thinking about the portrayal of Cecil going from mysterious and sort of separated observer to catty dork sticking his nose physically into everything again

My brother added on to my prediction with his own prediction: In the season finale, Steve will be a badass and save the day

But that like actually has merit. Cause in Old Oak Doors, Steve was the one that pushed Kevin into the DOW for saying he could "fix" Janice. He kinda single-handedly saved the day right there

So, June 15th 2024, Steve will do another badass heroic thing

One thing about Welcome to Night Vale that makes it so engaging for me is that Cecil's repetition subconsciously created this sort of call and response effect in me.

The easy one is the Glow Cloud (all hail). Like, even if I hadn't typed that all hail just now, I still would (and did) say it. Others are similar follow-ups and descriptions immediately following mostly proper nouns:

John Peters--you know, the farmer?

Larry Leroy, out on the edge of town,

Old Woman Josie (out by the car lot)

...and various iterations of how Steve Carlsberg is just the worst

These are just a tiny handful of examples; I'd say there at least a dozen or two that have wormed their way into my subconscious to be recited without effort or awareness as they occur.

I know that for some people, this kind of repetition is going to be an irritant. But for me, it not only cements these characters in their own reality but also brings me into Night Vale itself. It brings Night Vale to me.

I'm not sure if this is a thing that exists already but I NEED to see Dr. Janet Lubelle and Lauren Mallard girlbossing it up together (with the goal to exact revenge on Carlos and all of Night Vale of course)

what's your thoughts on more recent wtnv? i'm hundreds of eps behind, is it worth catching up?

personally I still love it. I know it’s daunting to look at it and see like 250 episodes but it feels very much like it always did. The arcs are good and numerous! There’s enough mystery in Night Vale that they just. haven’t run out of stuff to make the show about yet. Satan was there once. sometimes Kevin from Desert Bluffs turns up. Carlos and Cecil have a son now. the current arc is about Cecil’s childhood. i can’t speak for the live shows bc ive not seen any but I presume they slap. the glow cloud’s child went to college. im not even going to tell you what happened to Station Management bc it is too sad. this got out of hand. please continue with night vale it’s so good

really like the concept of an insane professor that one day just decides to suddenly quit and go into the desert and never come back. and also serendipitously find his soulmate. most normal stem worker

theres something very funny to me about the possibility that the distant prince from the narrow place could be Kevin. like cecil has to go through this extremely traumatic event every once in a while and he watches himself die and its really just awful. and then there's kevin who's really just trying to figure out how and why he woke up in the void again.
