Another hand-knitted piece that I photocopied then traced onto lino and printed.
The ink that I printed with is pretty old so I'll have to do a reprint but I'm pretty happy with the overall look.
These wool prints will probably be used as motifs on my documentation work and as album artwork for all of the audio that I will be collecting as a part of my project.
I had to assemble it upside down as I have no beam to hang it from at the moment. When I am allowed into my presentation space the large metal skirt will be the top of the structure and this is where the surface transducers will be housed. The entire structure will then be warped up and made into a large cylindrical loom that I will weave into.
Trying out "branding" for my project. I'm combining images of the crafted pieces I've been collecting with the packaging and notes of correspondence that I have received alongside these pieces.
My "logo" is one of my hand-knitted prints.
Video: Snippet of my interview with Frieda Strachan that perfectly captures the essence of my project.
With the structure for my shade possibly standing at 4ft tall and with a diameter of 3ft, I now have to work out the technicalities of filling this large surface area with my individual pieces of craft.
This only the work of 5 participants and with the work of many more to still be delivered to me this size should do pretty nicely as there will be enough gaps between each piece of craft that a nice amount of light should be able to shine though from the centre of the shade.
