WIP Wednesday (8/28) | Mafia Front Restaurant AU (Part 211)

Kevin stared up at him for a lifetime, his eyes shiny. Finally, he swallowed and blinked and nodded. And Andrew let go, content that he’d done his job. That he’d talked Kevin down. But before he could turn around, Kevin surged forward to kiss him. He pulled Andrew down to his level and smashed their lips together. Andrew was beyond shocked, Kevin Day was a fantasy and nothing more.

Regardless, he went with it, meeting Kevin’s kiss with vigor. He fucked Kevin’s hair up, pulling at it. He bit at his lips and Kevin whined. It was amazing and perfect and wonderful. Until Kevin went still in his arms and choked out, “Wait. Stop.”

Andrew pulled back, panting with the all-consuming thing that was Kevin Day. “Stop for a second or stop forever?”

“Forever. I c-can’t do this,” Kevin answered, looking down into his lap as Andrew stepped backwards. Andrew swallowed his pounding heart and watched Kevin for a moment before clearing his throat. He needed to smoke or drink or throw himself off a highrise.

“I’ll be back,” Andrew said as he left the room, heading for the roof. Kevin promised no such thing. He was gone when Andrew got back, all his things missing. All evidence he’d ever lived in the dorm— gone. Except for a photo in Andrew’s wallet, one taken at Nicky’s insistence.

Andrew spent all night looking for him. Searching for him desperately, he checked the party first. Then the court. (Then the Tower’s laundry room, because sometimes Kevin liked to sit down there and watch the machines— the weirdo.) But he couldn’t find him. He even grabbed the car and drove around campus, checking the bus station. His entire world was falling out from under him. Pathetic, Andrew knows, that he allowed Kevin Day to become his entire world.

But Kevin was his responsibility and he left Kevin alone. Worse, he kissed Kevin and fucked him up and ran him right into Riko’s broken arms. Kevin never came back to Fox Tower and Andrew spent fifty-one horrible days thinking that he’d killed him.

sometimes i forget that in canon, the three caballeros aren't a poly couple and it always gives me whiplash. wdym those 3 silly birds who have such a strong bond and are so extremely caring with eachother aren't madly in love. wdym panchito and josé do not come up with the most cheesiest petnames just to see how flustered donald can get. how are you gonna tell me those lovebirds don't snuggle everynight while sleeping in a bed that hardly fits the 3 of them. that panchito does not wake up first and kisses josé and donald's foreheads before leaving their warm ( yet uncomfortable ) bed. that donald does not carry a picture of panchito and josé with him on his wallet and whenever he misses them too much, he pulls out the picture to kiss it. you're gonna look at me and say josé would not sometimes purposely let himself fall behind chito and donald while the 3 of them walk around together just to take a better looks at his lovers. you CAN'T do that. they're call the three GAY caballeros for a reason,y'know.

I just love Zong Yi and his bluntness. He really told Ze Rui's rich and powerful grandfather that he's gonna be his grandfather-in-law soon. That and Ze Rui reminding him that Taiwan legalized gay marriage and he WILL be getting married to Zong Yi... I assume in a cameo in a future BL.

He is the greatest hero of all time and we love him deeply.

Zongyi is the single bravest character in the world and he is so, so happy and he is determined that he will not lose the love and future he's been planning.

And Zerui also focusing on the marriage they get to have was so sweet and the fact that him embracing his past is also him embracing the future and the love he tried to sacrifice thinking he had damaged it beyond belief.

And that would be great but I'm hoping that episode 13 is literally just a darling wedding with them, and Ai Di and Chenyi getting engaged so their wedding can be the cameo in HIStory 6: Freed.

What’s a caecilian?

I know I could Google it but I feel like we’d all get more joy out of my asking you.

Happy to answer! Imagine a worm and a snake made sweet squirmy love and had a child. That's basically what a caecilian is:

From the worm parent, they inherited blindness and a segmented body, as a well as a knack for diving into the mud and shallow water.

From the snake parent, they inherited a bullet-shaped snout, a left lung smaller than their right lung, and a penchant for eating bugs, slugs, snails, and worms (this makes family dinners very awkward).

Caecilians also tend to swim like eels and have chemosensory tentacles near the front of their heads like hagfish. It's possible that the worm and the snake wanted to spice things up in the bedroom and invited some of their other legless friends, but scientists have yet to prove this (cowards).

In terms of looks, Caecilians tend to appear very derpy from the side:

When viewed head-on though, they tend to resemble people who were asked to smile at a camera but didn't have enough time to mentally or physically prepare:

Finally, while there are many poisonous amphibians in the world, there are very few that are venomous (exceptions include tree frogs that inject venom via headbutting with skull spikes, and newts that ram their own ribs through their coated skin to make toxic spikes).

The Brazilian Ringed Caecilian seems to have venomous glands that coat their teeth to deliver a deadly bite like that of a gila monster, but scientists are still studying this. Regardless, don't get bit by one cause some caecillians really look like the chestburster from Alien:

Different species can be as small as 8.9cm (3.5in) to as large as 1.5m (5 ft) but caecilians know that size doesn't matter anyway

Caecilians are one of the three groups that make up all amphibians - the other two being frogs and salamanders

Baby Ringed Caecilians have 44 spoon-shaped teeth and will eat their mom's outer layer of skin for several minutes then take a break for a few days to allow their mom's skin to regrow before chowing down on it again yum yum

Kinda glad we had a full ep of Kiseki, where Ze Rui & Zong Yi didn't have any interactions at all. Usually they'd have a conflict, where everything got solved by the end of the ep, which I understand cause they're only half hour eps and they can't afford to drag things out. But I'm hoping the time apart makes their reunion that much better.

I am really wondering what this show and story are doing with the reunion but with double memory issues and four years between them and it's just gonna... oh, anon, it's gonna ache for a long time.

Zerui is living an empty life because without the past that shaped him he has no future he can dream of, because without the pain and the love he had before he now only has a void that he is trying to shape himself around and instead he is empty and just trudging day to day with nothing.

Zongyi lives in the past and the future because the present is ephemeral to him, the present vanishes is he doesn't think about it and his moment to moment memory cannot be trusted. So he is happy and he is free but he is moving through moments almost disconnected.

They are going to meet again but who is meeting who and what will it mean between them? Zerui doesn't remember Zongyi and Zongyi knows that but Zongyi needs to hold onto every moment they had to hold onto the future he's chosen.

They are the future and the present but the past between them is no longer present and I just cannot even imagine what this reunion is going to look like besides pain.

We have four more episodes. We have so much time to be hurt and to ache and to watch Zongyi and Zerui struggle with a past or a present and with shapeless futures that they need each other for but how do they get to each other again?

... I both await and dread Tuesday.
