HELLO HELLO IT'S ME AGAIN! It's my pleasure to present to everyone the accompanying artworks to my partner's (@youve-cath-to-be-kitten-me) #AvatriceBigBang entry: CODA

“I’m Ava, by the way. Ava Silva.” She extends her arm for a handshake and uses the other to push the hair out of her face. “Normally my introductions don’t involve hitting people with doors.”  Beatrice takes it, and Ava’s hands are warm as she shakes her hand enthusiastically. “Beatrice Young.”

Ava sees Beatrice turn downstage, mourning the fact that she's too far to get as good of a look at her expression that she wants. But she squints through the glass of the booth window anyway, and when Beatrice’s expression shifts Ava lights up with recognition, hand lifting of its own accord until her fingertips brush the glass in front of her. Even from this distance she knows it. She saw it this morning, the night before, the night before that. Again and again and again and again.  Because what I feel for you, how I feel about you, it’s just as much of a great love story as the one I’m telling on stage.

The art in front of her is thousands of years old, probably worth more than any fortune, but she chooses to look away, to turn her face to Ava. Someone far more articulate, a poet maybe, would have some words about that. Something about how in a room full of priceless things she chooses to look at Ava instead. Beatrice could scour her brain for it, a quote that would put this all into words. But the truth is, poetry has never held a candle to Ava either, so she stays exactly as she is.

1. The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy is a very short and sweet book that my grandma got me a while ago and I read it every time I'm having a bad mental health day.

19. I can't think of one at the moment whoops

34. Surprisingly enough, I don't actually have many books with the enemies to lovers trope... I should fix that. I suppose the novelization of The Last Jedi counts, or the Shakespeare-style version of the sequel trilogy.

38. Favorite series..... that's a hard question. The Star Wars: Aftermath trilogy is one I've read several times because I love the characters but I'm not a fan of the writing style. The Arc of a Scythe trilogy is absolutely INCREDIBLE and I highly reccommend it. And while I despise JKR, Harry Potter was a huge part of my childhood and I can never really let go of it.

49. A Court of Mist and Fury. I enjoyed the original three books in the ACOTAR series but haven't kept up with the new ones and have kinda been avoiding the fandom because yikes I just wanna casually enjoy some books without taking sides about which characters are perfect in every way and which should be murdered in cold blood.
