As a "writer" let me just say that we never know what we're doing. Much like art, I think whether it's good or not depends a lot on whether you yourself are happy with it. My New Years goal was to write every day this year and so of the 60+ chapters I've written only one of has been "bad" because it was one I knew I could've done better on. So basically what I'm saying is - there is no right way to write! That's why it's so freeing and it's very exciting seeing someone discover that!

Hahahaha, it’s kind of funny because I remember being like this about art too, a long time ago. I remember just being able to draw and not worry about it. But then you start learning the rules and you start improving and you start noticing all the errors you make and next thing you know you just spent the last five minutes shifting something to the left and right by a pixel and the last hour redrawing the same freakin’ hand that STILL doesn’t look right.

I still enjoy doing art of course, but I long ago revoked my permission to just be bad at it. I don’t have that with writing, at least not yet. I have a sense of what is good or bad based on reading itself but heck I don’t even know how to write dialogue, where the heck do commas go, who knows? How to you plan a plot? What’s a decent transition? ?????? That’s the feeling i’m really enjoying at the moment, like my inner judgey arsehole self shutting up for a second.

I have friends who are wonderful, wonderful writers who create beautiful worlds with beautiful characters and beautiful dialogue and I know how hard they work. They rewrite sentences the same way I redraw hands. And I’m not sure I want that hahahaha I know it’s part of any growing process, but this initial phase of just being able to create freely, that is just so amazing sometimes. I’m curious to see where it goes too, it’s definitely fun to play with something new!

39, 50, and 60 for Cole!!

39: What would be your character's niche on Tumblr?

I actually had a hard time answering this one. I think that if Cole did have a tumblr he would probably just post a mixture of pictures of Coffee and a little bit of what he actually does for a living, which is actually giving advice and helping people trying to pick themselves back up. I will explain his actual job more later.

50: What is your favorite thing about your character?

I think that my favorite thing about Cole is that he doesn’t give a shit what others think or want from him. He does whatever he wants to do, to an extent of course like if it is majorly against the law he won’t do it. The reason he is like that is because his dad was controlling and wanted Cole to be the “perfect son” pretty much and finally Cole didn’t want to deal with that anymore to he left to go live with his girlfriend at the time and whatnot. So now Cole doesn’t really like when others try to tell him what to do.

60: If you could title your character's life, what would you title it?

“Picking your life back up when you are down, but still being a lazy little shit.”

Yea, a little long but still fitting. Cole had a tough life growing up, he actually ended up homeless for a few year, but he managed to make it through and pick his life back up. He is still really lazy and hates physical activity still though. If he can get someone else to do something for him, he will ask them to do it as long as it is nothing they are uncomfortable with, like making him coffee in the morning when he doesn’t want to get out of bed.

So yea, I love Cole. By far one of my favorite OCs I have ever made.
