Meet the Artist: @zandraart

Hiii! I'm @zandraart, a full time freelance illustrator & animator from the US! I love telling stories and creating worlds that you can get lost in. I've been posting my art on tumblr for years (a decade???) and love being able to share my art and connect with those who like it! After graduating art school, I've had the joy of working with companies and individuals from all over the globe to try and bring their visions to life. I've created animations from gifs to short films, art for feature films, worked on games, merch, illustrated books and magazine covers, webcomics, crafted up art for phone apps and even painted custom gaming systems! The world is so much better with more art in it, and I love being able to share mine with you! Feel free to check out my website to see what I've been up to!

2: Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)

I think this honestly depends on the character for me. If I'm used to drawing a specific character in a certain position, just out of habit, it gets harder to draw them in other ways. I will say, though, 3/4 back view is the worst, no matter which direction.

6: Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)

Hmm... this is a toughie. I think that I'm really inspired by a lot of other artists, especially when I'm drawing in fandom spaces. Some of the artists in the TAZ fandom who I take inspiration from are @herbgerblin, @foxaes, and @acadieum. I also ADORE @zandraart's use of color

My lock screen is this beach painting I found on tumblr by @zandraart

My last song, according to spotify, is "People Make the World A Better Place" sung by Juanita Tippins, from the soundtrack of The Sapphires. Which I don't actually remember listening to recently, but it's a great song from a great movie, so I'll share it anyways.

The Sapphires is a 2012 Australian musical comedy-drama, loosely based on a true story. It's about four Yorta Yorta Indigenous Australian women who form a girl group named The Sapphires, travelling to Vietnam in 1968 to sing for troops during the war.

The last photo in my photo roll is an old family photo (my uncle been scanning and sending them by the dozens) so I'm not going to share it. The most recent sharable one is a screenshot of my beloved Sig from Love In the Air, about to lick his pen.
