Outburst4D is a cancelled Taito game from 1995. It was apparently shown off at a location test event but seems to have not been seen since. It also apparently was later used for the IDYA system (effectively one of those rides that have a screen and a moving seat iirc?) , a fate that also befell other cancelled Taito game City Diver. Seems similar to ANOTHER lost game, Cyber Sterra. Also, has one of my favourite soundtracks ever, released on the ZUNTATA RARE SELECTION Vol. 3 - S'WORKS SHU. FUTURE EXPRESS is the iconic one, even having a live version on Zuntata's Guten Talk album, but I'd also recommend Travelers In Asia.
Night Striker was one of my all-time favorite Mega CD games which was finally unlocked for international play officially through the Genesis Mini 2 in 2022. Since then, I've been trying to get the PlayStation 1 and Sega Saturn versions, which I finally managed to track down. The Saturn version of Night Striker (called Night Striker S) is pretty much identical to the original arcade. This version has a Saturn-only mode with new stages, an ending, and a CG Movie (only available on the Saturn release).
For those who don't know Night Striker is a futuristic shooter much in the same way as the 3D stages on Thunder Blade or Space Harrier but features a cyber-style car that would make James Bond get a stiffy. The idea of the game is pretty simple, just make it to the end of each level and blow away the boss then choose what stage you'd like to go to next in that good old traditional Taito/Darius way. These days Night Striker looks pretty dated, much more so than Space Harrier, Out Run, and all the other Sega-made sprite-based 3D games of the time. This is because the original arcade looked dated thanks to Taito's not-so-Hi-Tec hardware back then. Still, it's a great game that I'm sure will find a place in your Saturn gaming. I almost forgot to mention the music! Zuntata has done it again with some excellent music tracks!! Also, check out the blatant Terminator rip-off and Blade Runner-style city on the front cover.
