It been a long time since I've made gifs and noticed that there wasn't an abundance of A'Yuan, though it the best place to restart. The quality isn't the best but I love this scene so much.
From "The Longest Promise" - This is an A'Yuan post.🐟🧜♂️💦
Screencaps + commentary
Note: Verb tenses used arbitrarily; they don't mean anything important.
Me, near the beginning of the drama: Girl, I'm not sure you're supposed to be touching his gills.😅
This was the hottest scene in the drama and you can't convince me otherwise. :< lol
The high ponytail look was 💯
High ponytails make everything better.😊
Seanammon Roll looks good with braids and "blue lipstick."
Me, later on in the drama: Yeah, she was definitely not supposed to be touching his gills.😅
Fishy expressions of surprise. The last one was such a "?!? WTF" expression. XD Mood.
Mmmmm cheekbones.

He was so nice (and 🔥). It would have been great if he and Shi Ying could have formally teamed up to fight crime. I know it was For Reasons, but "wo de A'Yuan" hit differently; why didn't they translate that? XD That last arc hurt.
(Sorry it's so ugly. ;-; It's the best I could do to avoid accidental scroll-spoiling.)
The End.

PS: The formatting of this post fought me like a final boss. x.x
The end result is not what I had in mind, and I even had to take out some pictures bc they kept showing up big instead of small (which I wanted to avoid accidental spoiling), but I tried my best.
Though we still prefer the novel Zhu Yan to the TV series (let's be honest, in the drama mostly only the names are left the same), The Longest Promise imagery is still very beautiful
rip Zhi Yuan, merfolk slave, leader of rebels, the best character in the show, you will be missed 💔 Honestly I don't know if I'll continue because I don't really like how they are representing the merfolks issue, sometimes the narrative forgets that they are the ones who are suffering true discrimination since years.
However look, even in dying he never could touch her face in affection. He never let to indulge himself, he always felt guilty for Yao Yi's memory, and even after he believed Zhu Yan was her reincarnation he never dared to act on his feelings because he didn’t want to put her in danger. And in the exact moment she wanted to touch his hand in return he died. This good man had never a moment of peace or truly blessful because he always sacrificed for the others. He deserved so much better 💔
I’m currently binging Zhu Yan and I’m on ep 16 and I really ship her with her warrior-servant-best friend Yuan. Like sorry but if I had someone like him in my life I’d never fall in love with a prince or a preceptor I saw once when I was 12, I’d have been crushing on that wronged, powerful, extremely handsome warrior my entire life and just plotting on how to seduce him (and plan a revolution with him to save his people) 😂
