Halloween Special 🎃

Sung Jin Woo

You brought the handheld mirror closer to your face as Jin-Ah finished the last of the of the light red paint on your face.

“Andddd… done! What do you think, Y/n?”

You admired the makeup Jin-Ah had painstakingly painted on for the celebration of Halloween. The white cracks… “glowing” effect… it was all perfect.

“Amazing as always, Jin-Ah.”

You stroked her hair as she beamed. Jin-Ah scampered off to go put on her costume, you felt grateful for the fact that she had put so much time and effort into your look and sent a quick Jin-Ho to treat her extra nicely.

Just as you sent the text off there was a knock on the door, startling you.

“Sarang? Are you ready yet?”

You looked down at your costume, ensuring that your dark cloak was in place. Once you confirmed it was, you made your way to open the door.

“Tada!”

You said cheerfully opening the door to Jin-Woo’s now confused face.

“What are you supposed to be, Y/n-ah?” He questioned, wrapping his arms around you to bring you closer.

You pouted jokingly, “Can’t you tell? I’m Tusk.”

At the sound of your voice, the wandering shadow who was one of the three designated bodyguard for the night looked at you.

“Oh, then what am I supposed to be?” Jin-Woo pointed to himself.

“Yourself.” You replied frankly. “Your costume is nothing more than your average day drip.”

The look of confusion return but he asked nothing about your vocabulary.

You gently took yourself out of Jin-Woo’s arms and round up pillow cases handing them out to Beru, Bellion, and Tusk, who was quite happy to see your costume.

“Alrighty, shall we head out then?”

“There’s nothing to celebrate Halloween though?” Jaehwan looked at you perplexed when you brought up the idea.

“C’mon you’re the new Castellan. Surely the cook is willing spare some sweet and the servants can spookify the place a bit.”

“They would even know what if would be for and it would take a lot of time explaining it to them.” He said and around began walking off into another direction, sensing a new challenger.

“But if we did, it would be worth it.” You said slightly jogging to keep up with his fast strides. “And it would make me happy.” You added which abruptly stopped him in his tracks.

“It would?”

Your eyes twinkled. “Yep, extremely.”

Jaehwan let out a drawn out sigh.

“Then I guess we coul-”

Before he could finish his sentence, you were already running in the opposite direction, shouting “Happy Halloween!” at everyone you passed by making them wonder what was wrong with the Castellan’s significant other.

Yohan Seo

Yohan felt the awkwardness in the room increase as your fixation on his mouth did too.

For the past half an hour you had been staring into his mouth, comparing his fangs to the ones you had bought at an extremely high price.

“Unbelievable. Unforgivable.” He heard you say as you backed out of his mouth.

“My heart, what is it?” Yohan worriedly questioned as he snapped his jaw shut.

“The universe is unfair so just bite me already and take my melancholy as a mortal away.” You said, grief taking over your features.

This really had him worried he quickly carried you over to the velvet lovesick in the corner of the room.

“Although I would be happy to under normal circumstances, are you alright, love? Are you hurt? Sick?”

You slumped back. “None of those but a fool. So much money… gone and wasted… for something that looks no more real than a kid’s toy.”

He inspected the fake fangs in your hand. Sure they weren’t incredibly detailed but they weren’t that bad either, but he figured that your constant exposure to real ones influenced your thoughts to this situation. Secondly, he wasn’t quite sure as to why money was a problem when he had made it clear many times what was his was yours.

Yohan would have reinstated this had he not practically see you soul leaving your depressed form.

He scrambled to pick you up. “Don’t be like that, dear. I’m sure Levi can do something to help.”

The light of life faintly returned to your eyes.

“Really?” Your tone was hopeful.

Yohan felt a weight remove itself from his still heart.

“Yes, I’ll have her fix up something better for our Halloween outing tonight.”

The light had fully bloomed into a firework.

“Thankyouthankyouthankyou.” You exclaimed burying yourself into his figure.

A light blush appeared on his features as he returned the affection.

“It’s no problem at all. Happy Halloween, my darling.”

“MIND IF I join you?” Hera asked as she stepped out into the huge balcony on the second floor of the rest house, where Erin had been admiring the view by herself.

Erin smiled at her, shaking her head. “Not at all, feel free to join,” she said.

“Is there a reason why you’re out here by yourself?”

The older girl shrugged. “Just felt like it.”

“Nothing to do with… you know who?”

Erin snorted, shaking her head. “You can say his name, it’s fine.”

“I just happened to notice that you and Mark hadn’t acknowledged each other today, yet you both arrived at the same time this morning before we left to go here,” Hera said. 

“It’s been like that with us since last year, so I guess I’m kind of used to it.” She let out a sigh, a sad smile on her lips. “But we don’t always ignore each other, you know? We live in the same house, so it’s impossible to just… not talk to each other, even for a bit, but most of the time… yeah,” she added.

“But prior to your official engagement, you two were okay?” Hera asked.

“Well—not really okay okay, but it wasn’t super awkward in our house back then,”  she replied. “We argued a lot, since we both didn’t really like our situation, and we were still young, so being mad that we didn’t have a choice was all we could do, but there were good moments. Moments where it was just the two of us.”

Hera noticed how Erin was smiling genuinely as she remembered how her and Mark were back then, her eyes glazed over as she imagined she was back there again. Then, she blinked, shaking her head lightly as she chuckled dryly. “After the engagement became official, that kind of… made things all too real for us, so… uh… well, you can see how we are now, so…” she only shrugged, looking at Hera. 

She smiled at Erin, bumping her shoulder to the older girl. “Sorry for asking.”

Erin chuckled. “It’s fine—but enough about me!” She perked, suddenly turning her whole body to face Hera, making the younger look at her with furrowed brows. “I heard you met Hyuck’s dad.”

“I—yeah. Accidentally, too.”

“How do you meet Yohan Lee accidentally?”

Hera was then reminded about the slightly awkward family dinner that she found herself in a week ago, making her shut her eyes and let out a groan.

She heard Erin laugh. “That bad?”

“It wasn’t bad,” Hera said, “it was just weird! I wasn’t really supposed to be there—no one was supposed to be home when we arrived there. Hyuck said they were on a business trip,” she explained.

“Okay, why were you going to their house, anyway?”

“We were supposed to watch a movie together—already had tickets, too—but he remembered he needed to get something from their house, so we went there, and his parents apparently cut their trip short, so, uh… yeah.” She shrugged, chuckling. “Both his parents were there, his mom insisted we stayed to eat dinner, and we never got to watch the movie.”

“And the dinner?”

“Really awkward,” Hera replied. “Don’t get me wrong, they were super nice to me, despite how intimidating they both were, but it just… felt like I was intruding?” She shook her head. “I don’t know. I don’t even know if his dad liked me.”

“I’m pretty sure he did.”

The pair turned their heads at the sound of Donghyuck’s voice, seeing him with his arms crossed while leaning on the frame of the entrance to the balcony. 

Erin smiled as she looked in between the two. “Ah, I should leave you two alone now,” she said.

“What?” Hera asked, “Why?”

“I want to go on a walk around by myself,” the older girl replied, shrugging. “I’ll be back before dinner time, just text me,” she then added before waving at Hera and walking towards where Donghyuck was standing. “You’re welcome,” she whispered before walking past him, leaving the two alone.

“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to join me here?” Hera asked, raising a brow at him.

Donghyuck smiled, letting out a small laugh before he walked towards her, falling to a stop in the spot beside her where Erin had been standing earlier. They were facing different directions, With him leaning his elbows on the railings and looking ahead at the view, while Hera had her back against it, but her eyes were focused on the boy beside her.

“You know, my dad asked about you during Christmas,” he suddenly said, surprising Hera.

“He did?”

“Mhm,” he hummed in response, “Surprised me too, honestly. Most of the time, despite any occasion, he’d only ask about my classes, or my plans in the future.”

“What did he say?”

“He wanted to know if we were dating.”

“Oh?” Her eyebrows shot up at his reply. “And what did you say?” she then asked, looking away and crossing her arms as if to show that she wasn’t that curious as to what he said to his father.

(She was very curious.)

“I didn’t really get to answer it.” Hera’s shoulders sagged at that, eliciting a chuckle from him. “He immediately went on to talk before I could—which is typical for him, I guess? Although, this time it wasn’t about med school, or my studies.”

He finally took his eyes off the view ahead of him, turning his head to look at her, instead. “It doesn’t matter much if I decide to be in a relationship with someone, I was old enough to manage my priorities—to know my responsibilities. That’s what he said to me.” He shook his head lightly. “You know, I never thought I’d see the day where my dad would be okay with me adding another… non-medical related… thing in my list of priorities, but here we are.”

Hera laughed at that, while he only smiled at her. “Well, he’s okay with it. Are you?”

He paused, humming as he looked up and rested his chin on his right hand, as if he was giving it a deep thought. “I don’t know. Am I?” 

She rolled her eyes, punching his arm playfully. “What did I say about answering questions with another question?”

“Oh—“ he narrowed his eyes at her— “you sounded like a teacher just now.”

“Shut up,” she muttered, rolling her eyes at him while he only laughed.

It was silent between them after that—a comfortable silence. Hera liked this—being comfortable enough with someone that she felt at ease just spending this moment of calmness with him, no words spoken.

Her eyes found his as she turned to him again.

Since when had they been this close?

She thought about how she had been looking at him for a considerable amount of time, enough for it to seem uncomfortable—but it wasn’t. Her eyes roamed his features, from his brown eyes that she almost found herself lost in, to his cheeks, then to his lips.

Her breath hitched as she looked back at his eyes, and had she been a second late, she would have missed how his own flicked down her lips quickly before meeting her gaze again. Noticing the closing distance between them, she closed her eyes and tried to turn away, but he was quick to pull her towards him, his hand resting on her cheek as if to tell her that this was okay.

“Hey, dinner’s—oh.”

Hera sprung away from Donghyuck at the sound of her best friend’s voice, while he remained in his spot, a flash of disappointment on his face before looking at the entrance of the balcony, where Jaemin was standing with his eyes wide.

“Dinner’s, uh, dinner’s ready,” Jaemin managed to say, pointing his thumb over his shoulder. “Chenle said we should all eat together,” he added.

“Right, uh, let’s go.” Hera nodded, making her way towards Jaemin and turning him around, pushing him out the balcony.

Donghyuck watched in amusement, a small smile on his lips before shaking his head and following after them. “Maybe next time,” he mumbled.

▲ How do you feel now that “The Devil Judge” has wrapped up? Please say something to the viewers who’ve given the show a lot of love.

I’m sad that I can no longer see the performances of these great actors every weekend. I was watching it in viewer mode. The show as first conceived as a 20-episode series, so I’m a bit regretful that I couldn’t discuss the story more carefully and see the actors' performances some more. Thank you very much to the viewers who supported and joined us.

▲ There were many characters who seemed to occupy reversed gender roles. Was there any special reason for that? When creating characters, I completely ignored gender. I don't know if gender has a big meaning except in certain contexts, such as the sexual violence that Jeong Sunah suffered from Seo Jeonghak. Cha Kyunghee was just an powerful person with a lot of ambition, and Yoon Soohyun was just a detective who wanted to protect her first love. Both are familiar characters that are often played by men in Korean dramas. Conversely, the role of Kim Gaon is often given to female characters. Characters locked in conventional gender roles are obvious and uninteresting, but I think the bias that all women should be subjective and men can be flat is also contrived. All humans are individual.

▲ While writing 'Devil Judge', was there a scene that you put a lot of effort or worried over? This was Soohyun’s death scene at the end of episode 13. Yohan has Isaac, and Gaon has Soohyun. They are the only people who gave them unconditional love and helped them hold onto their lives. The script initally had a scene where Isaac tried to take his own life, in the belief that his father wouldn’t abuse Yohan if he was gone. While thinking about how to express such unconditional almost religious (divine) love, I wrote a scene where a dying Soohyun, looked at Gaon's forehead wound and, "Are you okay? You’re bleeding." From this tragic death toward to the end of episode 15, when it is revealed that everything was Sunah’s cruel plan, the play runs towards catastrophe. Like a Greek tragedy, where the incomprehensible gods dictate a cruel fate. 

It's not a very prominent scene, but I also remember the scene at the start of episode 12 where K, who follows Yohan like a shadow, tells Gaon his innermost thoughts for the first time, saying that if Gaon stays with Yohan, he will eventually lose everything. Actually, I wrote this scene while thinking about the movie 'Let Me In'. When writing that scene, the image of Hakan, the middle-aged man who lives with Eli, a lonely vampire, and meets a tragic end, and Oskar, a boy who bears the same fate, comes to mind.

[This is the summary of the movie and oh wow, it seriously confirms that Gaon, K and Yohan were in a love triangle]

▲ I am curious about how to interpret the ending of 'Devil Judge'. Kang Yohan escaped from the Supreme Court through the escape route he prepared in advance and went to Switzerland with Elijah, and he boldly appeared at the Judicial Reform Hearing to see if Gaon was doing well. This wasn’t in Gaon’s imagination, but there are viewers who misunderstand that. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that Yohan is doing well with Elijah, and we will see him again soon with Gaon. The world doesn't change that easily

I mainly monitored overseas reactions, and it was interesting because there were a lot of reactions from people from different countries claiming that the show was talking about their own country, and I was once again afraid of what direction the world is going in now.

Uh... I have a super random theory about Seong Yohan's past (?)

So according to ep. 137, after the dog cult thing, Seong Yohan disappeared and his mom was sent to rehab.

A year later he joined the national boxing competition with Lee Jinsung as his opponent. He won. And after the match, he was seen to be with some guy. Was he Yohan's mentor?

He said something along the lines of "do you have any regrets?" Yohan answered "i have no regrets, neither do i have friends", implying that he has abandoned his childhood besties, Lee Jinsung and Kim Mijin.

Whoever that mysterious guy was, he must've known about Yohan's background. My theory is that the guy who was with Yohan was Park Jonggun. Crazy, right? But here's why i think so.

In the Kim Gimyung / Big Deal Arc, it was said that Seong Yohan escaped the dog cult and ran all the way from wherever that cult was to Gangseo-gu a.k.a Big Deal's turf. Yohan was found by Kwon Jitae (see ep. 306)

Jitae took him in only to see Yohan be rejected by Seo Songeun. He said Yohan couldn't join Big Deal due to their financial situation that prevented them from recruiting new members.

"If you want to make money so badly, just steal some shoes and sell them, man..." - Seo Songeun, 16 years old.

And Yohan be like: "Ok"

So he fought a bunch of dudes and stole their shoes.

Until Jonggun found him and took him under his wing (Ep. 211)

Jonggun offered him to take over Gangbuk-gu by forming a crew. "You can make a lotta money out of that," he said.

Seong Yohan accepted the offer, hence God Dog, right?

So how is this related to the boxing competition? Here's how.

Some conversation must've taken place off panel right after Jonggun found him, which i assume was a year after Yohan left Gangseo-gu (notice the change of Yohan's appearance in ep. 211, and compare it to when he was staying at Big Deal's in ep. 307).

I imagine the conversation went like this:

Yohan: "I accept your offer, but I have one last thing to do before I join your business."

Jonggun: "Sure buddy, whaddya want?"

Yohan: "I want to defeat my rival in the upcoming national boxing competition. I want to leave everything behind."

Jonggun: "Gotcha."

And then episode 138 happened. And this was Kim Mijin's POV:

As Yohan walked away, I couldn't catch him. Yohan once again disappeared without a trace before our eyes.

Damn you, ninja cutting onions!

And so, Yohan left his childhood best friends and formed God Dog. And also became buddies with Park Jonggun.

And then, at the end of episode 138, Park Jonggun said something along the lines of, "Seems like yesterday you trained yourself and won. Forget boxing, man. Let's make some serious money."

And Yohan was like, "Hell yeah, dude. I'm gonna take over your position for real."

BUT HEY, IT'S JUST A THEORY. A LOOKISM THEORY!

The Devil Judge - Episode 8 (so many questions)

This episode has left me emotionally scarred and with far too many questions.

So many.

Something that made my heart hurt is that Kang Yohan didn’t take Ga On directly back to the car, he took him to an open space where he could let out all his pent up emotions and get it done and over with because once they go back and once the game actually starts, there won’t be any time for emotions.

“A system has no chance against power, power can control a system however it likes”

Meaning that, even though the system is established to keep the power even, ultimately the system itself can be manipulated by those in power in their favor and that is what Kang Yohan has seen all his life.

This time when Yohan opens up about his past, the reason why I think he might be telling the truth, or at least what’s relevant, is because of the pure hatred he had in his eyes when he spoke,

Minister Cha, who is the reason why Elijah is confined to the wheelchair, says “I thought so much of my poor boy, who I’d never said a kind word to”

She worries for her son, which as a mother, obviously makes sense. But she didn’t think twice before crushing a little girl to make it out alive and never even bothers to check up on her to see if she survived.

The President says “We share an experience. We know very well how you feel. Why wouldn’t we? We were in the same boat. In the same fire”

True they were in the same fire but they don’t share the same experience. They made it out alive while Kang Yohan lost his brother and left his niece crippled.

“The rest of us must continue his legacy, the property he donated”

They didn’t come to the hospital to mourn his loss with him. They were there to assure him that they would put the money to good use. Because the fear that he would cancel the donations was already there and then a second later, they go on talking about the weather being lovely for a picnic.

None of them were affected while Kang Yohan grew his hatred for them right there.

Kim Ga On’s attentiveness was really something in this episode. Even when he was freaking out about the swapped con artist he still noticed the small details,

1. interaction between the guard and Kang Yohan.

2. During the chant thing they did even though the shot makes it look like he was looking at Ga On, Bambi knows he was staring at someone behind him.

Initially it raises suspicion towards Kang Yohan to say if he changed the guy so he could break Ga On to a point where he has to rely on Yohan.

“To achieve his goal, would he not use another man’s pain”

Even through him being reduced to the point of essentially losing his mind, Kim Ga On still is wary of Yohan at the first half.

Jung Sun Ah becomes more and more devious and crazier every episode. In the last episode she says “we have Mr. Seo” indicating to the viewers that they can rely on him to get them out of the situation but when in reality,

It just meant that his part in her plan had already come to an end.

The public sees that guy as a well wisher for their country. If he dies and takes the blame for it, of course the public will sway.

But it also shows how the rich will wag their tail to whichever side has more of an advantage towards them.

But then Kang Yohan knows about the Public too. When Ga On suggests that they should release a statement denying the video and the allegations, Yohan cuts it off right there.

“This country shows generosity in death”

They will be made out to be the bad guys in the eyes of the public and it’s just instant game over.

The president’s speech during this episode was so similar to the one he gave in the first episode except this time, he is favoring Sun Ah because Kang Yohan isn’t on their side anymore.

I saw a lot of people worried about Ga On saying “I’ll play along with Kang Yohan and find out more”

But there’s always two possibilities for this,

One being he will actually play along and dig for more information OR he only says it to her to keep her safe because knowingly or unknowingly, Ga On himself is in too deep in whatever plan Yohan has.

Jung Sun Ah showing up in Yohan’s office to flaunt her new position is also just a power play. It only to show him that she is in charge of the live show and that if needed, she is capable to putting the show on a leash.

Coming to Miss Oh Jin Joo

“I’m a judge in this country and a member of this live court show. If you’re going to do things like this hold the trial yourself”

Versus

“If you include me in the live court show, it would be my honor to just to be able to sit next to you”

What she started with and where she is now. Jin Joo and Ga On both started as naive associate judges but now they’ve both clearly grown into something more. The two of them are falling into two different notions of Justice.

But Kang Yohan sees too clearly through Oh Jin Joo’s change. He acknowledges her becoming ambitious as a judge and he most definitely knows where the change came from.

Little Ga On going “you are cutting off people right next to you” does he still not realize that Kang Yohan only has eyes on him?

Kang Yohan already succeeded in splitting up Minister Cha from her group of elites and even she is a little smarter than people give her credit for. She is on to Sun Ah and soon enough Yohan is going to have her where he exactly wants her.

Kang Yohan and Kim Ga On

Yohan is smart. He kept trying to give as little information to Ga On as he could because even though he broke Ga On, Bambi still didn’t choose a side.

Which brings me to the question that appeared in my head the most,

Why is Ga On so important to Yohan?

“Do you have to go this far?”t

“Whether we like it or not, I can’t let him stand behind my back”

“I need to have him on my side or to get rid of him”

Why is Ga On such a big risk factor to him? I understand that Ga On knows too much about Yohan and his plans now for Yohan to let him loose but why is it so important to him to have Bambi on his side?

Ga On saying “it’s my silly imagination” i really don’t think he’s talking about his “theory”. It felt more like a hint towards his broken trust on the law and justice.

Min Jung Ho saying “once a monster is unleashed, it doesn’t know when to stop”

Could it be foreshadowing? Because Ga On is clearly very close to losing it by the middle of the episode and he is still insisting on putting Ga On at a crossfire about betraying Yohan (though at this point I really don’t think it will end well for Ga On is he betrays Yohan)

Kang Yohan taking Ga On to meet his team essentially reveals that he did rig the cases in a certain way but the trials were genuine, which, to a person like Ga On, is more of a battle of morals.

Was it right to punish them by rigging it?

I think this is going to end with Oh Jin Joo and Jung Sun Ah vs. kang Yohan and Kim Ga On.

Kang Yohan and Jung Sun Ah are taking the two associate judges under their wing, both by emotional manipulation with two different intentions.

Sun Ah saying “someone needs to keep their eyes wide open” very similar to what Min Jung Ho said to Ga On in the very beginning.

Again,

WHY IS KIM GA ON SO IMPORTANT TO YOHAN?

“If I needed to, I would have done something even worse, whether it was switching him or something else. That is my method. It is not going to change in the future”

Felt more like a warning to Ga On for me. Once he’s on Yohan’s side there’s no getting out of it.

Lastly, Ga On talking with Min Jung Ho. This part was so interesting!

At first Ga On did everything his mentor asked him for and now he directly fires questions right back and he is finally blaming the authorities for not doing their jobs right.

Something that highlighted for me was Ga On saying “you should have done better” not “we”

He says it in past tense. He’s already given up on being faithful to the norms of justice.

Yohan knew that Ga On was going to meet Min Jung Ho, he picked him right away and!

Kim Ga On started with Min Jung Ho and this shot somehow made me think that they’re showing how,

he’s breaking away from Min Jung Ho,

to team up with Yohan.

Bambi chose his side.

But Ga On is not all about the revenge. Yet.

It felt like a deal between the two of them. Yohan helps him find out the truth about his parents and in return, Ga On stays with him.

There are still things that Ga On doesn’t know about Yohan but now that Yohan successfully broke him and took him under his wing, Ga On wouldn’t be able to leave even if he wanted to.

May be that’s why he is such a big risk factor. Ga On knows too much for Yohan to lose him now.

Every episode kills me more and more 😭

I'm afraid that at the end of this series Yo han won't come out alive. There are too many powerful people involved, lives are being taken (Seo "President" of the Foundation was the first), and it won't end there.I liked how the character of Ga on has developed. Even though he wants to stay right, act in accordance with the Law, the Law does not follow the path he imagined, and Judge Kang himself rubs it in his face every episode.

When Gaon went to work at the Court, he told the Professor that he would be Judas, watching over Judge Kang. But things are not going as he imagined. The System is not working as it should, and Judge Kang is doing exactly what must be done to make it work. At first it looked wrong in Gaon's eyes, but more and more he sees that Judge Kang's method is working, it has worked, he filed a plan, but this plan no longer fits and instead of him watching Judge Kang, he's learning from himself.

*IF Judge Kang happens to die at the end of the series, it is certain that Ga on will follow in his footsteps as the Nation's New "Hero". (Sorry, my opinion was long and it didn't fit at once. kkkkkkkkk, ps. i love your tumblr and you)

Anon why would you say that? Don't make us cry and suffer! Yohan won't die, I can't accept it! Hahaha nor Gaon or Elijah. Yohan knows he is putting himself in danger but he isn't unprepared. He has ways of keeping himself safe when he can (the scene with the president in episode 7 is a good example, he used the public to make it seem like they're on the same page and if Yohan were to die or vanish, the people would suspect the president first and revolt against him).

Yeah, Gaon's development is great. I was becoming a bit impatient I have to confess, I wanted him to believe Yohan and be on his team already, but everything is just the way it should be. Disclaimer: Vampires can't eat anything other than blood in normal circumstances, so I did this as general gifts.

YOHAN SEO

First and foremost, I have to clarify that he has never ever had someone gift him anyithing in his whole life.

Much less for Valentine's day. He has never had a formal relationship before.

Of course, this doesn't mean he doesn't know how it all works. He even got you your favourite flowers along with some other gifts.

He never expected anything back, though. In fact, it didn't even cross his mind that you would want to give him somethin as well.

In a way, he feels like you are doing him a favor by dating him, he doesn't feel worthy enough.

So when you cross the door with a huge smile and something you got exclusively for him, he's shocked.

It's something very special to him, it makes him feel like he finally has hapiness in his life, thanks to you.

He'll be so, so moved. Will probably hug you as tightly as ever before kissing you.

You are lucky, you know? The most dangerous man in the country is a fool for you.

I don't think he'd be one to express how he feels about you very often, mainly because of the fear of being rejected or vulnerable, but you know that those rare occassions when he verbally expresses what you are to him are incredibly important for him.

So when he says that he loves you, you can't help but jump at his arms again.

Another guy who doesn't recieve any sort of gifts very often.

Also, I actually feel like he'd specifically ask you not to give him anything.

Not because he doesn't want anything from you or anything like that, I just picture him as someone who loves to give, but isn't used to recieveing.

Of course, you weren't gonna listen to him.

The fact that you decided to give him a gift makes him feel so special.

It makes him feel like he has found a family aside from Daniel, and that means a lot to him.

The fact that you also took the time to choose something that you knew he wanted was very moving as well.

This is definitely a man who is known for being a great observer.

I'm sure he has the perfect gift for you not only for valentine's day, but for christmas and you birthday with months of anticipation.

If you mention that you liked something you saw while you guys were out, he'll come back the next day and buy it. The man won't risk the item selling out.

He also memorizes every single thing about you. Not in a creepy way, but he's great at remembering things, especially when it has to do with you. You are important to him.

This means the guy knows your top 10 favotite flowers, your clothing size, what kind of jewelry you like... Everything.

And because he know how much you mean to him and how important these dates are because they are chances for him to show you that he loves you, It surprises him whenever you remind him that he means just as much to you.

You taking the time to remember the things he likes seems incredibly surprising to him.

And don't take this the wrong way, but he knows that he's better with remembering and learning things than you are. He appreciates the extra effort enormously.

I don't think he's as affectionate in the conventional way, but expect him telling you how much he loves you and kissing you all night. Only for today, only for you.

LUCIAN

He sees Valentine's day as a way to show himself off with you.

The guy has a whole plan for the day.

He will cover the entire apartment with hundreds of flowers for when you wake up. You have no idea how the hell he did that without waking you up.

He has such a great taste, the man will personally choose a dress for you, becuse he's taking you out to a fancy restaurant tonight.

Much like Mamon, Lucian takes mental notes of things he notices you like when you go out. He sends his men to get them the moment you both get home.

He occassionaly gives you those things the moment he has them in his hands, but he'll keep the best ones for important dates.

Have you ever seen those scenes in movies where the guy romantically places a necklace he bought for the girl around her neck? That. That. That.

You might not believe me, but he wouldn't care at all if you didn't gift him anything. He firmly believes this day is for you more than for him.

Still, the man gets really excited with gifts. He's like a kid on Christmas morning.

Naturally, it means even more when the gift comes from you. He actually has a special section in his closet of things you have gifted him. Those are the ones he wears for special occassions.

In all honesty, Lucian, a powerfull vampire, sees you as a cute little tiny thing. So, whenever you do something nice for him, His reaction is summed up to an "Awwwee."

SAHAN

As I've said before, I do believe he has had formal relationships before, but never with someone he actually loves.

So, for the first time in his life, Valentine's day is an important date to him.

I feel like this guy lives in constant fear of disappointing you and, consequently, losing you.

He puts a lot of effort in today. Thankfully, he has a long list of things his ex's have yelled at him for not doing on Valentine's, so he knows what women expect.

And better than that, and contrary to the other girls, he has taken his time to get to know you way better that he knows himself.

He knows what you like.

He'll part from there.

When you come to him with a present for him, it takes him completely off-guard.

He doesn't know how to react to someone giving him something without expecting anything back.

You make it hard for him! How will he move on from you when you realize he isn't worth your time? He'll never love again! How dare you?!

Sahan doesn't have any problem with phyisical affection, so expect him to hug you so hard you'll feel like you can't breathe.

Idk I just think the fact that vincenzo apparently can't speak English is so funny, like imagine a stand-off between him and han seok, and han seok says smth dramatic or poignant in english and vincenzo just doesn't react at all, and han seok feels so insulted, meanwhile the only reason vincenzo didn't react was because he had no clue what was being said

Episode 2 dives into Yohan’s past and how he became the monster he is today. The episode also adds a surprising meeting at a charity function and a bomb explosion.

The Devil Judge episode 2; The Yellow Porsche

Dinner and family gossip

The episode begins as a continuation from the last scene of the pilot episode. The 3 judges gathered together and Judge Yohan invited his colleagues for a meal. Jinjoo seem unaware with the tension between Gaon and Yohan accepted the invitation. Gaon not saying anything, Yohan mentions that he didnt have to go but eventually accepted. Back in the office, Gaon asked Jinjoo is it ok for someone to yawn while crying. After that Jinjoo added new information, she said that Yohan is basically a rich guy an heir of their family and the dinner will be a gourmet. During dinner, they get to know Yohan personally moreso on Jinjoo though and Gaon keeps quiet. Yohan mentions during dinner that he hunts. Yohan mentions that he is similar to a animal with the way he eats. Gaon says that Yohan is a pampered prince since birth then a flash back of him at his home that says otherwise. Dont judge the book by it’s cover Gaon. His late father is a loan shark and father’s his father’s footsteps.

Since they’re talking about family, Yohan mentioned about Gaon’s family who was in neck-deep with debt. Gaon is pissed that Yohan has been looking at his records. Yohan added that Gaon’s father lost his money to a con artist which led to his father committing suicide. Yohan’s father was in a money lending business and tells Gaon that everytime his debtor killed themselves he goes to confess.

The Yellow Porsche

While Gaon was walking home on the opposite side of the road we see a man driver a yellow Porsche. He was driving quite fast and was about to meet someone. While the man was driving, he talking to someone on the phone discussing something about having something set. We see homeless people out on the street eating their meals beside a truck with the Social Responsibility Foundation signage. The man continues to drive and drives into them, blinking his lights and honking at them. Driving madly he has hit a homeless man and Gaon sees the incident across the street. The man steps out of his car and does a insincere apology to the homeless man.

The porsche guy shows up yet again and on the otherside a child at backseat with the mother driving. The 2 cars got into a accident and Gaon saw it. The porsche guy does the same thing like the first time and just leaves without taking care of the victim. Gaon mentioned that he’s seen the car before and the driver gets pissed with how he doesnt like it if people get in his way. Soohyun and Gaon tries to catch the culprit, we then see Yohan driving his luxury car trying to catch him as well. Yohan eventually stopped him and damaged his car. Yohan ended him by finding stash and giving out a public transportation card after. Soohyun is shocked to witness this scene of Judge Yohan acting like this in the flesh.

The yellow Porsche guy happens to be a CEO at a food company. He did taste testing with a dislike reaction. One of the staff said that they try their best to scout top head chefs despite the lawsuit threat. He’s been trying to get the exact recipe with spending his own money but couldnt copy despite having top chefs. He’s copying someone else’ recipe but the CEO/Chairman is never satisfied. The CEO is hiding pills on his desk and his reminded by the flashback scene of him and Yohan. Once the ceo guy leaves he meets Yohan again. Yohan reminds him about his public transportation card. Yohan compares him to a fresh bait.   

President and Ministry of Justice

Both important figures were discussing the results of the 1st trial and how its a joke to have 235 years worth of imprisonment. She asked if it was a plan conducted by the President. Ms Cha pointed out Yohan’s fake crying while calling out the victim’s names but President defended Yohan and tells her it was difficult to shed a fake tear or try to act. They both also talked about how the President is leading a country who’s currently in danger. President realized something about her comment stating that the loss of Chairman Joo is a big deal for her, also adds how she was able to put countless Chairman’s behind bars. So why would she get so upset about Joo? Hmm. The President is beginning to become curious about their relationship and jokes that he used to be an actor with wild imagination. He also stated if the trial orchestrated by her but the foundation wont approve. Ms Seo didnt seem unhappy. Ms Cha then meets up with Mr Seo afterwards with Ms Jung not allowing her to enter. Ms Cha made a rude comment and eventually made her enter. Ms Cha is mad and asked why Mr Seo teamed up with Yohan behind her back. Mr Jeo says that having the public’s back may not be so bad which came to Ms Cha’s conclusion, President Heo convinced Yohan on his own. Ms Cha wont just watch as people turn their backs on her and she’ll definitely do something about it. Mr Seo then requested her to leave.

Ms Jung asked Ms Cha if the 1st trial was that bad, but the ruling party gave a 17%. Since the Ministry of Justice is the next in-line for the Presidential position, for sure many companies will be in-line to support her but why the fuss about Chairman Joo. She apologized once again for crossing the line since she’s just a mere secretary, hehe.

Gaon thinks otherwise

Gaon and Jingho talks about Yohan and how surprised Gaon was that Yohan didnt let Chairman Joo off the hook. Itll be harder to find the motive and think that there’s some deal behind it. Looks like everything went well with the trial but still they cant mess it up and Gaon will look further into it. He’s still bugged with the doctor and Yohan from the first trial. Jang Kiyoung who is a witness, Gaon asked Yohan if he trusts what he said. Gaon commented how weird it is for him to change their statement and Yohan said he must’ve have a guilty conscience. Gaon is still isnt convinced as it seemed that he had another intention. Citing an example on making the defendant deliberately look like he murdered the victim. He also added that Yohan looked happy to get along with him. He observantly noticed how different he acted then all of a sudden after that, Yohan became quiet. Flashback of the witness scene and Yohan commented howcome Gaon kept focusing on him and asked if what he’s doing is intentional. Because of the way Yohan said his words, Gaon thinks that’s the reason why the defendant changed his statement and admitted professional negligence.

Yohan answered acting like what the fuss was about because it turned out well. Yohan only cared about the trial turning out right but Gaon wants constitutionalism.  Gaon asked if there is another reason and Yohan said its like a unjust game. It looks like Gaon just wants justice for the victims (especially with his backstory) and Yohan gave him a reality check. Gaon stormed out with a recording on hand.

Soohyun starts investigating on Mr Jang Kiyoung the witness from the first trial. Then we see someone else spying on Soohyun and informing whoever he’s speaking to, eventually finding out to be Yohan. Yohan said that Gaon came to see him too. Yohan thinks to why there’s a courageous witness. Yohan also was able to find the spy device under his desk. Gaon is in trouble. She eventually calls Gaon and finds comments on online articles after searching about Mr Jang stating how Yohan is called the devil. The more they seem to be connected.

Charity Show

Gaon and Jinjoo were called at Yohan’s office, they were invited to be at the production’s and the Social Responsibility Foundation charity fashion show event. The charity will be donating millions of dollars. Another tense eye connection happens between Gaon and Yohan...Awkward... Gaon looks away and Yohan observed the reaction. Jinjoo also mentioned how the chairman of the board is famous as the nation’s advisor. Gaon being the textbook judge declined, he says that its wrong for a judge to be at a event like that while looking at Yohan. The head producer invited them because they want the public to receive a sense of hope. They arrived at the event and the host asks them a question each especially to Yohan. The host states that the public shows a strong trust with Yohan and is watching him closely. Yohan promises that he will fighting for Korea’s just society with his life on the line. Jinjoo gets introduced to Mr Seo who is acting like a disgusting prick by Ms Jung and she’s left alone with him. Yohan saves her on time.

Yohan and Ms Cha meets at the event and congratulates him despite the surprise. They both pose for the camera and Ms Cha asked if he plans to do that again.

Yohan and Ms Jung meets once again too. Ms Jung warns Yohan that the owner does not like twist and turns.

Ms Cha introduces her husband and eventually her son who is the same guy from the Porsche incident. Oops. Plot twist.

Ms Jung talks to Mr Seo and makes a observed statement. She says that Yohan is not tamed enough. You can never tame a monster.

Gaon visits a pastor

Gaon continues his investigation on Yohan starting from his past. He visits a church talking to a pastor who knew Yohan and says how different he is from others. The pastor notices how Yohan has a gloomy expression on his face and kept quiet most of the time. A flashback of a young Yohan smashed a bird on the head during class to stop it from flying around. The classmates started calling him names and a monster. They continue to treat him as a invisible classmate. The pastor calls him a devil but its nothing compared to what happens next. The classmates started treating him badly and yet they're the ones acting like a monster. An incident at school happened when the items of the upper class kids were missing and the blame was on them, Yohan was the cause of that incident. At that moment, Yohan eventually became like a devil.

After the event, Gaon went back to Yohan’s office to check on the spy device but eventually Yohan caught him. While they were talking Jisung hears a beeping sound only for Gaon to realize that its a bomb. The bomb exploded and Gaon saves the both of them.
