slow day today; what are y'alls favorite "ugly" yo-kai? as in, yo-kai that aren't the stereotypical cute nyan or koma variants, nor the "hot anime guy/girl" ones.

while i personally wouldnt consider this fella "ugly" he's def not in the above categories so i like ebisu :)

YOKAI WATCH THEORY casanono evolves from dimmy

* yokai power is being unpopular, unloved and sad

* casanono is just a more humanoid version of 'long rectangle with a ghost tail'

* both have that sort of androgenous aesthetic and depressiony life that u can relate to as a member of the lgbtq communuty

* actually has several similarities between casanono's outfit and the one on dimmy's canonical evo blandon aka the one where it doesnt change at all except wearing that outfit

* apparantly wild casanonos are even a rare encounter in the same area as dimmys

* casanono doesnt have a canonical pre-evolution even tho the positive version casanuva does

* itd be really cool as like a twist on the ugly duckling? Cos casanono looks EXACTLY THE SAME as casanuva yet still gets unloved while the pink coloured version gets to be celebrity cupid. So like "the shy awkward kid grew up to be beautiful but everyone still continued being bullies because bullies are assholes that way"

And ok im kinda sad now cos apparantly there are indeed Powersaves codes to make ur yokai evolve into different stuff but it doesnt work on an emulator. U can even turn them into the non playable bosses like maddiman!!!

i've checked out some gameplay for the beginning of the first game

dimmy, pre-evolution of blandon, is super easy to befriend early on

just like pokemon rattata, which holds a special place in my heart

they're also both purple

unrelated to pokemon, one of my funniest skills is stealth - appearing and disappearing without people noticing. the exact thing this yokai is all about
