currently reading -eheh... um. i'm SUPPOSED to be trying to like. read actual books. ive got a stack i got from a good friend recently. i did manage to finish a manga volume (kenka bancho otome 1 of 2, lots of fun, we love a good crossdressing story here)

last song - Per la gloria d’adorarvi by Giovanni Bononcini - fun z lore: i took vocal lessons from grade 2(age...7?) to when I was about 16/17, this was one of my contest/recital pieces. the reason i had been listening to it is there's a segment of Skyrim wilderness music that sounds like a section of the song and my brain just beelined for it lmfao anyway here's a pretty rendition for your enjoyment

last movie - blinks. i dont really do movies bc my attention span is shit so ... it *mightve* been the Polar Express right before christmas lmfao good movie tho

last series - last one i finished was dunmeshi (again) but I've been watching eps of the 1984 Night Court here and there as my brain allows :3

sweet, savory, salty - i have a terrible sweet tooth but honestly i love savory and also fresh veggies a lot, spinch salad ftw

craving - honestly? baked salmon on a hot bowl of rice.... i love fish and rice. iconic combo. king of dinner bowls

tea/coffee - tea pls but it needs to have a flavor adjuster bc i can taste ALLLLLLL the tannins all the time in everything

currently working on - trying not to actually sing bc my voice is still out but mouthing along to per la gloria lol and still thinking about writing a new bit for my prohibition au <3

i think I'd recommend starting with commit this to memory for anyone wanting to try them tho. it's really the most solid one and my personal favorite. dinosaur life is also really up there tho and more relevant to a 2010's type of 'actually I'm not my only problem the world is kinda shit and people are assholes ' mindset. which i adore and endorse

even if it kills me is definitely a recovery/starting to get help album tho, i can't listen if I'm not in the mood for it. very much an "i can't do this anymore and I'm trying to get out but I'm also looking back at what i had and picking thru our pieces and it's hard to say goodbye" and like. mood. but personally i am usually in the 'the world sucks and people are assholes' territory lol

i am the movie is fun but it's a hit and miss initial album for me and definitely not as cohesive as later ones. there are some bangers tho. big fan of "The Future Freaks Me Out", "Perfect Teeth", "Modern Chemistry", "Capital H", and "A-OK" which really contain the seeds of the sound they'll go on to develop in later albums instead of falling prey to 'generic 2003 emo?alt?"rock"? band sound' which I'm sure isn't actually a thing or has a real name but I'm not actually a music guy so that's what i call it LMAO

as for the latest ones. well. my brain has a brick wall, or several. att/ack on ti/tan style, in a way, at several year marker points and it's extremely difficult to get through the 2010 one for me. but I'm trying. i promise! i even listened to doja cat the other day (or is it doja kat(t)?) very good 10/10

but if you want emo/alt rock music from about 1998-2010 or sometimes 2010-2015/16. i might be ur guy lmao

its really funny to me sometimes that i love spiders and hate crabs. like full on tiny-child screaming in bewildered terror fear and hatred.

spiders are helpful land critters! they eat gross bugs that wander into my house and thus are welcome

i get people mixed up in my brain like allll the time, bc my brain will take like. the vibes and the concepts/job/happening/vibes surrounding them and the event and sort of. do an interpretive dance while storing that memory. so when i try to pull it back out its like looking at a rothko and i have to figure out what the fuck was this about 😭

and that's a lot of words to segue into the fact i thought, FOR SURE, Mr. LeVar Burton of Reading Rainbow and Star Trek fame had passed away not so long ago last year... AND THEN I FOUND HIS BLUESKY ACCOUNT WITH RECENT POSTS and i had a small panic thinking "oh my god is someone doing a creepy digital necromancy" and then i was like "wait my memory is bad let's google" NOPE he is definitely alive 😭😭😭 I think my brain put in "LeVar Burton" when it was SUPPOSED to store "James Earl Jones" but all my stupid greymeat got right was "Black male actor" "widely beloved media figure" "related to stories I really like" "big in the eighties" "recently passed away and i was really sad about it" and probably got put in the same brain folder as like Steve Irwin and Bob Ross 🤦‍♀️

it genuinely feels sometimes like there's a little capuchin running around in there trying to perform filing but it is a monkey and filing is a human activity so there's a lot of stress, confusion and screaming

fun story: my partner used to make his own beef jerky for fun, trying new recipes and stuff bc we had a food dehydrator. at the time it was still basically the same cost to make the jerky than it was to buy a bag. that was like 2021, not sure what the cost comparison is now tho

i have a three page Google doc of the shit she did to me and our other coworkers AND clients just in the last three or so months i was there. i worked there for a year and a half.

what a fucking nightmare. there's two companies i will refuse to work for and that's one of them, primarily bc i don't want to see her ever again. and the fact that i know she didn't face any disciplinary action bc our überboss was a weak willed hand wringing liberal who didn't want to appear racist. Steven we don't hate her because she's Chinese. other decent Chinese people work here and we get along fine. we hate her because she's constantly screaming at us, demanding we do unnecessary things for her, and acts like we're some sort of dog shit she found on the bottom of her shoe instead of her teammates. :) and she specifically targets me because i broke her 12-month no-inury record so jot that down maybe

also parsley is an edible herb so i didnt feel the need to say anything about it but i will say from personal experience parsley infusions are the most disgusting thing I've ever drunk and i would not go the pessary route unless you've grown it yourself bc there's no telling what pesticides are on it. no one wants pesticides up the cunt.

cookies. specifically those Lofthouse soft sugar cookies that are basically small condensed cakes with the buttercream frosting? but really anything sweet and round will do in a pinch

how many languages do you speak?

ostensibly two. my german's quite rusty because i've had no real need to work with it for several years, but I took 4 years in high school and quite a few courses in college. It was actually my major on my second college attempt, and I was hoping to be able to get into translation work eventually. but then life happens so u know whatever, I just collect antique books printed in german now and randomly talk to myself in it lol

I've taken a couple semesters of Japanese, had a really cool teacher, and my partner and i watch a lot of anime subbed so I still pick out vocabulary or phrases that I know but I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near able to have a conversation lol I imagine it's a little annoying to watch with me because I'll mutter things like "ah, byouin. hospital" to myself xD

If I hadn't gotten cold feet and backed out, I would've gone to beautician school to become a nail technician :3

something youre proud of

I think I've done a lot of growing just in the last four years. I'm waiting to hear back on a job in a field I absolutely never would've considered before and I think maybe it just might rock. Ever since I saw the phrase "do it scared" I've held it like a mantra and I think it's helped me do a lot of things I thought I couldn't.

How many languages do you speak?

Two (English and Filipino). 여기 한국어도 대답하고 싶지만 나보다 1살 한국인 아기는 더 말하고 이해할 수 있는 것 같은데 😅 I can understand Bisaya to an extent, but attempting to speak it... An anecdote as an example: I once told my friend while we were crossing the road to hurry up so we wouldn't bleed through our skirts. (Ligsan = get hit by a car. Lapsan = bleed through one's clothes [when on their period])

Something you’re proud of

When I was around thirteen, we visited a relative's farm. While walking with my sisters, there was a dog (medium size, light coat, think coffee with lots of milk and clots of cream here and there) that approached us unprompted, and out of the three of us, it put its front paws on my tummy so it could smile up at me. We all showered it with lots of love, but even after it got tired and had to go down on all fours to rest, it stood back up against me again. The sun was blistering and my throat was a desert, but the pure joy and peace that moment gave me will stick with me till I die, I think. ^_^

"the best version of yourself" is a common phrase and a great concept but when i was in elementary/middle school the local parish and thus my parents had a goddamn obsession with religious motivational speaker Matthew Kelly. and so i can now to this very day, some twenty-five years later, still ONLY hear that phrase in his voice in a fairly thick Australian accent. it just overlaps what I'm hearing or reading 😂
