It was the worst day for Zoro’s heart as he learned his mate was kidnapped, marrying someone else, and perhaps never going to see him again. Taking his frustration on others was the only thing to keep himself from shading tears
Guess who rewatched Zou arc? 😭

Not sure if I’m going to explain this well but imagine an AU where people can see others eye colors the more they care about the person (because eyes are the window to the soul). The more they care, the more their eyes fill in with their actual color.
Luffy sees almost everyone’s true eye color after one friendly conversation, especially those who he helps. He realizes Zoro’s eyes are still gray after a few days, but he notices that the gray is precise and intentional. Luffy can see the slightly darkened patches mixing with the lighter colors almost immediately.
Zoro, on the other hand, rarely sees anyone’s eyes at their actual color. There are a few people who have gotten some light shades of color, but nobody at their real color. The last person’s eyes who he truly saw was Kuina’s, and he has no intention of adding to that list.
But he notices the slight shifts in his crew mates eyes as he spends more time with them. Luffy’s eyes grow darker every day, and Nami’s eventually start to turn a soft brown. Robin’s eyes immediately lighten to a sky blue after Enies Lobby. Chopper and Usopp’s eyes turn to a dark gray as they travel through Alabasta. But that damn cook’s eyes stay the neutral shade he saw with almost everyone he encountered before joining the Strawhats.
Until one day he wakes up from training and there are rice balls next to him, freshly made. He hadn’t remembered telling the cook about his enjoyment of rice balls. It must’ve been a lucky guess.
The next day, he gets rice balls again. And when he finally storms to see that damn cook, he’s met with crystal blue orbs staring back at him. Zoro suddenly lost his ability to curse and belittle, finally understanding why all of the crew secretly whisper about Sanji’s eyes when he’s not around.
Sanji, though, is frustrated. Zoros eyes are the first ones in his life he can’t see, and he’s angry. He knows this stupid swordsman. Zoro hates chocolate, but loves rice-even more so in ball form. His swords mean everything to him, and Sanji knows his exact routine every day.
He would never admit it, but Sanji did care about Zoro. He cared about everyone, except for people who were rude or hurt ladies. And while Zoro was brash and abrasive, he wasn’t rude. So why couldn’t Sanji see his eye color?
Finally he asks. There aren’t many people he can trust, but Robin will be honest with him. And she’s the least likely to make fun of him.
“Robin-Chan,” he starts, and she can hear how nervous he is. “Do you know what color Zoro’s eyes are?”
Robin stifles a laugh. “I’m surprised you can’t see them, Sanji. Do you really hate him that much?”
“No, I-!”
“They’re gray.” Robin said. “I thought there was something wrong with me too. But they’re just gray. Look a bit closer next time, and you’ll see they’re not quite the same shade they used to be.”
Sanji follows her advice, and subtly stares at Zoros eyes when he thinks the swordsman won’t notice.
“Do you mind?” A pink blush dusts across Zoro’s face when he realizes the cook is staring. “I’m trying to focus here.”
“Your eyes would be a shitty gray color, so nobody would know when they actually started caring about you!” Sanji’s cheeks were getting pink too, and both of them ignoring the other’s blush.
Zoro cocked an eyebrow. “Do you care about me, cook?”
“Like hell!”

little thing that's been on the brain lately is zosan idol au BUT it starts off as them meeting in a competition reality show to become idols.
sanji was actually in a group that flopped and he joined this competition for one last chance to prove that he's worthy of being an idol. he's good at this. one failed group can't define his career forever.
zoro has been a trainee for ten years and has never been picked to debut by his company. so he left that company and joined as an independent trainee with the fire in his eyes and an 'i will win no matter' what attitude.
two nineteen year olds ready and willing to do whatever it takes to debut, butting heads all the time in front of AND behind the cameras, and the audience EATS IT RIGHT UP. production doesnt have to do jack shit to provoke drama between them because it just HAPPENS so naturally and instinctively for them. ironically enough, zoro and sanji are the least edited among the trainees. their raw emotions and tenacity at wanting to become idols is better than whatever storyline the directors could come up with.
zoro's known more as a rapper but he shocks everyone during the position evaluation part of the show where he chose VOCALS and lo and behold... he and sanji chose the same fucking song. sanji was like 'theres no WAY that stupid marimo will choose a ballad love song haha i am Free i wont see his dumb face—wHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN ZORO CHOSE THE LOVE SONG????'

Merfolk zosan idea..
To which a group of pirates barge into the Baratie knowing that Zeff used to be a pirate, and that he’s more likely to take their request than most other people.
The request being the creation of a dish using a… special ingredient they found.
Naturally the request is refused, and the pirates are drawn out; but what are they supposed to do with the fish-man?

Zoro...and his chihuahuas? Like, for real?
(this made my day I'm not joking 😭)
Well, it's something I elaborated during the Sanjiweek. Before I wasn't fond of Modern AU, but I started to think about Sanji and Zoro in our modern world. And, silly idea after silly idea, I started to imagine Zoro with 3 chihuahuas instead of 3 swords. That's funny, a tall and really muscular man with three tiny cuty dogs ♥️
Of course, those chihuahuas are named : Enma, Wado and Kitetsu. They are Zoro's treasure, he has them with him everytime! He takes care of them, sometimes he dresses them up and makes them wear funny hats... He 's totally mad of his dogs!
Sanji prefers big dogs and he may have a Dobermann (with intact ears). He seems annoyed by the three little dogs but the truth is : he loves them and he shares with them small pieces of cheese or ham when he's cooking.
Watch out, those are really messy sketches 🤣🤣🤣

Zosan au? 🫠 Where 19yo Zoro fights a young Mihawk and gets that gnarly chest-scar. A healer takes care of him, but Zoro is an egoistic little shit, and turns on the healer as soon as he could move, and gets cursed into being a tiger who can't die (but can still get injured) and won't age, unless he finds someone who he'd die for.
The same year, Sanji was born.
After a few years Zoro manages to get caught by Germa for being strong and immortal, meets little Sanji in the cells. Zoro makes an impression on Sanji for being docile, and in turn Sanji makes an impression on Zoro for being kind, as the smol boi always shares his food.
They eventually flee Germa together and end up with Zeff. Sanji gives the tiger the name Marimo, because his fur color is the same as mossballs he saw in the book (and ofc he can't know his real name, because tigers can't talk). Marimo is a menace on the Baratie, as he can't walk around freely, in fear of Germa still searching for him (but not for Sanji), but somehow they manage. Marimo watches Sanji grow up and was there through all his highs and lows.
Then they eventually meet Luffy, and shortly after, Mihawk enters the scene, who recognizes Zoro. After the fight with Don Krieg, Zeff and Mihawk share a drink (old friends), and Mihawk tells Zeff all about Zoro. Mihawk doesn't know anything about the curse, but he just knows it's the green-haired swordsman from his youth, an actual human. Sanji was caught eavesdropping.
Zeff kicks Sanji out, along with his pet tiger, telling them to find a way to break the curse. They sail with Luffy. Luffy apparently understands tiger Zoro, as if he were human, even manages to talk Nami into buying swords for Zoro, and he actually fights with one in his mouth.
With time, Sanji starts to doubt what would happen if they really find a way to break the curse. If Marimo would stay or not. Luffy assures Sanji that it's fine, he's recruited the both of them after all, so Zoro will have to stay.
Eventually, Thriller Bark happens 🫠 Where Sanji is the first to offer his life, but Zoro still knocks him out, because he wanted to save Sanji.
The curse is broken.
(Whatever happens next, I leave to more skilled fanfic authors 👀)

Saw this TikTok about how in the olden days people could be saved from the gallows if someone married them and Zosanzo brain immediately fired up
Scénario 1 has noble Sanji desperate to escape an arranged marriage to Pudding, being dragged along to a public execution (his dad and siblings always seem to enjoy them a lot) and, when seeing how young and dashing the man walking to the execution block/noose/guillotine is, remembers this law (it’s droningly mumbled by the guy reading out from a scroll- everyone usually just tunes out the whole thing) and Sanji dramatically calls out that he’ll marry this man, to the shock of everyone in attendance. At least this way he kind of had a choice and he’s helping someone, he figures.
(Alternatively he came to that execution with the « I’m marrying the next person walking up » mentality)
Scénario 2 could have Sanji on death row- either as a now poor, escaped man who found Zeff as an adoptive father or as a noble who openly betrayed his family and is being punished for it. Either way Zoro, the town’s wealthy wine merchant’s son, could either fall in love at first sight or have been pining for Sanji all along and is now in a moral conundrum because of course he wants to save his life but he feels bad for « trapping » him in a marriage

thinking about some drawings of zoro/zosan I saw awhile back where Zoro nearly loses his other eye in battle and Sanji gives up one of his eyes to him. it's been stuck in my brain for a bit and I've been mulling an angsty/fluffy fic idea 'round my head at night. I might write a lil something but I wanna find that art/artist first so if anybody knows where I can find it again, hmu

Idea: Zosan figure Skater / hockey AU except instead of being an athlete, Sanji is an athletic nutritionist and licensed dietician who is recommended to Zoro by Luffy (hockey player)
Sanji still does kick boxing or whatever leg based fighting thing but for fun. Sanji does not skate (maybe Vinsmoke trauma?)
Their first interaction is Sanji doing a “what’s your normal eating habits” intake form and losing his ever loving SHIT that Zoro exclusively eats rice + chicken + brocoli
Moment when Zoro realizes his feelings? Immediately, as soon as sanji gives him even a little sass
Moment that makes sanji realize his feelings? Zoro teaching him how to skate (nearly falls on his ass, zoro catches him, cue blushing eye contact)
Unnecessary Conflict that gets them to confess: Sanji comes by the rink on a whim to watch Zoro practice, sees Zoro skating with Perona and misinterprets their on ice pairs skating chemistry for romantic chemistry. He later avoids Zoro outside of necessary interactions. when zoro asks him why he’s acting weird, Sanji confesses he feels awkward because he didn’t realize Zoro was seeing someone and that he’s embarrassed he was so unprofessional (flirty) in his interactions with Zoro. Cue Zoro “wait you were flirting with me” and “ I’m not like WITH perona! She’s my partner not my PARTNER.”

White Blood, Red Teeth
a story where Luffy is constantly found by his friends having overdoses. It's a terrible behavior that started after Ace's death and everyone thinks it's a horrible coping method and finally gets together to admit him to a rehabilitation clinic. It's against his will, of course, so he resists and has withdrawal attacks and it's so bad that he goes on a hunger strike and loses a huge amount of weight and subsequently ends up with deteriorating health. A year and a half later, finally, after all this, the clinic considers him rehabilitated, although he is still underweight and doesn't eat as much as he should, but everyone is sure that Luffy will never look for drugs again. They are wrong and less than forty-eight hours after being released from the clinic, Zoro and Sanji find Luffy having another overdose in the bathroom of the apartment the three share. This time, the two decide to take a more aggressive approach and go after Luffy's drug dealer. Luffy is always talking about the guy, whom he calls Torao, who supposedly helped him cope with Ace's death. Whenever asked what he's on, Luffy responds "Torao's white blood", which Zoro and Sanji assume is the name of some homemade drug or something. Whatever it is, this Torao guy, is clearly taking advantage of Luffy's grief. to make a profit, so they stop at the drug dealer's address, almost knocking down the door, ready to give this guy 'Torao' a good beating and deliver him directly into the hands of Luffy's grandfather, a half-crazy police officer. They are surprised when the person who answers the door is a guy who goes by the name Penguin, who, strangely enough, lets them in easily after discovering that they are Luffy's friends. The house is nice, clean, airy, comfortable and cozy, everything you don't expect from a drug dealer's house. The place looks practically sterile in a hospital kind of way, which makes sense when they are finally introduced to the infamous Torao, a tall, malnourished guy who walks around on an IV. They confront 'Torao', who introduces himself as actually being Trafalgar Law, about the drugs he has been giving Luffy and the effects it has on their friend and, strangely, are surprised when: Law says he has never given drugs a Luffy and b: Law is surprised and then irritated when he is told about the "Toraos white blood" thing. Law then sighs and surprisingly takes off his shirt and displays his torso, covered in deep, fresh-looking bites, and proceeds to explain the craziest story of all time: Vampires are real and Luffy was turned into one the day Ace died. Law found him, injured and starving, and saved his life. He then explains that he is sick, his blood was infected from a young age with amber lead and he was living on borrowed time, so he had no qualms about feeding Luffy his blood. But they were both taken by surprise by the fact that, every time Luffy fed on him, his condition unexpectedly improved. But Law had no idea that his blood caused Luffy to overdose. He knew that there seemed to be a factor that made him somewhat dependent and Luffy was always lethargic in the first few minutes after feeding, but he never thought that his blood was acting as a drug for Luffy's undead organism. That's why in the year and a half that Luffy simply disappeared, Law, and his friends, simply thought that the vampire had gotten tired of helping Law and had left. They had been surprised when, last night, Luffy appeared out of nowhere on their doorstep and promptly attacked Law, feeding on him until Law was barely able to stay awake. Furthermore, in the time that Luffy was gone, Law's condition simply deteriorated terribly and he was practically convinced that he wouldn't make it until the end of the year. And now, they have to find a way to balance Luffy's feeding so that Law can survive, but in such a way that Luffy doesn't suffer side effects either. Everything becomes a mess when Robin, a mysterious friend of Zoro, gets involved, announcing that in fact, Law has been cursed by a witch.
