i already explained this in a previous post (idk how to link them so have fun scrolling) but i will give a brief explanation; the song is about internalized homophobia and it’s basically conan telling his younger self it’s okay, or at least that’s how i perceive it, so i see this as a mike wheeler song. it can be will too but will is more out of the closet than mike tbf.

Alley Rose:

this one is kind of more about yearning and wanting but not before the relationship, it’s after it. they’re also kind of nervous around each other (especially mike) in season 4. the line “i waited all year at your feet like maybe you’d love me” is so them because they both waited for the other to reach out when Will moved to Lenora.

for the bridge, will is so worried about his best friend hating him because he’s gay and in love with him. “i thought if you’d ever leave me that i’d be the reason why.” and will again for the last little bit of the bridge saying “i swore hands were made for fighting, i swore eyes were made to cry, but you’re the first person that i’ve seen whose proven that might be a lie.” it’s kind of self explanatory in a way because will grew up in an abusive household. and for “don’t leave me hanging alone again.” i feel it fits both of them but also mike, because mike told will he felt like he was losing him and he wanted to be best friends again in s4

i feel like this one says how will wants to tell mike how much mike hurt him, and how he really upset him. he probably wants himself to get over mike and thinks this will help him (but it’ll just make mike confess😏 [hopefully].

this one makes me think of Mike telling Will how he misses him and how he felt like he “lost you or something.” and how “it’s not hawkins without you.” in season 4. and he knows he’s been a douche a little asshat (you can tell i’m a little upset with this mike lmao) but he wants “to be friends again. I have a knack with old horror RPG games because they are fun to solve with, even if I do get a little scared at times when it gets intense. I also enjoy VNs, my favorite being horror ones than romance (especially those with mysteries).

Ok I read your post. Literally sat down with my cup of morning coffee first thing in the morning and read it start to finish. I was busy traveling which is why I'm just getting back to you now though, by ask because my followers probably aren't expecting a reblogged discussion of top/bottom dynamics on my otherwise sfw blog.

So let me know if I'm getting this right:

Like, Bakugo wanting to give something to Izuku he would never give anyone else (the vulnerability, I mean!!! not, y'know, access to his... god, just forget it). And their relationship has shifted so fundamentally since when they were kids, multiple times, and opening up (figuratively!!) in such a way to Izuku is just another way for him to shift from whatever toxic shit they had going on earlier to the mutual love and understanding and willingness to be vulnerable with each other they have now. I don't even know if that makes sense. The point is, I totally hc them as vers now.

Also Izuku taking charge. It really is such a huge part of his character, becoming stronger and a leader and more confident and it's so easy to set that aside and focus on his cute, bubbly side but my man's got both! Honestly it's why I tend to avoid fics in general, and fandom too (tho I'm weak and couldn't stay away from mha/bkdk tumblr). I'm always afraid that the versions of characters in my head will be fanonized. finished ofmd here's the usual me tearing it apart with my teeth <3

it was boring 🙄 fun set of characters but when the PREMISE is "idk they're all hanging around until something happens to them" what little plot is there starts to feel contrived. most of the character development was stretched out over so much time it became diluted. they didn't even have gore this is SUCH a demographic complaint but i was promised killing and violence

- mainly i think it had serious genre indecision and ended up in a flat space between marital drama and romcom, where it just reenacted domestic couple life for four hours in a pirate-themed room. this locked all the non-captain characters into the same style where very little was allowed to happen- see the vast amt of setup for jim's revenge quest until they just stop and leave and go back. the show averaged about 1.5 good jokes per 30 min episode and the rest was quips and moments that were giffable rather than substantial ykwim

- a LOT of what you'd think would be major plot and emotional beats were conducted off-screen (latter half of spanish jackie again. deciding 2 leave post-chauncey. etc) and they don't keep track of ship navigation which made any time that a person ended up in a place really confusing. are they near a shore or not? are they amidst islands? the ship and sea look the same so viewers cannot tell until they say sth. these both contributed to a sense of confusion as to what was happening at any given time, which made it more abrupt whenever plot re: the english appeared

- main reason I like izzy is that he's the Only character who legitimately knows what he wants. & he's consistent to it, he makes things happen to the point that the show had to use him to get an explicable plot for its second half... literally keeps resorting to aggressive measures and i do love that his response to stede evolves throughout the show. there were very few lasting consequences for anything in this season (e10 excepted) and throwing him off the ship was the closest we got to anyone important dying so what he did afterwards is sooo defensible in terms of "getting sth done" i <3 men who are not great

- i can't criticize the swordfighting because there fucking WASN'T ANY actually no I do want to complain abt the duel. it opens with stede getting hit in the face (really good. awesome. accurate) and the show references non-traditional fighting constantly (the teeth from ep1) and then it just stops having that be part of the fight? mans pinned to a wall and his not getting beaten to a pulp immediately raises some questions about izzy that run against the paragraph above. it wouldve been really easy to say his other hand got hit in the meantime or w/e or have his sword break immediately but they Had to fit in that exposition and just have izzy stand around doing nothing

- I'm giving every member of the crew a little kiss on the lips

- could not really be assed about stede :( he ends the season the same way he started out except he's in gay love and his crew like him. he IS a pathetic rich boy and the show seems to want viewers to deny that while making it a really concise descriptor of his character

- THAT SAID it was fun I had a pretty okay time watching. would not recommend it as a pirate show or anything interesting but if you want to see a lot of gay people they sure are in it

Yes, sort of. A tennis game! And a coffee sesh after, just like canon. They plan this to be just "let's just relax, this case has been really exhausting, take a one day break, L" but when Light got home, sayu asked "how's the date going?!" Light!! The thing is it was said over the phone. He gets more and more comfortable talking with L through calls, since every now and then L travel frok countries to countries. hmm tbh, i was never really into the discourse about line distribution and such, because i feel bangtan’s and bighit’s priority always was the song sounding the best instead of being fair, like we have more variety nowadays because all the vocalists improved as far as skills for lots of different types of songs go, but i still feel like some of their voices don’t fit every song, like jimin will always have very little lines in songs like baepsae for example, ykwim? and with kook.. like he is under a lot of pressure, realistically his voice fits all types of songs and i believe he is the most versatile, he is also the most stable, and has the most stamina, like jimin and the others, when they tour, his voice can just deteriorate when overused, and i feel like jk doesn’t have that problem as much, like yeah i wish tae got more room to shine, but other times i felt like jimin didn’t get to sing as much as he should’ve, we know that jin hasn’t either, it’s different from song to song i believe, like i always felt that jungkook was the best strongest singer out of them so i saw it as him taking more burden upon himself rather than stealing spotlight or being forced to center or something like that... and you also have to take into account that bias comes into play and when you look for the voice you want to hear, with 7 people, you might feel like he was being underused even when he wasn’t as much? like when i first listened to tear, i actually felt like there wasn’t enough of jimin? hsdjhds yeah, it can happen... i understand what you mean about jungkook having a lot of the lines and the others have to take from each other instead, but i don’t think it’s always the case either, depends on the songs (remember fire?) like idk, i would much rather have a great song that has very little jimin in it if it doesn’t fit his voice instead of having a lot of him and kind of messing with the sound in the end, that’s probably a controversial opinion in this fandom tho? i just from certain other groups... where they try to be fair and then it just sounds sometimes very disjointed and messy.. i prefer the way bighit does it, maybe it’s not always “fair” but it always sounds cohesive and i also feel like they always give everyone some way to shine in the end? like maybe not for all at the same time, but each era you had someone showcased very well.. like for wings hobi had so much room to shine, for face yourself it was jin.. i don’t know.. maybe i’m looking at it the wrong way but since i like bangtan for the music first this never bothered me
