Knitting socks for the first time with Zauberball and enjoying those slow fades. Sound removed, but just imagine the sweet strains of the Inspector Morse theme music.

No2 – Zauberball – #2
Zauberball making went well. Tow balls 55 gramms each. And the cardboard box of leftover yarn looks like untoutched. I wonder how the colours look after knitting. Stay tuned for a new pair of …… socks.

Finally finished these socks!! :D
It’s been a long time coming - I loved the look of this pattern when I got my giant 100-projects book, but definitely wasn’t up to the challenge at the time. It felt great to come back to it and find that I could do it with relative ease! The slipped-stitch raised stripe technique is one I’ve done before on these socks, and I think the effect is so cool; I’ve been incorporating it into my own hat pattern.
These are so vibrant and fun, and I wore them to my graduation last week!
Pattern: ‘Slippery Slope Socks’ by General Hogbuffer - here on Ravelry - in Interweave’s 100 Knits pattern book
Yarn: Orange is Schoppel Woll Crazy Zauberball in ‘Orangerie’, white is Cascade 220 Fingering in ‘Natural’

My swatches helping me turn this yarn into socks. I realized it's been a really long time since I had knit a pair of socks, so hope these work out. I am really loving this yarn so far!

✂️🧶☀️ Summer holidays slow makes:
Tried to knit with cotton blend Zauberball, and made a pair of short socksies with the picot edge. They're cute, but I'm not too sold on this colour combo. Was excited to try the picot edge, quite obsessed with scallops right now.
Had a couple of custom orders for small felt pies. Love making them even on a summer break! Heheh
Made a placemat out of my son's old tshirt. He is absolutely in love with this pattern, and kept wearing the shirt depsite well and truly growing out of it. I've suggested to repurpose it, so he can continue enjoying the visuals. The quality of the shirt is pretty impressive truly, despite being worn and washed so many time, the colours are still quite good (it's by the brand called Villervalla).
Went to Glaze It again to co-paint with my 10 yo son. Both the ragdoll and the mug turned just as lovely as we've expected. Love Glaze it, but wish they had more mugs and bowls to paint though. No matter how long I book for, I always run out of time.
Matchy-matchy handknitted socks for me and my partner. IN LOVE with these colours. If you're after this yarn, I've linked it here, it's called Ferner Mally Socks Rote Nasen.

Aberakadabera! – Happy Cat – Zauberball

Asking since i saw the beautiful yarn and shawl, how much for a skein of the yarn? (if you have more, i'm trying to find a b-day gift for my older sister)
Hi! The green one, you mean? That was a one-of-a-kind thing, I just dyed the one braid and most of it is gone now. Sorry. But even if it were, I wouldn't sell my handspun - I want to keep all my shinies for myself, haha.
But! There's tons of people selling gradient lace/fingering weight yarns. Indie dyers sometimes do gradient packs (although that can be a bit of a mixed bag, definitely check people's reviews and if there's pictures from customers), you can probably find something on etsy or ravelry. Or, if you want a more affordable option, commercially produced gradient lace yarns are also available. Personally, I really like the Schoppel crazy Zauberball/magic ball; it's a yarn with long gradients but no colour repeats, instead the colour sections are more or less randomized. Gives it a bit of that handspun feel, yk?
Anyway. Thank you for asking (and for complimenting the shawl), and good luck on your quest for the birthday gift!

Took my yarn on a walk today. I needed to get some swatches out of the way before attempting some socks. I really love how this yarn looks! It's so colorful. I bought this yarn a while ago, this 2024, I'd really like to knit through some of the stash 😅
*I should have added earlier, the contraption the yarn is on is a portable wrist yarn holder from this fiber shop on etsy. It's especially good for caked yarn and allows you to walk and knit. It swivels so the yarn unwinds ❤️

what yarn did you use for your mom's scarf? it's so pretty
It's schoppel wolle Zauberball Crazy sock yarn (lol) in the shade "lockstoff" held with a strand of knitting for olive silk mohair in the shade "unicorn purple"! The zauberball crazy yarn is so cool, it's two verigated strands plied together and has like 6 different color combos. I'm quite obsessed with the result like I want it for myself ngl. Thank you 💖
