Hoy, en un acontecimiento sin precedentes, Carlos Yaroa, candidato a regidor, se unió a la candidata a alcaldesa, Raysa Vásquez, y al actual diputado Luis René Fernández para llevar a cabo el mano a mano más grande en Limonal Abajo, La Salsa 1, La Salsa 2, La Salsa 3, La Guama y Los Ramos. Este encuentro no solo fue una muestra de la fuerza de la comunidad, sino también una oportunidad para fortalecer los lazos entre los líderes y la gente que representan. Blog 5: Lugar de habla hispana

Elegir la actividad de lugar de habla hispana. Me gustaría mucho visitar la república dominicana. La república dominicana tiene un rica historia y un cultura unica que me gustaría experimentar. Encontre un hotel que se llama Barcelo Bavaro Palace y muy lindo. Es un hotel de cinco estrellas y muchos piscinas. El hotel tambien esta cerca de algunos campos de besibol y el besibol es razón por que me gustaría visita la república dominicana. Me gustaría ver algunos juegos de beisbol y ver que competitivos son. El que más me emocionada es la comida. Escuchar que la republica dominicana tenga comida increíble. Tengo muchos ganas de probar chivo guisado, sancocho, yaroa, y muchas cosas más. Aprender mucho haciendo este actividad. Aprender mucho sobre republica dominicana y los diferentes tipos de alimentos que tienen. Disfrutar haciendo esta actividad y puedo planear un viaje futuro. Nada fue realmente dificil.

Note: Yaroa is a Dominican street food, and it is basically "French fries or a mash of a root vegetable or tuber such as plantain or yuca, then layered with meat and then cheese.". I haven't had it myself, but finding out about it made me think Vixi would love it.

Dominican food

In the Dominican Republic it is all about family to us, and there is something that makes are family’s stronger which is the food. There is so many different dishes that are made in the Dominican Republic. I feel like I’m always learning of a new dish when I go to my family’s house or event. But one dish that I believe many people know about is called Mangu. Mangu is made with boiled Plantains and are mashed after with butter, we usually eat this with salami, egg, cheese, sauteed red onions cooked in vinegar. This meal we usually eat it for breakfast, this is probably my favorite dish from every dish That I will talk about. The next dish that I will talk about is called sancocho, this is like soup but every family cooks it differently than others. Some people call it the 7-meat stew. Many Dominicans like using 7 meats in the soup, but in my opinion, I don’t really like that way and I think I’m the only Dominican who does not like it that way and many might think I’m weird because of that. But in the soup, there is other ingredients like plantains, Yuca, etc. This dish we usually like eating this whenever its cold or raining outside it just taste better, might sound weird but it does. Another dish that we love is a chimichurri this a Dominican burger. This is kind of our fast-food side of food. The burger is made with onions, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, ground beef seasoned, then the chimi sauce which is made of ketchup and mayonnaise. This burger is amazing and the first thing you want to do when you get to the Dominican Republic go and get yourself a Chimichurri. There is one more food that Dominicans eat a lot, and it is called a yaroa, yaroa can either be made with maduros or French fries. Yaroa is made of one of the two with either chicken or ground beef and cheese with chimi sauce added at the end. This you don’t really make at home because you usually go to a chimi truck or Dominican restaurant to eat this food. This is considered like a Dominican fast food.

Every family makes these dishes their own way and some of the dishes some families don’t make at all. In my family we don’t really make the chimichurris we usually just go to Washington heights to buy one or g now there are many restaurant’s in Brooklyn opening up that are starting to make food just like Washington heights and now if you don’t really want to take the trip to Washington heights because you are being lazy, you don’t have to because your local Dominicans started to open up around your neighborhood. Even though in my opinion there is nowhere that makes the chimichurri like Washington heights, I feel like they have the best ones and even better than the Dominican Republic. But again, that is just my opinion.
