Oh, what a wonderful question! I completely understand the feeling of being overwhelmed. It took me a while to get into the flow of crystals and gemstones.

Amethyst; I feel like this stone is reliable. You can find it in every crystal store, it's cost-effective, but it's also my birthstone!

Smoky Quartz: For healing trauma, I find this gemstone so grounding.

Purple Labradorite: ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, beautiful, glamorous, I love it. It's also quite difficult to find.

Garnet: This stone's colour is so beautifully deep, that it basically looks back.

Moonstone: It's technically the same as labradorite, but very beautiful. It just feels so magical. I love the shine.

Blue Lace Agate: Absolutely graceful. I know that's a weird way to describe an inanimate object. But it just feels graceful. Go to a store and see, you'll understand.

First of all, you can choose a gemstone from your favourite colour. There are loads of different crystals with different properties. For example, morganite, rose quartz, rhodonite, and zircon. All of them have pink in different hues.

This might take practice, but it's to use your intuition. Which gemstone calls to you? Pick different ones up and see how you feel as you hold it.

The most logical way is to get up an image from google and have it saved to your phone so you know what it is

What it comes down to, is what you like, what feels like the right choice and what you need. Maybe you want to feel more confident, or enhance some self-love, maybe even tap into your intuition & psychic power. It comes down to you choose, how you cleanse and charge/active the gemstone/crystal!

Hello! If you're here because I made an offhand remark in 2020 about getting a fistful of rubies for $20, I was simplifying very slightly. The lot of rubies that I got are now going for about ~$28, and you can find them here on gemsngems.com.

Do your own due diligence! I've had good experiences with them, I was able to corroborate those experiences with some other reviews online, but your mileage may vary.

FAQ

Q. What's the deal with this company?

A. Best as I can determine, gemsngems is a wholesaler operating out of Bangkok. They supply mass-produced lab-grown gemstones. Because they're operating out of Bangkok, note that international shipping times are probably going to be your enemy. I had to wait for my zircons for like six weeks.

Q. Hey, some of these ruby entries are looking more like $400 for one instead of $20 for ten. What gives?

A. The corundum this supplier has comes from three processes: flame fusion, hydrothermal synthesis, and Czochralski pulling. Flame fusion is cheap and easy, you cram some powdered aluminum oxide and some impurities into a plasma torch and bam, you've got rubies, or sapphires, or spinels, or padparadscha, or whatever. The resulting stones are good enough for me, which is why I bought them.

The hydrothermal process uses a big-ass autoclave to simulate the natural process by which these crystals formed. A saturated solution is put in and allowed to become supersaturated by slowly cooling it. Seed crystals are added to entice things to grow, and you've got pretty damn good stones. Notably, this can be used for things like beryl. It's more time and energy intensive, and that jacks up the price, but the result is basically indistinguishable from natural gemstone.

Czochralski pulling takes a seed crystal and puts it on the end of a puller rod that's dipped into a crucible of molten whatever. The rod is very slowly and precisely pulled upward, resulting in a monocrystalline "ingot" of that whatever. If you're trying to build a laser, don't, but that's kind of the only reason you'd need a gemstone with this kind of purity and structure.

Long story short, if you only need the rocks to look at like a dragon, you're fine with the cheapest option.

Q. Hey, why is there alexandrite listed in the corundum section?

That's simulated alexandrite. It's a corundum that's been doped with a colorant that changes hue from pink to green based on what angle you view it from. You can actually get true beryl alexandrite from this site, but since it's a beryl stone, a great big hunk of it's gonna be pricey, because of the above lecture.

yes, but it went through a name change due to confusion behind my intentions. if you see something floating around with the name "underlust rewrite" that has the same stuff as this AU, it's likely an old post. please know it's not a name i want to be used for this project anymore!

i didn't want to do another rename, but i found a lot of people gravitated towards the name "reimagine" for their AU's, so to avoid confusion, instead of making everyone else change, i figured it would be best if i just change mine. "rainbow" was another backup name i had before since it fits the pride theming!

at the time of originally writing this, i wasn't particularly confident in posting 18+ content online, nor in my ability to create it. while i have changed since then, i also didn't and don't want to completely alter my plans for this story. however, it is still a mature story -- it just doesn't have explicit sexual content like underlust did. consider it more like ao3 M-rated or 16+.

absolutely not! i love underlust! it was the first undertale AU i ever grew truly invested in when i joined the fandom back in 2020 that not only inspired me but helped me become more comfortable with my identity and sexuality. i wanted to make this AU not only because i loved it, but also because i wanted more people to experience the same feelings i did upon reading underlust the first time.

no, there won’t be. any ship content i’ve made can be considered non-canon, as well. there are canonical crushes and the like, but no specific relationships will happen in the main story.

condoriano was really initially just a joke by my friend @murmur-utdr-au / @murmurkins that we accidentally made more serious by giving him a story, but he won't make any direct canon appearances in the main ULR storyline. as for insans x ace, the ship condoriano spiraled from, you're totally fine to ship it! both @tatatale and i are fine with anyone who wants to do so. but know that ace will not have a canonical partner, and insans already has a canonical partner of his own!

If it is real gold, it will make a gold mark on unfinished ceramic. If it’s not, it will leave a black streak. Is it heavy? If the surface of the jewelry is tarnished or discolored, it’s less likely to be pure as this is not typical of most gold.

Is Gold Jewelry Hypoallergenic?

No and Yes. Unless it’s 24K pure gold, it is an alloy and likely mixed with nickel - a common metal allergen - to make it stronger and less malleable. If you like the look of white gold, opt for hypoallergenic titanium as an alternative (and it costs less). If you are partial to yellow gold and don’t have an extreme metal allergy, the higher Karats of gold may work for you.

As you know, plating is common to golden jewelry and sometimes it is intentionally done to keep the yellow gold appearance - White gold - This looks like a brighter version of silver. It is as popular as yellow-gold for engagement rings. White gold is sometimes paired with yellow-gold in items more commonly known as two-toned. White gold is made of white metals (i.e. palladium, nickel or manganese) that are stronger than gold. - Rose gold - A gold alloy with a pinkish hue, rose gold has become an engagement ring sensation! Now that we’ve covered the different qualities of the different types of gold, it is time to buy! This begins with finding a retailer. Finding a vendor To select the right dealer, consider these tips: - Go to reputable jewelers. The easiest way to find quality gold is to go to already known and trusted shops like Cartier, Tiffany, Graff and the like. They have solid reputations as trusted dealers who sell products that are of a high caliber. But these stores put substantially higher premiums on their products so that can turn many buyers off. - If you are looking for a budget-friendly purchase, seek out independent dealers who also sell exquisite pieces. Just be wary about who you are dealing with. You can make sure that you are transacting with a reputable dealer by checking their credentials and certificates. - Always compare. With independent dealers, a piece that can be found at one outlet for a certain price can probably be found at another outlet for a lower price. Always scout for other stores and compare prices. Yes, it may sound ideal to impulsively purchase jewelry, the one that immediately speaks to you. But the truth is, you can probably find the exact same item elsewhere and at a much more economical price. One of the reasons why bigger companies like Tiffany & Co. add a very high premium to their products is the exclusivity of their designs. You won’t find a ring made by Tiffany & Co. at a Cartier outlet.

Gold prices are determined mainly by purity. But how can you know what the purity of the meal is? Here are some tips: - Unless you have a readily available lab or have powers of microscopic vision, look for the hallmark. These are unique markings that are mostly found on inconspicuous parts of the item (i.e. inner circle of the ring, backs of earrings). Some markings will indicate the karatage, which indicates the gold content, while others would put the percentage of purity. Silver/Silver - Sterling Silver - Calculate the fairness of your purchase. What is the golden rule in calculating the cost of gold? How do you know if you’ve been duped? How do you make sure that you are making a fair purchase? Hang on to your thinking hats, because we’re about to get mathematical: - First, know the gold bullion price. If your seller is among the top-tier jewelers such as Cartier or Bulgari, they could sell an item at as much as ten times the value of the weight of gold. This is because along with the gold, you are purchasing the reliability of the product’s quality, the design which is usually made by notable jewelry designers, and of course the brand name.

Clear your doubts on the purchase

Clearing your doubts doesn’t mean thinking positively and just leaving the fate of your jewelry to luck and complete trust. On the contrary, you have to be vigilant about your purchase especially when you are doing business with independent dealers.
