Have some sketches of one of my favourite moments in Wrestlemania. I don't draw big guys very often so I'm planning on sketching a couple more moments as a sort of study.
Wrestlemania Main Event Reviews - Wrestlemania XXVIII
The Rock def. John Cena in 30:35
Once in a lifetime! Machine Gun Kelly, Skylar Grey and P. Diddy sing before Cena comes out and MGK explains what an underdog is for us. Rock comes out following a Flo Rida and Sia performance because of course, and all the backing dancers hold their poses completely as Rock enters which looks very uncomfortable. Cena gets a mixed response but Rock is a hometown boy so they love him even more! They look around Hogan/Rock style and it’s excitable but not quite as palpable.
They lock up and Cena wins the power game to start. Duelling Cena chants and they lock up again, but Rock uses his power this time. Rock sinches in the head lock, goes to work the arm but Cena counters, Rock with a great technical manoeuvre, arm drags and roll up for 2! Great stuff and Cena is shook! Rock is running but Cena hits and arm drag and locks in a grounded headlock. Back and forth and Rock attempts a Sharpshooter but Cena frantically escapes. He reenters the ring but Rock is ready. Cena hits some shoulder barges in the corner and then a clothesline. Rock brings the fight but gets sent over the top rope when Cena ducks with the rope. Cena drops Rock on the barricade and the announce table before taking a breather on the inside. He comes back and hits a kick to the ribs before taking Rock inside for a 2-count. Cena continues to target the ribs and hits a belly-to-belly. Cena is definitely playing a little more heelish here. Cena locks in a bearhug as Rock comes off the ropes which is the best one I’ve seen in all these matches! I mean it’s a bearhug, but it looks like it would hurt isn’t too awkward! Rock fights back and hits a big DDT. Cena lays in some strikes but Rock returns them and runs wild. Spinebuster and attempts the People’s Elbow, but Cena attempts the STF and then he runs wild, hits the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, and looks over confident. I like this parallel and story work!
Attempts the AA but Rock escapes, bad-looking double clothesline and they’re both down. Back and forth between Cena and Rock, Cena counters a taunting punch from Rock into an Attitude Adjustment for a 2-count! Great! Cena lifts Rock up but gets hit with a Rock Bottom out of nowhere! But Cena kicks out! Rock fights Cena in the corner who counters a clothesline into a side slam. Cena goes up top and hits a leg drop to the back of the head for a 2-count! Rock avoids an AA and locks in the Sharpshooter! Cena reaches the rope but Rock locks it in again, Cena gets the ropes again. Rock stalks Cena on the outside and throws him into the steel steps. He slams him off the steps and heads back in, but Cena fights back on the apron, sunset flip, and locks in the STF! Cena pulls him back from the ropes and there’s an arm drop spot but Rock stays conscious and stays in it! He claws to the rope and Cena breaks the hold. Rock hits a Samoan Drop on Cena and they’re both down. Rock and Cena go back and forth, Rock Bottom countered, Attitude Adjustment countered, spinebuster and Rock hits the People’s Elbow for a 2-count! Cena rolls up Rock but he kicks out as the crowd cheers Rock on. Cena catapults Rock into the corner and rolls him up for 2. He carries Rock up and puts him up top, attempts to hit a superplex but Rock shoves him off. He hits a crossbody, Cena rolls through, AA, but Rock kicks out! Cena decides to attempt the People’s Elbow, Rock springs up with the Rock Bottom, and he wins! Great finish! Cena was kind of laughing along as he attempted it, the tonal shift to the finish was great and had good story implications. Rock celebrates as Cena sits dejected on the ramp.
Pros: Story, parallels, out of nowhere spots, big fight feel, high star power
Cons: Slow at points, length
This was a big time match! The story and parallels in the action was really good here, as Cena was overconfident coming in and didn’t take the Rock seriously, with the finish being really great because when Cena took his eye off the ball and when he tried to be the Rock and not John Cena, he fumbled. This match has a lot of star power and there were many great spots! It was a bit long and slow for my liking as it wasn’t as grand as they thought it was, but it was a big deal and had a lot of good in it!

Little Facts about Imani:
Imani Cove is one of the 4 Horsewomen of the WWE alongside Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley.
Imani is a graduate of the Wild Samoans Training Center.
Right now Imani has over 13 tattoos and counting, 13 to symbolize her lucky number. And yes, a good amount of her tattoos were done on Friday the 13th.
Both Imani and her sister Ariella were predominately raised by their paternal grandparents.
Imani, though a social butterfly, tends to keep her private extremely secretive.
Imani has an extensive background in dance and gymnastics.
Imani has a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and is registered as a licensed massage therapist. If she hadn't gone into wrestling, she wanted to become physical therapist for children.
During her early days in FCW and NXT Developmental, Imani played the part of Roman Reigns' manager. When he got called up to the main roster, Imani originally was meant to be called up but at the last minute was told she would be staying behind.
Imani's grandmother Evangeline was terrified learning her baby wanted to be a wrestler, but she agreed to let her train on one condition: that she went to college and get a degree just in case.
In early 2018, Imani suffered a torn ACL while competing against Charlotte Flair during a house show. Her injury forced her to relinquish her Smackdown Women's Championship at the time and miss both WrestleMania 34 & 35. She would make her in-ring return in 2020 at the Royal Rumble in her hometown Houston, TX and be in the final four of the Royal Rumble Match.
A few of Imani's major wrestling influences are Rey Mysterio, Chyna, Lita, The Wild Samoans, Batista, Trish Stratus, Eddie Guerrero, and Shawn Michaels.
Imani reps her hometown teams the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros.
She is very close friends with Rhea Ripley, Zelina Vega, Naomi, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Bayley, Tamina, and Natalya.
Imani is fluent in three languages: Spanish, French, and German. She knows a little Japanese and is currently learning Italian.
She has an insane sweet tooth. She loves brownies, cakes, and ice cream, especially cookies-and-cream ice cream.
Imani's signature fragrance is a perfume she created at a local shop in New Orleans. It's a blend of vanilla, black orchid, and amber that she pairs with Eos Cashmere Vanilla lotion.
Imani grew up in an affluent musical family. Her grandmother was a jazz singer in New Orleans for 30 years and her grandfather played trumpet for her band (that's how they met).
Imani has three pets: an orange cat named Mushu, a black cat named Binx, and a Staffy named Moose.
The first thing she did with her first big paycheck was pay off her grandparents house in Houston and moved them to Tampa to be close to her.
Her favorite two matches of her career are the NXT Iron Woman Match against Bayley & main eventing WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair.
Her sister Ariella is 7 years younger than her. Ari is a woman in STEM and is currently studying in South Korea in a program for her masters in biomedical engineering.

Monday Night Raw
February 28, 1994
I was thinking about when poor Glenn broke his hand (non graphic) during a match 💔.I believe it was during the Sunday night Heat episode from March 28, 2000 which apparently was shown only internationally, but I swear I have seen when this particular moment happened. :(
He wrote about this moment in his book, but it was when he was coming down from a clothesline and his hand caught on the mat when he tried to roll.
Anyways, what made me really sad ( and feel sympathy for my fav guy) was that he kept preforming ,albeit very little, when his hand was still healing and he made appearances with his hand in his little cast/wrap. The first televised example of this happened during Wrestlemania 2000 I believe.
Paul is looking sharp in that matching suit !
A scene just so bizarre out of context .
Rikishi celebrating with Too Cool and a chicken mascot , while Kane (Rikishi’s tag team partner) and Paul Bearer stands in the corner.
This gave us Pete Rose Baseball Bat Kane however.
isn’t he a cutie omg ❤️❤️ bless his little heart.
This PPV was absolutely crazy and just had so much stuff going on.
Kane's warning for facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania: Raw, March 28,...
youtube
@bigredsweetiepie I wasn't sure if you had seen this clip from the 2005 storyline of Randy Orton deciding that he wanted to try to break the Undertaker's Wrestlemania winning streak yet but I shared it anyway. I don't know why Kane warned Randy about how difficult that would be but it's still nice that he did that.
The JerichoPunk timeline (uninformed, unreferenced, according to my memory):
Jericho and Punk have a feud in WWE which like many good feuds is about Punk's alcoholic dad and the *issues*. Jericho repeatedly douses him in alcohol on RAW and on house shows. Punk's sister slaps Jericho. They wanted to have Jericho tattoo his name on Punk in the ring but Vince vetoed it because of the blood and because he's stupid and didn't fucking get it.
Punk defeats Jericho at Wrestlemania 28, by the end of which Jericho gives him "thanks for the good match" scritches. Jericho denies this despite it happening in full view of the camera. We all saw it, Chris.
Punk has a miserable time at WWE working through injuries and a misdiagnosed staph infection which could have killed him.
Punk walks out of RAW and disappears.
WWE fires Punk on his wedding day.
Punk spills the tea about leaving WWE on Colt Cabana's podcast. He also says Chris Jericho is lying to the dirt sheets about him no longer having friends in wrestling and that he simply ignored people who wanted him to be on their podcast for their own agenda and cloud and didn't actually care about him.
Jericho says that wasn't him asking Punk about appearing on his podact and that he has no agenda.
Punk and Colt are sued by one doctor who treated, or rather did not treat, Punk at WWE. Punk and Colt win the case but have a falling out over lawyer fees.
In 2020 Jericho donates $38,360 to Trump's campaign.
In 2021 Jericho's wife is photographed at the Capitol storming.
Punk returns to AEW.
Punk and Jericho are briefly on commentary together. Jericho appears to want to strike up conversations with Punk, who is clearly focused on playing his role as someone actually interested in the Darby/Garcia match he is watching. Jericho mentions being slapped by Punk's sister to both of their amusement.
In an interview Punk mentions that it's so interesting that now that he's in AEW he's working alongside people who could have spoken up for him back when he was being sued by WWE but chose not to.
Rumours about Punk getting Colt Cabana off TV are leaked through Meltzer.
During the All Out 2022 media scrum, an injured Punk burns the barn, right in front of everyone, while the farm owner sits next to him, sheepishly agreeing that it's Punk's right to burn the barn. Then Punk returns to his locker room, where he gets into a physical altercation with the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega over burning the barn. A while later Chris Jericho is sitting next to the farm owner at the media scrum with a strange smile on his lips.
Punk disappears.
Jericho tells Meltzer that on the night of the brawl he called Punk a locker room cancer and, like, was totally there during the brawl out, and basically this story is about him. He also tells Meltzer that he, being the locker room leader, told the boys that survived the barn fire that he'll keep them save from Punk, because he'll make sure Punk never returns.
Chris Jericho wrestles a mystery former Ring of Honor Champion: Surprise, it's Colt Cabana, back on Dynamite!
An internal investigation into the events of the brawl out is made, the results of which have not been shared yet, but the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega are back, Punk is out due to injury, and his attack dog Ace Steel, who was also involved in the brawl, is fired from AEW.
Jericho retweets a clip from his match with Punk at Wrestlemania 28 saying he "always loved working with @CMPunk... [sic]".
Punk posts an ig story, refuting a Meltzer forum post that claims he was being flaky about jobbing for Moxley and ends it by calling Jericho "a liar and a stooge."
Jericho says that it doesn't matter if you don't like someone in the locker room, as long as you can work together.
Scenarios for Punk's return are being discussed and a meeting between Punk and Jericho has supposedly been planned. Rumours have it TK bought them a get along shirt.
