Every time I see a fanart of "mommy Feyre," I feel nauseated. SJM gave us a protagonist whose clear intention was to enjoy her youth before wanting a child — Feyre literally said that. Two books later, with a very short time span between the events of the 3rd and 4th books, Feyre is pregnant.

Please don't tell me it's because of the war and Rhysand's near-death experience. We know that, in reality, it was because SJM once again wanted to pour herself into her characters as an escape. The point is that, again, a woman needs not only marriage but also to become pregnant to be considered fully happy, reinforcing the stereotype.

Moreover, she gets pregnant youngb —21, if I'm not mistaken — and now ceases to be Feyre to become "mommy Feyre," as if her individual identity is entirely intertwined with this, with motherhood. And I didn't even want to mention the hypocrisy involved in all of this, but just as a reminder: Feyre left Spring Court because she feared being the breeding mare of the High Lord.

I really would like to know when these female characters will stop needing to necessarily get married at the end of their stories to have a "complete" ending, and become pregnant if there’s a later book because "marriage and motherhood is the ultimate happiness for a woman.

“Ugh why is this so hard?” You could hear your boyfriend groaning from the kitchen as you made your way downstairs. Normally you were first to wake up, so when you woke up this morning to an empty bed you were slightly confused to say the least.

“What’s so hard?” You peered your head around the kitchen door, smiling at a half dressed Hangwon slumped on the counter.

“This.” He signalled his hand to the blank piece of paper in front of him. “Writing lyrics.”

“Ahh. Why don’t you just take a break, the lyrics will come to you.” You made your way towards your boyfriend, wrapping an arm around him before planting a soft kiss on his temple.

“I can’t take a break right now.” He sighed, looking up at you with puppy eyes. “Wait- I know what will help.” Hongwon sprung from his seat, making his way towards the kitchen cupboards before reaching to the back one, opening it and pulling out a bottle of alcohol.

“It’s six o’clock in the morning, you’re not having vodka.” You glared at the evilly grinning boy.

“Why not?” He took a step closer to you, arms open.

“Did you not hear me when I said it’s six o’clock in the morning?” You stated exasperatedly, deflecting the shrug of your boyfriend’s arms onto yours

“Ugh fine, but I get a reward drink when I finish these lyrics.” He grinned his most convincing smile, your eyes flickering between Hongwon’s face at the barely full page on the kitchen counter.

“Deal.” You reached out your hand for Hongwon to shake, your hand evidently being completely ignored as he pulled you into a tight hug, his lips covering every inch of your face in quick kisses.
