Hm. I hate to say it but I may be moving this blog come the new year. It's gotten too cluttered over here, and I need to move some shit around.

I wish tumblr was. Easier

#it just feels very. hard to kinda get things going sometimes #mostly its pretty easy on kurt but i can not emphasize enough that my other blogs are not inactive bc i dont want to do things #i log on to every blog i have every day and i try to reach out to people but. really only a small handful interact #and that handful follows me everywhere and is always trying and thats very nice!! i appreciate it a LOT!!!#but when a blog is at over 100 followers and u struggle to get more than 5 people to talk to you its. discouraging #esp bc so many people will also just. not read a single thing ab ur muse #there are people who have approached me who didn't know jason had powers. when that is. plastered everywhere #and that also happened when he had the url expheiriment and his graphics were entirely fire themed #like idk i have so many muses that i love and i try so hard with but no ones as excited as i am #and thats fine i dont expect them to get excited ab every muse its just. idk it feels like so much work to go on my other blogs #bc i show up and try to get interactions and a couple people send memes in but those memes wont always lead to more #i keep going to multimuse blogs so that i dont. have so many blogs that are ignored and i can tell myself im active and people care but #its usually only the same handful of muses that people care about #so ill make a solo blog for a passion muse but they're not one of the ones people were there for so it goes nowhere #idk im just. im very tired of tumblr but i dont want to leave you know #i just. idk i want to feel more like this is a fun little hobby and i can enjoy it but i dont. know how to do that #negative cw

hey. hello. guess who has been off tumblr for like, a year now and has somehow reverted back to wanting to make a flug blog. its like a never-ending cycle.

((Finalizing and making the muse bios public is a ways off (I'm waiting for ch3 to release tbh, because there'll be a lot more to use, cover, etc) but when I do for the sake of accessibility not only will each bio have its own navi (which I can provide a sample of) I'll also list the notable tws associated with each character, primarily because they can be pretty severe and I don't skimp/water them down when writing. Safety is important y'know?))

An online library of visual-narrative devices that are used in the medium of comics and other sequential art.

Happy Halloween! I'm really excited to be finally launching* what is maybe one of my most ambitious, largest work yet. This online library is the next phase of a research project that began in May 2020, when I first mused on how comics as a field doesn't have a resource that catalogues devices used in the medium. Like, theatre has devices, so does literature, and film! So why shouldn't comics? I always had an interest in comics studies and analysis. I love reading, making and thinking comics. However most of my knowledge was intuitive - I learned comics from osmosis and experience. This is true for many of my peers. Speaking about comics as a creator is hard, because we don't have a robust system of language. When we had to speak, many of us tend to reach for the language developed for film by film practitioners. If there is language specific to comics, it's either scattered in multiple blogs or hidden away in academic journals. The Comics Devices library is meant to aggregate everything and everybody into a single hub! After exploring some multiple resources, alongside some original, independent research, here is the first edition! * The Comics Devices project is still a work-in-progress! It's not final, nor will it ever be. This is why I am seeking contributors to help build this library. Translations, comics examples, etc. There is a lot of work to do! For some unfathomable reason, Tumblr has decided to suggest my blog to brand-new accounts to follow, so I've had a crazy influx of followers who, of the ones that are genuine accounts, probably have no idea what they've signed up for. (sorry.)

Weird feeling when you find a fic writer whose entire body of work is perfect for you, hits every spot, every emotional beat, has all the same kinks, sees the characters in exactly the same way you do, the writing style is exceptional, but….. every single damn fic has one thing you’d rather not read about.

Nothing serious, for me that’s literally just kidfic, I don’t enjoy reading about children or parenthood. Maybe for someone it’s casefic, or au, or extended pining, not dealbreakers but features of un-interest. And you’re dying to read everything that author has ever written, you’re so excited that you’ve found them, but like 4-5 fics in you’re like, huh… this is gonna be in every single one of them isn’t it. And then you have to choose to either keep reading through your mild distaste, or to abandon a stellar writer whose every other aspect hits the feels like a homing missile.

#fandom #fanfic #this is ABSOLUTELY not meant to hate on any writers who write their favorite tropes #I fucking love every single fic writer and understand that they primarily write for themselves and support that #y’all are my light and I wish you all a very write whatever you want #and I would never bring this sentiment to any comment section or particular author’s work #this is just me musing on my little blog to my ten followers about this weird dilemma I’m sure a lot of us have #with regard to Sherlock in particular ugh I wish they never wrote a baby into the show #my personal disinterest in kid stuff notwithstanding #the shift in the dynamic of John and Sherlock’s lifestyle with a kid in the mix is… disappointing #which also concerns me wrt a potential season 5 but that’s neither here nor there
