Lots of movements now regarding the Fast Attack Interdiction Crafts (FAIC) of the Philippine Navy (PN), being some of the newest Assets of the PN they are being moved around to maximize their Potential Use. One of these latest Movements was the transfer of the BRP Domingo Deluana (PG-905) from the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) Area of Responsibility to that of the Naval Forces West (NFW).

The BRP Deluana was sent off in a Ceremony recently at the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in Zamboanga City

Manhunt Underway for Suspects in Philippine Coast Guard Officer's Fatal Shooting

  ZAMBOANGA CITY - The local police force in an unwavering quest for justice has launched a large-scale manhunt operation to capture three suspects linked to the tragic killing of Ensign Jenard Santos, an officer of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), within the city limits. Col. Alexander Lorenzo, the city police director, confirms the identities of the individuals responsible for the gun slaying, intensifying efforts to bring them to justice.  

Relentless Pursuit of Justice

Ensign Santos, 30, previously stationed at the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) headquarters in Zamboanga City, fell victim to the ambush while riding his motorcycle in Barangay Kampung Islam around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday. Assailants fired multiple gunshots, resulting in his untimely demise. During a phone interview, Lt. Col. Paul Andrew Cortes, the city police information officer, revealed, "The suspects shot him while he was on his way home," emphasizing that the victim hailed from Barangay Curuan in Zamboanga City.  

Tragic Incident and Stray Bullet

Following the attack, Santos was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Tragically, a stray bullet injured Mushayra Tiblani, a 23-year-old resident of Kampung Islam. At the crime scene, investigators found six empty shells of a 9-mm pistol, crucial evidence aiding the ongoing investigation.  

Believed to be Work-Related

Col. Lorenzo believes Santos' killing was likely motivated by work-related issues. The officer had previously served in General Santos City but was relocated to the CGDSWM headquarters in Zamboanga City due to perceived threats to his life.   Pursuit of Perpetrators Authorities are determined to apprehend the perpetrators, ensuring justice is served and providing solace to the grieving family and colleagues of Ensign Jenard Santos.   Sources: THX News & The Philippine News Agency. One of the latest Fast Attack Interdiction Craft-Missile (FAIC-M) of the Philippine Navy (PN), the BRP Laurence Narag (PG-907) was assigned to the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) recently, and here are some Pictures of it during its Welcoming Ceremony in Zamboanga City.

The Vessel is one of the FAICs that are armed with the Spike Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Missiles which has a Range of around 32 km.
