Alright, so it seems like my original submission might have gotten eaten, so I'll try again! If my original was not eaten, my apologies! Hi, my name is Riven! I'm transmasc nb (he/they), 30+. Minors, Terfs, racists, homophobes, and transphobes dni. I generally like my partners to be 21+. I've recently updated my blog to a multi-muse and I'm looking to add some new roleplay partners (not trying to replace anybody!).

My timezone is CST, but I currently work nights on the weekends. I'll have my phone during that time, and will be active even while I'm at work. I generally tend to reply quickly, but not always. Please keep in mind that I am not a machine and roleplaying is not my job. I tend to like to rp within fandom, but I am also more than okay with interacting with fandomless OCs! My current muses are Jack of Blades (Dan Stevens is the faceclaim for his alter ego Xiro) from Fable and Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth and I would love to find people willing to play muses from either property, but I am fine with writing in any fandom I am familiar with (there are a lot... I have over 19 years of writing experience and I tend write novella-length replies, particularly when writing here on tumblr. I do not expect length to be matched, but do appreciate effort. I do like to use icons when rping here on tumblr, but don't tend to use them on Discord.

I write a lot of violent and dark imagery that may be disturbing to some, so please keep that in mind when interacting (I am a huge fan of whump and hurt/comfort, for example!). I guess that counts as 🕊️?

     The road from Bowerstone to Brightwall was a well-traveled one, especially in the summer months when the snow and ice in the valley had melted away to reveal the stunning flowers and wind-swept grasses. Between students seeking a higher education at the Academy, Dweller caravans making their seasonal moves, traveling merchants carting wagons full of goods to and fro, and the occasional rich man seeking a sabbatical in the countryside, it was a wonder that the roads weren’t chock full of people 24/7. On this mid-morning, however, as the lone teacher made his way up the dirt path, the way seemed to be blissfully clear.      Xiro took in a big breath of fresh air, basking in its crisp fragrance. In all his years as the Jack of Blades, he never once thought he would come to appreciate the quiet peace he’d found here in Mistpeak Valley. And yet here he was, all these years later, marveling at nature’s beauty.       Much to his annoyance, that peace was soon interrupted by a shout from the woods. Bandits. Of course. The summer meant more of them, too. More cries from the tree line. He could never enjoy a moment alone, it seemed.      “People, people, always too many people!” he grumbled, stalking towards the forest’s edge. Might as well see what was happening. It’d give him an opportunity to bloody his blade, if nothing else.

          There were times Hood fancied he should have bitter feelings toward Xiro. Sometimes he supposed he did. Those moments were rare and far between though. Instead, Hood found that he was quite fond of having the great “Jack of Blades” back. He wasn’t likely to forget what he had done but he was an entity that recognized him for what he was and didn’t dart away. Provided he kept his nose clean, Hood was thrilled.

          So it was with some trepidation that Hood found him wounded.

     At some point, during Xiro’s story his gauntlet had come to rest on the hilt of his own sword. More of a comfort than anything else. “The thing I tossed? You’re losing me here. That’s....a lot to process.”

     The ton of metal dropped to a knee so that Hood could look up into Xiro’s face. It was a theatrical move. Considering Hood could very well “see” well enough regardless of where his head was. There was importance to being seen observing though. Anything else would be obscenely rude. “You have anyone looking after those wounds of yours?”

It was odd for Xiro to get himself involved in people’s personal issues.  This case, however, was significantly different.  The sense of terror radiating from this man before him felt all too familiar, though he was never the one feeling it.  He was always the one inflicting it, letting his venomous words and fear inducing magic cause people to scream out in horror, to never know the comfort of a full night’s sleep again.  They would see his mask in their dreams, and it would haunt them.  It would curse them for the rest of their lives to speak only his will.... though this person wasn’t cursed; at least not by the infamous Jack of Blades.  Thus, an oddity of thrashing fear.  Such raw panic pulled at his attention like a fly to honey, or a serpent to a wounded animal.  It dragged out his latent desire to cause such terror again!

There was a time where he could simply glance at a town and it would crumble, the citizens turning on one another in a blind panic and tearing each other to pieces.  There was a time when such a task was done without planning, merely on a whim.  There was a time when balverines and other vicious creatures would flock to him, to follow his every whim out of fear.  But that was also a time in which the Court of Blades prospered... a time long since passed.

With a heavy sigh Xiro had pulled himself back to the current moment, back to seeing the other in a state of nightmare-induced panic.  A bitter portion of him wanted to stab this man as a ‘wake up call’; petty revenge for having unknowingly reawakened a twisted part of himself that he could not yet satisfy.  But he opted not to.  Jack rather liked this body after all, it would be a shame to abandon it now.

So he returned to his persona of ‘Xiro the Incompetent’, tapping the other’s shoulder and falling back onto the ground as he was pushed.  Panic when coming out of a nightmare was natural, and if he was being honest?  Hilarious.  But he couldn’t laugh, only glare at the well-dressed other with all the apparent confidence of a tired goldfish.  “I’m not even on you, relax!”  His voice portrayed a similar amount of backbone; in other words, not much at all.

“Was just waking you up.  You seemed to be quite frightened... bad dreams?”  Jack did, to an extent, want to know what could cause such terror.  He could guess...he could guess one thousand times over and hardly cover the creatures that dwelled in the Void.  Of course, he didn’t expect to be told anything useful either.

"...." Jewel was quiet for a while, their eyes searching his face for...something? It was only a few seconds before they pressed their lips together, then spoke "I....I'm sorry um.....I'm sure I'm supposed to know who that is...but...." They blushed, "Ah I'm sorry....that's kind of embarrassing isn't it..."

Xiro stared at them a moment, brows knitted together. He struggled not to feel offended, but his pride had definitely suffered a wound. "Do you think this is a joke? Are you making fun of me?"

The voice was thick with sleep and pain and rattled in his throat like so much gravel. His eyes were open, though; half-lidded and glassy, but open. He lifted a lazy, limp hand to ruffle their hair, but it ended up being more of a weak pat on the head.

"It'll... be okay."
