Chapter 4
Tumblr media
It was late… very late. The type of late where you try not to look at the time because it’s just a reminder of the sleep you are losing out on while mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. That’s what Soobin was going through when Yeonjun’s pictures popped up on his feed. Just photos of him on Venice beach. Yellow sleeveless shirt, teal blue hair fading to black. Not very interesting. Normally he’d just like it and make a mental note to comment at a more reasonable time. But when he glanced down he noticed it’s a few weeks old. Odd that he missed it. That's when the comment caught his eye. He honestly was not a fan of reading the comments. While there’s loads of lovely ones there’s always one or two that hurt. Even after being in the business this long it’s truly not something you get used to. At least, not for Soobin. But tonight he’s bored and it’s Yeonjun’s, not his.
He taps the screen to see mostly people calling him handsome, emojis, people trying to get his attention with “different and unique comments' ', funny ones, and the long paragraphs about how MOA can do their part to help further their career. He truly does believe the fans are so devoted it’s sweet, albeit a bit weird at times. But under this particular post, he sees a lot of guesses as to who took the photos. Guesses of one of the members, staff, lots of Gyu oddly enough. He chuckled, knowing it was you who took the pictures because he remembered seeing you from afar having to raise your hands up to get a good angle due to the height difference.
He suddenly switched to his private account to stalk your account. You’re very photogenic and he noticed how your picture was taken in, edited so perfectly, and then how you added some stupas photo at the end that made him giggle again. He started to think about your hair and how it was a charm point. It was always so pretty and smelled nice. Or your smile. He’s heard from Yeonjun that your figure was something you always struggled with and you weren’t as confident about, but from the photos he’s seeing from shoots you’ve done you have NO reason to feel that way. Your pictures showed you in slightly revealing clothes and provocative poses. Hair done perfectly. Eyes looking seductive. He now fully understands. Your sexieness was definitely one of your selling points. He never really saw you in that way (lies). Of course, he’s seen you on billboards and ads and even the occasional kissing scene from a TV show or movie in passing. But this was different. He caught himself before letting his mind wander any further. Finally, setting his phone down, starting to get some sleep. Just closing his eyes and turning his mind off……. SLAM!
Soobin’s head popped off the pillow, startled. He waited for more sounds and then after a minute or two, he heard footsteps and the door to Yeonjun’s room slam shut. Which was odd since he was supposed to be with you tonight. Soobin was used to Yeonjun coming home late on nights he was out with you. He wouldn’t be able to spend the night in fear of being seen leaving in the morning so he’ll sleep for a certain amount of time, wake himself up, and then come in and finish the rest of his sleep at the dorms. Only difference is he always comes in quietly. For him to walk in and slam the door that way must mean something happened. Not tonight, Soobin thinks. I’ll check in on him in the morning. He probably had to cool down, anyway.

pairing: bf! txt x gn! reader
word count: 396
genre/warnings: fluff, none
—note: i forgot to finish this like a month ago😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖤐 ྀ
yeonjun
the really close one
idk how to put it
youre always with each other but never in a bad way
sometimes couples make you feel uncomfortable cuz theyre all up on each other and make u feel left out and weird
but even tho you two are together it’s not like that
no one ever feels awkward around the two or you bc you know when to and not to act “coupley (???)
soobin
the lowkey couple
the only ppl that know youre dating are close friends
youre not really hiding it, but it just seems like the it would be more private
minimal pda
occasionally, there’ll be hand holding in public
or he’ll kiss ur cheek once in a while
and when ur in private !
kisses and hugs and anything u else want from each other😩🤘
beomgyu
the dramatic couple
beomgyu is ….. dramatic in the best way of course
so u need to match this mf’s energy
you are almost always the ‘normal’ one out of the two of you
but you still match his vibes perfectly
if you’re in public and hes being strange, you’ll either join him or have to explain that thats normal for him
he also seems like the type to rub the fact that hes in a relationship to his single friends
taehyun
the casual couple
everyone either knows ur dating or has no idea but it’s never a big deal
i think this relationship would kind of be like the one in the kdrama ‘our beloved summer’
neither of you initiate acts of affection but when one does, the other loves it
reading while ur head is on his lap & switching occasionally >>>>>>
always together, but can survive without each other
&& the two of you are very secure in the relationship
huening kai
the couple u didnt know were a couple
everyone genuinely thought u two were just best friends
the thought of u two being a couple never came to anyone’s mind
but you always were
i feel like you’d be holding hands and ppl would just🤨🤨🤨🤨😱😱😱
“when’d you start dating???”
mf we’ve BEEN dating ??
it’s okay tho, bc those the best kind of relationships

TXT Reaction: Crushing on 4th Gen It Girl
Request: hi!! may i request txt members having a crush on fem idol!reader? and they're like an ace or the so called '4th gen it girl'? how would they act around them or how would they appreciate the reader's talent as a colleague? ty and have a nice day!!:D
Soobin
Soft boy Soob is so obvious. He probably stands next to you when he’s MCing and the whole time he’s just looking at you like a deer in headlights. He is so intimidated. It’s bad enough that you’re a Girl He Likes but you’re also a Girl He Likes that also happens to be the It Girl. Terrifying. Lots of body language making himself smaller so you feel comfortable around him. Blushes a lot, stumbles over his words. He makes a tiktok to one of your songs because they’re so popular that a) nobody will second guess it and b) it’ll boost your support not that you need it. He will take selfies and conveniently have you in the background so people will point it out, thereby letting him recommend your music more freely on weverse. He’s only recommending your music because everyone kept talking about you… obviously. He doesn’t have a crush. And he’ll tell you that with his cheeks burning red.
The rest of the members under the cut!
Yeonjun
4th Gen It Boy crushing on 4th Gen It Girl? It was written in the stars as far as he’s concerned. It would be weird if he didn’t like you. It would also be weird if you didn’t like him. He feels pretty confident around you, but there’s a small part of him that wonders if he can measure up to you. He is notoriously hard on himself despite his outer confidence. He tries to get you to collab with him on things “for the cross-pollination of your audiences” but he just wants an excuse to be around you and have it captured. He’s the most likely to tell you he has a crush on you, but he will only do so if he feels like you feel the same way. He doesn’t want to make you feel weird around him. That’s his worst fear.
Beomgyu
Literally no one knows he has a crush on you except for his members. He didn’t even tell them, they just know him. He acts perfectly normal around you. If he’s standing on stage next to you for a show of some kind, he is cool as a cucumber at least on the outside. He claps for you when you win and congratulates you personally. He’ll sing one of your songs on vlive but only when everyone else is randomly singing songs too so it doesn’t seem obvious. He knows it’ll get clipped and posted on twitter where you will hopefully see it. He probably makes you fall for him because you’re surprised by how chill he is and find him endearing as a result. He will forever let you think that you liked him first if you get together.
Taehyun
Taehyun would make it obvious while trying not to make it obvious. Because you’re so popular, he feels like talking about you is pretty safe. Everyone else does, right? He would recommend your songs on vlive and praise your skills. He would post screenshots of him listening to your songs on weverse. He thinks he’s just aPpReCiAtInG aNoThEr ArTiSt as far as the fans are concerned, but they know better. People start speculating about you two online and so he eventually gets asked about the rumors in an interview. His Very Expressive Face does him no favors and even though he tries to adamantly shut down the rumors (because you two aren’t actually dating, he’s just smitten), the look on his face tells the whole story. Poor Taehyun Now he has to worry about accidentally confirming your nonexistent relationship.
Hueningkai
Gentleman Kai :( When he’s around you for work, he will go out of his way to open doors for you and help you find a safe path if it gets crowded. He’s always paying attention to you so he can anticipate anything you might need and provide it for you. He’s just as successful as you are but treats you like you hung the moon in the sky. Similar to Gyu, he comes across pretty coolly. He’s not awkward around you, but he’s much more enthusiastic when talking to you than Gyu. Lots of big smiles and eye contact so you know he’s paying attention. He’ll post selfies from shows you were both at and write a long caption, making sure to mention that he saw you there with cute emojis and a request for moa to support you and your music. He’s not particularly worried about whether or not you know he has a crush on you. He just wants you to feel appreciated because you are.

Nerves of Sneeze
Soobin is nervous before a concert
The members of TXT were in the US beginning the overseas leg of their first ever world tour. The concert was going to start in about an hour and everyone was at least a little nervous. It was obvious in the way that Kai was pacing around the dressing room, or how Taehyun had procured a deck of cards from somewhere and wouldn’t stop shuffling it. Yeonjun was sitting on his hands to refrain from biting his nails, and Beomgyu was going between tapping his hands on his legs and bouncing his legs. Soobin was the only one who didn’t outwardly appear nervous, but that was far from the truth.
Soobin was actually quite nervous and really wished that it would present similarly to the other members. However his  body was weird and whenever his nerves got beyond a certain point, it rebelled in an interesting way. He’s not entirely sure when he first realized this was how his body responded to stress, but he never heard of anyone else having this strange affliction, so he assumed he was just really weird.
“HEH-STSCHHH, HIH-STSIESHHH!!!” Soobin inadvertently startled the others out of their anxious activities and did his best to apologize before sneezing two more times. He was then met with Beomgyu giving him some tissues and Yeonjun placing his hand on his forehead. Yeonjun frowned a little when he removed his hand, as he didn’t feel any heat that shouldn’t be there.
“Relax hyu-hyung. I’m n-not si-sih-STCSHHHH, HEH-STSCHHHHH!!” Of course the continued sneezing did not make Soobin’s declaration of not being sick believable.
“Maybe it’s allergies. There are different pollens here than back home. So it is possible for Soobin hyung to be affected without it affecting Beomgyu hyung” Taehyun offered.
“Except for the fact that if it were allergies, hyung would have been sneezing all day and not starting right now. Hyung is probably coming down with a cold.” The maknae countered. The leader rolled his eyes before once again sneezing and blowing his nose.
Soobin groaned at his members’ over protectiveness. If only he had just been upfront from the beginning when the group was formed. His nerves had never been this bad before. Normally it would just cause one or two sneezes before a music stage or one of his MC gigs. He had told his members that he gets pretty bad rhinitis and since Beomgyu was the same way, they never got concerned. This was the first time that his nerves were causing him to sneeze more than twice.
Soobin had a couple of different choices. He could play into his members’ belief that he’s sick and make a miraculous recovery during the concert as adrenaline overpowers his nerves. But it’ll likely happen again tomorrow before their next concert. He could also tell the truth to his members and tell them that he’s just nervous. They probably wouldn’t believe him, but Taehyun did unknowingly jokingly tease him about it during their Good Boy Gone Bad showcase, so maybe there would be some level of belief. Ultimately, Soobin didn’t want to face the potential ridicule he might get from the others.
“Guys, I promise you that I’m totally fine to perform. It’s probably just a random sneezing fit that peo-people get so-sometimes. HEH-STSCHHH, HIH-STIESHHH!!” The others didn’t look like they believed him fully, but they didn’t push any further, so Soobin called it a win.
The very beginning of the concert had been interesting to say the least. Soobin’s sneezing hadn’t let up any during the hour before the concert, and Yeonjun had considered telling management that the leader was sick and that they’d have to do the concert as four instead of five. Soobin insisted that he was perfectly fine to perform and that he’s stop sneezing before the third song.
Just as Soobin predicted, he sneezed a couple of times during the first song, but had completely stopped by the time the second song started. Soobin noticed the relief on his members’ faces that he had been telling the truth about being able to perform. During the first break where the group spoke to the fans, Taehyun decided to bring up the sneezing.
“Good evening MOA. Please excuse Soobin hyung’s sneezing from the first song. As I stated during our showcase, hyung sneezes when he gets nervous.” The other members laughed at the statement, including Soobin. He still wasn’t sure how to admit to them that that was exactly what happened, but for now he’d play along.
“That’s right MOA. I was so nervous before this concert started that I didn’t stop sneezing for an entire hour.” Soobin did his best to over-dramatize the statement, and the members played along. However the leader didn’t miss the look of concern that flashed across their eyes. The concert went on like that the entire night. One of the maknaes would make a joke about Soobin sneezing when nervous, and he’d play along and fake sneeze even though his nerves were completely out of his system.
Once the concert had ended and the group had arrived back at the hotel, Soobin decided that he needed to tell his members the truth. They had many more concerts in many more foreign countries and he knew that it was almost one hundred percent likely that the pre concert sneezing would keep happening. He sent a quick message in the group chat asking them to meet him in his shared room with Yeonjun.
“What’s up hyung?” Kai asked when the group entered. “I wanted to talk to you about what happened before the concert.” This was apparently the wrong way to start the conversation, because Yeonjun responded by placing his hand on Soobin’s forehead for the second time that day.
“Relax hyung, I’m not sick. It’s not allergies either, but I did want to let you know that the sneezing will probably happen again before most concerts.” As expected, Soobin was met with confused faces. Soobin sighed before continuing. “You know how Taehyun kept making jokes about how I sneeze when I’m nervous?” The others nodded at the question, but still didn’t seem to know the direction Soobin was going in.
“He wasn’t actually wrong. For some reason when my nerves get high enough, I start sneezing. The more nervous I am, The more I sneeze.” Beomgyu barked out a laugh and the others looked at Soobin in mild disbelief. Taehyun did seem to look a little bit satisfied in his previous statements on top of his disbelief. They all made some kind of non committal answer about how no one sneezes when they’re nervous, then they all went to bed.
Even though the members didn’t initially believe that Soobin has nervous sneezing, they certainly believed it as the tour continued. By the time the group was in their eleventh city, they no longer thought Soobin was joking. He had had a sneezing fit before every concert thus far. Eventually Taehyun apologized to Soobin for teasing him about it even though at the time he didn’t know it was a thing. Soobin accepted the apology but made sure to add that he wasn’t offended in the slightest. However it did become a running joke in the group and among fans that, unless otherwise stated, if Soobin sneezed, it was because of nerves.

meeting soulmate!taehyun for the first time
a/n: happy valentine’s day!! it’s so close to being last minute but i wanted to post something mushy and soft to celebrate... enjoy! :) thanks for reading~ (this is pretty long it’s about 1.7k i lowkey got carried away)
you were at a fansign
honestly you don’t know how you made it there, it was pure luck that you could actually get into it
looking around the venue, you saw just how many people were there
it was a hectic environment, buzzing with energy
the other fans around you were so excited, a hum of noise filling the air of the room
you were… pretty nervous
there was something about being here today that sat in your stomach heavily
you tried not to think about how nervous you were feeling, and clasped your hands together to help stop their shaking
there was a particular someone you were especially nervous to meet
you weren’t sure what it was, but there was something about kang taehyun that drew you in
you laughed at yourself, thinking about the strange draw on your attention he seemed to have from how far away from you he was
and it was funny timing, because as soon as your mind began wandering from the topic the girl in front of you started shrieking
from her conversation with her friend, you heard the word “soulmate” repeat itself a few times, and she bounced up and down in excitement
hearing that made something funny stir up in your stomach
soulmate? there was no way
you almost wanted to laugh at her
meeting your soulmate was a huge deal, one of the biggest moments you have in your lifetime, if not the biggest
meeting them here would just be…
impossible? you thought, the word not quite sounding right
anyway, it was a silly notion, not something worth thinking about
you smiled nevertheless at the prospect, and then began to feel the excitement once again of being able to be there in that moment
you were really going to meet txt???
the line was gradually moving forward, you along with it, and the nerves jumped around inside of your stomach with each step closer to the table where the members sat, signing albums and talking to the fans
as the line got shorter, a weird pressure began building in your chest
you brushed it off as nerves, trying to take deep breaths to calm yourself, but it only seemed to grow stronger
you were very close now, able to hear the voices of the members making conversation with the people in front of you
and then it was your turn
soobin was at your end of the table
he smiled at you, eyes warm with kindness
he was the sweetest boy ever
you smiled back, still trying to ignore this weird feeling in your chest
he took your album, quickly flipping through the pages with his big hands
he glanced up as he wrote, asking for your name
and you tried your best to keep up the conversation, but your mind felt awfully distracted
you had a strong urge to look just past soobin
the action was second nature
and just as you glanced over, your eyes met none other than taehyun’s
he seemed distracted too, still talking to the fan with himself as he caught your glance
he had this weird expression on his face
you tore your gaze away and back in front of you when soobin raised his hands, offering them for hi-fives
awkwardly, you smiled, laughed, and met his hands with yours
they really were soft
and you felt bad for a moment, hoping he wasn’t disappointed with how distracted you were acting
you had spent a good amount of time in front of him, but most of it was a blur in your memory
he said goodbye, and it was time to move on
when you took a step past soobin, the aching feeling twitched inside of you with the impact of your foot to the ground
and when you glanced up, you saw a hint of a wince on taehyun’s face
he sat in front of you now, and he kept going between meeting your gaze head on and ducking his head to look at his fingers
his fingers, which were holding the marker in his hands so tightly that his knuckles were white
and neither of you said a word
you opened your mouth to say something, but found you had nothing to say
so you bit your lip instead, and slid your album across the table towards him
and he took it gingerly, hesitantly opening it
you thought you heard him take a deep breath in and out
it was weird, it wasn’t visible, but it was like you could feel a physical link reaching from you to him, perfectly straight
at first he looked annoyed, but as you watched him for a few more moments you realized his hands had adopted a slight tremor which was quite similar to yours
he looked really nervous
and when he was done writing, he finally raised his eyes
you locked eyes with him, and after a beat, you took your chances at smiling gently
he offered a small smile in return, breathing out a laugh
“uh, what’s your name?” he said nicely, and after that utterance, a content feeling rushed through your veins
you eased up a bit, and when you replied, you saw the way his shoulders dropped slightly, eyes widening fractionally
he slid the album back to you, and after hesitating for a moment, feeling the awkward silence, he raised his hands up leaning his elbows on the table
it shocked you a bit, and you quickly glanced back at soobin to see if they were touching hands already
it hadn’t been that long already, had it?
and sure enough, soobin was still looking down at the fan’s album, just beginning to sign it
so you raised your hands to taehyun’s, not sure of what else to do
the second your fingers touched, an electric pulse like lightning went down your arm
you flinched, quickly pulling your arm away like you’d been burnt, and you took notice to the way taehyun had jumped slightly in his seat, glancing between his hand and you with a bewildered expression on his face
you rubbed your hand from the shock, and watched as he slowly brought his hand back to where it had been
you didn’t exchange words, staring at each other as if you were the only people in the enormous room
cautiously, you brought your hands back to his
when they touched it was a different feeling from the first, one that went straight to your heart and sank in
it was like feeling whole, like coming home
taehyun closed his eyes, and then he was intertwining his fingers with yours
you held his hands, grip tightening
the hum of noise dissolved into the background, almost ceasing to exist
when he opened his eyes again, and you met them, you knew without a fraction of doubt that he was your other half
he was your soulmate, and the two of you were fated to be together
“it’s you…” he whispered almost inaudibly, holding your hand tighter
you let yourself smile, happiness threatening to split your face open
he followed suit, as if your emotions were linked perfectly
you could feel the curious glances coming from beside you, not only from other fans but from the other members as well
it must have been an unusual sight, the two of you looking at each other as if you had known each other for years
“taehyun,” you barely muttered, and you saw the way his eyes immediately flickered back to yours, sparkling
“say it again,” he said softly
you stared at him for a moment
“my name. will you say it again?” he asked, voice as sweet and gentle as flower petals
“taehyun,” you said, smiling gently
he smiled harder, dimple poking in his cheek
and his thumb began to gently caress your hand
“i’ve been waiting for you…” was all you could say, and it was true, you had waited for so long to meet your soulmate
you’d spent countless days daydreaming about who they would be, how you would meet them, what life could be like once it happened
you felt the beginnings of tears forming in your eyes, overwhelmed with emotion
“me too,” you heard him whisper, eyes swimming with a sadness that perfectly mirrored yours
“see me after,” he said quickly, catching on that the event still had to continue and you couldn’t stay forever
soobin had started giving the two of you nervous glances, trying his best to keep the fan in front of him perfectly entertained
“but how-” you started, a panicked feeling beginning to blossom in you at the idea of having to leave him, not being able to touch him anymore, or even be near him
“i’ll tell the staff,” he murmured, and then his gaze dropped to your linked hands
he met your eyes one last time, pausing there for a moment, and slowly pulled his hands from yours
no doubt, the rest of the fansign for taehyun would be a distracted mess, it would be a true test of his patience
he watched you with sorrow in his eyes as you walked away from him, every step leaving a heavy weight in both of you
but you both knew you’d be able to get through it, because you would be reunited
and that was enough to wait any amount of time for
you continued down the line of members, laughing a bit as you did so because you knew you would probably be seeing a lot more of them
you did your best to avoid meeting the glances that you knew taehyun was throwing you whenever he got the chance
you didn’t want to become caught in his eyes and freeze up again when you were trying to act normally
the rest of the members were incredibly sweet to you
yeonjun tried and failed to mask the smirk on his face and pretended as if he didn’t know exactly what had just happened
he had been sitting on the other side of taehyun and probably heard a lot of the conversation
“it’s really nice to meet you,” he said lowly to you in a sincere tone
and his smile was radiant and warm, eyes shining
when you finished down the line, one of the staff approached you and lead you to a place where you could wait until the event was over
you walked anxiously, feeling the connection to taehyun who was still back there, the way your body wanted to go
but you followed the staff nevertheless, and waited for the moment you could be with your soulmate once again

You See Love Is A Game (And I Still Want to Play) | C.YJ
Tumblr media
➳ pairing: campus player!yeonjun x female reader
➳ genre: college!au, angst, suggestive fluff
➳ word count: ~5.2k
➳ warnings: some suggestive moments, language, super brief mention of death, set in a nursing home, ambiguous/open ending, bi!yeonjun (not a warning but it’s there lol)
➳ summary: A workplace romance is a cliche.  But if it’s not a romance, that should be perfectly fine, too.  It sure seems to be fine with Yeonjun.  So why isn’t it fine with you?
A/N: Y’all this took me forever! I’m kind of happy with the way this turned out though. As always, feedback is encouraged! Requests and prompts are also always encouraged so don’t be shy. Also there is a high possibility of a part two for this, so if you’re interested feel free to let me know.  The title is from “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love” by KYLE.
Part Two
Tumblr media
Choi Yeonjun was nothing but leather jackets, perfectly styled hair, and sleazy smirks. His look fit his character to a tee. He was a loud, obnoxious player who could have anyone on their knees for him with just a smirk and his signature wink.
You hated it.
Sure, college is the time to explore yourself and your sexuality, and you were never one to judge. But to see someone taking so much pride in being known as nothing but a player was a tad bit...unsettling to you. As a psychology major, you always wondered what was going on inside Yeonjun’s head that made him so okay with his reputation. However, you never got close enough to pick his brain.
Keeping your distance from Yeonjun was something you decided in your first semester. You had been walking down the hallway of your dorm (the one he unfortunately lived in as well), ready to set out for the day when you were met with a shocking sight. Yeonjun had been walking out of the bathroom, freshly showered. His towel was knotted low on his waist, exposing his toned torso that was littered with drops of water.
The minute he noticed you staring, Yeonjun pulled out the classic smirk and wink before walking away. To say you were left with flushed cheeks for the rest of the day was an understatement.
You couldn’t deny that the boy was attractive. There was something so enticing about his cocky demeanor and careless walk that drew you in. His plush lips were always drawn up into that greasy smirk that highlighted his high cheekbones and strong jaw. His hair was always perfect, even when it was messy, and he was always dressed to the nine.
In short, Choi Yeonjun was infuriatingly attractive.
And as you found out, fury, disgust, and attraction proved to be a dangerous mix. It had your stomach in knots every time you so much as caught sight of the boy.  If anyone were to ask you, it was out of a weird distaste for him, but you knew better.
Which is why you find yourself currently in the library, trying extremely hard to focus on your 19th century literature homework as Yeonjun sits at a table a few paces away.  He’s flirting with the innocent boy who sits at the table with him.  You can easily tell by the way Yeonjun’s smirk is sitting on his face and the fact that the other boy’s cheeks are dusted with pink that he’s doing well.
You internally roll your eyes, averting your gaze back to Frankenstein in order to not be caught staring.  Leave it to Choi Yeonjun to turn a place of learning into an opportunity to score.  In all honesty, it shouldn’t bother you as much as it does.  But you can’t help the way your mind runs an internal rant about Yeonjun’s antics, when in reality it has nothing to do with you.
As you grow more tired, it becomes harder to focus on your homework, leaving you distracted.  Yeonjun still sits with the seemingly innocent boy, apparently still laying on the charm thick if their hushed giggles are anything to go by.  Part of you can’t help but be jealous of the boy.  It must be nice to have all of Yeonjun’s attention, even if only for a fleeting moment.
You’re too busy pondering that thought to notice that you’ve been staring.  Suddenly, Yeonjun’s eyes meet yours from across the room, and you know you’ve been caught.  You’re quick to avert your gaze then, cheeks heating at the thought of Yeonjun knowing that you were staring at him.
God forbid he knows why.  You would never hear the end of it.
Shaking your head, you force yourself to focus back on Frankenstein.  You’re nearing the end of your assigned pages when you feel a set of eyes on you.  The gaze is piercing, demanding your immediate attention, but you don’t give in, letting your eyes process the words on each page instead.
It’s only minutes later when the chair across from you shifts, and you look up to see it being claimed by none other than Choi Yeonjun.  You only spare him a brief glance before burying your nose into your book.  You hope he doesn’t notice the way your cheeks have heated up just from his mere presence.
“You know,” Yeonjun whispers, mindful of your location.  “It’s not polite to stare.”
“I wasn’t staring,” you respond, not once looking up from your book.
Yeonjun chuckles under his breath, and when you look up to meet his eyes, he’s looking at you in sheer amusement.  His lips are quirked up, but not quite in his normal cocky smirk.  He seems friendly, almost.
“What’s your name?”
“Y/N,” you respond hesitantly.
“Well, Y/N,” Yeonjun says as he begins to stand from the table.  “Next time you want my attention, just say so.  The staring thing is kind of creepy.”
The tall boy pushes in his chair, surprisingly respectful despite his demeanor.  He spares you a wink paired with his signature smirk before he walks away, leaving you with unfinished reading and a flame of annoyance flickering in your stomach.
.        .        .
One of the pains of being a psychology major is the need for you to participate in field research.  It takes up a huge amount of time, and requires more writing than you initially thought, but at least you get to decide what and where you want to research.
Very honestly, studying geriatric psychology in a nursing home isn’t exactly your first choice for research.  But when your professor mentions that they are in dire need of research help, you can’t find it in your heart to say no.
When it is finally the first day of your research, you can’t help but feel a little nervous.  You know the procedure, and you have all of your interview questions written down, but you still can’t help the jitters that accompany doing anything for the first time.  It doesn’t help that you have to go in alone, your supervisor choosing to stay in the lab while you do the field work.
Your knee bounces the entire bus ride to the nursing home, making the fabric of your dress jump around your legs.  The short pumps you’ve stuffed your feet into begin to hurt the minute you walk into the nursing home, and you can already tell it’s going to be a long day.
Lucky for you, the home is warm and inviting.  The walls are a warm cream color, decorated with the occasional piece of artwork.  It’s surprisingly busy, filled with staff, visitors, and residents, all chatting away or busying themselves with a board game.
You make your way to the front desk slowly, still taking in your surroundings.  When you arrive, you’re greeted by a dimpled boy sitting behind the desk, giving you a soft smile as he welcomes you to the home.
“How can I help you?”
You swallow down your nerves, suddenly made worse by the boy in front of you.  He’s cute...like really cute.  “Um, I’m Y/N.  I’m here for research.  I work with Dr. Seo.”
The boy behind the desk lights up, dimples growing deeper as he smiles fully.  “Oh!  It’s so nice to meet you.  Dr. Seo told us he’d send someone in, but didn’t mention who.  I’m Soobin, by the way.”
Soobin extends a hand and you shake it, smiling softly at the boy’s bubbly demeanor.  He’s quick to stand, grabbing a folder full of papers from the desk before coming around to meet you on the other side.  He motions for you to follow him.
“Normally researchers don’t actually do much on the first day.  They just kind of come in and survey the place and take notes.”  Soobin leads you down a long hallway, smiling and greeting the residents as you pass them.  By the way everyone lights up at his presence, you can tell he’s well liked.  “Last year, I was the one who kind of showed everyone around, but now they have me working the front desk so I really can’t anymore.”
The boy stops in front of an open room, which appears to be some kind of break room. There’s a fridge in the corner, plastered with pictures and colored magnets. The rest of the space is filled with a few tables, one of which is occupied by what seems to be a group of volunteers.
“Hey guys, this is Y/N. She works with Dr. Seo,” Soobin announces, grabbing the attention of those around the table.
The last person’s eyes you expect to meet are Yeonjun’s. Yet here he is, staring back at you in his mint green scrubs as he munches on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He looks sincere for a moment until something within him clicks, when the corner of his lips quirk up into a smirk. You feel your heart fall into the pit of your stomach.
Soobin doesn’t seem to notice the shift in atmosphere, and continues his announcement. “I have to go back to the front to help Hyunjin, but can one of you guys show Y/N around? She’ll need to know where things basically are and where to set up.”
Yeonjun’s standing up before Soobin even finishes his sentence. “I’ll do it,” he offers.
Soobin’s face pulls into a relieved smile, dimples popping out in gratitude. “Perfect,” the boy places a large hand on your shoulder. “You’re in good hands with Yeonjun. I’ll be at the desk if you need anything. It was nice meeting you.”
You nod at the tall boy, watching as he sets back off down the hallway from which you can. When you turn back to the break room, you notice that Yeonjun has already cleared his stuff away, leaving his friends with an exaggerated salute that has them all laughing. He brushes past you in the doorway, mumbling for you to follow him as you set out further into the nursing home.
“You just couldn’t get enough of me, huh?” Yeonjun throws a wink over his shoulder.
You roll your eyes. “You wish. I couldn’t give less of a shit about you working here.”
“Rule number one, sweetheart, is that you can’t curse around the residents. So watch that mouth of yours.”
Warmth rises to your cheeks at the use of the pet name. You can tell Yeonjun doesn’t mean anything by it, but it still leaves a fluttering in your stomach anyways.
The tall boy leads you up a flight of stairs, and it’s then when you notice how different he looks. All of his piercings are left void of jewelry. Instead of his hair slicked back with a hard gel, it’s left natural, soft and shaggy. He’s not wearing any bracelets or rings like he usually does, and you smile internally. You like the way this Yeonjun looks.
“We’ll start at the top and make our way down, okay?” The boy’s voice echoes in the stairwell, twisting the pitch as the sound reverberates.
You nod before realizing that he can’t see you from his position in front of you. “Sounds good.”
It’s evident that Yeonjun has been volunteering here for a while, exhibited by the ease through which he guides you around.  He turns swiftly around each corner, knowing exactly which hallways are dead ends and which bring you further into the facility.  The residents all greet him warmly as the two of you pass, and the older women seem especially fond of him.
Apparently no one is immune to Choi Yeonjun’s charm.
You’re amazed by the time the two of you return to the first floor.  The nursing home is huge, much bigger than what you expected when you first walked in.  Yeonjun leads you back down the same hallway through which you came earlier, past the front desk, and through a smaller hallway that leads away from the heart of the home.
When Yeonjun stops in front of a small room, he sighs.  He opens the door swiftly to reveal what looks like an office.  It’s equipped with a desk, some file cabinets, and an assortment of comfortable chairs and pillows.
“This is going to be your office while you work here.  Once upon a time, it was mine,” Yeonjun’s eyes meet yours, holding a surprising air of authority.  “Treat it right.”
You just chuckle awkwardly in response, not knowing how to respond.  And then it hits you.  This office was his at some point.  The revelation has your eyebrows furrowing.
“You were with a research team?”
Yeonjun nods curtly.  “I’m a developmental biology major.  What better place to study the last phases of life than in a nursing home?”
Your jaw drops in surprise.  “A developmental biology major? I would have never assumed that.”
Yeonjun chuckles bitterly.  “You don’t know me.  I think it’s a little inappropriate for you to be assuming anything.”
The air in the room is stale, emphasizing the discomfort that you feel after Yeonjun’s words.  He’s right, of course, that you don’t know anything about him other than the fact that he gets around a lot.  And he doesn’t even know that you know that.  You choose to just apologize softly, which has the smirk rising on his face.
“It’s okay, sweetheart,” Yeonjun looks a little too smug.  “Like I said, just treat this place with care.  You can make yourself at home here.  Whenever you’re ready to leave, just let Soobin know so he can sign you out.”
“Um, sure.  Thanks, by the way.”  Yeonjun cocks an eyebrow.  “For showing me around and stuff.  I’ll make sure to take care of your office.”
“Well it’s yours now, sweetheart.”
With another wink, Yeonjun is gone, leaving you once again with flushed cheeks and unfinished work.
.        .       .
The first week of trying to incorporate research into your already hectic schedule is a disaster.  You only have to go into the nursing home two more times, and yet they manage to be the most jam-packed days you have had in awhile.
Working in geriatrics also proves to be more difficult than you’ve expected.  Some residents are difficult and mouthy, while some are sweet but forget the question the minute it leaves your mouth.  The whole interviewing process is extremely stressful, made worse by the way you have to relive the moments afterwards when you transcribe the interviews.
Additionally, you can’t decide if seeing Yeonjun everyday in your place of work is a blessing or a curse.  You admit that he’s a sight for sore eyes after a long day, but he can also be extremely distracting with the flirtatious winks he sends you from down the hall.  It seems like every time he sees you, he makes it his mission to fluster you as much as possible.
Occasionally he engages you in normal conversation, and that seems to fluster you the most. It’s when you gossip about the residents or tell cheesy jokes that you find yourself red in the face, absolutely smitten. It’s overwhelming how much you have grown to enjoy his company.
By the second week, it all becomes routine.  It’s simple, really.  You come into the home, check in with Soobin or Hyunjin, the other cute boy working at the front desk, and they always greet you with a smile.  You use placing your snack in the break room fridge as an excuse to see Yeonjun, who always sends you a flirtatious wink in greeting.
Then you settle into your office, interviewing and transcribing for a few hours until your brain is melted.  After that you retrace your steps to gather your belongings and leave the nursing home.  It’s a pretty simple routine...until it’s not.
It’s the Thursday of the 5th week when Yeonjun comes barging into your office. You had been cramped in the small room all afternoon, and it was nearing 6pm. You weren’t anywhere near done with your work, but Yeonjun didn’t seem to care.
“Get your jacket,” the boy commands after his surprising entrance. “We’re going out.”
You can’t help but chuckle at the boy’s words, leaving him with a confused frown.
“There’s no way. I’m not even close to being done. So I have to stay here and work. Just go out by yourself.”
Yeonjun’s frown deepens, and you admit that it makes him look adorable. He stands before you with unstyled hair and a frown, clad in those mint green scrubs all of the volunteers have to wear. You internally smile at the fact that his name tag is upside down.
“You’ve been in here for over five hours. You deserve a break. We’re taking one now. Come on.”
Yeonjun’s stare is demanding, but with the subtle frown on his face, he seems to be pleading more than anything. After a few seconds of staring at the boy, you sigh, rolling your eyes.
“Fine. But only for a half hour. Then I have to get back to work.”
Yeonjun beams brightly at you, and you wonder how you’ve gotten to the point where Yeonjun smiles at you more than he smirks. You shrug off the thought and grab your jacket, following Yeonjun out.
The two of you opt for a quick stop at the local coffee shop rather than a full meal, knowing that what you need is just a pick me up. You settle into a booth towards the back of the cafe, seeming more interested in your drink than the boy in front of you.
Yeonjun chuckles when he notices the way you are downing your drink, taking a slow sip from his own. “You must have really needed that.”
When you look up, you notice how Yeonjun’s nose is scrunched up in amusement. He looks different like this, cuter, and you wonder what about the nursing home brings out such a cute side of him.
“Yeah, this research is kind of killing me,” you reply. “I don’t know how you did it.”
Yeonjun’s smile transitions to something softer. “I really loved it, so it never seemed like a big deal. I would rather be bombarded with patient interviews than have only a little bit of paperwork. Being face to face is so much more rewarding.”
You find yourself nodding in agreement, taking yet another sip of your drink. Although you had spoken to Yeonjun quite a bit since you’ve started your research project, you’ve never seen him so open. He’s normally all teasing quips and playful jabs and flirtatious compliments, but all of that seems to fall away as he looks at you with sincere eyes.
“What made you even want to work in the nursing home to begin with? Don’t most developmental bio majors work in embryology? Why didn’t you work at a fertility clinic or something?”
At this, Yeonjun’s smile falls. He looks down at his drink, stirring it softly as a way to fidget. He can’t seem to meet your eyes, even when he begins speaking.
“My grandmother was actually a resident at the home, like 3 or 4 years ago. She had really bad Alzheimer’s disease, and couldn’t live on her own, so I started visiting her when she was sick there.
“After she passed, I guess I couldn’t really stop myself from visiting over and over again, even though I knew she wouldn’t be there. So when one of my advisors told me a research position was open there last year, I jumped on it.”
You place your hand on top of his and give it a gentle squeeze. “I’m really sorry to hear that.”
Yeonjun nods sadly, finally looking up to meet your eyes. “It’s okay now. Volunteering at the home is something I really enjoy, so something good came out of it all.”
After a second or two, Yeonjun flips his hand over, interlocking his fingers with yours. You instantly flush, even though you try not to show how flustered the action makes you.
“Thanks for asking, honestly.” Yeonjun starts softly. “No one has really ever questioned it, so it feels nice to be able to talk about it.”
You nod, letting out a shaky breath when the boy squeezes your hand. He doesn’t let it go after, letting it rest softly in his. You realize that he’s giving you the chance to pull away, but something in the pit of your stomach tells you not to.
The two of you end up spending the rest of your break chatting idly, fingers intertwined on top of the table.
.        .       .
No matter how much you get used to seeing Yeonjun in the nursing home, seeing him on campus always throws you for a loop. Even now, as you stand in the obnoxious crowd of the frat party your friends have dragged you to, you’re surprised to see the familiar head of perfectly styled hair.
He’s standing by the staircase, nodding his head softly to the beat of whatever EDM song is blasting through the house.  His demeanor is the exact opposite from when he’s at the nursing home.  Instead of being soft and open, he’s closed and rigid, seemingly predatory as he scans the crowd.  You suspect it’s for his next hookup, and green briefly flashes behind your eyes.
He meets your eyes from across the room, sending a wink your way. You just roll your eyes, excusing yourself from your group of friends before walking over to him. Yeonjun looks surprised as you approach, taking a long sip of whatever concoction is housed in his red solo cup.  He leans against the adjacent wall before greeting you with a smirk.
“This is the last place I ever thought I would see you, sweetheart.”  His eyes glitter with delight.
You roll your eyes, sipping on the seltzer in your cup. “I could say the same thing to you. Aren’t you, like, too cool to be here or something?”
This makes Yeonjun laugh, his prominent cheekbones protruding as he smiles genuinely. “Of course I’m too cool. But I just decided to grace all of these poor souls on campus with my presence.”
You hum in amusement as Yeonjun takes a step further into your space. He glances down into your cup, raising an eyebrow at its contents.
“Vodka soda?” He questions.
You shake your head no.
“Gin and sprite?”
You shake your head once again.
“Tequila seltzer?”
His incessant guesses have you laughing, but you finally take pity on him. “It’s just seltzer, Yeonjun. I’m not drinking.”
Yeonjun scoffs, leaning further into your space as you two lean against the adjacent wall. “What’s the point of coming to a party just to be sober? Actually, never mind, I would assume nothing less from you, sweetheart.”
“Hey,” your jaw drops in mock offense. “Someone once reminded me that it’s a little inappropriate to be assuming anything when you don’t know someone.”
“I think I know you well enough.”
You cock an eyebrow challengingly. “Prove it.”
The smirk takes hold on Yeonjun’s face. He tilts his head slightly, making it easier to make eye contact. You’re struck by the intensity of his gaze, even in the fairly dim lighting of the party. He crowds further into your space, forcing you back onto the wall just a little bit. You’re ashamed at the way it ignites a flame in the pit of your stomach.
“Would it be inappropriate to assume that you want me just as bad as I want you?”
The question takes you by surprise, but the fire in your stomach only grows. If it weren’t for the intensity of his stare you would think he was joking, but something in his eyes tells you he’s dead serious.
“What makes you say that?” You don’t know where the sudden confidence comes from, but you take pride in your ability to flirt back.
Yeonjun chuckles. “Don’t think I forgot how you were looking at me in the library all those weeks ago. You were practically begging me to fuck you with your eyes. And honestly,” he shrugs. “I would have. I still would.”
You swallow thickly, brain momentarily short circuiting at the boy’s words. He still has yet to break eye contact, seemingly searching you for any sign to back off. Obviously, he doesn’t find one.
“Then what are you waiting for?”
Yeonjun’s smirk grows, dripping with a sense of pride and satisfaction. He’s quick to take you by the hand, leading you up the stairs to wherever the two of you were bound to spend the rest of your night. You mentally apologize to your freshman year self for breaking your promise to keep your distance from Yeonjun.  But really, you aren’t all that sorry.
.          .          .
You feel dirty.
No matter how much concealer you use to hide it, it makes you feel extremely dirty to come to work with hickies. It makes you feel even dirtier that the one who gave you said hickies volunteers there.
However, what makes you feel the dirtiest is the fact that when Yeonjun comes into your office and locks the door, you take the bait. You only have a 20 minute break in between your interviews, and you spend it fucking Choi Yeonjun...again.
No matter how dirty you feel, though, you can’t help but feel an underlying sense of giddiness. Being with Yeonjun just ignites something within you that has you thrumming with happiness for the rest of the day (not that you would ever tell him that).
The two of you had decided at the party that there was nothing wrong with a little fun as long as it was left at just having fun. And with that, the two of you just arose.
You don’t know where quickies in your office fall on the spectrum of “just having fun,” but you go with the flow anyways.
Yeonjun chuckles as he watches you slide your discarded panties up your legs, pulling down your pencil skirt as you fumble with the buttons on your blouse. He looks no better, the drawstrings on his scrubs untied, a blooming hickey forming underneath his collarbone. You both are a mess, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You’re straightening up your hair when Yeonjun moves to leave. He approaches the door slowly, seemingly wanting to draw out the moment between you two. Eventually he exits the office with a sleazy wink.
“See you around, sweetheart.”
And with that, he disappears. When the door clicks shut behind him, you swear to yourself that it won’t happen again.
Naturally, it does.  Time and time again, you find yourself with Choi Yeonjun embedded in you, and you can’t say you regret it.
Your connectedness bleeds into your work, as you often find yourself thinking of the boy during your interviews. The two of you share secret glances whenever you cross paths, accompanied by the occasional rendezvous in your office.
It bleeds into campus life, too. You find yourself leaving every party with Yeonjun’s arm wrapped around your waist, him whispering dirty promises in your ear as he leads you out.
Every single time you encounter Yeonjun it always leads to the same two things, sex and unfinished work.
He takes pride in it, too. Yeonjun loves the way he has you dropping everything for him the minute he says the right things. He loves how you always greet him with a sweet smile, one that’s dripping with sugar in a way that’s only meant to conceal something. He loves the way you moan for him, say his name, tell him that you’re close. Yeonjun loves.
He loves.
On month two of you two “having fun,” Yeonjun decides he’s had enough of loving. He’s loved before, sure, but this, this is love. And if he knew anything, he knew that “having fun” and love could not coexist.
He lets his eyes roam your naked figure as you lay sleeping in his dorm bed, the two of you squeezing onto it late last night and haven’t moved since. He wonders when sharing a bed became enveloped in “having fun” and he assumes it was around the same time when loving you was.
This is not the Yeonjun he knew himself to be. This is not the Yeonjun that tore through the boys and girls of campus just to chase a meaningless orgasm. This isn’t the Yeonjun who got cute boys to tutor him by pretending not to understand physics. This new Yeonjun feels.  He feels for you, and he hates himself for it.
Yeonjun can’t stop himself from smiling as you slowly start to blink awake. On instinct, his hand comes to your hair, stroking softly to further coax you into wakefulness. When you make sleepy eye contact with him, you smile softly. Yeonjun’s heart clenches.
“What are you staring at, creep?” You mumble into the shared pillow.
Yeonjun chuckles softly. “Just a loser.”
“That wasn’t what you were saying last night.”
And Yeonjun blushes. The Yeonjun that he knew himself to be never blushed. He was always the one making others blush. He used to make you blush. He wonders when the tables turned.
After waking up fully, you’re quick to leave the bed, searching the small dorm room for your clothes.  You get dressed without batting an eye, straightening out your appearance as much as possible.  Yeonjun just watches from his bed as you go through the motions, taking in the sight of you.
When all your stuff is gathered and you’ve deemed yourself appropriate, you head to the door.  Yeonjun wills himself to say something, anything.  But his voice is caught in his throat, and it’s not until you’re halfway out the door does he find his words.
“See you tomorrow.” Stay, please.
You just smile over your shoulder.  “Bye, Yeonjun.”  Ask me to stay.
You’ve made peace with the walk of shame since you find yourself doing it so often.  But there is always something that nags in the pit of your stomach as you walk down the corridors of the dorm.  You wonder if people can look at you and know, know that you’re just another one of Yeonjun’s conquests.
Somewhere along the line, you convince yourself that it’s fine if that’s what they think, because that’s what you are.  Choi Yeonjun doesn’t do feelings, not for you, at least.  He just takes and takes until he’s satisfied.  There will come a day where he’s satisfied, and you two will return to being nothing but coworkers.
You wonder if Yeonjun has taken anyone else recently.  You’re sure that he must have, but you can’t help but hope that he hasn’t.  You hope that you’re the only one, that you’ve been the only one, but that hope is futile.  You know that.  So why does it hurt so bad?
As you exit the dorm, the cold air of early December whipping past your face, you realize that you’ve been taken.  Choi Yeonjun took you, every piece of you, and you wonder why you let him.
You wish that you stuck to your freshman promise of keeping your distance.  But distance only makes the heart grow fonder.

“Can’t You See Me?”- THEORY
"BEOMGYU'S MANIPULATION" - Part 1
(a/n: I’m starting a TXT Theory series on each mv they made/will make bc WE STAN BIGHIT MENTALITY... I won’t do a BTS one cause TXT has like five mvs and my BRAIN IS LIQUID ALREADY what more if I DID A BTS ONE? I ONLY HAVE LIKE HALF A BRAIN CELL THAT BARELY WORKS... anyways, I made this theory for two hours straight sO PLS APPRECIATE MY WORK LMAO)
Tumblr media
(another a/n: I wrote time stamps so that you can watch the mv while reading this theory, too! Enjoy because I said so and I have to reform MY BRAIN/ i am also terribly sorry if I ramble some stuff there lmao ENGLISH IS NOT MY NATIVE LANGUAGE DFBHJD)
From 0:08 - 0:22 - We see flashbacks from the previous mv "Runaway". Yeonjun starts a fire in his notebook and Beomgyu already knew that there is a fire. The weird thing is that only Beomgyu knows that there is a "small" fire. Beomgyu could've thrown the notebook outside or do something "smaller" to prevent the fire from growing BUT NO, he really used this BIG EXTUINGUISHER to turn off the fire. Really weird because it looks like as if he knows something bigger would happen in a matter of SECONDS IN THE FUTURE???
After the flashbacks, the notebook also bursted into flames. Could this be because Beomgyu didn't success into stopping the fire, causing a bigger problem?
From 0:38 - 0:44 - Now, we see the four members (Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai) in front of Soobin's house. The five of them obviously will hang out eventually during the day.
0:44 - 0:51 - Then, we see Yeonjun bake some pastries for them to eat. No one in the group noticed that the fire in the oven started growing. Weird because Beomgyu noticed the fire quickly in the previous mv which is just a small one and they're also in a school (meaning there's a lot of people occupying space or something, y'know what I mean?) but he couldn't notice a bigger fire in Soobin's house where there were only five people in there? Sketchy.
0:51 - 0:56 - Hueningkai started taking pictures (juSt bFf tIngZ) and if we look closely, Taehyun is literally lost. He's not even looking at Hueningkai's camera. He seemed so lost and bothered. He probably doesn't know that Kai is taking pictures. He's literally just looking around as if he notices something strange.
0:56 - 1:01 - Yeonjun pokes Soobin's bubble made from hi bubblegum and Soobin looked pissed. It looks normal "jUST BFF TINGZ" from the start but as the scene goes by, Soobin and Taehyun's eyes WERE FIXED at the TV while he eats strawberries. Hueningkai, Yeonjun, and Beomgyu were literally messing around but the two of them were just STARING at the TV.
1:01 - 1:02 - (this just cute uWU)
1:03 - 1:06 - Then, we see Beomgyu staring at the camera (lmao visual king) and it's just creepy that the whole lighting in the house just TURNED SO RED AND BEOMGYU STAYED UNBOTHERED???
What's even more creepier is that the TV was just red. There was nothing there on the TV, so why would the four of them (Beomgyu excluded) still mess around like they were watching a show when they were in fact NOT?
1:31 - 1:35 - Beomgyu puts a bunch of strawberries in the blender and a lot of it spilled everywhere on Soobin's kitchen counter. When you see the actual scene, it actually looks like Beomgyu murdered someone but at the same time still seen as pure and innocent.
No suspect can be seen as pure and innocent... unless if that suspect is manipulative... (mom, help im scared)
1:39 - 1:48 - Basically, Beomgyu and the boys are playing around with the mess he made. Hueningkai wasn't playing around but he was just eating strawberries... just like how Taehyun did at 0:51 - 0:56. Soobin seemed pissed because his friends came over specifically to "play and hang out" with him and not leave him alone in the air IN HIS OWN HOUSE. In his boredom, he plays with this glass half full with some kind of pink juice.
It could've been made with those same strawberries the boys were so drawn onto.
1:48 - 1:53 - Soobin then 'purposely' dropped the glass of pink juice on the ground as it transitioned to Beomgyu and Yeonjun playing together in (probably) Soobin's bedroom. If you pay attention, the lighting is red again.
(THIS ONE IS HARD TO PAUSE LMAO HELP) 1:54 - Four of them looked down on Hueningkai (literally!) and Kai looked upset and down, too. What could've Kai done for the other boys to look down on him like he had done something bad?
Or is he being taunted by his own friends and he couldn't do anything about it because he's the youngest?
Or is he being in the middle of everything that's happening?
1:54 - 1:56 - The transitioning was like glitches at this part (my eYES HURT) as Hueningkai stays in his place while looking down on the floor. This scene shows that his "hyungs" either leave him or tower over him no matter what he feels.
Tower over him? I meant: hyungs = higher authority Maknae = no control whatsoever
1:56 - 1:57 - In this ONE SECOND SCENE, we can notice a lot of things. Beomgyu plays with Taehyun as he covered Taehyun with a blanket. Taehyun was smiling and laughing as his mood changes when the lighting turned red.
There IS something wrong with Beomgyu.
1:58 - 2:02 - Beomgyu continued dominating over Taehyun as the lighting switched from red to the normal "bright" one. Beomgyu looks at the camera, showing no emotion like he did on 1:03 - 1:06... like he wasn't doing something wrong to Taehyun.
For me, it seemed like when you put the "bright" lighting on the scene... it looked like Beomgyu and Taehyun were just play fighting.
But when it's red? It honestly looked like Beomgyu was trying to suffocate Taehyun in the sheets. (Read time stamp 1:31 - 1:35)
2:03 - 2:05 - Taehyun looks bothered again as he stares into the camera. If you pay attention to the other members, you'll notice something.
They are just chatting and eating together... not even asking about Taehyun.
Taehyun was bothered because of what happened between him and Beomgyu.
2:06 - 2:10 - Beomgyu throws in a tomato as it changes to both him and Soobin laughing during dinner. Yeonjun throws a tomato after Beomgyu as it transitions to Taehyun being bothered at the dinner table.
Yeonjun then draws a "smiley face" using ketchup. Does it mean that Yeonjun wants to be happy after... an incident?
2:10 - 2:13 - To distract Taehyun's boredom, Beomgyu flicks a strawberry(???) on him. Taehyun wasn't playful (my statement on 1:58 - 2:02 HAS A POSSIBILITY) and he's looking at Beomgyu like he was pissed despite them being messy earlier before dinner.
2:14 - 2:16 - We see Beomgyu laughing it away and the two other members were just unbothered. In the fast paced scene, we see Soobin just confused and bothered.
We also see Beomgyu looking sad as if he was sorry about what happened between him and Taehyun. We also see Beomgyu looking confused as if he was like "What could I have done wrong to you?" towards Taehyun.
2:16 - 2:21 - The five of them started playing and throwing food around again. Taehyun was weirdly "okay" in this scene. Maybe Beomgyu could've done something for Taehyun to forgive him.
Or he wanted to hide his anger from Beomgyu because Beomgyu was pictured as pure and innocent by the boys?
2:21 - 2:29 - Yeonjun picks up a tomato but it already bursted in his hand. It's impossible for a tomato to already burst when he wasn't even throwing them. Then, he stares at his hands and then back to the boys. He realizes that Soobin's house is on fire and all four of them blame it on Yeonjun.
If you pay attention to the surroundings, it really looked like a bunch of psychos murdered people because the tomato on the walls looked like splatters of blood somehow.
If you pay attention to the lighting, it changes again from bright to red.
If you pay attention to all three factors (the acting, the lighting, and the surroundings) metaphorically, it seemed like Yeonjun was the one blamed for murder.
But wasn't it Beomgyu who suffocated Taehyun in the first place?
(Note about time stamp: 2:10/ Who has a smiley face on their clothes? Beomgyu)
2:43 - 2:46 - Taehyun and Yeonjun threw tomatoes at the camera as it transitions to Beomgyu enjoying the tomatoes on the floor.
"Throwing tomatoes" at someone is like hating on them. If you watch children's series or even comedic adult series, you may have noticed that if they started "booing" on someone they hate... they throw tomatoes.
So, Taehyun and Yeonjun are throwing hate on who? Beomgyu.
Who suffocated Taehyun and blamed Yeonjun for the "fire" (still unknown if it's actual murder or a representation of something serious kdfglvnjkf)? Beomgyu.
What does Beomgyu do with the hate? Laugh and enjoy the hate he's receiving.
Honestly, it seemed like he was manipulative in this damn mv. He's not psychopath, he's a sociopath.
(A sociopath is a term used to describe someone who has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). People with ASPD can't understand others' feelings. They'll often break rules or make impulsive decisions without feeling guilty for the harm they cause.) - literally a google definition that describes Beomgyu's character in the mv perfectly.
2:48 - 2:49 - You'll think that it's a Soobin glamour shot but NOPE. If you looked behind Soobin, you see Taehyun, Beomgyu, and Yeonjun.
If you pay attention at how Beomgyu LITERALLY SAT and ATE, he seemed so child-like.
Again, he is PICTURED as soft and innocent in the other mvs but in this one? He seemed so manipulative (using his "innocent" image to control what his members felt about his actions.)
Taehyun wasn't even facing him, meaning that he's still mad about what he has done. Yeonjun runs upstairs... where the "Taehyun Suffocation Incident" happened (Soobin's bedroom).
Soobin, on the other hand, is in the middle of everything that was happening between the three. Soobin felt lonely despite Hueningkai's presence.
It was because Hueningkai was so lost in what's happening in this reality where his three hyungs hate each other and his one hyung struggling to fit in within the friend group. Basically, Hueningkai's character only knows what's going on with his self and not the others (kinda sounds harsh but fAcT about me is that I'm the youngest and it's kinda innate for the youngest in the family to be a bit bratty and self-concerned.)
2:49 - 2:51 - Taehyun throws a tomato around an unbothered Hueningkai who is still eating food despite of what's happening around him. If you take it literally, Taehyun's like "Join us!!!".
But if you take it that way (yknOW WHAT I MEAN), it's like Taehyun was trying to wake Hueningkai up in the reality where his hyung (Beomgyu) is a sociopath.
But Hueningkai was in that fantasy (representation: eating strawberries).
2:52 - 2:53 - Here we see Beomgyu and Hueningkai being happy while tomatoes are thrown everywhere in Soobin's house.
In this scene, it seemed like Beomgyu was convincing Hueningkai to believe his "pretentious acts of kindness".
Did Hueningkai believe him?
2:54 - 2:55 - We see Beomgyu looking like he regrets everything he has done. In another scene of Beomgyu, he was staring at his hands the same way Yeonjun did at 2:21 - 2:29
2:56 - 2:59 - We see Yeonjun throwing a tomato at Soobin as we also see glimpses of Beomgyu laughing, Taehyun shifting from laughing to being angry, and Soobin finally snapping out.
Clearly, Soobin was silent because no one asked (or cared) for him throughout the time in this mv. He was always in the middle of everything.
3:02 - 3:05 - After snapping out during "playtime", Yeonjun and Taehyun walked away. It looked like Soobin was blamed for ruining the fun.
The two members who walked away were Taehyun and Yeonjun, right? If you connect their characters to the actual TXT members, Taehyun is basically known as the matured member in TXT while Yeonjun is the eldest. Basically if you connect this in the storyline, the three matured members (hyung-like members if valid) were the ones having a fight.
The two members who were left staring at Soobin were Hueningkai and Beomgyu. Connect this?
Real!Hueningkai = maknae CYSM!Hueningkai = also maknae, pictured as the youngest
Real!Beomgyu = middle of the hyung line and maknae line CYSM!Beomgyu = rarely regrets not taking responsibility of what he has done to others; either manipulative or just being childish
Soobin looked down and looked like he felt like it was his fault for snapping out in front of them. It also resulted Hueningkai to see what was happening in the reality while Beomgyu just stares blankly.
In my HONEST OBSERVATION, Beomgyu doesn't know how to sympathize to what Soobin feels because he's a sociopath.
3:10 - 3:14 - We see Yeonjun wrapping himself in the blanket that Beomgyu used to suffocate Taehyun as it transitions to the members losing their minds.
But why does Yeonjun look fine in it (not fine FINE but yes he does look hella fine in it LMAO)? Is he trying to sympathize to what Taehyun felt during the "Suffocation Incident"?
The members losing their minds? Each of them needed help from each other, even Yeonjun who fully understands the situation.
3:33 - Yeonjun looks into the camera as the fire in the oven started growing.
To me, it looked like Yeonjun accepted the blame. The blame that he was the cause of the fire when in fact...
It was actually Beomgyu (Read time stamp: 0:44 - 0:51).
3:35 - 3:37 - We see a shot of Beomgyu and Hueningkai being bothered by the fight. We also see a shot of Yeonjun and Taehyun being bothered as they were victims of Beomgyu's manipulation.
Summary:
Beomgyu manipulated everyone by making them see the innocent, pure, and childish side of him while he takes over his victims slowly. Although, he has a side of conscience but it rarely ever showed up because his situation is too severe
Yeonjun was the only who fully understands Beomgyu's actual persona, a sociopath. Yeonjun also took the blame because he knows that deep down inside Beomgyu, there's a kind person who's lost in the real world while trying to find himself.
Hueningkai is just as lost as Beomgyu but the difference is that he depends on his hyungs more than himself, being self-centered.
Taehyun, on the other hand, thinks differently from Yeonjun. Taehyun's character is matured but if you consider the age gap between him and Yeonjun, there are still possibilities that he's still more immature than him. Taehyun most likey doesn't understand why Beomgyu is like this and is close-minded when he sees happy friend turn into something that dark.
Soobin is tired of being alone and having no one. It's even shown in the concept trailer that he wants to wake up from that nightmare he has... being alone, left out, and eaten up by the darkness around him. The darkness? Taehyun-Beomgyu-Yeonjun situation and guilt.
Lastly, do the strawberries represent something? Yes.
In this mv, eating strawberries represents them being blinded by Beomgyu's pure image. The red lighting also represents Beomgyu's thoughts and intentions (manipulating members and attacking them slowly).
IN CONCLUSION: The "Can't You See Me?" question applies to everyone of them. They all need serious help and the right attention. They all need to help each other, not turn their backs from one another.
The question: were the flashbacks from the Runaway MV set in the future or in the past?
