An old Raph POV Man vs Sewer edit- somehow I’ve never seen this idea done? It’s implied he doesn’t really remember wrecking the tunnel, possibly not even his panicking, so I snipped that part out. The destruction’s especially jarring without context.

“Do you think they’re alive?” Leo asked. “Your…I don’t know. The one you’re not kissing me over.”

“Logan?” Finn asked, and it felt strange to say his name out loud. Finn reached into the neck of his t-shirt and pulled out a necklace. A sliver pendant. A fleur-de-lis. “This was his.”

“I’m sorry,” Leo said softly. “I’m so sorry.”

“No, no,” Finn said. “I found it. Before the bunker. This woman had a whole trunk load of stuff that she was trading. I really went up for some of the clothes but then I…” Finn swallowed. “I saw this and I knew it was his. I’d know it anywhere.”

“So…So, you think he’s…” Leo’s mouth was dry.

“I wish I could know. I’d like to think that I’d feel if he was dead. Or worse. I’d like to think that he…” Finn cleared his throat, rubbing a nervous thumb over the pendant. “Dropped it, clasp broke. Needed to trade it. Anything but…Crazy, how many explanations you can make yourself come up with, huh?”

“Yeah,” Leo said quickly, not wanting to force either of them to think about it. “Yeah.”

“He was going to be my fiancé.” He nodded at Leo’s raised eyebrows. “Yep. You know, if the world had decided to hold up just a few hours longer.”

“A few hours?”

“I was going to propose the night it all fell to shit.” Half a smile crossed Finn’s face. “I got reservations at this place we’d been trying to get into for months and—well, I wasn’t gonna do it there. He would have hated that.” Finn laughed, like he couldn’t help it, but Leo could see the pain. It was in the lines that his smile brought to his eyes. It was in the way his fingertips were white from pressure around the necklace. “He doesn’t like being the center of things, he didn’t…”

Finn trailed off again. This was often the problem. Unsure which tense to use. Unsure who you would see again. Unsure of how much to talk about the old world.

“I’m so sorry,” Leo said again.

Finn nodded. He pressed the pendant to his lips, like it was a cross or some religious relic. Then, he smiled at Leo. “Me too.”

“Well. He’s lucky to have you.”

Finn shook his head. “Nah. I’m lucky. About him.”

Zombie apocalypse au with the secret life players.

Cleo: got bit by a zombie and partially turned but is basically a human who doesn’t need to eat, sleep or breathe. She is however is a lot weaker and wounds take longer to heal or don’t heal at all. Zombie’s are targeting her more as they see her as a threat. Something that isn’t a human but isn’t them either.

Grian: always knew there would be a zombie apocalypse and has been preparing since day 1. He wants to help Cleo out as much as he can even though he knows she attracts more zombies to him. However they tend to go straight pass him so it’s a bit of scientific research on the side. He did not predict that.

Scott: old friend of Cleo who’s reunited with her after his band mates turned into zombies and tried to kill him. They end up parting ways after getting loss, also losing BigB in the process. Hopefully they will reunite again.

Martyn: is immune to the zombies but not like cleo. He’s fully human with a bit of blood lust but no one can tell if that’s from a previous zombie or if Martyn is just like that. He’s a loner and prefers to work alone. Whenever he does run into Cleo he will help her out. Dude just keeps running into her. (Double life soulmates? Maybe lol)

The zombies: fast and blood thirsty, recently turned one’s have their speech but over time it just becomes angry yelling and incomprehensible grumbles. All that the zombies want to do is turn people or kill them. Possibly a strain of rabies? These zombies rot slower then stereotypical zombies but their wounds do not heal. Cleo’s might but the actual zombies can not heal. They slowly break down and become more blood thirsty. They do have human intelligence at first but zombies slowly become closer to feral animals. Basically Gem is the smart stage and then Joel the feral stage.

Smarter zombies want to turn people and feral zombies want to kill people. I’m game logic yellows are more likely to be smart zombies and reds are more likely to be feral zombies.

Going over the immune two over again.

Cleo -> “immune” to an extent, her body is weaker but she’s not blood thirsty or craves brains. She doesn’t need to eat, sleep or breathe and can slowly heal. If she was to be bit multiple times (aka killed by an infected player in this case) then she’ll become a zombie. However it looks like most of the zombies want her dead.

Martyn -> immune so he can not become a zombie not matter how many bites or scratches is dealt to him. Martyn is on the blood thirsty side but it is unclear if that’s due to being bit or just him. He is still human so he needs to eat, breathe and sleep.

Basically the two only have some traits from zombies and mirror each other.

Grian and Scott are humans who are not immune and are very paranoid.
