Osian: Possible Class Changes

I was so excited to see a copy of this in real life bc it's something I studied in art history. this is a book that was typeset and printed by hand using wooden blocks but every one of the characters was invented for the sake of the piece and does not correspond to any word in the Chinese language

Scorched Earth Karlach AU

Scorched earth; a military strategy to completely eliminate the enemies ability to fight the war. Including people, food, water, livestock and land.

In this AU, Karlach aims to scorch Gortash's earth. To ensure, before his demise, that everything he built crumbles around him. Keeping him alive just long enough to witness it all.

This would be a Karlach to suit more evil runs. Her anger is all-consuming. Her moral compass has been completely skewed, leaving her determined but selfish. She'd be far more violent and would approve of whatever method gets her to their goal faster. All these side quests like the grove, Moonrise Towers etc don't really concern her, she hasn't got time to care about them when she needs to get to Baldurs Gate to destroy Gortash.

Being told she is dying only spurs on her bloodlust. She willingly and eagerly uses soul coins for every big battle she's a part of and the usage has a toll on her body and mentality. She's a loose canon that is difficult to contain. She will not hesitate to go behind people's backs, sell them out or even betray them out right if they insist on getting in her way despite her warnings. She fares better with like minded individuals, ones that accept this darkness - or even encourage it. For those, she will still defend them as long as they don't hold her back or become a burden.

Note; if anyone is familiar with the character of Billy Butcher from The Boys; Karlach would basically be him in personality and deranged determination. Like Butcher; her light, caring moments are quickly becoming few and far between.

fun behaviors to give dragons that aren't feline/canine based

cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act

clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)

using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)

twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)

feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)

head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)

flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)

mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)

wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)

audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)

maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)

pounding wings against sides as a threat (gorillas)

slapping other dragons with their claws when their personal bubble is invaded (seals)

hoards used as a site to impress mates (birds of paradise)

snorting when undergoing heightened stress (horses)

making repeated loud noises with surroundings to establish territory (woodpeckers)

loud constant arguments with other dragons when roosting (bats)

building lairs that cause a domino effect of change in the land around them (beavers)

slapping their tails against the ground/water as a warning (beavers)

and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragony the dragon feels

Also btw trump recognizing only "the two biological sexes" harms intersex people too. I am a researcher of sex and it's affects on disease, and sex is far more complicated than "two sexes" and it always will be. Sex is multifaceted and there are far more than two binary sexes. Keep that in mind too. Don't fall into bioessentialism as you fight for trans people and intersex people.
