Moon seeking to move to the U.S. in 1965?
Tumblr media
▲ Pictured: Moon on his 1965 tour in D.C.
What was happening in 1965?
Both Young Oon Kim and Sang Ik Choi traveled the world with Sun Myung Moon on his first world tour.  The world tour wrapped up in October 1965, with Moon returning to Korea on October 10.
March 31-May 3,1965, Moon stayed at Bo Hi Pak’s home in northern Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C., and frequently met with Annie Choi, mother of Sammy Pak. Annie Choi was not related to Sang Ik Choi. Her family has a long, painful history with Moon. Moon would not leave until he was sure that Annie Choi was pregnant. Moon went on this tour without his young wife Hak Ja Han, though she joined him on his 1969 tour.
After spending time in Korea in 1964,  and following Moon on his world tour, Young Oon Kim moved to D.C. following the tour. At this point she had already laid ground for the Bay Area church, following her stint in Oregon. The Pacific Northwest was largely under David (Sang Chul) Kim's leadership.
Sang Ik Choi (also known as Papasan) had been on Moon’s World Tour, along with Young Oon Kim. Choi arrived in the U.S., settling in San Francisco, on November 12, 1965. On December 11, Yun Soo Lim and Kenji (Daikon) Ohnuki arrived in San Francisco, reuniting with Choi. Prior to this, both Lim and Ohnuki spent several months in D.C.
Many said that this 1965 trip destroyed Papasan Choi’s faith. He had allegedly seen many things during this tour that disturbed the holy image of Moon. It is likely that neither Young Oon Kim or Papasan Choi had really believed in Moon as the messiah at this point, if they ever did. They seemed to have ulterior motives when it came to their membership, considering their presence in the UC for decades while privately claiming they no longer believed in Moon in the orthodox sense, as well as their countless government connections.
In 1965, Bo Hi Pak founded the KCFF, with Eisenhower as the honorary president. Both Radio of Free Asia and the Little Angels dance troupe were under the KCFF.
Moon was preparing the way for his move to the U.S. in 1965:
"There are many Christians who anxiously desire to see the day of the coming of the Lord. If the Lord comes by the clouds of heaven, I know there will be no problem for this present world to accept him. But it is also possible that even after the Lord has come through the clouds of heaven, and even after people meet him and realize that he is not their concept of the Messiah, some may not accept him at once. As I mentioned already, it is of vital importance that we must live with him.-- live with the Messiah, with the Lord, with the One. It is not only important to see him and meet him but it is important to stay with him. This is of ultimate importance. Therefore, America today has to develop a new way of life in which there is room for him.”
Moon spoke these words at the UC Headquarters in D.C. on March 12, 1965, one month after arriving in the U.S. for his tour.
It was on this tour that Moon was able to meet Eisenhower. Eisenhower allegedly told Moon during this meeting, "Man is a spiritual being. We must bring to bear a greater moral strength based on moral law to stand against the communists. It will take the vigor of youth to do this."
It seems he was hoping to eventually move to the U.S. It may have seen evident that providence was turning this way, as Bo Hi Pak had created a substantial political foundation and it was evident that his message was catching on, with communities that were effectively building a financial/economic foundation. Could he have also been hoping to continue providential sex with Annie Choi, or maybe even making her his primary wife while in the U.S.?

‘Annie Choi’ driven to have sex with Moon in D.C. in 1965
Moon’s fourth wife, Won-pok Choi:
The Korean language magazine, Sunday Journal, and Kirsti Nevalainen’s book, Ritual Sex in the Unification Church, both list Mrs Choi as Moon’s fourth wife. At least one Korean authority on new religions stated that Hak Ja Han, who came after Won-pok Choi, was Moon’s fifth wife. Won-pok Choi left her husband and children to join the UC in December 1954.

Sun Myung Moon, Hak Ja Han and Won-pok Choi bow to a pig’s head
Tumblr media
▲ Won Pok Choi (left) and Hak Ja Han (right) are on either side of Moon. They are all bowing to a pig’s head on a shaman altar.
Tumblr media
Won-pok Choi, also known as second mother, and Hak Ja Han are in the positions of Leah and Rachel, according to Moon. This ceremony may be to liberate or mobilize spirits, or it may be to ask for many children, since pigs have many piglets.
In the Bible the pig is described as an unclean animal. Moon’s shaman practises go against the teachings of Christianity, and yet Sun Myung Moon claims to be a Christian messiah.
In shaman rituals often three bows are offered.
His birth name was Moon Yong-myung 文龍明. Yong means dragon. He started using a different name – Sun Myung Moon – in Pyongyang in 1946 or 47 because the Christians were commenting on the meaning of Yong in his name.

OH SUNNY YOU’RE IN FOR A TREAT. i alwwys get excited to explain indomie HBDSJSJ
ok so, indomie is one of instant noodle brands in indonesia. so it’s like instant ramen! indomie is, i think, the oldest instant noodle brand. i’ve tried several noodle brands but indomie is always the best. and they export indomie to germany!!! and i love that!!!
tbh indomie is the unofficial indonesian dish skxks. every indonesian knows what indomie is and how good they are. there’s one rival brand that’s almost as big, called mie sedaap. if you know super junior, si won is (was? idk) one of the brand ambassadors of mie sedaap. i almost ALMOST turned against indomie for si won DKSNS.
indomie is also Big in nigeria JDNDKS there’s even a manufacturer there. and idk who said it but i read that nigerians thought it’s their brand JNXSM no❤️
indomie is not like other ramen bc!!! 1. you have the soup variants and the fried variants! 2. every indomie of course has chili sauce or chili powder BUT they are not as spicy as korean fire noodle. you can still taste the goodness of indomie and with a hint of spiciness. 3. indomie’s falvors are inspired by traditional indonesian foods!!!!! 4. MSG JFNDKSKSK literally it packs with full msg (fun fact! exported indomie has less msg jdjs) 5. you can ALWAYS add something to indomie. eggs? please this is the best combo. chilies? hell yeah! some greens like pok choi?! so good. cheese? i know this sounds weird but it’s actuall delicious! fried oninon?? sprinkle them all! sausage?? yeah babey!!!!
so i guess i love indomie bc the flavors and it reminds me of home since im now in germany. ive loved indomie since i was a child!!
wait im gonna add some pics also

Sun Myung Moon’s 21 year course from 1946-1967 ended in failure
Tumblr media
▲ In this photo, taken in San Francisco (probably late 1962), John Lofland is sitting at the back on the left. Young-oon Kim is in the front row, second from the left; Peter Koch is in the center wearing glasses; Doris Orme is two behind him near the back. It may be Edwin Ang on the right. __________________________________________
Moon started his ‘public ministry’ in Pyongyang in 1946. His 21-year course was supposed to end in 1967. When it did not, some members left the UC. __________________________________________

 in the 1950s
God’s Day Speech – Reverend Sun Myung Moon
 January 1, 1973, 7:00 a.m. Tarrytown, New York
Translated by Mrs. Won Pok Choi

Question: At that time, in 1967, Miss Kim [Young Oon Kim] was teaching that was the end of the 21-year course.
Question: In 1967 I was told that it was the end of the 21 year course, and then the judgment was coming, and that should end in 1974. But I haven’t heard him say anything lately about what will happen in 1974, or the significance of what will happen at the end of that course.
http://www.tparents.org/Moon-Talks/SunMyungMoon73/SM730101.htm __________________________________________ John Lofland referenced the 1967 prophecy in his book, Doomsday Cult: A Study of Conversion, Proselytization, and Maintenance of Faith. (1966, 1977)
The book was a study of the Unification Church group led by Young Oon Kim in San Francisco in 1962-63.
page 25
…
The foregoing matters were secret, but still more so was the belief in a fully restored world within seven years of 1960. Revelations 7:4 had to be fulfilled within that period: “And I heard the number of those who had received the seal. From all the tribes of Israel there were a hundred and forty-four thousand.” Upon attaining this number the “spirit world” would become visible to everyone and cause mass member conversions. The current order would collapse in the process, and members would assume the reins of the new theocracy. Members were circumspect in speaking of Korea’s “true role,” lest outsiders doubt these American’s loyalty. In safe company, Korea was venerated as “the motherland” and God’s “chosen nation.”

pages 227-28

The most spectacular of these visits supported the feeling that UC political control of Korea was imminent. In November 1962, the mass media reported the official United States visit of a Korean political figure known as the “Director” [KCIA Director, Kim Jong-pil]. A feature story on Korea and the Director’s visit appearing in a national news magazine said he was the mastermind behind the then current Korean military junta [of Park Chung-hee]. He “provides the ideas, the drive, the plans. By his own immodest but unchallenged statement, [he] is the dominant figure of … [the] ‘revolution.’ ” After talks with high level officials in Washington, the Director spent two days in San Francisco before returning to Korea. He stayed in a luxurious hotel that flew the Korean flag over its main entrance in order to honor his presence.
Tumblr media
▲ Young-oon Kim in about 1962.
The day of his arrival, Miss Kim received a phone call from the Director’s aide and interpreter, a Korean army colonel and UC member. He told her that he had arranged an audience with the Director for Miss Kim and her followers. Miss Kim and five core converts appeared at the hotel the next afternoon, where they met another of the Director’s aides, who had only recently converted to the UC. Before entering the Director’s suite, the Koreans conversed excitedly in their native tongue, while American members stood around and giggled with joy. The audience with the Director himself consisted of Miss Kim telling him of her work for the UC in America, after which each local member gave a brief testimony to the UC/Divine Principle’s wonders and how it had changed their lives. The interpreter translated for the converts and for the Director, who continually smiled, nodded, and chain smoked. There were soft drinks, and toward the end of the hour the Director said that he was not a religious man but had great sympathy with UC. He could not help them publicly in Korea, but he would secretly give them a hand whenever possible.
After the audience, the members assembled in the interpreter’s room, where pictures were taken and an air of family festivity reigned.
Dinner talk back in the UC Center focussed on the audience. Miss Kim emphasized that such a meeting was unique and had occurred only because the Director had high regard for his two aides who were UC members. Note was made of the recently converted Colonel being related by marriage to the junta head and thus having direct access to him. The Director’s interpreter, Miss Kim reported, was also his speech writer. When assigned to write a speech, he always got help from a top-ranking person in Moon’s movement in order to give the speeches a Divine Principle slant. Church members had a strong suspicion that the two aides would eventually convert the Director, Kim Jong-pil.
Since Sun Myung Moon was to control the world by 1967, control of his home base [Korea] would certainly come before that time. Although UC members in America were obscure and ignored, even the most skeptical had to agree that, for some months in 1962 at least, Korean control was not a fantasy. Members had access to the people whose conversion could have given them power, if only in a short-lived coup. In any event, after their meeting with the KCIA Director, Kim Jong-pil, members possessed an important sense of being secretly near the center of power in Korea. Was this not testimony to the Unification Church member’s truth [the Divine Principle]?”
(aliases corrected in the above text – in his book, John Lofland used aliases for everyone. Miss Kim was known as Miss Lee. It was an open secret that the book was about the UC.)

Sun Myung Moon said the mind must subjugate the body. It seems he had no idea of the science or biology.
Tumblr media
The vagus nerve (Wellcome Library)
Both physical and mental health are real concerns for many former members. Can HWDYKYM signpost some useful resources?
Moon said the mind must subjugate the body. It seems he had no idea of the science or biology of the human body. The mind and body are deeply connected. The vagus nerve connects the brain to the gut and information flows both ways. Gut health affects your mood. Stress affects your gut.
“The vagus nerve has been described as “largely responsible for the mind-body connection,” for its role as a mediator between thinking and feeling”
We Are Built To Be Kind (4 minute video) refers to the vagus nerve Professor Dacher Keltner, University of California Berkeley psychologist and Faculty Director of the Greater Good Science Center
Moon was primarily concerned about extracting maximum effort from members towards raising money and witnessing for new members to make more money or to replace burnt-out MFTers. The well-being of members was a lesser issue to Moon during the endless multi-year courses until the Kingdom of Heaven miraculously appeared on earth in 1967, 1981, 2000, 2013, 2020 or whenever. The treadmill never ends.
How can former members of a high demand group heal themselves? It is not just a case of knowing the (sometimes hidden) crimes and abuses of the Moon organizations – sexual abuse of many women by Sun Myung Moon himself, human trafficking, financial exploitation, dangerous work conditions, sleep deprivation, and the rest of a long list. There is plenty of information available.
Many members suffered mental and psychological abuse. Not all. It all depended on where a member was on the planet and during what time period. MFT in the US from the 1970s could be really harsh. A mission in PR or the arts might have been a lot easier during the same time period. There has never been much mercy for the Japanese. Their never-ending mission is to provide $billions plus members, for the worldwide “providence.” Many former Japanese members suffer in silence.
One point is that some members suffered more harm to their bodies than psychological harm. Some died on their missions – but many suffered physical injuries or other long term damage to their health from the gruelling MFT regime or from accidents or from toxic fumes while building hundreds of boats. Some sisters were raped – probably more than is known about.
Members of a certain age may be facing dementia. Elder Korean and other members have already died after suffering dementia – Won-pok Choi and apparently Myung-hee Kim (mother of Hee-jin Moon) are two examples.
Exercise and good nutrition can help prevent or delay the onset of dementia. Gut health is linked to Parkinsons disease. There may well be a link between long periods of poor nutrition in a person’s twenties and the earlier onset of dementia decades later.
Millions of people in the US suffer from vitamin D deficiency during the winter months. It is called the “sunshine vitamin.” A lack of it can cause fatigue, mood changes, bone loss, muscle cramps, etc. This can easily be tackled by taking good vitamin D supplements – which may enhance a person’s body’s ability to deal with the coronavirus. Please check the facts with a medical professional.
Many first and second gen suffer from anxiety, stress and depression, etc., from the varying levels of abuse which they may have experienced. Support may be appreciated.
Religious Trauma Syndrome is real. LINK
Here is a link to a professional, Emma McAdam. Her resources may be helpful on the journey to physical and mental healing. Don’t forget, they are closely entwined – just as the vagus nerve connects the mind and body.

On Moon’s Relationships with the Choi Family
Excerpts from The Choi Family Entanglements, recently updated on May 13, 2023
Tumblr media
▲ Pictured: These are the only known photos of Choi Seon-gil (also written as Sun-kil Choi) and Sun Myung Moon together. They were taken around early 1955 by Eu Hyo-min, probably in Seoul. He explained that Choi had challenged her husband when she caught him having sex with two women.
From a Japanese article: “It is complicated. This is the part that has been erased from the history of the Unification Church.
Sun Myung Moon’s first wife was Choi Seon-gil LINK
She was the niece of Choi Seong-mo (see obituary below)
Choi Seon-gil’s uncle was Choi Seong-mo
He was the brother of Choi Seon-gil’s father.
Choi Seong-mo’s wife was Lee Duk-sam. [He married Lee when he was 29. Lee left Choi to follow Sun Myung Moon.]
Choi Seong-mo’s eldest daughter: Choi Soon-shil [She arrested for group sex in Moon’s church in July 1955.] LINK
Choi Seong-mo’s second daughter: Choi Soon-wha LINK [She is the mother of Sam Park, born in 1966, fathered by Sun Myung Moon.]
Choi Seong-mo’s eldest son: Choi Soon-yeong LINK [He inherited the chaebol/business]
Choi Seong-mo’s second son: Choi Soon-kwang
Choi Seong-mo’s third son: Choi Soon-kil
I can understand the feelings of Mr. Choi Seong-mo, who was the husband of Mrs. Lee Duk-sam. He pushed the police to investigate Teacher Moon, and he wanted to beat the Unification Church. At first I thought Mr. Choi Seong-mo hated Teacher Moon because Moon married Choi Seon-gil, who was Mr. Choi’s niece. But apparently he was indignant about the relationship between his wife and Teacher Moon. That is why he called Teacher Moon ‘the devil’.
It’s become a mess.”
[One of the sons, either Soon-kwang or Soon-kil, was active against Sun Myung Moon, but was heavily persecuted by the organization.]

▲ Pictured: Oh Yeong-choon is standing on the right, next to Hak Ja Han and her mother Hong Soon-ae. Oh was involved in the selection of Hak Jan Han as the wife of Sun Myung Moon. This photograph was taken at around the time of that selection. Oh raised money to get Moon out of jail in 1955, following the Ewha Womans University sex scandal. LINK
Oh Yeong-choon witnessed to Lee Duk-sam in Busan. After Lee Duk-sam joined, she brought her two daughters, Choi Soon-shil and Choi Soon-wha, into the UC. Choi Soon-yeong who was younger resisted recuitment, even though he was under pressure from his mother to join. Moon took the daughters to Seoul to be with him in the fall of 1953. It has been reported that he “restored” the two of them in a small hotel near the Seoul train station. Soon-shil went to Yonsei University and Soon-wha to Ewha Womans University. In 1964 Soon-wha traveled to Washington, DC, to go to university there. She wanted to get away from Moon. In 1965, during his first world tour, Moon spent three months in DC having sex with Soon-wha, aka Annie. He did not leave the US until he knew she was pregnant. Sam Park was born on January 28, 1966.

Frank Frivilous on Young Oon Kim’s “Blessing”
Tumblr media
▲ Pictured: Mr. Bong Choon Choi (Sang Ik Choi or Papasan Choi) and Mrs. Won Pok Choi listening to Moon speak to German members on the 1965 world tour. Young Oon Kim is interpreting.
From a post by "Frank Frivilous," posted on the old 'What Is On The Moon?' blog on December 9, 2014:
I want to respond to an anonymous poster who may have misunderstood my post about the David Kim and Young Oon Kim foundation. Of which there is no Young Oon Kim foundation because they claim that she burned her archives. Yes, I respect and admire Young Oon Kim very much for her accomplishments, and no I do not really care about her personal love life. Perhaps I’m just mildly curious as to why she chose a “normal” marriage to someone outside the church rather than seeking Moon’s “blessing”. Even to one of his vaunted peers from spirit world, like so many of Moon’s former concubines. To be honest, I am not even that interested in Moon’s personal love life accept for the fact that it is so full of infidelities. You should look it up if you are unfamiliar. INFIDELITIES, as in infidel or unchristian or even Pagan. Something that Moon himself preached against and certainly Miss Young Oon Kim would understand, she being a professor of Theology and all.  She has a fascinating history if you care to research it and it is a pity that we do not have more access to it. One thing is absolutely certain though, there probably would not be very many American and European members if it weren’t for her careful interpretation of Divine Principle and even of some of Moon’s messianic “special” dispensations. I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that Moon drove her into early retirement when he arrived on the scene in the U.S. because she DID occupy the high ground spiritually. He probably could not trust her because she wouldn’t compromise in her personal life. What became of the church after Moon and Young Whi Kim arrived in the U.S. was a headlong descent into cultic madness that first sought to fulfill obligations to the K.C.I.A. then the C.I.A. Moon had no apparent desire to establish a religious legacy and ruthlessly used the credentials of others to shield his more base ambitions. That’s just my opinion though. I am proud of the legacy that all the members did establish through their sacrifices and sincere prayer. I hope that you will understand the disappointment some of us feel to see it squandered the way it has. By squandered I mean the Moons, Kwaks, Paks the whole bunch turned out to be lying thieves. Here is one example of many:
http://www.tparents.org/moon-talks/HyunJinMoon-11/HyunJinMoon-110708.pdf
Scroll to page 110 and read how Hyun Jin Moon made 10 million dollars of Japanese donations disappear. I call it total entitlement syndrome, very similar in fact, to the relationship of Wall street banks to the U.S. treasury. In any case, it certainly isn’t some past aberration but an ongoing intergenerational trauma. The question on everyone’s mind is how to stop it and my solution is to go back into the history of the church and discover how it all started. Then we can take the necessary steps to unwind this blight on human history.  Sincerely yours, Frank Frivilous (please use the correct spelling next time!)

The following post came directly from the FFWPU and their research. That said, there’s a lot of interesting information on the formal connections between the early Unification Church and western Pentecostalism. The Apostolic Church International was known to have been affected by the William Branham-associated “Latter Rain Revival,” where a number of doctrines were pushed, including the British Israelism-influenced “serpent seed” doctrine (which claims the fall of Adam and Eve was sexual, and was also racialized). The early practices of the Unification Church were also much more openly pentecostal, with tongues and interpretation, prophecy, etc.
A Man with a Mission – Part 3

▲ Pictured: Pastor Joshua McCabe (seated, center) with True Father (left) and Young Oon Kim. Behind ar Church President Hyo Won Eu (light-colored suit) and Hyo Min Eu (hands on his belt), among others; Pastor McCabe recorded his impressions of Father and the early church in an article that was published in his own church’s magazine, and reproduced here.
In 1954, the year our church was formally registered in Seoul, David S. C. Kim traveled to Britain to study on a UN scholarship at the age of 38. Even though True Father did not personally assign him to do so at that time, David Kim took every opportunity to reach out to other churches and witness to the truth. The following account records a remarkable and little-known result of that investment. (click here if you wish to read Part 1 or Part 2)
David Sang Chul Kim’s Testimony:
Not long after the founding of HSA-UWC in Korea, I was selected by the Korean government to study in Britain for two years as a UN scholar, along with other under-developed nations’ representatives at Swansea College, University of Wales. Externally I was a UN scholar, but internally I had a mission to spread True Father’s message to Christians overseas and around the world.
While I was in Wales I never neglected my heavenly mission and duty. Whenever I had spare time, I visited many churches and small groups to look for people, and spoke many times at churches as a guest speaker. On those occasions I would introduce our Korean group and preach based on the contents of Divine Principle, which was available only as handwritten notes exchanged among the early members. Near the end of my stay in England, I succeeded in contacting a conservative Christian organization called the Apostolic Church International, which was holding a World Convention in South Wales at that time. I was allowed to speak for 30 minutes, appealing to 3,000 participants at the World Convention about the situation of Teacher Sun Myung Moon, our movement and the Korean government persecution.
In 1956, the Apostolic Church International’s Australian mission headquarters sent one Pastor Joshua McCabe to our group in Seoul, Korea. He studied the Principle for eighty days and helped with Professor Young Oon Kim’s English translation of Divine Principle. Seven hundred copies were completed and distributed throughout the world even before the Korean edition was published. Mrs. Won Pok Choi, Miss Young Oon Kim and I, as a trinity, worked together to teach the depth of Divine Principle and take care of Pastor McCabe as a special guest of the church.
From our own research into Pastor McCabe:
One day, after speaking to a group at a Baptist church in a small town thirty kilometers from Swansea, a couple who attended the Apostolic Church (a Pentecostal denomination) met and befriended David Kim. This led to his appearance at their annual church convention. In a letter to his flock that was read out in churches a few weeks later, then president of the Apostolic Church, Hugh Dawson, mentioned “a Korean brother by the name of Sang-chul Kim,” whom he said, “made a strong appeal to us in the Convention to send a missionary to his land.”
In June 1956, the Apostolic Church dispatched Pastor Joshua McCabe in response to David Kim’s expressions of affinity between our church and theirs. McCabe was a Scotsman who had been sent by his church to Australia in 1932. He had been at the convention in Wales and remembered that while there David Kim had “received the Gift of the Holy Spirit.” Pastor McCabe flew from Melbourne and arrived in Seoul, a city that “still had lots of buildings reduced to rubble.” He stayed for nearly eighty days, lodging in the home of a member. He interacted with the English- speaking members, especially David Kim (1915-2011), Choi Won-pok (1916–2006) and Kim Young-oon (1915–1989). And he met and conversed with True Father. It has to be said that over time, Pastor McCabe found that our beliefs did not coincide with those of the Apostolic Church – though there were interesting parallels. For example, the Apostolic Church had a strong tradition of revelation plus a firm belied in the reality of Satan. Pastor McCabe returned to Australia with an early English translation of at least some of what would later be published as an early version of Divine Principle. However, it appears that no further contact between the Apostolic Church organization and our church ensued.

▲ Pictured: The cover of the November 1956 edition of the Apostolic Herald in which Pastor McCabe’s testimony appeared, which pictures David S. C. Kim with Pastor McCabe
Although Pastor McCabe’s later letters indicate slightly more jaded memories of his experience, he was certainly the first foreign observer of our church, and he witnessed the early, spirit-filled services that we have heard testimony of by our own elders.
The following is the major portion of the article Pastor McCabe wrote for the Apostolic Church’s own magazine some two and a half weeks after his arrival in Korea in 1956 (printed some months later):
From the Apostolic Church’s magazine Apostolic Herald, November 1956 Edition
Many of you will remember meeting Mr. Sang Chul Kim, who studied at Swansea University as a United Nations student and attended the Ammanford1 Assembly of the Church, later coming to the Penygroes Convention in August 1955.2 He sent an invitation for a representative of the Church to go and visit the group of Christians to whom he was attached and the invitation was passed on to the Australian Missionary Advisory Board. At our Quadrennial Council at Easter I was chosen to make the journey of 8,000 miles from Headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, to Seoul in Korea. I arrived here on June 22nd after three days’ journey by air…
On the following Tuesday I was warmly welcomed at a representative party, when leaders of the group, Mr. Moon and Mr. Yoo [Church president Rev. Hyo Won Eu], together with others arranged a Korean welcome and meal in honor of their Western visitor. Among the members who attended were two college professors, two doctors of medicine and lecturers, an ex-Minister of Labor, a colonel of the Korean Air Force, and a number of businessmen who are all members of the group. Speeches of welcome from various members were delivered, and Mr. Kim made the speech of the evening in English. Others welcomed me in Korean, and I spoke on behalf of the Apostolic Church in the Motherland and Australia. The group of Christians to whom I have come are not Pentecostal or Apostolic as we know it, and yet the Spirit of the Lord is manifest among them, as some have visions, others have tongues and interpretations, while a spirit of prophecy is exercised by others in private….
The fervor and sincerity of the worship, the soul stirring preaching of Mr. Moon, a born orator who stirs his congregation to response both in praying and preaching is wonderful. Almost without exception the members are there because they longed for something deeper.… To this hall come between 300 and 400 people. There are no seats as in other churches; everyone sits on the floor. Half an hour before the service is due to begin we have a time of singing, and the place is packed. Many parts of Seoul are bomb damaged and there is not sufficient money to repair the city. The result is that accommodation is at a premium, and the group here is glad to have their hall.
It is a hive of spiritual activity. Mr. Yoo, the lecturer, gives lectures on the “Principles,” as they term their beliefs, for four to five hours a day. He covers their doctrine in two lectures, and this he does three times a week to enquirers who number as many as thirty to forty, and sometimes as few as five or six. At the end of each half year an examination is held. One hundred and thirteen from four different centers sat the examination on Sunday, 1st July. Of these twenty-eight passed with 80% or more marks. Seventeen diplomas and eleven certificates were presented to successful students who ranged from High School students to older people about fifty years of age, and including a professor from a college and a medical doctor. This week a lady doctor and a congressman attended the lectures. There are eight centers stretching over the three hundred miles from Seoul to Busan in the south, and the total membership is variously quoted at 600 to 1,200. There are always about 300 at the Seoul service on Wednesday and between 300 and 400 on Sundays.
Their doctrines are divergent from ours on several points. I am studying their principles, and though I have been here for eighteen days I have only given one address, due to having met with a slight accident when returning from the welcome party. I have now recovered and hope to give other talks on our teaching. One thing is evident—the condition for salvation is receiving Christ through faith in Him. Satan is a real foe who has to be fought and overcome. They do not baptize in water or break bread on the Lord’s Day as we do. I solicit prayers of all your readers and the Apostolic friends in Great Britain that the Lord’s purpose may be wrought out between our groups in Australia, Great Britain and Korea. The people here are very kind and gracious and the personal stories of how they were led to come to the church are wonderful. Like the Apostolic Church in Great Britain they are sacrificing to make the building of a meeting place possible. There are difficulties, but God specializes in the impossible, so remember to pray.

The Mythical Stories of Genesis Rearranged by UC Leaders
Tumblr media
by mercilavix [edited by HWDYKYM]
Do you know anyone whose lives have been wholly taken over by the mythical tale of Tristan and Iseult? I personally don’t. It would indeed be very strange if that ever happened, wouldn’t it?
But first-hand I know quite a few people whose lives are entirely ruled by a theology based on the fictional stories of the Bible. And they are even totally ruled by a teller of fiction who subtly rearranged those myths to serve his megalomaniac ambitions.
I, personally, came to mistakenly believe in the Divine Principle teaching which literally explains human history as being shaped by the myths of Adam and Eve and their actions, and the ludicrous tale of Noah’s ark. Then for years, without the slightest effort to think critically, I blindly trusted that Rev Sun Myung Moon was God’s appointed messenger who had attained a historic role as the new messiah.
Actually if these Genesis stories were real, how could we ever know about the dialogue between God, Lucifer, and Adam and Eve? And to start with, how could these two teenagers, living in isolation, ever have mastered a complex human language? Besides, would a news reporter have been there, hidding in nearby bushes, to inform us of how “the fall” had taken place? Can we seriously believe a first-hand witness could have written such an accurate report of what happened?
Also would another news reporter have been present to interview Noah when he was building the ark in order to achieve God’s ecological mega-project of that era? If so, that reporter definitely didn’t give us the accurate measurements of the vessel meant to save pairs of each of the 7 million or more living species of animals. (Unless the reporter forgot to explain that Noah actually did not built just one ark but many, many thousands of arks.)
Furthermore, the improbable reporter also forgot to mention how long it would have taken for Noah to guide more than 14 million animals into all those arks, along with enough food for all of them to survive a 40 day trip. Let’s say if Noah could have managed to keep a steady pace of guiding one animal per minute, every day non-stop for 16 hours, it would have taken him more than 41 years to fill the arks. (Not to mention the book keeping Noah had to do to ensure he had at least one male and one female of each species.) It must have been problematic to catch anacondas, kangaroos and leopards…
These Biblical accounts of Adam and Eve and Noah are clearly fictional stories which no one today can seriously consider as literal historical events.
Sun Myung Moon, however, had the nerve to claim he had personal encounters and dialogue with Adam and Eve, Lucifer, Noah and many other characters mentioned in Genesis.
One needs a lot of imagination to extrapolate theologies based on these purely mythical stories in the book of Genesis.
The Divine Principle theory, however, creatively uses these narratives to spin another fable based on speculation, and it re-uses the same fictitious characters acting within brand new otherworldly scenarios.
[It is human nature to be intrigued by stories which offer explanations for the complexities of life, especially in pre-scientific ages. Human DNA propels us to look for patterns and seek causes for events.]
But how can a rearranged fable be called a “new truth”?
Such a claim rather sounds like the pretentious and manipulative machinations of religious deceivers…
One may become immersed in the story arc within a legend, within a novel, or within the fiction of the Divine Principle. But one should remember they are not for real. Neither Adam and Eve or Homer Simpson ever existed.
So let’s make sure that our precious lives are not outrageously taken over, without our awareness, by religious charlatans, however charismatic purveyors of fiction they may be.
They might even persuade you think the moon is made of cheese…or that a Moon will become the Emperor of the Universe.

Won-pok Choi was known as ‘Second Mother.’ She confirms Moon’s sperm was in the ‘Holy Wine’ for the 777 couples
Tumblr media
▲ Won-pok Choi and Sun Myung Moon in 1973
The Korean language magazine, Sunday Journal, and Kirsti Nevalainen’s book, Ritual Sex in the Unification Church, both list Mrs Choi as Moon’s fourth wife. At least one Korean authority on new religions stated that Hak Ja Han, who came after Won-pok Choi, was Moon’s fifth wife. Won-pok Choi left her husband and children to join the UC in December 1954. On February 1, 1960, Hak Ja Han was summoned to come to Sun Myung Moon at his Cheongpa Dong church when she was 17. After nine hours of internal questioning, a tutor, Mrs Choi, was assigned to care for her. During February she tutored Hak Ja Han to prepare her for the ‘Blessing’ with Moon. Mrs Choi lived with Moon in South Korea and in the US. In Korea her bedroom was next to the Moons’ bedroom (see her testimony below), and also at Belvedere, Moon’s USA mansion, there was the same bedroom arrangement.
“She was considered to be the ‘Second Mother’ and a member of the True Family.” Kirsti Nevalainen.

Sun Myung Moon’s own words: The Significance Of God’s Day, Master Speaks January 1, 1972, Washington, D.C. In the 1965 world tour, Master was accompanied by Mrs. [Won Pok] Choi, Miss Kim and Mr. Sang-Ik Choi [aka Papasan Choi who had been kicked out of Japan]. The reason he took these people was that Master stood in Adam’s position and Mrs. Choi stood in Eve’s position. ... Ceremony for the Total Dissolution of Resentment May 1, 1975, Cheongpyeong Lake, Korea We must first dissolve the resentment of God. Next is the dissolution of resentment of True Parents. We must also solve the resentment of Mrs. Won-pok Choi, who is celebrating her 60th birthday. Mrs. Choi stands in the position of a mother and true woman in the fallen world. In this ceremony she will establish the condition to indemnify all the failures of women in history. So the spiritual world and the fallen world up until today must all be indemnified centering upon Mrs. Choi.

▲ Hak Ja Han, Sun Myung Moon and Won-pok Choi. This is probably during the January 1968 God’s Day Ceremony when Moon “restored” six women. Two of the six “boxes” can be seen. The Meaning Of The Day Of Victory Of Love January 2, 1997, São Paulo, Brazil The role of Mrs. Won-pok Choi. Sung Jin’s mother divorced me. Therefore, instead of Sung Jin’s mother, Won-pok Choi came out from the Choi clan and abandoned her husband and children to follow me. In spite of all the opposition of her tribe, she had to prepare for the way of True Mother and had to serve True Mother as her own mother and her daughter. Without serving True Mother like a daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, and grandmother, restoration is impossible. Do you understand what I am saying? Thus, True Father, True Mother, and the eldest son stand as one line, and then all people have to follow the eldest son. Joon Ho Seuk! [He was one of Won-pok Choi’s sons.] Did your elder brother commit suicide? (We don’t know if he was murdered or committed suicide.) In providential history, such tragic events also happen. In the spiritual world, how much suffering does he have? He was a lovely son in his family, who graduated from Seoul National University. How much did Mrs. Choi’s children miss their mother? In this sense, I am an unforgivable sinner. However, because I have to restore the way of heaven, it was necessary. Due to the fall, humankind lost the portion of responsibility. Therefore, only I can restore the disordered world. Then, how hard is it to fulfill Mother’s responsibility? True Mother could take care of the church internally, but when I went out, I accompanied Mrs. Choi, who was in the position to prepare the way of True Mother. I taught True Mother about the official way to go in the future through Mrs. Choi.

▲ Won-pok Choi and Sun Myung Moon in 1968. Won-pok Choi gave this testimony about her relationship with True Father:
One day I said to Father: “I also want to have a spiritual experience.” Smiling, he replied to me, “I don’t let intellectuals do this sort of thing – because when such a person becomes intoxicated / euphoric, they will rely solely on the spiritual experience and will not get more important work done.”
I was about to give up, but I was somewhat lonely and wanted to have the experience. He understood this. He said, “Would you like to experience it just once?” So straight away that night I was able to experience it.
Won-pok Choi gave the above testimony at the UC Fukuoka Church, Japan, on December 5, 1990. Here is the original Japanese from a UC magazine:
祝福 Shukufuku  no. 69 (June 25, 1991)  page 72

Moon was a polygamist. Polygamy has consequences. In 1964 he married Annie Choi while still married to Hak Ja Han.

Choi Won-pok, known as “Second Mother”, Moon and Hak Ja Han
From 1947 Moon lived with Chong-hwa Kim while married to Seon-gil Choi. He planned to marry Kim, but was arrested and jailed for adultery and sent to Heungnam for his crime. Kim was already married with three children! Kim’s husband reported him to the police. Others in the community did not like Moon’s promiscuity.
Moon had an on-going relationship with Won-pok Choi from the 1950s. Her bedroom was next to Moon’s in Korea and at East Garden.
The Significance Of God’s Day, Master Speaks (Sun Myung Moon) January 1, 1972, Washington, D.C. “Master stood in Adam’s position and Mrs. Choi stood in Eve’s position.”
Mrs Won-pok Choi tells it this way: One day I said to Father: “I also want to have a spiritual experience.” Smiling, he replied to me, “I don’t let intellectuals do this sort of thing – because when such a person becomes intoxicated / euphoric, they will rely solely on the spiritual experience and will not get more important work done.”

Won-pok Choi gave the above testimony at the Fukuoka Church, Japan, on December 5, 1990.
On several occasions Moon had two women pregnant at the same time – in 1955 (with Hee-jin and Dong-sook) and 1964 (with In-jin and Sam Park) and no doubt at other times. Moon simply discarded some women – they then usually lived in poverty. Their husbands did not want them back. Moon frequently changed the women in his elite “Six Marys” group. (Further details are in The Tragedy of the Six Marys book.)

The next year Moon got Annie Choi pregnant with Sam Park. Hak Ja Han is in the maroon coat holding Hyo-jin. Won-pok Choi is on the right. The boy crouching down is Hee-jin, Moon’s son with Myung-hee Kim. Dong-sook’s mother was pregnant at the same time as Myung-hee Kim, which is why Moon sent Kim into hiding in Tokyo where she gave birth. She and her child lived in poverty. Moon never bothered to send her any money during her four years in exile.
Mariah Blake: “During this era, Moon preached that sex outside of marriage was the worst possible sin. But Annie Choi and other insiders allege that Moon’s philandering continued long after his own marriage. Choi says she kept having sex with him regularly until 1964, when she moved to the United States to attend Georgetown University, in Washington, DC. Prior to her departure, Choi claims, she and Moon were married in a secret ceremony at his church. The following year, Moon made his first trip to the United States and stayed for several months with his deputy, Bo Hi Pak, near the nation’s capital. During the trip, he spent a good deal of time with Choi. (One photo from the era shows the two of them and Pak huddled in front of the Washington Monument.) Before long, Choi was carrying Moon’s child.”

Moon’s “Marriage Supper of the Lamb” with Hak Ja Han was in 1960, but Moon usually had a harem of women.
Moon’s family was a “Truly Dysfunctional Family”. Hak Ja Han was married to Moon as a seventeen year-old. Over the years she gradually got rid of most of Moon’s other women.

More Testimonies

Since Moon has died, some very interesting testimonials are showing up at Tparents.org  Here we have one from Sun Ae Kang who just happens to be another one of Moon’s early converts who were convinced to give up their families to follow him. This seems to be a prerequisite for all of Moon’s six Mary recruits up to this point.
http://www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Talks2/Kang/Kang-130700.htm
http://www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Talks2/Kang/Kang-130900.htm
Not only is she alumni with Won Pok Choi at Eh Wah University but she seems to have been rather well off before she encountered Moon. Her experiences are extraordinary as Moon advises her to leave her husband and go to Japan with Papa San Choi where she is promptly arrested and sent to prison. She engages is frenetic church activity until she happens upon one of her abandoned children…..
“Following this, a workshop camp for university students was prepared and 240 students partook in it. A few days after the camp started, I noticed a student approaching me. After I closely observed the student, I realized it was my youngest son whom I had left behind eleven years ago. He ran to me saying "Mom” and I was quite surprised. He did not want to leave my side anymore. Seeing him so weakened, my heart was in much pain. I inquired about his state and heard that after his sister had gone to the United States, he could not go into the army and his life had lost a sense of direction. I then made a big decision; the feeling that he might put an end to his life if I were to leave him in this state, came to me, so I told him to stay with me. I reported this to Father and he gave me his permission. I suppressed my gratitude and joy and started raising him from the bottom. I made him do the lowest chores starting from feeding the pigs, dogs and chickens and carrying their food in buckets, to outside work such as weeding pepper fields. While doing this, he participated in the camp for university students and newly realized the Divine Principle; he started becoming internally strong and even helped me attend Father and the True Children. Just thinking of how other members would have resented me if I had asked them to do what my son had done, I came to a deeper understanding and appreciation of lineage, family connection.“
Does this not sound a little over the top? Do you think this woman may have been brainwashed by Moon and his cohorts? Apparently Mrs. Kang is not an idiot though as she is tasked with high level proselytizing for Moon’s new found anti-communist message, Victory over Communism.
”We both paid a visit to the governor of Gangwon Province together with Mrs. Jeong Sun Choi. After receiving the governor’s permission to give a lecture to the officers of the Gangwon provincial government, we invited Chang Rim Choi to give the lecture. The lecture received a great review, enabling us to give a lecture to even the public officers working in the city of Chuncheon. On this foundation, our activities developed by the day and we could convey our message to the chairman of the Promotion of Reconstruction Committee, the director of the YMCA, pastors, universities and even broadcasting companies. We even visited the Army Second Corps, but could not meet the commander. So we went all the way to the Counterintelligence Division and asked to talk to the general in charge. An officer reprimanded us saying, “Do you know what this place is?” We had lunch at a cafeteria for army officers. We also talked with the adviser on the troop information and education and the director of a broadcasting station.
Once, a Moral Re-Armament (MRA) movement leader paid a visit to Gangwon and invited religious figures under the name of the provincial governor. I remember being the only woman invited. After the governor’s skilled greetings and personal introductions, we listened to the motive and purpose of MRA. After the presentation, the governor then said, “I would like to welcome Mrs. Rang, being the only woman here today, to say a few words” and made me stand. I tried to press down my beating heart and thought, – This is the moment I should convey Father’s teachings.“ I started by saying, "There cannot be a result without a cause. Hence, we can see a cause through its result.” All the participants on that day, including the governor, appeared quite surprised by my message. Many said they had difficulties comprehending such a highly philosophical lecture. Since that event, the chairman of the Promotion of Reconstruction Committees always comes to our church and give words of encouragement whenever the community leaders’ meeting was held. The entire Chuncheon area, starting from the governor to those working in the local government felt like members. However, I aimed for more, thinking, “How can I make all the people of Gangwon listen to the lecture?” So, I made another request to Governor Pak. According to him, the Home Affairs director, the Public Affairs chief, and the local section chief had to all agree on my proposal. He suggested that I meet them. I went to their offices at the provincial government building almost every day. With a heart that I had to accomplish this before Father returned to Korea from his world tour, all the prayers and dedications I invested paid off and I ended up persuading all those who opposed us.
One day, a local official, Seok Bong Lee, and I urged the Home Affairs senior director with earnest hearts. He gave in with a smile, saying, “No matter how hard I try, Mrs. Kang’s enthusiasm just outmatches mine.”
The next day, I met the local section chief and he quietly revealed to me an internal problem and told me to talk with the chief secretary. Soon afterward, I went to the chief secretary. The chief secretary reported the matter to the governor and once he came back, he instantly summoned the Home Affairs director and the local section chief and told them right in front of me, “Why are you opposing what other people are doing? Tell everyone that if they don’t do it, it will be the same as committing hara-kiri.” He instructed that an official notice be sent immediately. I met the Public Affairs chief and raised my two hands up saying “I am a Unification Church member” and then put them down. He told me that I looked like an innocent child when I did that. He told me that his heart did not feel like his at all. I was certain that our pleas were conveyed to Heaven and that it was God who was helping us.“
This statement is incredible because Mrs. Kang establishes for us a direct link to Frank Buchman’s Moral Rearmament Movement.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_Re-Armament
If you search deeper you will find that the MRA worked in close collaboration with the C.I.A. if they were not completely co-opted by them. The chairman of the Promotion of Reconstruction Commitees is also a familiar contact as he shows up in Deaconess Oh’s testimonial packing a pistol and threatening to kill Moon.
http://www.tparents.org/Library/Unification/Talks/Oh/Oh-130501.htm
My assumption is that this guy dispenses aid money from the United States which usually came with strings attached. We now get a sense that post war Korea was probably crawling with C.I.A. agents who were looking for likely subjects for their classified projects. (Search MK-ULTRA for a little homework assignment.) All of these early testimonies are quite valuable and you get the sense that these poor women could not tell a lie to save their life. God bless Gary Fleisher for posting them on his impressive archive. Keep up the good work.
Peace and blessings, Frank F

The Pink Elephant In Sun Myung Moon’s Unificationism
Please consider some facts before discussing Moon’s ‘Providence’
Tumblr media
Won-pok Choi, left, and Young-oon Kim, right, were enablers for Moon’s sex rituals. The students trusted the two professors at the prestigious Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul in 1955. Standing in front of Moon is Soon-wha Choi (or her sister Soon-shil). She was known as “Future True Mother.” Soon-shil Choi was arrested on July 18, 1955 for “being instrumental in the conduct of immoral sexual acts” in the Unification Church. In 1959 she refused to marry Moon and left. 1955 Newspaper report about her
“Unificationism is a mess. The True Family are a mess. The members are a mess. The mess will never go away but you can understand it. The key to understanding Sun Myung Moon’s life work is to know the pink elephant in the corner, the thing that almost no one is talking about is Moon’s penis.
Let us be clear that Sun Myung Moon covered up his agenda, lied and cheated. Moon was not a good guy. He was not a Christian. He was not interested in peace or a real church. He was never a good father, let alone a True Father. Moon wanted to be top dog, big dick, the alpha male who gets to have sex will all women. Unless this is part of any conversation then any discussion about Moon is based only on part-truths.
Moon never came clean about his sexual agenda. Moon’s original teaching was based on him having sex with as many women as possible. Ironically, Moon created a church of morally outraged sexual prudes who could not imagine that they were in a sex cult. He also expected everyone to lie and almost everyone did lie. High level leaders lied, low level members lied. The Unification Church was based on lies. The biggest lie was to deny stories about Moon’s rampant sex life. The original members knew about Moon’s sex life and they deceived everyone. Later members had to swallow the lies and repeat them.
Sun Myung Moon could not tell the truth. The Moon family could not tell the truth. Hak Ja Han and Preston (Hyun Jin) are avoiding the sexual promiscuity issue.
Hak Ja Han is continuing with the Unification Church business as usual philosophy that continues the unfounded idea that perfection exists. Sun Myung Moon claimed that he was perfect. His leaders repeated it although there never was any supporting evidence. Hak Ja Han claims to be perfect and uses her husband for validation, yet she now says that he was imperfect. Sean (Hyung Jin) and Justin (Kook Jin) state that their True Mother is the “whore of Babylon”. The Moon family have invalidated each other. Shall we mention, Preston? Let’s not, because he likes to boast that he is saving the world, but he is only trying to save his image.
Members who focus on the Divine Principle book are missing the point. Christianity, Church and family are not the point. Remember Moon was not old enough to be anyone’s father when he first propagated his sex religion. It’s perverse that he is called True Father and then has sex with his female members. In the regular member’s minds the “sisters” are Moon’s daughters but that is another lie. Moon titled himself “True Father” because he promoted the idea that only he was sinless and only he could eradicate sin. His method was sexual intercourse. No one was saved by having sex with Moon. In every case it produced misery.
Madame Hyun-shil Kang is not telling the truth. Sean is not telling the truth, he is so messed up he changes his religion every few years. Preston is keeping quiet, the misappropriated assets are safer that way. Tatiana (In Jin) has already told us that her Father forced her into “institutional rape”.
If you discuss Moon then you have to discuss his sex life because according to him it was the only road to restoration.”
How “God’s Day” was established on January 1st 1968
“[Soon-wha] Choi, who joined Moon’s church along with her mother and sister [Soon-shil Choi] in the 1950s, alleges that she engaged in numerous sexual rituals—some involving as many as six women—beginning when she was 17 years old. Her story, which is consistent with the accounts of several early followers, supports the claim that Moon’s church started out as a sex cult, with Moon “purifying” female devotees through erotic rites.”

A physical lineage from Moon for all the ‘Saints or Sages’?

Moon outside the Seoul Unification Church with statues representing Confucius, Buddha, Jesus and Mohammad (represented by the Koran on a column).
At the September 2011 dedication of the statues Hyung Jin Moon said: “Through the power of the blessing of marriage... he has enshrined the four great sages, saints, as part of the Unification Tradition.”

Father’s plans to impregnate Mrs. Jesus back in 1978. “She was a Korean woman [Chung-soon Chang] assigned by Reverend Moon to be the wife of Jesus back in the 1970s. He wanted to have children for Jesus through this woman but Mother and Ye Jin Moon found out about the plan and a big row broke out. Apparently, Mother threatened to leave Father if he went ahead with it.
It comes from a conversation that Dennis and Doris Orme [leaders of the Unification Church in Britain at the time] had with Mrs. Won-pok Choi. Mrs. Choi told them that Mother and Ye Jin Nim had found out about Father’s plans to do Mrs. Jesus, and that this was why True Parents had been arguing so heatedly. That was 1978.” Graham C. Lester
Moon had a child with Myung-hee Kim (married to Socrates). Moon took measures to give a lineage to Won-pok Choi (married to Buddha). Did Hyun-shil Kang (married to St Augustine) have a child with Moon? Did the other women, or their direct relatives, have had children with Moon? As Hyung Jin Moon has explained, the more pikareum womb cleansing and the more children Moon begot, the faster the removal of original sin from humankind could progress.
What is the significance of the photo below, with the six wives of the sages? Did Moon see it as his mission to give each sage a physical ‘sinless’ lineage on earth through these women? Did all the women, directly or indirectly, have children with Moon, thereby qualifying to be wives of the sages?
Chung-hwa Pak wrote in chapter 5 of his book the Tragedy of the Six Marys “Moon made 11 women pregnant who gave birth to children, all under the name of the marriage supper of the lamb.”

Moon married these six women to religious leaders, or sages, in the spirit world. For many years Won-bok Choi was known as ‘Second Mother’. For a long time her bedroom was next to Moon’s. According to Hyung Jin Moon, his father, Sun Myung Moon, had pikareum and yongch’e sex rituals with all of ‘Six Marys’ –and many other women – to cleanse them of original sin. Yongch’e imparts a new spirit body which would enable these women to then ‘restore’ the sages in the spirit world. This would make a connection between these sages and Moon. The sages would owe their salvation, through their Moon-given wives, to Moon, and would therefore submit to him.
It is a shamanic practise to mobilize leaders (often military leaders) in the spiritual world to work with the shaman to achieve the shaman’s goals. The favors of the spirits are gained through performing rituals and ceremonies. Moon practised such shaman ceremonies.
By marrying these women to ‘Sages,’ and giving them ‘providential’ positions, Moon locked the women into roles in his restoration narrative.

“Sun Myung Moon, the founder of the Unification Church, has declared himself as the Messiah and Lord of the Second Advent. He claims he has come as the Messiah at the end of the world as the Bible prophesied. He saves fallen satanic people by removing the original sin from them through The Blessing of Marriage ceremony. The Blessing of Marriage ceremony of the Unification Church is directly derivative from the pigarum [pikareum] or yongch’e ceremony of Korean messianic groups from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. A [pikareum] ceremony means ‘change of blood lineage’ and a yongch’e ceremony means ‘receiving a new spiritual body’. A male spiritual leader united sexually with his female disciples and a female spiritual leader had ritual sex with her male followers. The Unification Church practiced the [pikareum] or yongch’e ceremony from the 1940s until 1962 when The Holy Wine Ceremony and The Three Day Ceremony replaced this original sexual ritual. Both of these ceremonies are integral parts of The Blessing of Marriage.”

Unification Theology and Religious Syncretism
“The most fascinating example of religious syncretism in Korea is the Unification Church. Sun Myung Moon openly confesses that his special revelation, although primarily Christian, integrates the best aspects of Buddhism and Confucianism. Unificationist metaphysics especially shows the influence of Eastern dipolar concepts of reality and deity. Furthermore, the Rev. Moon boasts about his claim that he is a Korean shaman – in the best sense of that word of course.”
Nick Gier – Professor Emeritus, Department of Philosophy, University of Idaho, USA
“Moon the shaman Another of Moon’s identities is the shaman, who claims to have journeyed to the spirit world, where he met many religious figures, and conversed with God, Jesus and Satan. The discovery of Satan’s “secret crime” — allegedly the consequence of prolonged conversations with Satan, culminating in the discovery that Eve and Satan had a sexual relationship, which led to the “Fall of Man” — has been crucial to Unificationist theology. Surprisingly, however, there is no mention of Moon’s shamanic activities [in his Autobiography], despite the fact that the movement’s emphasis on spiritism appears to be increasing rather than decreasing. Heung Jin’s death in 1983 was followed by members purportedly receiving messages from his “returning resurrection” and, after the death of Moon’s mother-in-law — known to members as Dae Mo Nim (“revered mother”) — a large shrine and pilgrimage centre was opened at Cheongpyung in Korea, where a medium called Hyo Nam Kim mediated messages from her, and where members were sent for extended periods of training in the Principle.”
George D. Chryssides, University of Wolverhampton, U.K.
Introduction to ‘The Unification Church in America – A Bibliography and Research Guide’ 1987
“One, however, cannot fully understand the resonance of Rev. Moon’s thought, particularly in Korea and Japan, without understanding the importance of an indigenous shamanism in these countries. Shamanism is Korea’s oldest and one of the most important indigenous religions. In its expression the shaman, a priest, communicates with spirits or deities while entranced. Koreans under foreign subservience have always felt a special security in their indigenous guardians against evil spirits and misfortune, and Dr. Young Oon Kim asserts that Koreans of all classes have turned to the Mudangs (shamans) for guidance in periods of stress (Kim, Y.O. 1976, vol. 3: 175). I have also observed that many Americans have turned to Spiritualistic mediums in times of similar need. Spiritualism, akin to shamanism, and also an indigenous American religion, has as its protectors the native American Indian guides who speak through the medium. Rev. Moon’s asserted ability to communicate with the spirit world makes the Unification Church related to both shamanism and spiritualism.”
J. Stillson Judah, Professor Emeritus, History of Religions, Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California.
“Neither Mrs. Moon’s leadership nor Hoon Mo Nim’s ministry [in the body of Hyo-nam Kim], however, can be seen as “feminist” in the western sense. Hoon Mo Nim’s ministry, which is essentially shamanistic, is in many ways typical of the traditional spiritual role of women in Korea’s male chauvinist society.”

“Moon indirectly admits his sexual morality is flawed” Ed Coffman
Tumblr media
Here are two quotes from Sun Myung Moon:
“Parents’ Day, Children’s Day, The Day of All Things, from 1960 until January 1, 1968....I started with Parents’ Day. From then we started the age of absolute love. It is the realm of absolute love. What do men and women long for? Where do a man and a woman meet when they are in love? At the sexual part of the body...”
“What is so wonderful about Mother is that she trusts everything I say. She has absolutely obeyed what I have said, and therein lies her greatness. She has been put into situations in which a lot of women would have opposed me. But she overcame all this and became the kind of a daughter whom Father can trust. Even if a father is flawed, his daughter should think that she will take responsibility for her father's flaws...” https://www.tparents.org/Moon-Talks/SunMyungMoon00/SM000701.htm ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Mr. Moon obviously didn’t have the courage to admit his sexual exploits in a direct manner. But it’s quite obvious what he’s trying to say here. All we have to do is look at what led up to the first God’s Day in 1968 to understand Mr. Moon's “careful” phrasing.
