in general my philosophy is that if there’s a story about gals and especially gals in love. male characters should be used as props at most. extremely minor characters. characters used to enhance and further the narrative of the gals. limited backstory, character arc, and distinctive character traits. Thinks abt my lob corp nuggets oh so hard. I may only have second hand half remembered knowledge of project moon worldbuilding but I will still forever obsess over my lil guys who suck absolute ass
#rat rambles#oc posting#I <3 women who are just straight up bad people#this is mostly abt my girl yuri but its also abt my girl juliet#yuri is well. she's certainly smth.#she's very fascinated in psychology and in particular the psychology behind abnormalities#and it is for this reason that shes in disciplinary#for most of her life one of the things that had facinated her most is the mind'd reaction to pain and suffering#so she finds suppressing abnormalities to be very fun and interesting#her girlfriend maxy certainly has an interesting perspective on this aspect of yuri to but it kindly#maxy has a lot of self loathing mostly relating to how numb shes become to everything and how unatural it is for her to care abt stuff#so she sees yuri as a far better person than she is because she still manages to care and be passionate abt things#she deeply admires and loves yuri and feels like she doesnt deserve yuri's affection#maxy is also the only person that I say yuri genuinely cares abt on a personal level#most of the time even ppl yuri rly likes arent safe from her morbid curiosity but she genuinely cares abt maxy's wellbeing#now juliet is generally a lot less extreme than yuri but shes still not great#juliet and her bestie loki both are genuinely very invested in the cause and goals of lob corp which is the first red flag#but juliet is the more noteworthy of the two actions wise because she actually interacts with fellow employees#she was among the first employees here and while she comes off as friendly and nice she takes her job incredibly seriously and doesn't fuck#around when it comes to productivity levels#she generally respects malkuth a lot more than any of the other robots and actively dislikes most of the others#most newbies tend to like her because of her being one of the few higher ranking employees thats friendly and welcoming but most that make#it longer term tend to realize quick that she doesn't care abt any of them#but whats often worse than her not caring abt you is her seeing potential in you#if she sees potential in someone she will make it very clear and do everything in her power to help them realize that potential#one of my other higher ranking guys mason very much hates juliet because of that exact situation#mason rly didnt know what she was getting into when she got hired at lob corp and mostly worked with the much softer abnos for her first#while at the job until she was thrown into the deep end to work on censored#most of the other higher level employees at the time wouldnt be able to make it through a work session with censored but she was#barely. but it was enough that juliet took notice of her and decided that maybe this guy was worth keeping around afterall

i think w avatar in my own base... world that i draw/think. in. of. you know what i mean like the main reality to ME that i've developed the pairings would be well zuko sokka and then i can't decide if i prefer mai ty lee and azula having something weird going on where ty lee and azula have been dating for years and mai orbits them orrr suki and/or azula meeting through ty lee being in the kyoshi warriors (and then the classic mai lee) which i think would be a really fun dynamic to be honest i wonder why i haven't seen it much. anyway. yue and jet are also nebulously alive just cuz idc. i like yue katara i think that's cute even if it's still funny to steal ur brothers ex but i justify it by well as much as they were cute they truly went on like one ? date and just liked each other it just so happened to end very dramatically. it would be the same if sokka dated idk... jet ... anyway. though her and aang are still cute. mostly not like i am centring pairings and Shipping and such it's just easier to have things established just thinking things in my mind U_U i also am pondering an au to do with zuko and yue where they're friends and i'll leave it at that bc i think it's a fun idea i haven't seen around. rubs my hands together.

Personally wrt characters from any form of media unless two men have an extremely odd and insane relationship that would only be more crazy/funny by making it romantic I don’t see the appeal of shipping them but two female characters could breathe in the same vicinity and I’ll be like ohhh this is so yuri. Also stop calling two random men yuri. The two male characters need to have the same unhealthy devotion and codependency a female friendship that changes their life forever (normally for the worse) if they even want to come close to being awarded an honorary yuri badge. & idk if that should even be permitted because some of y’all are just insulting wlw with what you call yuri.
#Eileen/the doll is by far the best example of this. Eileen’s line about the doll you’ll always be famous to me.#actual yuri does not have these constraints by the way I just don’t think that#two characters who are Just Some Guys deserve to be called yuri.#also I think the source material needs to care about women or have at least one well written female character or else it’s just annoying#hilson for example. honorary yuri badge. nothing more lesbian than centering ur life around someone ur not romantically involved with.#& faking your death and leaving your life behind for them and (probably) killing yourself when they’re gone

just saw a yuri on on ice post pop out of my queue and tbh the funniest thing about yoi in my professional opinion is that I dont think victor is coaching legally? like I'm not from russia so I can't talk on the accreditation process of coaches but there usually is at least some sit-down seminar and practical assessment. did viktor "gay onsen surprise" nikiforov do his mandatory beginner skater coaching hours? when yuuri flubs his jumps in training does viktor think about how legally fucked he would be because he's not accredited by any national figure skating authority? does he?? does he?????

yuri on ice was absolute shit btw and the whole main conflict being because a teenage kid is upset that an adult mentor keeps flaking on him so he insulted his love interest and the adult mentor proceeded to grab his face and threaten him. weird as fuck!!
#I stopped watching after that scene lol#how am I meant to root for this couple and this guy when you hav e him overreacting to a minor being a brat#because the minor takes his skating actually seriously while everyone else in the anime is treating it like a dating game#like damn dude I'd be pissed too if I worked my ass off constantly but my potential mentor ignored me#for an out of shape competitor with no motivation just because they want his dick#I never understood why it was so popular when this is literally the premise#blonde yuri is the only likeable or reasonable character in the whole anime but he's treated like shit and he's like 17 it's actually wild#idc if some kid calls your crush fat you don't get in their face or put hands on them lmao#it's also weird because they could have added any kind of antag they wanted#and they made the antag a child who is responding very understandably to the adults around him being utterly unserious

Damn time really flies without you noticing. Its already 2024. A year ago to this day (the 7th january) Buddy Daddies started aring. It was great but i havent thought of it much like most of tje other stuff i watch/read. However i was scrolling though yt shorts and one of the videos was just a genshin impact video of something (i havent played it before but it was the acaramouch fight by the looks of the robot) but the song playing in the background was oddly familiar, so i clicked on the sound and looked at some of the thumbnails for the other videos before realising that it was the Buddy Daddies opening... its such a good opening and i checked the ed video and the musics great as well. I forgot how great the last image on the ed is with them all sitting on the sofa together. Ive gotta rewatch it but the dubbed version at somepoint. That one yakuza babysitting anime as well thinking of it. Anyway i found out that the first episode of Buddy Daddies was january 7th 2023 and i thought it was amazing how i remember it again on january 7th 2024. The yakuza one was july 7 2022 (not actually that many days before my birthday thinking about it) and ive yet to finish it so i really should at some point.
Anyway time really does fly...

Okay then here we go *cracks knuckles*
So there's this daughter of the CEO of a giant tech corp, Miorine, who wants to escape from her private school because her dad intends to make her marry whoever is the best at Giant Robot Fights.
She meets this random country girl, Suletta, who just started attending the school. Suletta inadvertently is the best at Giant Robot Fights because she has a crazy good robot, making her Miorine's fiance, and Miorine suddenly decides "hang on this might not be so bad."
Suletta was not aware that being gay was an option, but once she realizes that's on the table, she instantly becomes head over heels for Miorine.
They repeatedly refer to themselves as being bride and groom, and their relationship's importance is constantly recognized and affirmed by the people around them. Their relationship is central to the plot.
A lot of stuff happens, but some highlights:
Miorine sees Suletta being targeted by the corporations, and she decides to use her knowledge of the corporate world to start her own company so she can protect Suletta. This is a significant moment because it goes against her earlier wishes to escape the corporate world; protecting Suletta is more important to her. When asked why she did this, she calls herself Suletta's bride.
Suletta constantly talks about having a wedding with Miorine
Suletta tries to kill a guy for getting between her and Miorine (as she should)
Miorine makes Suletta promise to stay with her forever, and text her three times a day. Suletta does this dutifully. (Needy x Indulgent is such a cute dynamic)
Miorine tries to push Suletta away for her own protection. This backfires. Suletta forgives and comforts her.
Miorine tells Suletta's mom that they should get along since they're going to be family (power move)
They are featured together in the intro and ending of every episode.
They get married at the end of the series, and wear rings in the ending. Suletta becomes a school teacher, and Miorine uses her successful company to support her.
Gundam Witch is a love story. Suletta and Miorine are canon and they are married. It's an incredibly significant relationship because gay marriage isn't even legal in Japan, but it's treated as normal in the show. They are so important to me. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
