it's so sad to me, as someone who uses Pinterest for writing stuff, to see how much them trying to monetize has tanked the app overall.

like. you no longer get an email if a pin is removed. you have to go to the reports section, where they will show you a blurry thumbnail you can't open to view. thereby, offering you zero proof there was violating content. which means you can't effectively argue against it.

you can hit the appeal button, but?

9 times out of 10, it won't be reactivated. even if it's not actually explicit or featuring any of their flagged terms. because whoever is paying their bills added NEAT new policy wording that's so vague that a nudity violation doesn't even have to contain nudity anymore. or anything explicit.

just...suggestive material. and anything that falls under the kink umbrella (even if there's zero nudity involved. it just has to have the appearance of kink).

(another aside, this same app offers search selections that definitely fall under kink, but tell me you're unsurprised that the selections are all very white and very straight)

At this point, I would not be surprised if it was just bots all around, with zero human oversight, bc I cannot tell you the last time I've been able to reach an actual person for a support question.
