that last post got me thinking about my own wraiths so I decided to post them. my eldar went through a lot of prototype type schemes before I settled on the yme-loc orange and gray, but the wraiths were technically the first eldar unit I ever completely painted. even tho they were the first, I'm a lot happier with their redone coat of paint

#3 - Wraithguard Again, 40 minutes from start to finish. Starting to gain a bit of a feeling for softness/hardness of the standard photoshop brushes, and a bit of a feeling for how pressure-sensitive transparency works. It's still very easy to blur and fuzz everything when working with a soft brush though. Phew. Digital, Adobe Photoshop and Wacom Intuos Pro M, 1000x1000px

Exodite Wraithguard: Complete!

Sooo, I actually finished these guys a little while back, but kept putting the photography off like the trash creature I am.

So yeah, these guys are based off of the cop bots from necromunda (or, if you promise not to tell GW, a 3d printed proxy ;) ) because of goofy head canon reasons.

But yeah, big chunky robits, stolen by the space elves and retooled with heavy weaponry for future raids, covered in grafitti.

Bonus: Robit says Lesbian Pride, also YEAG!

Wraithguard are just fucking hellish to paint and I have no idea why

like, there's just something about the design of the models that makes painting them extremely awkward

and building them isn't much better; getting the arms to line up is practically impossible

does anyone else have these problems?

super productive night for me. I stayed up way too late but I'm happy with the work I did. everything above is now up to my tabletop standard, which for me is no primer showing and my 3 main colors represented, as well as having some sort of texture on the base. though I still have a lot of work to do, I'm really proud of what I was able to get done tonight.

it felt so good finally peeling the tape off those flight stands for my windriders after they've been hidden for all those years. hopefully I'll be playing with them tomorrow, again for the first time in years.

finally, I was able to finish something tonight: putting the decals on my wraithblades was the last step, and I'm happy to say that all of my wraith units are now 100% complete! I'll get a group photo, but they're the main units that compelled me to play elder all those years ago, so I'm stoked that they're all finished

WIP Post: Exodite Wraithguard

Heyyy, been a little minute since my last post, so here's a WIP of 1 of 5 wraithguard I've been working on.

Now, the eagle eyed among you might notice a fair bit of freehand going on. That'd be because I'm a fucking dingus who neither knows her limits nor how long it'd take to do multiple, graffiti-esque freehand designs on each model. Ah well, 1 mostly down, 4 to go.
