Orthodox Church; nowhere is better manifested its profound appeal to man.
The service begins as solemn Vespers with clergy in bright vestments. The hymns (stichira) which follow the Psalm "Lord, I have cried . . ." announce the coming of Lent and, beyond Lent, the approach of Pascha!
Let us begin the time of fasting in light! Preparing ourselves for the spiritual efforts. Let us purify our soul; let us purify our body. As from food, let us abstain from all passion and enjoy the virtues of the spirit, so that perfected in time by love We may all be made worthy to see the Passion of Christ and the Holy Pascha In spiritual joy!
Then comes, as usual, the Entrance with the evening hymn: "O Gladsome Radiance of the holy glory. . ." The celebrant then proceeds to the "high place" behind the altar for the proclamation of the evening Prokeimenon which alwyas announces the end of one and the beginning of another day. This day's Great Prokeimenon announces the beginning of Lent:
Turn not away Thy face from Thy servant for I am afflicted! Hear me speedily. Attend to my soul and deliver it!
Listen to the unique melody of this verse -- to this cry that suddenly fills the Church: ". . . for I am afflicted!" -- and you will understand this starting point of Lent: the mysterious mixture of despair and hope, of darkness and light. All preparation has now come to an end. I stand before God, before the glory and the beauty of His Kingdom. I realize that I belong to it, that I have no other home, no other joy, no other goal; I also realize that I am exiled from it into the darkness and sadness of sin, "for I am afflicted!" And finally, I realize that only God can help in that affliction, that only He can "attend to my soul." Repentance is, above everything else, a desperate call for that divine help.
Five time we repeat the Prokeimenon. And then, Lent is here! Bright vestments are put aside; lights are extinguished. When the celebrant intones the petitions for the evening litany, the choir responds in the lenten "key." For the first time the lenten prayer of St. Ephraim accompanied by prostrations is read. At the end of the service all the faithful approach the priest and one another asking for mutual forgiveness. But as they perform this rite of reconciliation, as Lent is inaugurated by this movement of love, reunion, and brotherhood, the choir sings the Paschal hymns. We will have to wander forty days through the desert of Lent. Yet at the end shines already the light of Easter, the light of the Kingdom.

Chapter 11
The Price
CV. The Scheming Witch discharged the mass of flow which had been tamed By Ríona’s shield and quickly griped the reigns of her host. In a jerk, she twitched each muscle in her body, and with utmost Precision brought her feet beneath her torso trained, Preparing a savage strike. With ferocious poise she jumped up Elegantly, each move calculated and leaving no room for let-up. Wasting no breaths on inadequate form, her eyes now inflamed And adorned in purpurate blaze, flashing in the lowly light untamed.
CVI. “A grudge you sought to settle and a debt you shall have repaid!” The goddess roared, causing trembling tremors throughout the keep, Before charging at her nemesis. With a great and sudden leap She met his forestalling knife as he prepared a flow’s grenade. She swiftly pulled out Ríona’s spear-staff from its bony sheathe, Glanced his hand and cast aside the dagger from underneath. Promptly, she snatched his free hand in which flow was being swayed And burned it to a crisp: by a touch of pure embers dismayed.
CVII. Alas, the spirits changed again, and the Tsar was left helpless Before the sheer might of the goddess. His old and battered Body could not withstand the youth of his foe. Woe meets great, haggard Scholars of their crafts with the sword of progress ever reckless! Today no different would fate remain. With ease, she grabbed a hold Of his neck and torso, lifting him up so he could his fate behold. Sharply, she slammed him unto the cobbled floor with dire success And lo, he was now at the mercy of her flawless finesse.
CVIII. Pleading as if to buy some time: “O, Aurianne, I beg thee! Show us mercy! I am a madman in old soldier’s wear, At mercy of the whims of my guest, whom forlorn fate shall not spare As we perish to languor. Show honour in thine heart lordly But once in thy life, I beg!” The goddess mistook the host for his guest And, therefore, chose to indulge him in his pleadings expressed. The air she filled with her maniacal laughter of sinister glee Before answering the Tsar’s pitiful and pathetic plea.
CIX. “How quaint and oh-so reminding! Thy warlike ways hath always been Stuck in the past, likewise thy methods crude and imprecise! Thou canst not match the speed of Ríona’s youth with any device From the Tsar’s accrued tricks from the fray. Thou hast tried to careen My way one time too many, Balthazar! She’d seek her lore; Lore thine host would have kindly given! Regrettably, I abhor Such a notion! I cannot let it be by daylight seen.” She finished her tirade with a foul cackle and a grin.
CX. Her palm became adorned in purpurate flames as she slowly Began to reach towards the Tsar’s neck. Piercing pain that shot Throughout his body, brought his resolute mind back from the rot, If only for a moment. He inquired desperately: “And what do you intend to manufacture in this juncture? Cover up all my search and study, all my conjecture? Burn it? Destroy it from our very living memory? Bring upon it all the foreboding fury of thy flow holy?”
CXI. This managed to halt her yet again, the ultimate weakness Of her ever scheming, methodical and meandering mind; The pleasure of toying with her soon-to-be loose end twined: “Burn it, sayest thee? Crude, though a most effective process. Perhaps, I could use some of it as bait? A vicious lure, Like a carrot at the end of a stick for my girl immature? Perhaps turn it into snow, or water or air? Coalesce It with the very flow? What difference does that profess?”
CXII. “For I have won, and thou hast lost!” In her musings, she failed To notice the Tsar reaching into his pocket, retrieving A fistful of an odd, powdered substance. Her mind weaving Her devious plans, inattentive to her foe’s plans veiled. He scoffed: “Thou art good, goddess, alas, thou art testing the price In thy arrogance!” Swiftly he acted upon sharing his advice, Bringing his palm before his mouth and blowing. This act assailed The goddess’ face with the powdered dust, which she forthwith inhaled.
CXIII. Caught by surprise, she launched into a ruthless coughing fit Which filled her very eyes with fiery rage. Her anger burst out In bouts of curses, as she grabbed the dagger lying about On the floor and began to stab at his chest. She had commit To a butchery abhorrent, as blood gushed and spilled athwart The room in speckled sprays. No living being could ever thwart The onslaught, yet as soon as the powder was ingested, it Began its eerie work, and she knew to fate she had to submit.
CXIV. In a manner of heartbeats, a languor – a weariness embraced The spirit of Aurianne. As she quickly realized How it worked, and at the thought became utterly paralyzed. All her plans up to this point could be manoeuvred and interlaced With the growing power of her host, including the clouding Of her sharp mind, however, this will cause her ambition’s shrouding. To such a scheme, she had not believed she’d fall. So disgraced Yet again, finding her talents and plans all go to waste.
CXV. No longer than a few moments later, Ríona regained Her cognizance to this dreaded scene. In horror, she observed The man who laid in her bloody arms; her hand still on the curved Dagger which protruded upward from the Tsar’s chest bloodstained. Miraculously, though his breathing was faint, he lived still For this brief moment. When his gaze her innocent eyes did fill, He met them with a melancholic smirk that was unashamed, Reached up to her face and brushed away the tears unfeigned.
CXVI. “Shh… shh… ‘Tis alright, my child. Both of our destinies foretold Of our paths. Mine too long and too old to be still accordant With the Tribe Mothers. Thine of utter concern and important: To thee, to the Outerworldly and to the Innerworldly fold. I give to thee my gift of lore.” He reached in his pocket And brought out his black leather-bound grimoire and a locket: I give thee, my powder of mists, like powers you already hold Through your sheer ingenuity, howbeit, stronger thousandfold!”
CXVII. “Use it sparingly, with caution, and with respect; and not Follow in my steps. Read the book, memorise it, destroy it For holy eyes must never feast their wicked eyes upon it! Never abuse it or thou shalt fall into thy dest’ny’s wrought Without recourse!” With these final words he finally perished, And the air suddenly became lighter, as two souls cherished Left the Outerworld, with another yielding to the slumber’s plot. Now Ríona was utterly alone and by silence besot.

The Sovereignty of God
1 Hear ye the word which Jehovah speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 thus saith Jehovah, Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are like a palm-tree, of turned work, and speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good.
6 There is none like unto thee, O Jehovah; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

The Coming Destruction

19 Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.
20 My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are not: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.

10 And behold, now it came to pass that it was upon a tower, which was in the garden of Nephi, which was by the highway which led to the chief market, which was in the city of Zarahemla; therefore, Nephi had bowed himself upon the tower which was in his garden, which tower was also near unto the garden gate by which led the highway.
11 And it came to pass that there were certain men passing by and saw Nephi as he was pouring out his soul unto God upon the tower; and they ran and told the people what they had seen, and the people came together in multitudes that they might know the cause of so great mourning for the wickedness of the people.

13 And it came to pass that he opened his mouth and said unto them: Behold, why have ye gathered yourselves together? That I may tell you of your iniquities?
14 Yea, because I have got upon my tower that I might pour out my soul unto my God, because of the exceeding sorrow of my heart, which is because of your iniquities!
15 And because of my mourning and lamentation ye have gathered yourselves together, and do marvel; yea, and ye have great need to marvel; yea, ye ought to marvel because ye are given away that the devil has got so great hold upon your hearts.

23 For behold, thus saith the Lord: I will not show unto the wicked of my strength, to one more than the other, save it be unto those who repent of their sins, and hearken unto my words. Now therefore, I would that ye should behold, my brethren, that it shall be better for the Lamanites than for you except ye shall repent.
24 For behold, they are more righteous than you, for they have not sinned against that great knowledge which ye have received; therefore the Lord will be merciful unto them; yea, he will lengthen out their days and increase their seed, even when thou shalt be utterly destroyed except thou shalt repent.
25 Yea, wo be unto you because of that great abomination which has come among you; and ye have united yourselves unto it, yea, to that secret band which was established by Gadianton!
26 Yea, wo shall come unto you because of that pride which ye have suffered to enter your hearts, which has lifted you up beyond that which is good because of your exceedingly great riches!
27 Yea, wo be unto you because of your wickedness and abominations!
28 And except ye repent ye shall perish; yea, even your lands shall be taken from you, and ye shall be destroyed from off the face of the earth.
29 Behold now, I do not say that these things shall be, of myself, because it is not of myself that I know these things; but behold, I know that these things are true because the Lord God has made them known unto me, therefore I testify that they shall be.
The Book of Mormon is not lenient towards persons that oppress others, who are corrupt, lie, cheat, steal or engage in whoredomes when they should be governing.
As in any good epic poem, the story tells of persons who do such things, and then, at the right time, when people come to their senses and feel heroic instead of complacent, there is bloodshed, and it is good.
The Republicans and their antics are all obvious. They do not have the qualifications to seek or hold office and their many ethical and legal troubles not to mention a treason, should have prevented them from surviving long ago.
God has made their sins known to us, and we have the law on our side. They must all be punished, severely, publicly, painfully, and then they must never ever be seen or heard from again.

📖 *_"Drip down, heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down righteousness; Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, And righteousness sprout with it. I, the Lord, have created it" (Isaiah 45:8 NASB)._*
Jude, in his epistle, appealed to God's people to earnestly contend for the faith against the attack of false teachers. In the 4th verse of his inspiring epistle, he explained why we should aggressively defend the truth because some godless people had crept in stealthily. These are people who distorted the message about the grace of God in order to excuse their immoral ways, and those who disowned and denied Jesus Christ as the supreme authority and Lord.
Now, notice what he says about these same people in verses 11-12: *_"Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves  without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots"_* (Jude 1:11-12). He calls them *"clouds without water, carried about by the winds; trees whose fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots!"*
But what does the Lord call us? *First,* look at Isaiah 61:3; it says, *_"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."_* We're trees of righteousness, producing fruits of righteousness.
*Also,* each one of us, according to the Bible, is a cloud; we're clouds of glory and clouds with water. That's very significant because John 7:38 says, *_"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."_* We're fountains of living water. From your cloud, righteousness and salvation rain upon the earth. As a water-carrying cloud, you pour forth righteousness and salvation in the earth, just as our theme verse says.

The Line of Cain & Sons
(Sunday, April 9th 2023 A.D.)
Genesis 4:17-26
Golden Text:       11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.  12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. 1 John 3:11-12
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. - Jude 1:11
We will answer some most interesting questions, as best we can, basing it upon the Bible and the common understanding of man. We will ask who was the wife of Cain. Who were their children and offspring? Did they all die out in the Flood of the Earth in the days of Noah? Were they really able to mine things from the ground and do smelting? Did they develop or use musical instruments? Were they the first captains of industrial manufacturing? Finally we end the story with the beginning again of the Godly line of Seth.
... While there are many examples of strong and inspiring men and women in Genesis, the book is also packed with stories of dysfunctional families, which is evidenced from the very beginning with the first family– Adam, Eve and their two children, Cain and Abel. In no short amount of time – just 16 verses after announcing the birth of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4 – Cain has murdered his younger brother and is consequently exiled from the land.

The narrative continues in Genesis 4 with Cain settling in the land of Nod and having children with his wife. Who did Cain marry? Where did she come from?
There is much to discuss, so let us get to it.
Message Text:   -   Genesis 4:17 - 26
17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
And Cain knew his wife. Cain knew (had intercourse with) his wife.  His Wife? Where did Cain find a wife? Whose child was this bride? First the family tree of the Biblical families of Adam and also the line of the murderous son, Cain.
You will note from the Bible that the line of Cain ends at the time of the world wide flood in the days of Noah.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.  13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. ... 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. - Genesis 6:12-13, 17
But let us return to the Family line of Cain.
And Cain knew his wife.  We know that Adam was the first man on Earth (1 Corinthians 15:45). We know that his wife Eve was the mother of all living (Genesis 3:20). The only inhabitants of Earth were Adam and Eve and their children and they had others not named (Genesis 5:4). Cain, the Bible tells us, had a wife. Who was she?  The only women on earth were the children of Adam and Eve. Eve, of course was a woman, but Eve stayed with Adam and was producing future children, including Seth and his line that eventually leads to the Messiah of Israel and Savior of all mankind. His Name is Jesus. So then we are left with only one logical conclusion.
Logically, there is only one answer, but it’s an answer which today may give us a shudder. It’s nerve-wracking to conclude that Cain’s wife must have been one of his own sisters. His sisters were the only females available, except for his mother. Eve stayed at home with Adam, as Adam’s wife and to conceive their other sons and daughters. Cain went off into the land of Nod with his sister/wife, and they conceived Enoch.  
Looking all the way back to the beginning of our fallen human life on earth, we must conclude that we fallen human beings began our descent by means of incest.
Our current injunction against incest is at least practical . . . and it has existed among human cultures for thousands of years. Genetic disorders that build up in family lines should not be passed along to babies, if possible. When both the father and the mother share the same disorder because they are siblings, their baby might inherit the disorder and perhaps suffer from it more intensely. In the case of Cain and his wife, however, they were the children of Adam and Eve—who were perfect creations of God and could not have had such a thing as a genetic disorder. Cain and his wife’s relationship was a marriage between brother and sister at the first generation level of humans, and, therefore, it was without any genetic danger.

She conceived, and bare Enoch: The wife of Cain had a baby boy: Enoch.
After Cain arrived in the Land of Nod, to which he was evicted by the Lord as his punishment for murdering his brother Abel, his wife became pregnant and bore Cain's first child, whom he named Enoch. ...
This Enoch is not to be confused with Enoch, son of Jared, to whom the authorship of the Book of Enoch is ascribed.
After the birth of Enoch, the Hebrew text of Genesis 4:17 is unclear. Either Cain built a city and named it after the mighty Enoch, or else Enoch built a city.
Cain lived in Nod. And Cain knew his wife, who must have been his sister, and must have been married to him before the death of Abel, as Cain leaves with his wife, almost immediately after the murder and conversation with God. By the time of the civilization of Europe such alliances (between brother and sister) were considered incestuous. But remember Abraham married his half-sister, Sarah; and Moses himself was the son of his father and aunt.
And she conceived and bare Enoch. And he builded, literally, was building, i.e. began to build, but never finished, the work. That which Cain erected was not a city according to modern ideas. There were not yet enough people on Earth to have a city the likes of Chicago or Detroit or Atlanta, even a smaller several thousand person city.
Is it also possible that this rebel who had told he would not have any permanent home was his attempt to found a city shown his desire to prove God wrong?
Cain essentially dedicated the first Biblically known antediluvian city after his first child, to become the city of Enoch (Gen.4:17). ...
Cain cast off all fear of God, and attended no more on God's ordinances. Hypocritical professors, who dissemble and trifle with God, are justly left to themselves to do something grossly scandalous. So they throw off that form of godliness to which they have been a reproach, and of which they deny the power. Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and we never find that he came into it again, to his comfort. The land Cain dwelt in was called the land of Nod, which means, 'shaking,' or 'trembling,' and so shows the restlessness and uneasiness of his own spirit, or 'the land of a vagabond:' they that depart from God cannot find rest any where else. Those on earth who looked for the heavenly city, chose to dwell in tabernacles or tents; but Cain, as not minding that city, built one on earth. Thus all who are cursed of God seek their settlement and satisfaction here below. - Matthew Henry 1710

Years had passed away, the family of Cain had grown to a second and third and fourth generation. And unto Enoch (whose wife is not known) and Irad begat Mehujael. Smitten of God. And Mehujael begat Methusael. Man of God.) And Methusael begat Lamech. Strongs Lexicon = youth man of prayer.
And unto Enoch was born Irad. Who is Irad?  The name Irad came from two combined Hebrew words that suggest the meaning, “runner” or “fugitive”. Irad is the son of Enoch and grandson of Cain. Unlike Seth‘s descendants, the Bible does not specify when Cain’s descendants were born or died. However, we know and can place them on the Bible Timeline Chart (Bishop Usher) after Adam‘s creation (4004 BC) and before the great flood (2350 BC.)
Irad begat Mehujael: MEHUJAEL  me-hu'-ja-el (mechuya'el, mechiya'el, "smitten of God"): A descendant of Cain through Enoch and Irad (Genesis 4:18). The list in Genesis 5:12 is a working-over of the same material of genealogy by another hand at a different date of spelling (compare spelling of Chaucer and that of today). In that ease, Mehalalel would be the correspondent name to Mehujael (see Expository Times, X, 353).
Mehujael begat Methusael: Strongs Hebrew Lexicon: Methusael. From math and 'el, with the relative interposed; man who (is) of God;  Mehujael begat Methusael; of whom also we have no other account: and Methusael begat Lamech; and it seems for the sake of Lamech that the genealogy of Cain is described and carried down thus far.... Notice the word el, this usually denoted God and this man in the line of Cain may have been a man of God.
Methusael begat Lamech. Lamech: the 5th lineal descendant from Cain, husband of Adah and Zillah, father of sons, Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-cain, and daughter, Naamah.  Lā́mek is a person in Cain's genealogy in the fourth chapter of the Book of Genesis. His father was named Methushael. (Powerful) 
19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.
And Lamech took unto him two wives. Lamech broke the law of God. God with Adam and Eve showed that it was to be one man and one woman who were to become as one flesh. But Lamech had a different idea. Being from the line of the first murderer, Lamech rebelled and became the first polygamist. This was "a new evil, without even the pretext that the first wife had no children, which held its ground until Christianity restored the original law - Matthew 19:4-6  - Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?  6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The names of Lamech's wives were suggestive of sensual attractions. The name of the one Adah, the Adorned and the name of the other Zillah, the shady or the tinkling, the musical player. "Did Lamech choose a wife to gratify the eye with loveliness? and was he soon sated with that which is so short-lived as beauty, and then chose another wife in addition to Adah? But a second wife is hardly a wife; she is only the shadow of a wife" (ibid.).  - Pulpit Commentary
20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
Adah bare Jabal. Okay Adah was the mother of Jabal (stream of water). Jabal was apparently a tent nomad who was a herder also. Jabal was also father of those who kept cattle (cattle, sheep, livestock).
Jabal's descendants of course all died in the great world wide flood, but you see today nomads who herd animals as in Tibet and some non-herding nomads in the USA who travel the county in RVs and have no permanent home. (You can smile).
This is the beginning of problems for those who teach that man was here for hundreds of thousands of years without the ability to make tents (cave dwellers) or keep herds (hunter-gatherers). We have skipped those two stages and just knocked off at the least a quarter of a million years of made up evolutionary time. And it gets worse for these vast age evolutionists in the next verse.
We must confess that it is difficult to come up with many ideas, as the Bible gives little detail.
And Adah bare Jabal. Either the Traveler or the Producer, to flow; poetically, to go to walk; in the one case, of his nomadic life, in the other of his occupation or his wealth. He was the father -  father; used of the founder of a family or nation, especially of the Creator.
Of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. If he lived in a tent, he was a wanderer with no settled home. If he had cattle they were most likely herds that went from place to place to get food, as the ground had, had another curse upon it because of the murderer Cain. The word cattle could also include sheep and goats. Strong: H4735 1) cattle, livestock;  1a) cattle, livestock; 1a1) in general of a purchasable domestic animal; 1b) cows, sheep, goats (in herds and flocks).
21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.
Jabal's brother was Jubal (stream) He was the one of the first musicians and father of those who played harp (lyre, harp) and organ (flute, reed pipe). Lyre. The lyre is supposedly not known until the times of the Greeks only hundreds of years before Christ Jesus. But here they are and those Greeks had to learn from someone. It appears lyres were here a thousand years before the flood and within one hundred thirty-five years of the time of man's creation by God.
So much for the imagined m-i-l-l-i-o-n-s of years of struggle in ‘pre historic' times without music.  It was here all the time. And that should not surprise us. These people were very smart and had close contact with God. Remember that the devil (before he sinned and was cast out) had been called the heavenly worship leader.
Flutes: There were Neanderthal flutes (pronounced Nee-ander-tall') flutes, early American Native flutes. I remember that my older brother learned how to whittle a flute of sorts, a wooden whistle, he learned from farmers who were immigrants from Sweden and Norway.
Notice that this is the unGodly line of Cain that accomplishes all this. And although we have no ages, if each of these men bore sons at the age of 30 this could have been accomplished in 180 years. If we make it 100 before the child is born then we would have 600 years. Many think this all happened before Adam and Eve gave birth to Seth and that would be in one hundred thirty years. THAT TOTALLY BLOWS THE IDEA OF VAST AGES AND CAVE MEN.
But if you think that was tough on the evolutionary time scale wait until you see what is coming next.
DECISION TIME COMING: Are you going to believe the Bible or Darwin and his necessary vast ages with cave men with little knowledge for hundreds of thousands of years?
And his brother's name was Jubal. Player on an instrument, the musician. This must have been a very talented family. He was the father of, the founder of the band leader of other musicians.
He was the father of all such as handle the harp. A stringed instrument, played on by the plectrum according to Josephus ('Ant.,' 7, 12, 3), but in David's time by the hand (1 Samuel 16:23 - And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.;) See also: 1 Samuel 18:10; 1 Samuel 19:9), corresponding to the modern lyre.
And the organ. This may not be the kind of instrument in many churches but it may be signifying a much less sophisticated musical instrument, perhaps a type of wind instrument like a shepherd's reed or bagpipe. If these were nomads then it is highly unlikely that this refers to the instrument seen in many churches.
22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.
Tubalcain: The meaning of the name is unknown, but the definition is: son of Lamech by his wife Zillah and the first worker in metal. Big bang evolutionists have a time problem now. They teach vast ages of primitive man on Earth before metal. (These ages of primitive man have been taught ONLY since the 1820s, less than 200 years).
The three-age system Christian Jüürgensen Thomsen (1788-1865 A.D.) was a Danish archaeologist, who lacked academic training. In 1816 he was appointed head of some collections in the predecessor of the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen. While organizing and classifying the collections, he proposed the three-age system about 1820. He proposed an alternative to the Bible time line; periods of human prehistory in three consecutive time periods, named for respective predominant tool-making technologies: 
The Stone Age is supposed to be the time when humans used crude stone tools. Only when it ends is there supposed to be the development of agriculture and the domestication of animals. This imagined stone age was split in three: Palaeolithic (2.6 m-I-l-l-I-o-n  years ago-10.000 B.C. or years ago); the Mesolithic (11,600 to farming ~middle stone age of hunter-gatherers moving into transition to agriculture; the Neolithic (9500 B.C. - farming and metal age).
The Bronze Age   3000 B.C.  - 1200 B.C. There was smelting of copper and tin. But in Mesopotamia (Tigress-Euphrates area), they find evidence of early bronze, according to their dating of 2900 B.C. This would place it some time after Tubalcain and the Bible. 
The Iron Age (1200 B.C. now falsely labeled B.C.E. ~ 900 B.C.) Weapons and tools were mostly iron. This is before Jesus Christ, our Lord, took on flesh; before Rome was in charge of the ‘Mediterranean’ world.  Yet, we find Tubalcain was instructing in both brass and iron within one hundred thirty-five years after creation as it was just before Seth was born.
Well which are you going to believe? 1- the imagined ideas of James Hutton (1726-1796 A.D.) who attacked the Bible time line with his A Theory of the Earth (1795)? (He taught the earth was very old, perhaps eternal and that everything we can see on earth, craters, seas,  canyons, could be explained by natural uniform causes of erosion). Or 2- will you believe the Bible? This is important as most who lose their belief can trace it to their belief in the false vast age of earth. (By the way, Einstein, relativity destroys the Hume ideas)
23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.
I have slain a man to my wounding  Justifiable homicide?! If the verb be rendered as a preteriter), then Lamech is represented as informing his wives that in self-defense he has slain a young man who wounded him (not two men, as some read), but that there is no reason to apprehend danger on that account; for if God had promised to avenge Cain sevenfold, should any one kill him, he, being not a willful murderer, but at worst a culpable homicide, would be avenged seventy and sevenfold.
Lamech confesses to the second murder in the Bible. He apparently thinks it is justifiable homicide. This other guy was trying to kill me, so I killed him. But mine is justifiable homicide. Why do you suppose the deadly fight began? Since Lamech does not say the confrontation began all because of the other guy, can we assume that perhaps Lamech may have had a chance to walk away and not kill?
If you saw the old movie Back to The Future (Michael J. Fox) his character was always getting into trouble because he would not back down when called yellow. It takes a big man to walk away.  Lamech does say the other guy was trying to kill me, so I acted in self defense.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
Since my murder was justified, then I should be justified and protected (by God). He refers back to his great-great grandfather Cain who killed his brother Abel and God protected Cain. He refers also to the sevenfold vengeance God promises. Lamech expects seventy and sevenfold protection. (Remember Peter asked, ‘...how oft shall... I... forgive?’ Jesus said, ...seventy times seven.) Which should you and I strive toward? The right to say God should avenge us, since our bad act is justified, or should we forgive and forgive and forgive and forgive and forgive and forgive and forgive? Remember, the one Lamech killed was his cousin, was family. The great, great, great-grandfather of them all (ADAM) still lived with his wife Eve. They were producing children.
25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the Name of the LORD.
Adam knew his wife again. Adam had sexual relations with Eve and she gave birth to a bouncy, baby, boy named Seth (Hebrew= compensation). Again Eve believed this son was to replace Abel. Was she looking again for the Messiah to crush the head of the devil? Seth’s birth took place one hundred thirty years after God placed Adam on Earth (Genesis 5:3).
The narrative now reverts back to Adam and Eve. And Adam knew his wife again. This is not necessarily implying that Adam and Eve did not have other children. If that was true, now we have a real problem and Cain would have no wife. (Genesis 5:4).
And she bare a son, and called his name Seth. Seth, from shith, to put or place; hence appointed, put, compensation. For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed. Her other children seem to have gone in the way of Cain, But now God gives to them Seth, her God-given son.
To call upon the Name of the Lord. This youngster was different. He was a man who would worship God.  His line would eventually lead to Messiah, Savior, whose name is Jesus.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we do not come to You, trusting in our righteousness. We have none. We rely upon the One You allowed to come. His Name is Jesus. Please cleanse me and forgive me of all my sin and unrighteousness, so that You can hear and answer this prayer. Adam and Eve had a very difficult beginning. Their first born was a murderer. The second born was the one murdered. Oh, how their hearts must have grieved. Help us Lord to be always attentive to You as we interact with our children and later with grand children, or other children You place in our path.  Help us to lead them and steer them and guide them in the right way, the Godly way. May we always be a good example for them and to them, I pray. Fill me one more time, God the Holy Spirit. Help me to be the person that You want me to be.  Help me to resist the devil and flee to the side of God. This I pray in the Holy, Wonderful, Magnificent Name of Jesus. Amen and amen.

37 And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
38 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.
39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

46 And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
