How would the chrysalis gang draw themselves and what is their artistic medium of choice?

Hiiii!!! Thank you so much for the question @coffeintheface ♡♡♡

After a ton of research regarding to artistic mediums and comparison to their personalities, these are my answers to each character:

1. William - I can't exactly say he's an artist, but he's a pro in sketching every species of insect he studied. He would study himself in every layer or fiber of his existence just like in every biology class with only paper and a fountain pen. Specifically "Leonardo da Vinci drawing anatomy" art style.

2. Amber - She always dreams of getting those Regency dresses she saw in those paintings, so I researched those oil painting portraits I also used to reference her while sketching. She would be flawless as an oil painter, confident in every stroke and detail.

3. Michael - With such a soft and warm presence, he would paint with watercolors inspired by his synesthesia. While listening to an orchestra playing classical music on vinyl, he would play around with colors depending on the mood he interpreted in his imagination. Another reason is this because it's funny. 4. Manuel - He is a tough cookie, but sometimes brash and playful. Mexican ironwood carving is the artistic medium that suits him best. I was fascinated that it can be carved as little bears! It would be inaccurate since it became popular during the 1960s, but I can already imagine he carved himself as a standing bear. 5. Bruce - If being creative means getting their hands dirty, then colored chalks and charcoal are perfect for him! He can scribble whatever he has in mind on a blackboard or the sidewalks, like food or that one girl he used to have a crush on in weeks.

Head Engineer:

He’s a picky eater. Absolutely disastrous cook as he’s used to space protein and drinks. He does like smoothies a lot!

Admits he’s a bit of a Yes Man, and if you agree, he agrees extra for no reason. If he disagrees on something though, he’s competitive about it.

He has had a futuristic prosthetic hand the whole time. You wouldn’t find out about this until you both high five and it makes a wicked clank sound.

Very much a shoulder contact guy. Bumps you with his elbow, pats your shoulder. If you say something funny next to him, he’s hitting your back and his knee. If you’re standing in front of him he would squeeze your shoulders. “Wow, you’re tense Captain.” Before stepping around you.

He tries often not to stand in the way, but he really does like being around you.

Sometimes he watches you at work for a little too long, it’s very endearing how the fluorescent light hits your helmet. Once you look over, he’ll turn the attention to something else, pat your shoulder and say something about how he could always trust your judgement.

Settling on a new planet would be very jarring for him. For all of you, really. He’s been a spaceman for as long as he can remember. He’s forgets that stuff doesn’t float in the air, and blankly stares at the ground before laughing to himself.

Sometimes he is a bit zoned out, turns to you with a worried look. He admits, sometimes, he feels like something should have gone wrong on their way here. Things feel a little too perfect.. But you’d probably dismiss that. He nods and smiles.

Yancy:

Surprisingly good cook, somehow he makes prison slop taste good. If he was in the outside world, he’d have good taste. Guards have previously found spices under his mattress. How? How.

He is fairly stubborn, maybe even a bit childish at times. If he’s losing an argument he repeats the last thing said with a nerd voice. Compromising on stuff is surprisingly easy though.

His tattoos can move and shift, but he’s not entirely sure what that means. Sometimes if he squints real hard at ‘em, he sees something that may warn about what could happen soon.

He isn’t very touchy, but he will lean on you. Drape an arm over your shoulders. Very lazy actions, he’s comfortable with you. Sometimes sleeping on someone is more comfortable than a bed.

When he laughs, it’s loud, it’s unabashed joy. Has to stand up and walk around to settle back down, otherwise it just keeps going.

I feel like he’d appreciate little notes and wristbands and such, he has a bandana and a prized shiv from other inmates.

He has tried to make a bracelet for you but it didn’t go well. Instead, he rips up some material off the end of his pants— he had to roll them up, they’re kinda long for him anyway — and ties the fabric around your arm. He’s not good at gifts, but you know there was effort.

Goodness gracious, I have learned so much from this lab report.

Everytime I hear any classical music or any fancy vintage music from the 18th century, I imagine my ocs getting their paws dirty commiting crimes underneath the moonlight with the classical music playing in the background to highlight the overall mood or tension.

I love that even though I don't write anything down, I know how their journey goes. With my vivid imagination, I can see clearly on how their story starts, how it happen, and how it ends. I'm not sure when do I have to spare my energy on writing though.

I'm feeling much better now.

Not only because our class got suspended again from the recent typhoon and floods, but also my self doubts are also vanished.

After a 2-week self isolation, I finally talk to my friends because maybe I can convince myself otherwise that they won't leave me . Turns out, they were worried the day I isolated myself from them. I mean everyone in our classroom. I never talked to them, or even say hello. It baffles me when I found out I got most of my classmates in the classroom worried for me which is thoughtful.

That made me realize I'm not alone, even when my people from the past left me. I keep asking myself what is wrong, or why they leave me, or anything else. I guess it's part of growing up. Like relationships starts to grow apart as we grow and explore our own adventures. People come and people go, and they have to focus on their own lives. (So all I could say right now is good luck!)

And somehow I'm still grateful in the life I am heading to, where I can learn something new, meet someone new, and even accomplish something new. It sounds so refreshing when you don't have to worry much because it's their decision when you have to worry for yourself if your sad, or hurt.

I got so nervous when our professor announced that we will have a remedial in Physics. He said he will send the list later with the names mentioned who will take the test. I was so scared I might fail and don't want to disappoint again because they know me as an academic achiever.

Recently this afternoon, I was still waiting for that list to be uploaded by our professor. I actually started when I woke up around 10 juju, but nothing. Maybe he forgot, I thought. Until that list arrived.

It was announced by one of our classmates because their meeting just ended and he's one of the officers at the organization. Thankfully, I'm not on the list. That's good news. The bad news is I was also informed when my classmate added about the uncertainty from our professor's response. The names mentioned was written to give it another chance to pass his subject. Either some of us who are unmentioned are passed because of our past laboratory activities added in our grades, or failed in the process by just the midterms and finals alone. It was so confusing.

That made me overthink a lot, and I don't know what to expect. I have to catch up at my failed subject for the next semester, and it can be brutal. I know I have some classmates who are less active than me, but it's still scary since he kept it as a secret just to be announced on Christmas and I HATE IT!!! I WANNA REST NOW PLEASE 😭😭😭

Anyways, that's all. Atleast things has started to cool down for a bit. The workload gets even lesser and I'm so happy I managed to work things out.
