Everything I've written with Fnaf Sun and Moon
Listed from newest to oldest.
Almost all of these are either reader X Sun/Moon or OC x Sun/Moon
Spooky Stories from the Daycare: Night of the Fox!- Halloween tale full of scares and fluff! Creepy crawlies and candy! Our story is set in Japan in the 80’s! Sun and Moon had decided to have a little adventure out to a cabin for Halloween but they get lost in the woods. Y/N, a kitsune who resides in this forest, is displeased at having trespassers wonder into there territory and will do everything in their power to scare away the two animatronics.
Bits and Pieces- A cop buddy invites you to a speakeasy for a good time. You go to drown yourself in booze. Little did you know that not only would this make your problems so much worse, but you would also gain the attention of the city's two most dangerous mob bosses. You just wanted to run your little coffee shop and leave your life of danger behind, but fate has other plans for you. Inspired by Celestial Tinkerer by @justfangirlstuffs
Unbreakable chains- You’re a mermaid captured by pirates. Scared and injured, two strange metal men care for you while you’re trapped in this scary place and slowly an unbreakable bond is formed between the three of you. ________________ Wind and rain pelted down on the ship as the men scrambled to lift their catch from the water. The waves rolled, tossing the ship back and forth, slamming water down onto the decks as ropes were pulled and the net was lifted from the water. A screech rang out over the waves as something much larger than your average fish was raised from the black depths. Lighting forked across the sky, illuminating sharp teeth and claws as the beast fought to free itself. The shout of pain, as claws met flesh, was drowned out by the rumble of thunder, but the sharp crack from the pistol rang clear across the water, followed by a scream. Another shot and cry of pain, and the men were finally able to lower the beast into the belly of the ship. This story idea is 100% @rosemarysweets ‘s
Caught in a Fish’s Net- what if I wrote a story where a human is kidnapped by mermaids. And they were forced to marry two mer princes because of a prophecy that said if the princes married a human they would be able to end the plague killing their people. But the marriage seems to do nothing and now the human is trapped deep in the ocean with these mer because mer bond for life and now magic ties them together so if they’re apart for too long they’ll grow sick and die. OH! And there’s a sea witch who creates chaos. The sky had been cloudless when we'd set out this morning. The sun shone in the sky, causing sparkles to ripple across the waves as my father and I set out to sea in our small fishing boat. We cast out the nets and had a good laugh as we waited to pull them back in, Father at the rudder and me by the tethers we'd connected the nets to. Neither of us noticed how still the water had gotten. Neither of us saw the shadows below the surface.
The Queen and Her Knights- Banished from her home, MC uses her immense magical abilities to heal a barren land, making it a safe haven for lost souls. The people of these lands name her queen, and all is right with the world until the kingdom that banished the MC decides they want the now flourishing lands for themselves. Lying about why they are going to war, the king claims that the evil witch is keeping the people in these lands as slaves and sends out a massive army. Desperate to find a way to buy herself more time, and in a panic, MC kidnaps the two knight commanders, and shenanigans ensue. Sun and Moon are humans Sun is Solaris Starr And Moon is Lucien Altalune
Bubbly- A little waterlily mer guppy is trapped, home destroyed, and taken to a pet store to be sold. After spending some time living in a fish bowl, our little guppy is saved and moved to a tank that has been dubbed the daycare by the human tending to it. The daycare tank is set up to rehabilitate fish before they are released back into their natural habitats. There our guppy meets Sun and Moon, two fish that live full time in this tank taking care their healing guests. Sun and Moon and our guppy fall in love and then shit goes down.
A Door You're Unable To Close- (rewrite of unpleasant nightmare) My best friend talked me into coming with her as moral support to her little brother's birthday party. I hadn't wanted to go to that stupid birthday party to begin with and now I'm trapped in a video game, a horror video game that might kill me. I thought at the time that it was ironic that a kid named Greg had gone missing in a Chuck-e-Cheese of all places but this is taking things much too far.
Invisible- There's nothing like working for a corporation in a capitalist society to remind you that you are nothing but furniture and need not be perceived unless needed. Even the animatronics in this place are treated more human than I am. At least I'm on the same level as the staff bots… that's a plus? Though usually, people prefer to speak with a staff bot over me, so I suppose 'even' is the lie I tell myself. I've worked for Fazbear Entertainment at their pizza plex for about a year. I do a little bit of everything. Cleaning, repair, sales… even security sometimes. Most of the human workers have been replaced with robots to cut down on employee costs. Sometimes I think I'm the last human working here, but then I remember Vanessa still works here too. Sometimes I wonder if they just forgot to fire me or tell me I was fired, but I'm still getting paychecks, so… yeah. _________________________________________
Late Night DayDreams: This is a collection of story pieces for Sun and Moon that I wanted to write out that don’t really have a plot to go with them. Most of these will be romantic or fluffy but some will be angst… because yes.
Me and My Flirtatious Pirates- Naked cuddling with pirate Sun and Moon. Human Sun and Moon Sun: Solaris Starr Moon: Lucien Altalune Sun and Moon are not brothers and don’t have romantic love for one another.
The Star Dome- An OC named Fey is a new animatronic that has been added to the plex.
Murder's doll- a small child forced to live on the streets is abducted by Eclipse and raised to be sold off as a pawn. the first year of MC's life they live with Eclipse's charges, Sun and Moon and are tutored mercilessly until they are finally sent off to boarding school. after finishing school, MC is married off to an abusive husband but is eventually saved by Sun and Moon.
Astrological Bullets- A Wild West story. You’re tied to a set of railroad tracks somewhere in the desert. You’ve accepted your fate, waiting for either the heat or a train to take you, when a strange metal individual happens by.
Stars and Webs- Running form those hunting you, you fall into the web of a beast that should be more terrifying than the humans who want to end your life. But the creatures that finds you seems to want to keep you alive rather than eating you for dinner.
Colorful Lights- You used to be an acrobat, working at a carnival that was a home to you. After a fire and a nasty fall, your home was left to rot. Coming back years later you’re captured by the people who’ve taken over the place. Saved by some old friends, you learn some unsettling truths about them.
_________________________________
Hellfire to Warm the Heart - There I was, standing in the rain, my ears still ringing from the door slamming behind me. Everything had gone downhill so fast. First, my job fired me without warning or reason then, unable to find a new job, I was evicted from my apartment due to being unable to pay rent. With my suitcase at my feet, I stared blankety down the street. What was I going to do? I had nowhere to go. My family had cut ties with me years ago, and I didn't have a friend to speak of. Was there a shelter I should go to, or would I be sleeping on the street tonight? "Oh, dear! Are you okay?" I flinched, not expecting anyone to speak to me. Looking around, I saw an expensive black car parked at the curb, and a back window rolled down. As I watched, the back door opened, and a man, preceded by a large black umbrella, exited the car. As he straightened, I took a step back, gazing up at a towering individual standing before me. Dressed in a pale blue suit, this guy had to be almost 7 feet tall, towering over me. His hair was shimmery gold, making him look like a sun. Golden eyes glittered as, with a soft smile, the man asked, "You look to be in a bit of a bind. Would you like some help?"
Another Daycare Story - This is another of your reader x Sun/ Moon Pizza Plex daycare stories. We start with a 20-something individual getting a job in the daycare and having to overcome a fear of animatronics. There will be some angst with Moon. Then the romance will begin. Eventually, we'll hit the events of the game and go through all that fun, but until then, this will be mostly random fluff and angst shenanigans in the loose shape of a story as our main characters fall in love.
Fish Fry Pulled from the sea 5 years ago, I was tied up, beaten, and sold to owner after owner, each deciding I was too dangerous to keep. Back then, I was strong, able to break bones and tear flesh with ease, singing to lure humans to their demise. It's what my kind was made to do, kill humans. But no more. Kept in increasingly small tanks, barely fed, and unable to swim, I started to weaken. Eventually, I was dumped here. It was some kind of oddities collection. My owner had other humans pay to look at his strange assortment of items he had gathered from around the world. Then one day I encountered two strange humanoid creatures that resembled the Sun and the Moon and my life started to change for the better.
Small One Several years ago, robots took over the world. Most of the human population was wiped out, and those left were kept as pets and playthings for their robot overlords. Escaping from the laboratory that had been experimenting on you, you run into a new captor who pays for you and decides to keep you as his own pet. Sun and Moon comfort and care for you as they try to help you feel safe and loved for the first time in years.
Jesters and Dragons I saw them first on my younger brother's 14th birthday. New toys built for the young prince’s entertainment, care and protection. Magical metal jesters, modelled after the sun and moon. They were marvellous! Skilled acrobats, tumbling through the grand hall doing flips and tricks as they went; magicians, pulling bouquets from nowhere and making them vanish again; and jokesters, telling tails that could put a smile on anyone's face! All the while with large grins plastered on their faces as though they were enjoying every second! I was mesmerized, never before having seen such skilled craftsmanship on a construct before, let alone two! They were so life-like! Jealousy gripped my heart. I had never received a gift so wonderful as this. I was lucky to receive anything on my birthdays when my family remembered them. Being the 4th girl child born to the king, I was easily forgotten. This became even more of a frequent occurrence once my brother was born, the heir to the family and the kingdom, the golden child. The main character is the 4th princess of a large kingdom. Her younger brother, the golden child, is gifted two magical construct jesters modeled after the sun and moon on his 14th birthday. While wishing that they had been gifted to her instead, the main character ends up running into the jesters at every turn, turning her into a blushing stuttering mess as they flirt shamelessly with her. Fluffy fluff fluff fluff. With a smidge of angst.
Catch a Falling Star You’re a creature from the forest. Tricked and trapped, you’ve been experimented on, beaten and put on display in a freak show at a carnival. It's been months with no chance of escape when two lost humans find you and take pity on you, wanting to help you. Having to put your trust in humans, you decide to let them break you out, taking you home with them.
Stars in the Darkness You find yourself living in a cabin in the middle of the woods. After cleaning up the mess from the previous occupant, you find a broken statue that seems to have been living in the forest, covered in moss and lichen. Deciding that it would be wise to put the statue back where it belongs, you fix it up and lug it out through the trees to place it back in its home. This pleases something living in the darkness of the trees, and little gifts start appearing on the porch of the cabin. The creatures in the dark seem to like you. You should be careful not to do anything that would anger them now that you have their attention. I'm working on some cryptid stuff for the month of Halloween!
Two Hunters and a Bloodsucker My life is good for what it is. Except that I’m dead. Well, undead. I’ve been undead for about 15 years now, and I haven’t aged a day. Being a vampire hiding among humans can be difficult at times, mainly dealing with sunlight and avoiding mirrors, but I manage. I’ve been living and working in this little town as the town blacksmith for about 7 years now, and I’ve become a full-fledged member of the little community here. I thought I had been doing a good job hiding my presence among the humans, but one day two of the most well-known vampire hunters came into town. If they find out what I am, they will kill me, but both of them have become intent on becoming my friends and maybe more. How can I keep myself from being discovered when two hunters are trying to romance me?
Little Assistant MC is the assistant to the CEO of Fazbear Entertainment. As Vanessa kidnaps and kills children while attempting to bring Springtrap back to life, MC is forced to clean up the mess and cover up the disappearances. MC is also tasked with keeping an eye on the Daycare attendants, keeping them in line as they are forced to help kidnapping children. “Did you do it? How do we know if it worked?” “We’ll have to test out some command codes on him. Everything uploaded without issue, but they do have minds of their own. He may put up a fight.” I wasn’t paying attention to the conversation, wanting as little to do with this as I could get away with. They had already forced me to help with so much, cleaning up all that mess, all that red, covering up the disappearance. Shuddering, I looked through the glass into the daycare beyond. Deep in the dark, I could see two red eyes glaring out at us, furious. I couldn’t blame him. The virus they had activated in the night mode daycare attendant was going to be used for something horrific.
Lost Time The reader, already in an established relationship with Sun and Moon, dies and wakes 5 years later in the body of an animatronic. The pizza plex was rebuilt after the collapse and fire. Due to some miracle, all of the animatronics had survived the disaster and were now back to work, entertaining the general public as though nothing had happened. After everything fell apart, children stopped disappearing, but the missing children were never found. Business was booming, and everything seemed to be better than ever. With the massive influx of money, Fazbear Entertainment decided to invest in a new animatronic, a drummer for the band, to add to the rock and roll feel of the Glam Rocks. But in the way of all things with Fazbear Entertainment, the acquisition of this animatronic was very confidential. Several none disclosure agreements were signed, and the whole thing was very shady. None of this mattered to me, of course. I was more worried about my new role in life. Well, it was life in a sense. I had finally woken up after 5 years to find myself strapped to a chair in parts and services, having been turned into an animatronic.
Lost in the Dark Working third shift for security wasn’t so bad. I spent the first few hours patrolling the halls of the upper floors, that being what I had been assigned. Then I would spend the rest of the night at the security desk in the daycare, cameras pulled up on the computer screens and keeping an eye on the ‘crazy’ animatronics that inhabited that colourful playground. 6 months of working night shift in the daycare, and I am unfortunate enough to have developed feelings for two clueless robots.
Dreaming of Dancing Clocks Waking up in a ballroom filled with elegant dancers, you can't remember how you got there. Something if off about the others here but you can't put your finger on it.
Bad Day I stopped with my hand on the door. I had come all this way on my day off and now I wasn't brave enough to push the doors open. Today had been a hard one. A nightmare the night before and some rough conversations had made my insides feel all squishy and tender. All I really wanted to do was lay on the floor and cry but something had brought me here, to the daycare.
Dark Waters When your parents died all their debt fell on your shoulders. You did everything you could but in the end, you were penniless and without a home. Reaching out to what relatives you had left, your uncle offered you a place, living and working at his little circus in the middle of the desert. It wasn't long after you moved into this little community that you found a strange abandoned tent hidden at the back of the grounds, a large tank inside. Posted just outside was a sign that read 'DANGER! KEEP OUT!' If you had headed the warning maybe you wouldn't be in this predicament but you also wouldn't have met the two most amazing creatures you have ever laid your eyes on.
Fishy Business Attacked and almost killed, I manage to escape my attackers and hide in a cave only to be found by something... not quite human. Too weak to get away and with the beasts that wanted to eat me waiting outside, this non-human kidnaps me, taking me to his ship. This is where I find that there are not one but two of these metal creatures. A story where the main character is a mermaid and is rescued/kidnapped by Sun and Moon
Cosmic Detectives I skid to a halt, a brick wall blocking me in. Turning around, I hoped in vain that I had enough time to backtrack and take another path before I was trapped. Two sets of glowing eyes met my gaze as I faced the entrance of the alley. One set red, the other blue. It was too late. Two guns were leveled at me, ready to fire.
Taking Time They needed a robotics expert and I needed a job. I had been between jobs. I had actually just been let go from my last job and was frantically looking for a new one when I had received an email from Faz Bear entertainment. They were looking for a robotics expert to run their parts and services lab. The pay was phenomenal but I would be the only one working in the lab and would be expected to keep the staff bots, animatronics, arcade games and all the automated systems in working order. I didn’t even hesitate a moment before I sent them a reply and agreed to an interview for the following day. Great pay and an entire lab to myself? Yes please.
Blood and Stars Wedged into my little hiding nook up in the second layer of book shelves, I could hear Sun whimpering somewhere below me. Over excited as he was, he had tripped and fallen face first over the sofa on the main floor, giving me the chance to escape. I was currently on the upper balcony of the library room, hidden behind the reading chairs that adorned one corner, pushed up against the wall. The whimpering turned into sniffles and I could almost believe that he was genuinely injured but I knew better. He had caught me this way before, coming out of hiding to see if he was hurt from whatever fall he had taken, clumsy as he was. He was just toying with me, seeing if I would come out of hiding on my own. Sooner rather than later he would get bored and start his search for me, calling out for me to come play, he wouldn’t bite. He would. The boys usually did. Vampire AU. Sun and Moon have a thirst for blood.
Why is it Spicy? okay so... this is an AU of my Unpleasant Nightmare fic. I started this as a joke for myself but now we're here. The general idea is the same. Stuck in Security Breach and need to find a way out but Sun and Moon are extra flirty and handsy.
Out of Place Fosters and Green is an up and coming robotics company and is the talk of every news station in the world. They haven’t even released their first line of robots yet but people are already clambering to get their hands on a robot made from Foster and Green. They plan on releasing a few household bots that will work as cleaning staff or secretaries but they also plan on releasing a line of child care bots. Why hire a nanny when you can have a live-in one you don’t need to pay. My designated number is D-375, I have been dubbed Kate by the technicians who ran all of my quality assurance checks. My dreams of working with a family of my own were quickly dashed. Foster and Green decided that they wanted to place a bot somewhere in the public eye where people could watch it at work and so had partnered with another company who also made robots, though they specialized more in animatronics that were designed for entertainment. The two companies decided to put one Foster and Green’s N-90 models in the daycare center of Fazbear Entertainment’s PizzaPlex to work alongside the child care units that Fazbear Entertainment had created.
Unpleasant Nightmare My best friend talked me into coming with her as moral support to her little brother's birthday party. I hadn't wanted to go to that stupid birthday party to begin with and now I'm trapped in a computer game, a horror computer game that might kill me. I thought at the time that it was ironic that a kid named Greg had gone missing in a Chuck-e-Cheese of all places but this is taking things much too far.

THEATRE:HOME - 2:150 (thanks pandemic)
I usually separate out docs and fiction, but I watched almost no documentaries this year (with the exception of Dick Johnston). Reality is real enough.
TV Series
01 - BoJack Horseman (final season) - Pretty damned poignant finish to the show, replete with actual consequences for our reformed bad boy protagonist (which is more than you can say for most antiheroes of Peak TV).
02 - *Hello Ladies - I enjoy the pure awkwardness of seeing Stephen Merchant try to perform being a Regular Person, but ultimately this show tips him too far towards a nasty, Ricky Gervais-lite sort of persona. Perhaps he was always best as a cameo appearance, or lip synching with wild eyes while Chrissy Teigen giggles?
03 - Olive Kittredge - a rough watch by times. I read the book as well, later in the year. Frances Mcdormand was the best, possibly the only, casting option for the flinty lead. One episode tips into thriller territory, which is a shock.
04 - *The Wire S3, S4, S5 - lockdown culture! It was interesting to rewatch this, then a few months later go through an enormous, culture-level reappraisal of cop-centred narratives.
05 - Forever - a Maya Rudolph/Fred Armisen joint that coasts on the charm of its leads. The premise is OK, but I wasn’t left wanting any more at the end.
06 - *Catastrophe - a rewatch when my partner decided he wanted to see it, too!
07 - Red Oak - resolutely “OK” steaming dramedy, relied heavily on some pretty obvious cues to get across its 1980s setting.
08 - Little Fires Everywhere - gulped this one down while in 14-day isolation, delicious! Every 90s suburban mom had that SUV, but not all of them had the requisite **secrets**
09 - The Great - fun historical comedy/drama! Costumes: lush. Actors: amusing. Race-blind casting: refreshing!
10 - The Crown S4 - this is the season everyone lost their everloving shit for, since it’s finally recent enough history that a fair chunk of the viewing audience is liable to recall it happening.
11 - Ted Lasso - we resisted this one for a while (thought I did enjoy the ad campaign for NBC sports (!!) that it was based on). My view is that its best point was the comfort that the men on the show have (or develop, throughout the season) with the acknowledgement and sharing of their own feelings. Masculinity redux.
12 - Moonbase 8 - Goodnatured in a way that makes you certain they will be crushed.
13 - The Good Lord Bird - Ethan Hawke is really aging into the character actor we always hoped he would be!
14 - Hollywood - frothy wish-fulfillment alternate history. I think the show would have been improved immeasurably by skipping the final episode.

Carlsberg Central Office in Valby
HQ Building Project in Copenhagen, Sjælland, Denmark design by C.F. Møller Architects
Updated 4 Feb 2021 + 4 Dec 2018
Carlsberg Central Office, Valby
Design: C.F. Møller Architects
Location: Valby, Copenhagen, Denmark
The new Carlsberg Central Office sets the framework for a modern and dy-namic workplace, with a building that supports identity, knowledge sharing, and inno-vation. This is emphasized with a large open atrium that binds the entire company together in one unified working community, integrated with the connecting the past with the future.
Carlsberg’s central office is located in Carlsberg’s historic area of Valby Bakke in Copen-hagen and appears harmonious in its interaction with its surroundings. The challenge has been to adapt a larger, modern office building with precision and sensitivity in a historic, urban and scenic location and, at the same time, give the building the aes-thetic quality that characterizes Carlsberg as a company.
Knowledge sharing and innovation The building consists of three wings, which unite in an atrium, the building’s central space, which opens onto Carl Jacobsen’s Garden overlooking Carlsberg City, where the long history of Carlsberg as a brewery business began and where it is still unfolding.
The atrium connects all the floors of the building, and around the atrium on each floor, there is a communal area where the company’s employees can meet. In this way, the atrium gathers all the office sections, both vertically and horizontally, and all the de-partments are experienced as one single working community, reinforcing collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation.
One of the building’s three wings forms a bridge over one of the neighbourhood’s main access roads, J. C. Jacobsen’s Gade, creating a modern gateway similar to the famous classical ones that characterize the Carlsberg City, while the other two wings embrace Carl Jacobsen’s historic garden and villa. The garden, which has so far been closed to the public will open to the public in 2021as part of creating the new central office.
Open and inviting interior The main entrance and reception are located on the ground floor adjacent to the atri-um. This welcoming space appears open and inviting to both visitors and passersby, with a great view to the garden from the inside and into the building from the outside.
A large staircase with steps furnished with seating pads, in the atrium and adjacent to the entrance space, invites to sitting down for short breaks, informal meetings and social inter-action between staff and guests. Meeting rooms and workstations that can be used as on-the-fly workplaces as well as a bar and café are also found on the ground floor. The canteen is in the south wing, which includes a large outdoor terrace facing Carl Jacobsen’s Garden.
By shaping the building in a faceted and angled way, the employees are given multiple workplace opportunities with varied views and spatial contexts, including glass meeting rooms. Several “touch-down” temporary workstations are placed in the building. They are found along the edge of the atrium and on two transverse bridges in the wing that forms a bridge over J.C. Jacobsen’s Gade. Small furniture groups create areas for infor-mal meet-ings, temporary work and coffee breaks. A wide use of lockers supports new and dynamic ways of working with flexible seating for the employees depending on the work to be done.
Adapted to the surroundings The façade consists of large glass sections that are rhythmically divided by vertical copper-plated slats. The copper leads the mind back to the old brewery tanks and re-fers to the many beautiful copper details on the historic buildings of the Carlsberg City District.
The building is adapted to the historic surroundings and the scale of the site by taper-ing the height down and designing the façade with recesses towards the surrounding smaller hous-es and Carl Jacobsen’s villa. The result is a building that gently fits and stands in beautiful harmony with its surroundings.
The building is adapted into its green surroundings with a special focus on Carl Jacob-sen’s garden. The recesses of the façade follow the topography of the site, emphasiz-ing the building’s relation to the landscape’s wavy lines, while the building’s terraced roof is a continuation of the sloping terrain. At the same time, the building’s green roof creates a smooth transition from building to landscape.
Past and future in the landscape The Carlsberg brewery was historically placed in Valby due the presence of a spring as a steady water supply for the beer brewing. This spring has now been reinterpreted to underline its historic value, into a water feature called ‘Kilden’ (The Spring).
The Spring gently marks the meeting between the central office’s close by private are-as and the listed garden to serve as a natural and recreational separation. This trans-forms the garden into a public recreational space in the Carlsberg City District and brings Carlsberg into a new era, with a higher degree of openness towards the public, where climate adaptation and accessibility are intertwined with the cultural heritage of the place.
Interpretations of water The Spring consists of three connected interpretations of water: A mirror basin with waterlilies, next to a stylized interpretation of a stream. This is connected to a cascade, the height of one floor, and ends in a raised basin and a lake with Iris and water grass-es. With climate adaptation and history as design drivers, all rainwater from roofs and surfaces are collected and handled locally. The collected rainwater is used recreational-ly in the garden’s sculptural water cascade. Excess surface water is stored in a buried rainwater reservoir.
Between The Spring and the listed neoclassical villa, a varied, lush planting belt with perennials, grasses, and smaller bushes is placed as a reinterpretation of the former romantic garden that once formed the garden’s western boundary.
Durable and sustainable The building is built in durable materials with a long lifespan and requires minimal maintenance. Bamboo floors have been laid in a herringbone pattern on all office floors. Bamboo is sustainable by being a fast-growing grass species and hard-wearing when used as a building component. The facades consist of 50% recycled copper and interior surfaces are mainly either untreated (without paint maintenance) or wood cladding with micro-perforations.
There are solar cells placed on the roof and low-energy ventilation systems with heat recovery, solar shading inside and outside the facades, as well as water-saving fixtures and toilets. The indoor climate is based on good daylight and optical indoor climate, a strong acoustic solution, healthy air exchange with filtered, fresh air, and several op-tions for con-trolling heat and glare via screens and curtains. The water feature, in combination with the building’s green roofs, handles storm water during rain showers.

Carlsberg Central Office, Copenhagen
The Carlsberg Group’s new central office provides the framework for a modern and dynamic workplace, where the intention has been to design a building that creates identity, knowledge sharing and innovation.
At the same time it has been important that the building stands in harmony with its surroundings and has the aesthetic quality that characterises Carlsberg as a company.
The building is located in the northwest corner of Carlsberg Byen, in Copenhagen, where one of the three wings of the building forms a bridge over one of the quarter’s main access routes, J. C. Jacobsens Gade, while the other two wings embrace Carl Jacobsen’s historic garden and villa.
The building’s central space, the atrium, opens onto Carl Jacobsen’s Garden overlooking Carlsberg Byen, where the long history of Carlsberg as a brewery business began and where it is still unfolding. The ground floor is open to customers and business partners, and with the atrium serving as a welcoming space, it is inviting and open to its surroundings.
The atrium penetrates all the floors of the building, and around the atrium on each floor, there is a communal area where the company’s employees can meet. In this way, the atrium gathers all the office sections, both vertically and horizontally, so that all the departments are experienced as one single working community, reinforcing collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation.
The façade consists of large glass panels, that are rhythmically divided by vertical copper-covered slats. The copper makes one think back to the old copper brew kettles and at the same time references the fine copper detailing on many of the historic buildings in Carlsberg Byen.
The building is adapted to the historical surroundings and the scale of the site, by tapering the height down towards the smaller surrounding houses and Carl Jacobsen’s Villa, and by designing the façade with recesses. The result is a building that gently fits and stands in beautiful harmony with its surroundings.
The building is a sustainable construction with durable solutions, built in natural materials with a long lifespan. The faade slats, for example, are coated with recycled copper and the building is built according to Copenhagen Municipality’s 2020 building class.

G2D2, 2: first week
Tumblr media
The campus of the China Three Gorges Hotel has a small river, full of waterlilies and lotus flowers. Beside it runs a main road, along which big water trucks run, shooting atomised water from cannon-like structures; we are told this is to reduce the air pollution.
After an introductory party on Monday, the conference opened at 9:00 on Tuesday morning. In the first week, much of the activity is minicourses 1 and 2, the first on “Laplacian eigenvalues and optimality” given by Rosemary and me, the second on “Topics in representation theory” by Tullio Ceccherini-Silberstein.
But first, some words on the two logos, which appear at the top of the first post in this sequence.
The meeting is being held in the Three Gorges Mathematics Research Centre, whose logo is on the right. It is part of the China Three Gorges University, near the famous Three Gorges on the Yangtse River. The University’s logo, which I am sure your search engine will quickly find, features three vertical wavy shapes, which presumably are intended to suggest water cascading through the three gorges. The TGMRC logo cleverly replaces these random shapes by integral signs, which they somewhat resemble.
The TGMRC is on a corridor on the top floor of a U-shaped building called L1 or L2, depending on which side you enter. The top of the U is closed by a high bridge. So it somewhat resembles the new location of the ICMS in Edinburgh, except that that building is entirely enclosed, whereas the central courtyard of L1/L2 is open to sun and rain. There is a nice lecture room with comfortable chairs. Although there is no public space except for the corridor (where the welcome party was held), there are a number of rooms which can be used as “breakout rooms” for small discussions.
The conference logo on the left is a Deza graph. There has been a recent upsurge of activity on Deza graphs, which I suspect is driven by Sergey Goryainov.
A Deza graph is a regular connected graph for which the number of common neighbours of two vertices takes just two distinct values. If adjacent vertices have one number of common neighbours and non-adjacent vertices the other, then the graph is strongly regular. So a strictly Deza graph is defined to be a Deza graph of diameter 2 which is not strongly regular. The graph in the G2D2 logo is the smallest strictly Deza graph, as you can easily verify. I do not know whether the colours have any mathematical significance.
On Wednesday, Dmitry Panasenko told us about a clever computer search which found all the strictly Deza graphs on up to 21 vertices. For one parameter set (I think on 20 vertices) there are many non-isomorphic graphs (I think around 20 or 30, though I didn’t copy down the number from a long table). Then Soesoe Zaw told us about some new constructions of strictly Deza graphs from the Berlekamp–van Lint–Seidel graph, using the operation of dual Seidel switching due to Willem Haemers. This pleases me, since I am typing this on a computer called Seidel.
The Berlekamp–van Lint–Seidel graph is a graph on 243 vertices which is dual (in the sense of Delsarte duality for association schemes) to the graph associated with the perfect ternary Golay code C of dimension 5 over the field of 3 elements. Take the dual code of C (which is 6-dimensional of length 11 and contains C as a subcode of codimension 1). The vertices of the graph are the cosets of this dual code; two vertices are joined if their difference contains a word of weight 1. It is a “sporadic” strongly regular graph with 243 vertices, and from it Soesoe was able to construct a strictly Deza graph on 243 vertices and two of them on 486 vertices.
Seidel’s name came up again in Wei-Hsuan Yu’s talk on equiangular lines, in which he began with the results which I saw from close-up in the early 1970s by Lemmens, Seidel, Higman, Taylor, Gerzon, and so on, and then gave some improvements, some of which have been obtained by semi-definite programming; and again in Alexander Gavrilyuk’s talk on digraphs whose Hermitian adjacency matrices have spectral radius at most 2.
One of the invited speakers was Gareth Jones. He was going to tell us about his recent theorem that many triangle groups contain uncountably many maximal nonparabolic subgroups (subgroups maximal with respect to containing no parabolic elements in their action on the hyperbolic plane). But for reasons not revealed, he was unable to come to the meeting. Instead, Alexander Mednykh had offered to give a talk to Gareth’s slides. Very brave, I thought. But Sasha began by explaining to us the basic idea behind the proof, a mix of maps and hypermaps, coverings, Riemann surfaces, etc.
Qing Xiang gave us new bounds for the size of a partial ovoid in either the generalised quadrangle E(5,q) (what I might call Ω−(6,q) and in the Ree–Tits generalised octagon; in each case, previous bounds were of order a power of q, but he and his co-authors have managed to lower the exponent of the power. He showed us Chris Godsil’s nice proof of Jef Thas’ q3−q2+q bound in the GQ case, based on association scheme techniques (and so potentially useable in much more general situations). The new bound uses modulo p techniques and very specific results about dimensions of modules for algebraic groups, and while much more powerful in this case is likely to be much more specialised.
There have been several mentions of Cayley graphs, and I must point out a notational trap. Given a subset S of a group G, not containing the identity, the Cayley (di)graph Cay(G,S) is the graph with vertex set G and with an arc from x to sx for every s in S. If S is inverse-closed, it is an undirected graph. It admits the action of G on itself by right multiplication (the right regular action) as automorphisms. In fact, any graph which admits G acting regularly as a group of automorphisms is necessarily a Cayley graph for G.
Now there are two, quite different, definitions of a normal Cayley graph:
The definition I learned first says that Cay(G,S) is a normal Cayley graph if S is a normal subset of G (closed under conjugation by elements of G); equivalently, the graph admits both the left and the right regular action of G as automorphisms.
The definition which seems to be standard among participants at this conference is: Cay(G,S) is a normal Cayley graph if G is a normal subgroup of the full automorphism group of the graph.
The first definition is very restrictive but also very useful. For two examples,
A graph invariant under the primitive group of simple diagonal type whose socle is the product of two copies of the simple group T is a normal Cayley graph for T.
For n > 3, Henson’s universal homogeneous Kn-free graph is not a normal Cayley graph for any group (though Greg Cherlin showed that it is a Cayley graph).
The second definition, by contrast, says essentially that a normal Cayley graph has no “unexpected” automorphisms: its automorphism group is contained in the holomorph of G. In accordance with the principle that graphs tend to have few automorphisms other than those you must have, we would expect that most Cayley graphs are normal; this has indeed been conjectured, with some evidence.
I wish that we had different words for these two obviously useful concepts. But it is probably too late for that now; one of them will just fade away.
The paragraph two above reminds me of an old theorem of mine, the citation for which was just imported from Scopus into the St Andrews research repository. For every finite group G, there is a constant α(G), between 0 and 1, so that, in the class of n-vertex graphs whose automorphism group contains a subgroup isomorphic to G, the proportion whose automorphism group is exactly G tends to the limit α(G) as n→∞. In accordance with the above principle, you might expect that most groups have α(G) = 1; but in fact this happens if and only if G is a direct product of symmetric groups, and the values of α are dense in the unit interval.
The idea of terminology fading away came up in Misha Muzychuk’s nice survey of coherent configurations for the summer school. As I have probably pointed out here before, at the end of the 1960s, within a couple of years of each other, Donald Higman invented coherent configurations, while Weisfeiler and Leman invented cellular algebras. The latter notation has faded away, partly because the term has been re-used with an entirely different meaning. But long before this, Bose and Nair invented association schemes, which are an important special case of coherent configurations. There are four levels of generality; in increasing generality, a coherent configuration may be symmetric, commutative, homogeneous, or none of the above. Bose and Nair used the term “association scheme” for symmetric c.c.; Delsarte used it for commutative c.c.; Bannai and Ito used it for homogeneous c.c., and this seems to have become standard. I prefer to use the term “coherent configuration” with appropriate qualification.
Unfortunately Misha did not have time to describe his recent construction, with Klin and Reichard, of proper Jordan schemes; but Mike Kagan will talk later in the meeting, and I think he might say something about this.

daily reports (wed, thu, fri)
Wednesday is all bookshops - sorry, bookstores, American google maps doesn’t recognise the word bookshop - and citymapper. There’s a food market in Union Square and from the subway I emerge, blinking in the thick of it, disorientated. When my family visited NYC in 2014, my brother began calling me ‘meerkat’ because of my confused facial expression every time I stepped out from a subway and didn’t know which direction the blocks were going, which way was east. The name stuck, probably because I tend to look confused most of the time. Meerkat. Meerkate. I go to Strand books first, kind of eye-rolling myself and all the tote bags they flog, but they have @durgapolashi‘s book and I cradle it all the way to the cashier (picking up a Springsteen postcard on the way). I’ve got some trendy coffee place all lined up from the app I downloaded, but there’s a Pret opposite Strand and suddenly its promise of home creeps like vines around me, pulls me across the street. The drenchingly familiar smell of the honey-maroon interior, the London-ness of it, so pervasive it is enough to wrench the heart of one who has never felt homesick in America. Honey where you been so long? The smell of a Pret branch is always penetrating yet light, almost cloying were it not for its irresistible lilts of health and colour. Pret smells of a soy cappuccino after a visit to an art gallery on a rainy afternoon, of a packet of dried mango slices on a long train journey, of fresh wood shavings. Pret smells of rainbows and falafel. Of rainbow falafel, if such a thing existed. Pret smells of the golden glow of getting home earlier than expected, and it smells of the  snack decisions you make quickly before a gig or a play. Pret smells of the gathered -aah- of a mid-shopping break, of puddles of spring rain, and sunshine condensed into planks of balsam and coffee stirrers. Pret smells of London on that first warm day some time in late April, and it smells of compromise - everybody likes Pret - and cucumbers and comfort. And when I smell Pret, in the middle of New York City with everybody I love on the wrong side of the ocean, the interior drenches me in all of this, the way a bellyflop drenches you, smack, and I almost have to walk out, except their iced coffee is half the price of the trendy places and I’m thirsty.  Then to Greenwich Village, again, to two more bookstores. I buy a screenplay about Robert Johnson that Greil Marcus recommended. I walk all the way to Trader Joe’s for hummus and salad, and catch the subway. Home, Mum calls. It’s late evening in London. Later Dad wanders in from a ukulele social, his ukelele strapped to his back. He is flush with the night warmth (the UK got a heatwave too) and he looks younger than I remember. It’s not a ukulele, actually, but a baby guitar, he informs me, and then they go to bed. My room is so warm that I re-watch Force Majeure, hoping its snow will cool me down somehow.
On Thursday I wake up at ten and run four miles. Not in that quick a succession; waking up is a long ordeal for me. The fancy Flatbush streets are 100% dapple this time of year, like I accidentally wandered into a Monet, the sunlit negative spaces between leaves obscuring the details of houses and cars. Except for the middle-aged bearded man in bright green rollerblades. He gliding up and down the road, up and down. He looks like your average Brooklyn hipster dad freelance writer. Maybe his air conditioning broke down and this is the only place he can find cool. I run in a sports bra, feeling triumphant about patriarchy and my own pitiful self-esteem, until I remember that my as-yet-unexposed stomach is an entirely different shade to the rest of me. Cali-ombred. Post-run malaise upside down from my bed, and then the subway to Dumbo. When I come out of York Street station I’m a momentary meerkat again, lifted out into a tangle of bridges and intersections and buildings stacked against each other. I like the environment immediately. I join the tourist posers on Washington Street for the shot that repeats itself in squares on Instagram, and then I hunt down Brooklyn Roasting Company, and clutch cold brew along the water’s edge, taking the meandering path park, under the bridges. The other side of Brooklyn Bridge gets a bit too ‘boat tours and melted ice cream’ but just past that there’s grass and shade. I read, sat in the hulk of downtown New York, its presence comforting, like when I was fourteen and overjoyed just to be sitting in the same room as my crush - I’d never actually talk to him, of course. Later I continue walking along the water, until I can see the curving underside of the city, and New Jersey folded up into the horizon. Peach salsa, and ice cream, and how I miss my friends.
Details from today: Chinese boy smoking on our doorstep, the city so ‘soft summer rain’ I want to take my shoes and socks off and find a Dodge and warm beer. Rushing in from the damp to Happy Bones. The woman next to me talks so loud about her ‘wellness tree’. And her bullet journal. The colour-coded charts she has drawn to reflect her mood, her food, her sleep. I turn a squawk-laugh into a barely disguised cough. How my book cover perfectly matches the coffee shop interior. Half a bagel in Washington Square Park (I’m broke and rationing/giving myself leeway before the glut of home food), and pigeons like a giant flag, and a march with a brass band. Finding Yayoi Kusama at the MoMA, and the static celebrity of Starry Night. The predictable characters of free Friday night entry: the young Spanish couple nervously trying to live up to their romantic getaway, the bemused stylish elderly couple, the parents arguing about what makes something art while their kids trail behind, the long-limbed girl pretending she doesn’t know how artily pretty she is, the middle-aged dad using the limb of his spectacles to read a long caption. Louise Lawler. ‘This will mean more to some of you than others’, and ‘Once there was a little boy and everything turned out alright. THE END’. All of my body pulled towards Rothko’s No.10 and Rauschenberg’s Glacier (Hoarfrost) and even Sheeler’s Bucks County Barn. Reductive abstraction, reductive geometry, my favourites. Heart-eyes in front of Agnes Martin. Her grids are clouds, pools, outdoor pools on days of light cloud. I could swim in them for hours. Steve McQueen, the room with the waterlilies. I flop in the sculpture garden, planning to read awhile - if I wasn't alone, we’d get beers probably, and fall into early-evening tipsiness - but I can't think about that. It rains anyway, and they close the garden.

🌸 bts tag game: Which bts member is similar to you?
I was tagged by @sunshinehobi-07 @namjinlovebot and @flowerseokjin to take this quiz to see which BTS member is similar to me. Thank you so much for the tag.💜
I got: Jungkook
you got jungkook! you're a dreamer. is this your first life? it must be, since you're so easily amazed. your mind is a bit all over the place, and you get lost in your thoughts like a kid gets lost in a maze. you're good at a bunch of things, and your interests vary from music to sports to art. you're a softie, but remember that it's okay to cry often! your aura is purple, which makes you an intuitive, sensitive person. you remind me of sleep over parties, sharing chips, the loudest of concerts. if you were a star i'd find you even in a cloudy sky- among the other stars, you are the brightest.
