I had been waiting for Season 2 to finish and I'm finally watching Alchemy of Souls!

Some pieces of information -- mostly about Dong Sik and Joo Won -- I've learned from the scriptbook.

(Note: The content of the scriptbook might not be 100% same with the canon facts.)

- Dong Sik was born on May 30, 1981 at 7 AM in Manyang. Joo Won was born on August 13, 1994 at 7 AM in Seoul.

- Dong Sik is good at Taekwondo and boxing.

- Dong Sik started his military service in November, 2000, shortly after Yu Yeon went missing. He was still serving when his father died. Dong Sik received a special leave to arrange his funeral.

- Dong Sik started working as a police officer at Munju Station in November, 2007. He was transferred to RIU of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in May, 2015 and worked there till October, 2017. He was on leave for the whole year of 2018 before he started working at Manyang Substation in January, 2019.

- Dong Sik killed Song Ji Oh, the murderer of Lee Sang Yeop, at the scene. He told this to the EMT and later in his report, but Nam Sang Bae got rid of the statement from the official documents and took the responsibility himself. As a punishment, Nam Sang Bae, who was soon to be promoted to be a Unit Leader, transferred from Seoul to Manyang and became the Chief of the substation.

- Joo Won's apartment is in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The room number is 2701, which means his place is on the 27th floor.

- Joo Won graduated from Westminster Under School and Eton College. He finished high school in Korea.

- Joo Won was exempted from military service as he got admitted to Korean National Police University. (He got into the university in 2013. For that year, the number of places was 120 and 7,641 people applied, which makes the admission rate approximately 1.57%.)

- Joo Won started working at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in March, 2017. (Meaning, he and Dong Sik technically worked in the same building for about eight months.)

- Joo Won speaks Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese. He is also good at Judo and Kendo.

- Manyang Garden (만양가든) was a kalbi (갈비) restaurant.

- Chief Nam was alive when he was attacked in the junkyard, all the way to the port. In the trunk of Lee Chang Jin's car, he sang, almost whispered, the song to himself. "I feel lonely leaving without you, I feel so lonely... Don't cry, don't cry tonight..."

---ở Hongkong, nền kinh tế nằm trong tay cỡ một ngàn gia tộc, thường là người Quảng Đông di cư sang từ thời xưa. Đời đầu, nếu là 1 hiệu thuốc bắc, các đời sau biến nó thành tập đoàn dược phẩm. Nhà Lý Gia Thành, ban đầu là cửa hàng bán đồng hồ, sau thành tập đoàn đa ngành, trong đó có độc quyền khai thác kênh đào Panama. Hay ông Cheng Yu Tung, tụi tui gọi là Lão Trượng, đầu tiên là thợ bạc, có cửa hàng vàng bạc đá quý, sau trở thành chủ tập đoàn Chow Tai Fook, sở hữu hệ thống khách sạn New World (có 1 cái ở VN, kể sau nha). Tui kể sơ về mô hình của chủ tui cho mọi người hiểu cách họ làm giàu ra sao. Đời đầu là sạp giày dép trong chợ Graham, sau biến thành tập đoàn chuyên về may mặc, rồi sau là tài chính, sáp nhập doanh nghiệp. Hàng ngày, khách du lịch, những người có óc làm ăn ở Philippines, Thái Lan, Malaysia, Indonesia....tới thấy giày dép này hay, có thể đem về nước họ KD nên đặt số lượng lớn. Cùng là người gốc Quảng nên họ tin tưởng nhau rất mực, ai khôn vặt lừa lọc 1 cái là họ đồn nhau tẩy chay, coi như kết thúc cuộc đời thương trường. Ông chủ tui sang Đại Lục đặt hàng gia công, sau các nhà máy cần vốn mở rộng sản xuất thì họ cổ phần, ông chủ tui góp vô, từ từ lên mức 51% để chi phối. Cứ thế mà tích luỹ. Khi có vài ba tỷ đô rồi thì đa ngành, mở thêm mảng khác. Buổi trưa, ở các khách sạn ven vịnh biển khu Harbour, thương nhân hay ngồi trầm ngâm, vừa ăn vừa nhìn xuống vịnh cảng, nơi các con thuyền đi qua đi lại, nghĩ cách giao thương với thế giới. Họ ít gặp khách vào buổi trưa vì ăn rất nhanh, cỡ 30-45 phút là quay lại làm. Trà dư tửu hậu thì vào buổi tối, họ vô phòng riêng trong nhà hàng, có cái bàn tròn xoay thức ăn, uống rượu vang, nói chuyện xây dựng quan hệ. Làm ăn, tất cả dựa trên lòng tin. Ai xây dựng được thì có tiền.

Một lần, tui đi đại lục (tỉnh Quảng Đông) để đặt gia công. Bên đó tiếng phổ thông người ta tốt, tui giao tiếp được. Các ông chủ nhà máy là người Quảng nhưng quản lý hay công nhân thường là từ các tỉnh phía Bắc, miền Trung, miền Tây TQ. Như Tp Quảng Châu, cứ mỗi mùa Tết, gọi là xuân vận, mười mấy triệu người chật ních các ga Quảng Châu để về quê, thời đó tàu cao tốc chưa nhiều nên công ty cho họ nghỉ 2 tuần, riêng đi lại cũng mất mấy ngày. Tui làm QC (quality control), kiểm tra nguyên liệu, thành phẩm, mẫu mã bao bì, nhưng chỉ là tập sự, đi theo mấy anh chị cứng nghề. Rảnh rỗi là tụi tui đi khảo sát các nhà máy nhỏ trong mấy xã xa xôi để đánh giá xem có hợp tác được hay không. Thường các nhà máy này giá rẻ hơn, do công nhân rẻ, nhà nước ưu đãi vốn. Ở Trung Quốc, cứ mở nhà máy ở huyện ở xã nghèo là được cấp vốn lãi vay bằng 0.

Bữa về lại Hongkong để đánh giá thì tui thấy trong 1 loạt tiêu chí, có tiêu chí "quản lý nhà máy có đẹp trai không" trong báo cáo, làm tui cười sặc sụa. Ông chủ giải thích là đẹp ở đây là sự khoẻ khoắn gọn gàng sạch sẽ thơm tho. Họ có body khoẻ mạnh tức lối sống lành mạnh, yên tâm làm lâu dài không có nửa chừng bệnh hay nghỉ việc vì ốm; họ ăn mặc đẹp tức có gu mỹ thuật, làm hàng cho mình sẽ bắt mắt, dễ bán; người quen thơm tho thì cái gì hôi họ chịu không được; ai lùi xùi xộc xệch quần áo đổ lông cũng mặc, da bóng nhờn tóc tai bờm xờm...tức không chăm bản thân mình, thì cái xưởng cái nhà cái cây con chó con mèo họ cũng không thể chăm. Bản thân chẳng biết thế nào là đẹp thì hàng hoá làm ra chẳng thể nào đẹp, óc thẩm mỹ họ không có hoặc không quan tâm đến. Tui hỏi, hàng hoá cũng như con người, cứ tốt là được rồi mà, phải không. Ổng không chịu, nói tốt chưa đủ, phải kèm với đẹp thì mới thành TỐT ĐẸP.
