Redraw of Zooman Greg from MAR 2021... it's always crazy to how much a style can change

Getting a lot of asks about my apparent plans for UF2 based on the old chapter list, so I went through and wrote out everything I could remember for these chapters based on only their titles and the very sparse handful of notes I still have on hand. Enjoy!

Arc 1: A Wheel in the Woods

Prologue: Welcome to the Universe: Idk, establishing a bunch of behinds the scene shit particularly with Homeworld I guess

Chapter 1: Back to the Falls: Reunion, everyone coming back to Gravity Falls and meeting up again

Chapter 2: Journal 4: Dipper starts writing his own journal (Ford probs gives him a blank one) ala what the end of Journal 3 implies

Chapter 3: Prior Engagement: Soos and Melody get engaged?? I think?

Chapter 4: Gravity Falls Noir: A Noir mystery story idk about what tho, mostly for fun

Chapter 5: Film Festival: Everyone teams up to make short films for a film festival

Chapter 6: Normal Kideon: Gideon (now reformed) asks the MK's help in teaching him how to not be a fucking little meglomaniac

Chapter 7: Techromancy: Something featuring Ford and Fiddleford and Peridot idk what

Chapter 8: Speed Demon: Zoom makes her triumphant return

Chapter 9: Twenty Zodiac Tales (temp): Very short stories featuring all the zodiac characters

Chapter 10: A Wheel in the Woods: The gang fucking discovers that goddamn triangle's statue and they're all fuckin scared

Chapter 10: Trust No One: Idk Bill gets freed somehow but he's not as powerful as he used to be

Arc 2: That Will Be All

Chapter 11: Fusion Foretold: This one was gonna be fun! So a group of magical creatures, pixies I think, saw Stonipbel fighting during Weirdmageddon the previous summer and believe them to be a prophecised hero, without knowing they're just four kids in a tall trenchcoat. Hijinks ensue

Chapter 12: Back Into the Bunker: Return to the bunker, this time with Ford and Fiddleford, basically a flashback on how Rose and the Gems helped them build it

Chapter 13: Summer Snowfall: Fuckin snows in Gravity Falls, its basically just swinter iidk winter hijinks

Chapter 14: Monster Shack: Return of the Monster Falls designs idk how I just wanted to see them again, would have probs featured Monster Stevonnie, Maven, and Stepper bc im obsessed

Chapter 15: Revenge Tour: Stan and Amethyst up to illegal hijinks again, this time roping Wendy and mabel Lapis in?

Chapter 16: A Shoulder to Cry On: Steven/Pacifica fusion, Connie and Dipper are jealous little shits

Chapter 17: A Pines Bros Mystery: Flashback chapter adapting the chapter of the same name from Lost Legends focusing on the young Stan Twins

Chapter 18: Steven's Dream: Same as the show, the gang goes to fucking Korea I guess (said gang including all four of the Pines)

Chapter 19: Adventures in Light Distortion: More or less the same as canon

Chapter 20: Gem Heist: Hinjinks in the zoo, the zoomans also think stan and ford are hot along with greg imo deadass they're right

Chapter 20: That Will Be All: same as canon this time featuring Stonemason foreshadowing

Arc 3: Wanted

Chapter 21: The New Crystal Gems (temp): would have had a name change, same as the ep but featuring Pacifica, Wendy, Soos, and Fiddleford filling in for the Pines, hijinks ensue

Chapter 22: Room for Ruby: Fuckin little shit comes to earth, only Stan and Lapis are able to tell she's sus as fuck

Chapter 23: Tie the Knot: I think this was when Soos and Melody were gonna get married???? Yeah UF2 was gonna have 2 weddings lol

Chapter 24: Alternate Ending: Same as the ep, Steven imagining what it would be like if he did have a sister bc he's a lil jealous of Dipper and Mabel's dynamic

Chapter 25: Alone in the Woods: Something Dipper and Lapis related??? idk

Chapter 26: Doug Out: Same as the show more or less, Aquamarine and Topaz fuckiin around

Chapter 27: Brotherly Shove: Stan and Ford focused, probs would have resulted in them both getting captured by Aqua and Topz

Chapter 28: Are You My Dad: Same as the show, more GF characters captured alongside the SU characters

Chapter 29: I Am My Mom: Same as canon, but with Dipper and Mabel getting taken to Homeworld with Steven and Lars, would have also included Stuck Together

Chapter 30: The Trial: Same as canon, more implications of Rose being a Shady Bitch who worked with Bill in the past; ends with Dipper pulling a self sacrifice essentially so Steven and Mabel can escape, thus officially kickstarting the Stonemason arc

Chapter 30: Wanted: Mabel and Steven desperately trying to find a way to save Dipper, Lars fucking dies, Maven maybe shows up? The kiddos go home and break the bad news that they're now one short oop

Arc 4: Stonemason Unmasked

Chapter 31: Within Without: Aftermath of the Wanted arc, Pines family is a fucking mess, not even knowing if Dipper is still fucking alive; Steven is a guilt ridden disaster

Chapter 32: Gemcation: The gems take everyone on a trip to try and both cool down and strategize; Stan and Ford get into a fight bc they're stressed, everything is bad

Chapter 33: Kevin Party: More or less same but Kevin wants Stevonnie, Maven, and Stepper at his party (lol kinda impossible for that last one atm imo); Mabel runs into Gabe Bensen at the party and tells him to fuck off, feeling guilt once again for the events of Sock Opera especially now that Dipper is gone

Chapter 34: Shipping and Handling: I think this was gonna focus on Pacifica's feelings about Dipper being missing? Was probs gonna be sad as fuck tbh this entire arc was

Chapter 35: Lars of the Stars: Same but with Mabel trying to convince Lars and the Off Colors to take them back to Homeworld so they can look for Dipper; they don't get far before Emerald attacks tho

Chapter 36: Jungle Moon: Same as before but this time it has a subplot with Mabel being lost on her own on the Jungle Moon, and her first encounter with Stonemason (she doesn't realize who he is yet)

Chapter 36: Sweater Sewing: Gang is back on earth, more focused on Mabel's huge well of emotions about missing Dipper, writing him letters so she can fill him in on everything once they find him/her doubting if they will

Chapter 37: Mindless Education: All our remaining MK have Angst for days and fusion aint gonna help them work through it this time, basically, the MK aren't complete with Dipper ahahah

Chapter 38: The Assassin: Stonemason officially arrives in Gravity Falls and fights the Gems (they still dont know who he is yet)

Chapter 39: The Mask: Second encounter with Stonemason, ends with the dramatic face reveal ahahaha

Chapter 40: Stonemason Unmasked (p1 and p2): deadass just retelling how Dipper wound up as Stonemason in full, introduces Amber and shows how he lost his arm, was conditioned/brainwashed, etc. Was gonna be told as a series of vingette scenes

Arc 5: Break the Chain

Chapter 41: Show Yourself: Reactions to Stonemason's real identity, failed attempts from the Pines and the Gems to basically break Dipper out of the brainwashing I guess

Chapter 42: Deep Cut: Outright fucking war between the Stans and the Gems basically with the Stans blaming the Gems for what's happened to Dipper and Steven and Mabel trying their best to get them to reconcile and work together

Chapter 42: Lullaby: Probs Stonemason focused, showing that Dipper is still in there and is trying to break free but cant bc of YD's conditioning

Chapter 43: Puppet Strings: Bill fuckin returns after like 40 chapters, absolutely taking advantage of this fucked up situation to try and broker a deal with Steven. it doesn't work. Yet

Chapter 44: Crash and Burn: Stonemason attacks Gravity Falls directly, without the mask which will have huge repercussions later

Chapter 45: Forever Together: Maven focused; they go off on their own to try and track down Stonemason, probably having an emotional breakdown or two along the way

Chapter 46: Don't Let Go: Possibly Lapis focused??? How the whole Stonemason thing is impacting her (not well)

Chapter 47: Burnout: Everyone fucking just hits rock bottom unsure of what the fuck to do

Chapter 48: A Final Farewell: Essentially that oneshot I wrote that one time, Amber sending the Gems and Pines a message from Dipper that encourages them to keep going

Chapter 49: Hide and Seek: The gang finally captures Stonemason and restrains him but they have no fucking idea how to help him

Chapter 50: Find the Key: Potentially calls back to both Dreamscaperers and RMD, with Steven and Mabel going inside Stonemason's mind to save Dipper

Chapter 50: Break the Chain: They fight Stonemason in there, break Dipper free, and he's back yay! but he's a lil fucked up actually lol

Arc 6: Rise and Fall and Rise Again

Chapter 51: Yes, My Diamond: Aftermath of Dipper struggling to fully break out of the conditioning ahaha angst city babyes

Chapter 52: The Golden Rule: I have no fucking clue something Stonemason related I guess, maybe the reveal that he's still runnin around inside of Dipper's mind and isnt actually gone like everyone thinks he is

Chapter 53: Blackout: Also don't know about this one, I guess its like emotional reconcilation from other characters?

Chapter 54: Your Mother and Mine: Finally getting back to SU eps, learning about how Rose started the war

Chapter 55: Pool Hopping: Garnet has even more angst bc boy howdy she did not see any of this Stonemason shit happening and she is hella guilty about it but at least she adopts a cat imo

Chapter 56: Raising the Barn: Lapis wants to leave now that Dipper is back, Dipper begs her to take him with her so YD won't find him and control him again; she says she's going to but doesn't imo fuckin ruins her relationship with her son nice going idiot

Chapter 57: Legend of the Dragowl: Dipper sad about his mom leaving, basically finds a cool dragon/owl hybrid in the woods and its basically HTTYD from there as that becomes his pet (names her Luna, she's cool)

Chapter 58: Save the Light: Adaptation of the SU game, Hessonite (who was involved in the Stonemason process) comes to earth and wooo boy everyone wants to beat her shit in

Chapter 59: Knock, Knock: Something something Bill I think? I have no fucking idea

Chapter 60: Rise and Fall: Imma level with yall i Have no fucking idea what this arc ender was gonna be; probs more Dipper angst? That sounds about right.

Chapter 60: And Rise Again: ^^^ Ditto

Arc 7: Dimensional Duel

Chapter 61: One Step Forward, Two Steps Back: Stepper, my sweet fusion son, returns after being away for so long as Steven tries helping Dipper recover emotionally but oh boy it doesnt work

Chapter 62: Alone Forever: Something else having to do with Stepper, idk what

Chapter 63: Rifts and Memories: More Stepper bc we can never get enough, probs plenty of RMD callbacks

Chapter 64: Open the Door: Ok yeah this one was def Bill making his full comeback, possibly using Steven as a pawn

Chapter 65: Twinning: This was an AU chapter but I honestly couldnt fucking tell you which one imo

Chapter 66: The Home in Homeworld: This was supposed to be the Crystal Falls AU chapter but then I swapped it over to UF itself and then also never wrote it so this is just redundant

Chapter 67: Mother Knows Best: Water Mom AU! Makes Dipper feel even worse about his Lapis being a fucking negligent runaway!

Chapter 68: The New Mystery Kids: Time travel into the MK2 future, old MK meets new MK its very cute and wholesome

Chapter 69: The One Who Watches: Axolotl introduction, idk what else besides that

Chapter 70: Portholes: AUs collide, basically a bunch of various AU characters from all the AUs we've seen fuckin Interacting

Chapter 70: Dimensional Duel: More of that ^^^ But there's fighting involved??? They all beat the shit out of Bill???

Arc 8: Change Your Mind

Chapter 71: Can't Go Back: They find Lapis on the moon, her and Dipper fight bc what else are they gonna do; Lapis still doesn't go home oop deadbeat mom over here

Chapter 72: A Single Pale Rose: Pink Diamond reveal and also the reveal of the deal Rose made with Bill during the war for her Gem

Chapter 73: Now We're Only Falling Apart: Reactions to the reveal; basically the same as canon as we learn more about Pink becoming Rose

Chapter 74: Reconnect the Chain: Stonemason (who's still in Dipper's head) and Dipper decide to reconcile their differences bc they're mad as fuck that they went through all this bullshit for nothing and decide they're gonna allign to a mutal goal: shatter all the remaining diamonds (except steven for obvious reasons)

Chapter 75: The Question: Rupphire engagement, cutie pies

Chapter 76: Made of Honor: Bismuth angst, fully bringing her back into the CGs (remember she gets unbubbled during Weirdmageddon but she keeps her distance from the CGs out of shame)

Chapter 77: Reunited: Rupphire wedding; Blue and Yellow come to Earth, big fuckin battle and they discover who Steven is

Chapter 78: Legs from Here to Homeworld: Shit awkward as fuck bc the Pines wanna fucking mutally murder Yellow for obvious reasons lol otherwise same as canon

Chapter 78: Familiar: Steven angst with a side of Dipper and Stonemason angst ahaha

Chapter 79: Together Alone: Stonipbel at the party, cute until it isn't; fucking blaze through Escapsim bc that episode sucks

Chapter 80: Battle of Heart and Mind: Dipper/Stonemason try and spectacularly fail to shatter Yellow, the others find out about his plans and are mix of semi supportive (the rest of his family) and not supportive at all (Steven bc he wants to heal the corrupted gems and that cant happen without Yellow) (so basically we get a fight between Dipper and Steven hahaha oh no where have we seen that before)

Chapter 80: Change Your Mind: Confrontation against White, even more dramatic than the actual episode if you can believe it

Arc 9: Ursa Major

Chapter 81: Back Then: Basically adjustment to the post CYM status quo, corrupted Gems are being healed and the MK all finally feel somewhat emotionally OK but there's still an arc left of this shit sooo

Chapter 82: Meet the Pines: Pines parents arrive in Gravity Falls for a surprise visit and are shocked to see what utter hell their kids have gone through; they ultimately decide to let them stay though when they realize just how happy their kids are here despite everything

Chapter 83: The Call: Bill fuckin around one more time, plotting to fuckin just destroy everything out of sheer rage alone; something something Axolotl

Chapter 84: The Unknown: I dont fucking know msot of my plans for UF2's final arc are very hazy

Chapter 85: Without Within: Dipper trying to find a way to make Stonemason his own person bc they've become friends?

Chapter 86: Glow Gem: Something to do with Steven idk what though

Chapter 87: Encore: I dont fucking know

Chapter 88: Sixty Degrees Come in Threes: Was gonna be Bill's backstory until Book of Bill came along and made me look stupid

Chapter 89: The Axolotl's Chosen: So in the Adventures in the Multiverse chapters of UF, the oracle tells Ford that the Axolotl has a "chosen one" that'll take Bill out once and for all and impliies it to be him but it aint lol its Dipper bc this kid hasnt been through enough already fuck

Chapter 90: Ursa Minor: Something something remnant trauma Dipper has not just from the Stonemason thing but shit Bill did to him like RMD and Sock Opera but still deciding to fucking end that motherfucker anyway

Chapter 90: Ursa Major: MK vs. Bill you know how it goes

Chapter 90: Polaris: That stupid motherfucking triangle finally dies for good

Epilogue 1: Mystery and Magic: Cool down from the climax, lots of cute interactions and character moments

Epilogue 2: Of Pines and Gems: Peaceful final resolution, conclusions, foreshadowing to the Movie probs with a scene hinting at Spinel idk

ABOUT THE HUMAN ZOO

Been rewatching SU, and you know whats the most horrifying thing about the human zoo?

The way gems have just, PERFECTED in such a way the care of humans. From diet, hygiene, resting time, playing time, and even choosing partners (so, selective breeding pretty much)

Just imagine the sheer dozens, hundreds, if not thousand of humans that died from random shit until the gems got all that figured out.

Because remember, this is not just an alien species figuring out what to feed another alien species.

This is an alien SENTIENT ROCK species figuring out how to keep an ORGANIC species functional.

Before Earth, gems didnt know what eating was. They didn't know what sleeping was.

You think they knew what starving was?? thirst?? illness?? THEY LITERALLY DONT KNOW WHAT ORGANS, OR EVEN BLOOD ARE/IS!!

The last generation of zoomans living perfect happy lives to the point they never encountered the very concept of being hurt speaks of so, SO much trial and error.

not reblogging cause this is that white girl that caused all that discourse around the sayhername hash tag, but I wanted to make a response. like obviously she ra and su are for kids but if you're gonna tackle heavy subjects like war and colonialism which all these shows do explicitly, it's a little jarring when the end result is...singing songs and open arms. Like atla had a lotta problems in regards to the narrative views of actions by victims of said colonialism (hama, jet, etc.) But at least in the end ozai was unquestionably the bad guy and treated as such. aang didn't kill him but he was in the end dethroned and imprisoned for his numerous war crimes (high key iroh should've been too, but that would've required an entire story rewrite). In su, the diamonds killed their own kind for eons and even planned to destroy earth. Blue Diamond had a human zoo and this was supposed to be seen as 'cute'. They were literally called Zoomans! Like no Steven himself shouldn't have shattered the diamonds cause no kid should have blood on their hands but idk why in the entire episode of Bismuth's introduction we were suppose to be scared of her and view her as incorrect when the Diamonds literally killed all of her comrades save for the crystal gems. like the diamonds were reformed and now use their powers for 'good' but whose to say that can't change.

Tbh even people crying about the human zoo in SU feels a bit overdramatic to me, while yes human zoos were a very unfortunate real life thing it’s quite obvious that the show only looked at it from a „aliens who treat humans like funny critters” perspective which in itself is not unthinkable. Maybe only criticism I have about it that it was a bit Weird that most humans there were also POC but well SU has always been diverse with bg characters

The artist who designed the zoomans is black. A lot of the background characters he draws tend to be POC. It would have been weirder to break form and instead make all of the zoomans white because it would show the writers were indeed actually thinking about that aspect as it would be the only crowd shot with primarily white people.

Based on the timeline the original humans were kidnapped, it’s also very possible it was from a time before white people were even commonplace. The show is vague on when in human history the gems arrived to take over, but it was likely before written history as most humans don’t seem to have a concept of the invasion.

i hate that people disregarded all su criticism as "taking a children's show too seriously" as if the zoomans aren't. like. the zoomans. & now it seems to be expected for everyone to just not take issue with su at all

I'm rewatching SU and I'm in season 4, The Zoo, and I'm laughing at how aro-ish the scenario is where Greg rejects all the zoomans

Obviously, Greg is not aro. The zoomans are alright, I'm not trying to make fun at them or what they know in their zoo world. But it just made me laugh really hard and reminded me of, well, life lol

Zoomans’ Return

"This is what you wear, Stevann?"

       Y-6 gazed intently at his leather-clad arm, wiggling his fingers experimentally.

       "Yeah! Well— not me, personally," Steven explained. "That's the sort of stuff cool guys wear. It's called a jacket."

       "Jaacket," Y-6 repeated carefully, and his face lit up. "Jaacket! Yes! I like it! But what is a 'cool guys'?"

       "Can I wear what you have, Gareg?"

       Steven turned and found J-10 standing tall in a pink dress. Connie looked helpless beside her.

       Greg visibly coloured. "Oh, this? This is— this is old man stuff!"

       "Dad!" Steven cried stubbornly. "You're not old!"

       "Please, Gareg?" J-10 pushed innocently. "I like your calothes!"

       She enunciated the "th" strangely, like a surprised toddler.

       Greg took a step back. "Well, not these but— I'm sure we can find you your own!"

       "Yes!" J-10 looked pleased.

       Across the store, U-12 was spinning in her new sundress. She stumbled and sent a potted fern crashing to the floor.

       "Ah— I'll get it!" Connie cried, and she dashed over to help the dark girl up.

       When Steven turned back around, he noticed L-5 (a slender, chestnut-haired youth) by the dressing rooms. Kiki was helping him fit a pair of heeled thigh-length boots on. As she zipped them up for him, he looked incredibly pleased — and then he wobbled and promptly fell on top of her.

       After the healing of the corrupted Gems, Steven had approached Yellow and Blue and requested the return of the captive humans. Though Blue was hesitant, Yellow readily agreed, and a few days later, Steven awoke to find the entire Zoo hovering over the town.

       Of course, as quickly as he could manage, he hid the Zoo in the Strawberry Battlefields and since then had tasked himself with helping the Zoomans adjust to the new developed Earth. The concealing of such an addition to the town could not be kept a secret, and so he had first told a select few citizens about the situation and, inevitably, enlisted some much-needed help.

       And it was working, for the most part.

       The first thing on the agenda had been to dress the Zoomans appropriately, and so far Kiki, Jenny, Buck, Sour Cream, Sadie, Peedee and Ronaldo had turned up at the store to assist them. According to Sadie, Lars wouldn't be coming, as he wanted some time to spend with his family since his return.

      Steven felt a hand on his arm and turned to see Connie.

       "The store's in shambles," she sighed, wincing at another clatter that echoed from behind. "We'll have to come back later and help clean up."

       "And replace some things, too, by the looks of it," Greg put in, rubbing his neck.

       At that moment, J-10 burst out from behind a changing curtain, followed by an exhausted-looking Jenny. "Gareg, look! I am wearing your calothes!"

       Greg flushed and hurriedly averted his gaze. The poor girl had haphazardly thrown on a much-too-big singlet (whose collar dipped dangerously low), and a pair of shorts that barely clung to her hips. Jenny sighed. "I dunno, I think you'd look way better in a dress, JJ."

       "I like these," J-10 replied stubbornly, and folded her arms (thankfully) over her cleavage.

       "I mean, yeah, but what about Boots over there?" The darker girl jerked her head at L-5. "Dude chose his own clothes and he's lookin' stylin'!"

       J-10 blinked.

       "Hey," Steven said gently, and took her hand. She looked down at him inquisitively. "You can wear whatever you like, but these clothes don't seem to fit you. Let's find some in your size."

       "Of course!" she beamed.

       "Hey, Steven." Buck's deadpan voice made him turn around. Standing a head taller beside the teen was F-3, grinning under his fringe of blonde hair and clad in trackpants, a long-sleeved shirt and a puffer vest. "I think my man's ready."

       "Steven!" he whipped around and was met with Sour Cream, with what looked like a dark-haired clone beside him.

       The boy looked helplessly between them all, blinking furiously. There was way too much going on.

       Connie seemed to notice his distress and took his hand. "Hey, I think they look happy. That's two more people crossed off our list. That leaves just. . . thirty-three more. If we spend a few minutes on each person, we should be done by half-past."

       Steven nodded helplessly.

       "C'mon," the girl smiled, and appealed to Greg. "Mr Universe, could you please take these two to the Pizzas'? I heard Mr Fryman's overloaded with customers today."

       "Yeah— okay, sure thing." He sounded uncertain, but ushered them off anyways.

       "Buck, Sour Cream, did you get the prices on those?" Connie asked.

       They both handed her some crumpled slips of paper.

       "Perfect," she smiled, "Thank you! Could you help a couple of others in the meantime?"

       "Guys!" Steven called. All the Zoomans dropped what they were doing and turned to look at him. "We've got ten more minutes! Let's pick our clothes and go eat!"

       They all gazed at him blankly.

       "Ten more minets?" Y-6 asked interestedly.

       Steven sighed. "If you're not happy with your clothes, we all have one more change and then we're leaving."

       "I'm happy with my calothes," Y-6 replied cheerfully.

       "Okay, good." Steven grabbed his hand and led him to the door, pointing outside. "See that shop over there? Can you go there for me? Just knock on the door and they'll let you in."

       "Knock?"

       Steven rapped his knuckles on the glass shopfront in demonstration.

       Once Y-6 made it safely across the boardwalk Steven ran back and returned to the kerfuffle. "Kiki, how's L-5?"

       "Hey, Steven! I think he's happy," she smiled, and looked up at him from her position on the floor. "How ya feelin', L-5?"

       Her only response was a delighted grin.

       "Alright. Could you please take him to your shop?"

       "Sure thing."

Thirty-one Zoomans and $3,000 later, they were all gathered at Fish Stew Pizza.

       "Will we be eating now, Stevann?" a slight red-haired girl asked.

       The doorbell tinkled and Steven turned to find a band of Zoomans walking back out through the front door.

       "Ah— yeah," he said quickly, "But in here."

       The girl looked confused. "How?"

       He never answered as he hurried outside after the others.

       The Zoomans were congregated around a pot plant a few paces away. He rushed over.

       "What are you guys doing?"

       "Waiting for the fruit," J-10 replied simply, her eyes on the plant.

       "Um— fruit doesn't just . . . appear, like that, here."

       An elderly lady standing at the edge of the circle looked confused. "It doesn't? Then how do you know what to eat?"

       "We choose."

       "How do you know when to eat?"

       "Uh, well . . . we usually eat three times a day. When we wake up, in the middle of the day, and before we go to bed. We don't have to, though. And we can just eat whenever we like in between meals."

       Everyone looked confused except for the tall, muscular lady on the far side of the circle.

       "Whenever we like?" she said, excitement palpable.

       Steven nodded and turned back to the shop. "Yeah. But right now, we're getting food inside. C'mon."

The beach was aswarm with Zoomans.

       Steven had only just managed to convince them all to follow him home before "play".  As soon as their toes hit the sand, the beach was covered in rolling bodies, much to Steven's exasperation and Pearl's detriment.

       "We can't have them all here!" she cried, and whirled to Steven. "Steven! Didn't you put the Zoo in the Battlefields?"

       "Well, yeah, but . . . I just decided to take them into town today."

       "What are they doing?" the Gem pushed, distressed. "Are they hurt? Are they sick?"

       Connie stepped up and laid a reassuring hand on her arm. "It's okay, Pearl. They're just playing."

       "'Playing'?" Pearl asked in disbelief.

       Y-6 rolled onto his back, stretching his hands toward the sky, and giggled delightedly.

       "It's . . . part of their old routine," Connie offered, now shooting Steven a discerned look.

       Pearl sighed. "Okay, just . . . please clear them out before nightfall." With one last disconcerted look at the Zoomans, she headed back to the Temple.

       Steven cleared his throat. "Okay, everyone. . . we all need to have a shower."

       Pearl shrieked. "To the Zoo, Steven!"

       With no little effort, Steven and Connie persuaded Pearl to let them in provided they stayed seated in the living room and showered one at a time. Steven relented to B-4's begging and let her in to wash first.

       Between them, Steven and Connie had decided that they would take care of the members of their own sexes respectively, and so when the Connie ushered the dark lady into the bathroom, Steven waited outside the door, keeping an eye on everyone else.

       From inside came the pattering of water and then a cry.

       "B-4, no! Your clothes! You have to take off your clothes!"

       "Why?" came the soft, curious voice.

       "You wear these in the daytime! You don't want them wet!"

       Thirty arduous minutes later and Connie stumbled out with a redressed B-4, whose wet, waist-length hair clung to her back.

       "Steven, this will take hours," Connie wailed. "We won't get any sleep if we let them all shower tonight!"

       "Ooooooooo."

       The chorus made them turn. All thirty-six Zoomans were pressed against the front windows, gazing outside.

       "What is that?" one of them murmured.

       "It looks like a big splash from the sky," another whispered.

       Gingerly, Steven pushed his way to the front and squinted into the darkening night. He let out a gasp of realisation. "It's raining."

       "Raining?" J-10 asked.

       "Everyone, let's go outside!" Steven called, and opened the door. "You can all get clean in the rain!"

       Without reservation the Zoomans pounced at the idea and all filed excitedly outside. There was a collective gasp as the rain kissed their skin.

       "Rain! Rain!" J-10 cried happily, prancing about on the deck. F-3 and U-12, hand-in-hand, rushed down the stairs and onto the wet sand. The rest of the Zoomans soon followed.

       Steven and Connie stood on the balcony, entranced, watching the happy people. Some of them even took off towards the water, diving and pushing each other into the waves. Steven sagged against the railing, exhausted.

       "I never thought this would be so much work," he groaned.

       Connie set a hand on his back. "Hey, I think we did great today, Steven," she cooed. "Look how happy they are. And they're adjusting so fast! I think they'll be ready to meld in with town life in no time."

       He shot her a tired smile. "You think so?"

       She crouched down next to him and gave him a hug. "I know so."

Unfortunately, there were still corrupted Gems roaming the Earth, and Stevonnie and the Gems had agreed to continue their missions until every once had been brought back and healed.

       Upon their return from yet another search, Stevonnie separated and their boy counterpart decided to venture into town.

       His first stop was the Big Donut. Y-6 had taken up a job there two weeks earlier upon Lars' resignation for hopes to open his own bakery.

       When he walked through the door, he found a very cheery Y-6 handing a couple a bag of doughnuts. Upon seeing the boy, the new cashier waved.

       "Steven!"

       His language was definitely improving, but he hadn't quite mastered it yet.

       "How's everything going?" the boy asked, sauntering up to the counter.

       "Wonderful! Would you like a doughnut?"

       "Ah— actually, yes please." He slid a bill over. "Surprise me."

       Y-6 disappeared beneath the counter.

       Confused, Steven leaned over, and yelped when the youth shot upright again. "Surprise!"

       For a moment, Steven could only stare, and then he broke into helpless chuckles, eyes streaming.

       "Did I surprise you, Steven?" the youth grinned.

       Steven wiped at his eyes, still giggling. "Yeah, I guess you did. About the doughnuts — I meant, please get me whatever you want, not—" he stifled his laughter with his hand.

       "Oh!" Y-6 grabbed a bag and stepped behind the display cabinet. When he reached inside, he glanced at Steven and cocked his head.

       "What is that on your arm?"

       Steven checked himself. "Oh— right. That's just a cut."

       "A cut," Y-6 repeated. "Isn't a cut for paper? Paper doesn't turn red when you cut it."

       "That red stuff's just blood."

       "Blood?" he said interestedly.

       "Yeah, when you hurt your body, sometimes it bleeds a bit. I'm okay, though."

       A chittering sound erupted from behind the counter.

       Steven craned his neck. "What's that?"

       "Oh!" Y-6 slipped two doughnuts into the bag and stood, grinning. "This is Steven Again!"

       He made a motion with his hand and a small, humanoid figure waddled its way around the cabinet.

       "A Watermelon—?" Steven glanced at Y-6, then at the creature, and back at Y-6. "How'd you—? Where'd you find him— it?"

       "He was on the beach!" Y-6 declared, and set the bag on the counter, taking up the dollar notes. "He is my friend. He is a very good helper."

       "Yeah. . ."

       Steven glanced at the figure uncertainly. It only gave him a friendly wave.

       "Don't be afraid, he won't hurt you."

       "I know, I know. . . it's just. . . he is friendly, right? He's never attacked anyone?"

       Y-6 cocked his head. "'Attacked'?"

       "Hm. . ." He stole one last glance at the creature. "Just . . . make sure he doesn't hurt anybody, okay?"

       "Of course!" The new cashier deposited the money and waved. "I hope you enjoy your doughnuts, Steven!"

       "Thank you! I will," he assured him, and returned the wave as he pushed open the door. Stepping out into the light breeze, he turned towards the town, and checked his phone. 12:00pm.

       He'd better get a move on. Surely the others had picked up jobs just as quickly — and with thirty-five more Zoomans to visit, it was sure to take some time.

S-8x4 the horned hybrid child

Going back to this old post, I've decided to revamp her entirely.

one thing; I'm scrapping the name "Samantha" from her entirely. for obvious reasons. instead, she goes by "little S".

but! I'm keeping to the other info: S-8x4 is still a small 10-11 year old child, and is the daughter of a formerly corrupt gem and a former "Zooman" (hence her number-esc name)

her father named her after her mother's gem cut.

Should go without saying, but the horns are a result of her mother's post corruption scars. they are mildly inconvenient, but she doesn't want to get rid of them due to them being her mother's and it wouldn't feel right.

Her cheerful, happy nature stems from her Zooman heritage, but she is capable of acknowledging when things are serious.

She likes to give flowers to others to new friends and just other people in general. to her flowers are the best cure to feeling "not good".

her tail stems from a shape-shift malfunction; she once tried to shape-shift into a bull [in the honor of her gemstone's zodiac: Taurus], but due experiencing a large amount of pain trying to do so, she was only able to form the tail. (and refuses to shape shift it away, due to fearing the pain.)

The Scavenger Hunt Part 1

Steven was trying to enjoy his birthday. But a certain someone that he invited didn’t want to participate. It was very frustrating for him, especially with the rest of his family trying to get him to stop trying to help everyone else and just enjoy himself for a bit. But he couldn’t help it. Helping others was his whole life, if someone else wasn’t as happy as he was then he couldn’t be happy until they were happy.

Blue and Yellow Pearl invited him over so they could share something important with him. “I think it’s called a... scavenger hunt?” Yellow Pearl said in an uncertain manner.

“You follow the clues to find the surprises until the end where there’s some kind of big reveal,” added Blue Pearl.

“Look, guys,” said Steven. “Thanks for everything, and I really appreciate all the kind gestures, but I’ve already got a renovated house, that pocket telescope Connie gave me, and that party suit from you two, so I don’t really need any more gifts. I just want everyone to have a good time.”

“But you deserve some fun too, Steven,” said Amethyst, who was nearby. “Would it hurt to be spoiled a bit for just one day?”

“I mean, it might...” Steven uttered sheepishly. “Dad often talks about how-”

“Dude, forget it!”

“Besides, we’ve already set everything up,” Yellow Pearl stated. “Everything would go to waste if you said no.”

Steven sighed. “Alright, fine, I’ll humor you this once. But it’s just so we can have fun, got it?”

Blue Pearl nodded. “You may want to get into your adventure appearance modifiers for this one, Steven.”

Connie and decided to join the Pearls along with Amethyst and Steven for this hunt. However the others were rather partied out and opted instead to collapse on the sofas in the expanded house and just chat.

Steven looked at his first clue:

A carrier the shape of a sweet

Steven was confused. “Which street? There are lots of them in Beach City.”

Yellow Pearl blushed. “Uh, we hadn’t really thought that out.”

“Alright, just follow us then,” said Blue Pearl.

“Not much of a hunt then now,” Amethyst grumbled.

“Come on guys,” said Connie. “They’re trying to do they’re best. We should have fun regardless.”

Steven frowned. “I just don’t get it. They’re up to something and I don’t understand why they would do all this for me.”

The three of them followed the Pearls all the way to the end of Beach City, right around where the water tower was. Steven was quite surprised to say the least, not by the gift itself, but by who was presenting it.

“FAMETHYST!?!?” exclaimed Steven and Amethyst at the same time.

“So these are all the gems you met up in space when you were rescuing your dad?” asked Connie.

“Only a few of us,” said Amethyst 8XJ (the Amethyst with the curl) “The rest of the humans and quartzes are back at the zoo. J-10 and Y-6 just decided to tag along. We’ve even been able to unbubble the Rose Quartzes and cruise the galaxy as we please.”

“Woah!” exclaimed Amethyst. “How did you guys convince Holly Blue?”

“We didn’t,” stated Skinny Jasper.

“She got fired and reassigned somewhere else!” shouted Carnelian. “We’re rid of her for good!”

“Ste-van! We were told to give this to you,” said Y-6. He handed him a strange looking drawstring bag. “Happy fifteenth birthday!”

“It’s an ice cream cone drawstring bag from the Wacky Sacks Supply Company!” Steven looked puzzled. “But where did you get this? How did the Pearls get you guys in on this thing?”

8XJ shrugged. “We dunno. We were just doing our jobs and then Holly Blue Agate got a notice of termination. With her out of the way, we figured that we could finally do as we please, take joyrides, relax in the pools, explore other planets, and just hang out!”

“We kinda just bumped into the Pearls while exploring Earth a little bit, and then we had this brilliant idea to say hello to all of you!” said Carnelian.

The Amethysts including 8XM all went into for a group hug. “Whatever the case may be, it sure is nice to see you guys again,” she said. “Feel free to drop by the temple anytime! I could even show you my room and all the junk I’ve collected over thousands of years of living here!”

“Steven, I think it see a note attached to the bag,” said Connie. “It must be another clue!”

“Why don’t you do this one, Connie?” replied Steven.

“Well, okay. I do hope you get to do at least one though.”

The next clue you seek

Involves song, not speech

For under a stage on your way

Is a special recording

For a special day.

“This one is easy!” said Connie. “It’s gotta be the stage that they set up for special events like speeches, Beach-A-Palooza, and concerts!”

Steven was confused. “But they aren’t holding anything special in Beach City today. The stage would have to be folded up and put away somewhere.”

“Well, maybe we can just ask around,” Amethyst suggested. “Didn’t you want this to be a bit more of a challenge?”

However, it didn’t take that long. Since Sadie Killer and the Suspects often had to help set up, Sour Cream was able to point them in the direction of the abandoned warehouse where the stage parts were normally kept in storage. It only took about ten minutes of digging before they found a VHS tape with the words BIRTHDAY BALL BASH written on it.

When Steven found a TV to start the video however, the Pearls got quite flustered and fast forwarded the entire thing, obscuring the screen so that all Steven could hear was high pitched indiscernible lyrics.

“Hey! What gives?” Steven asked, frustrated.

“Eh heh heh...” muttered Yellow Pearl.

“This video was chock full of embarrassing and cringey moments,” Blue Pearl bluntly stated. “We’re doing you a favor by skipping the entire thing.”

“And here it is! The final clue!” interjected Yellow Pearl. “It’s at the end of all this awful footage!”

“Wait, seriously? It’s already the end!?!?” Amethyst blurted. “You guys are terrible at planning scavenger hunts!”

“Amethyst, don’t be rude!” snapped Steven. He turned to the Pearls. “I am really sorry about all of this, I know you’re trying your best.”

At the hill’s apex

Is where you’ll want to go next.

A spotlight will uncover

Your last gift concealed

And all shall be revealed.

“The lighthouse!” exclaimed Steven. “It is rather far from here on foot though.”

“That’s okay! We can just walk back leisurely,” said Connie. “Even if this whole thing was super easy, we can just take our time. It’s been a while since the two of us got a moment to just relax together anyway.”

“Well, I’m always up for long walks on the beach with my best friend,” Steven blushed contentedly. “I’m game!”

After spending about an hour trekking to the lighthouse, the two of them looked over the edge of the lighthouse by the telescope together. By that time, the sun was beginning to set.

““Wow...” Connie said. “I know that Beach City sunsets were beautiful, but I’ve never seen one from this view before...”

“Yeah...” Steven trailed off. The sunset’s glow lit up Connie’s face in sight a beautiful manner that he felt like he could just gaze into her eyes forever.

“Do you think we could stay up and watch the stars come out?” asked Connie. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to study them up close with this kind of telescope.”

Steven looked back and laughed. “I think if we did, the Pearls would get even more impatient. They’ve been trying to cheer me up, I think.” He slowly took Connie’s hand. “But if we may, I... I’d like to share this moment with you. We’ve been through so much together, and- and I don’t think we’ve had much time to make it official, but... will you be my girlfriend?”

“Oh! I didn’t think you’d ask-”

“You don’t wanna be my girlfriend?”

“No! I mean, yes! I mean, I didn’t think you would ask right here and right now, but yes. I would love to be your girlfriend.”

However, their moment was interrupted by cheering and shouting below.

“YEAH! WOO!”

“GO GET ‘ER!”

“I just can’t wait to help plan your wedding!” said Sapphire giddily.

“Wh-what!?” exclaimed Connie.

Both Steven and Sapphire looked very awkward. “Oh, sorry! I got so caught up in it that I must have been looking too far into the future...”

“WHAT!?”

“FORGET SHE SAID THAT!” shouted Ruby. “WE’RE JUST VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!”

“Hold up!” Steven called down to them. “First of all, I wasn’t proposing marriage, I just asked Connie to be my girlfriend! Second, what were you doing spying on us like that!? We were having a moment!”
