I just finished playing Undertale, after 7 years and this game still hits the perfectly. The final fight... the characters... the gaining of love... and of course;
"It's you!"
"Despite everything, it's still you."
"Still just you, Frisk."

I don't know which theory I like more; the one where Susie is a hybrid, which is why she bleeds or the fact that monsters might bleed or deltarune universe; which is even more a tragic hint of San's coming from Deltarune.

Man anyone who likes Deltarune and the exploration between player and playable character should check out Downhill. Very interesting premise that explores the idea of character that is controlled by the player!

Unwanted child (Elmer)
Summary: Elmer's birth to a certain family was not a happy occasion. Unwanted by their parents this fic explores Elmer's childhood.
A fic of Elmer's birth.
She was a unwanted child. A mark of shame to her parents. Her father had wanted a beautiful daughter to dote on. Her mother had wanted a kind boy to dote on. Instead, they had gotten her. "A truly horrific looking daughter," her father had proclaimed with disgust. "What a cruel child will I have", her mother sobbed. She had not even cried during the birth but now she did.
Only person who held the child was the wetnurse and even they stared with shock. The child was horrific looking, with most of her face being covered with a weird growth that reminded them of… flowers? Only their nose and lips could be seen. There was almost no hair and what little there was was thin and rough. The skin was sickly redish color, that seemed to belong more to a dead person than a newborn child. Everything about her appearence pointed toward Berath, The Goddess of Death.
"GET OUT! We don't need all of you staring!" The Father shouts brought the wetnurse back from the child's body, only to see the healer and nurses - who had helped during the birth - chased out of the room. Finishing his orders, he now turned his wrath toward the wetnurse. "Get rid of this child! I will not be known as the house that gave birth to a harbringer of doom," He ordered. The wetnurse stared at the man, now in shock by the father's orders. "A blessing! Berath has blessed you with their child!", Now they held the baby with newfound protectiveness. "It is an sign of favor. To kill a child of Gods would be an act of uneducated lowborn." They continued. The mother kept crying but the father considered the words. It's true. He had never heard any other nobles killing a child, especially a child of gods. The servants would have also heard about the birth by now, no doubt from the healers and nurses. It would not look good at all, to kill a child of Gods. Like a lowborn peasent, as the wetnurse had said. He and his darling would lose all their favor with other aristocracy and their credibility as a pure family. Better to bear the embarrassement than to be known as a family that killed a spawn of Berath.
"Take the child away", he commanded, coming to the decision. "To the nursery," he continued, when the wetnurse opened their mouth. "I will not have my dear to bear any more stress." After saying that father turned to the mother with soft eyes and kind voice, trying to soothe her. The wetnurse nodded and turned to leave, only to stop in their tracks. "The child… What… what name should I give her?" She asked the parents, now timid. "Let Berath pick it, if it so badly wanted to have this child." Father snapped. The mother raised her face the first time from the father's embrace. With tears on her eyes and a flat voice she stated "We don't want her as our child. You name her, since you want her so badly." After that she turned back to father's embrace and the wetnurse stepped out of the room. The child had not cried even once.
.
.
.
The sudden cry of a child woke the wetnurse from their sleep. Crying! The child was crying! Never before have they been happier to hear a child's cries. Half-asleep they stumbled out of their bed, and hurried to the nursery. As they opened the door, they also mumbled a incantasion and fire awoke in their hand. Waving their hand, the fire burst into the candles spread around the room. The child kept crying and the wetnurse lifted child to their arms, consoling them. There were no tears, they noticed absentmindedly. Of course there wouldn't be, with their eyes all covered up. The poor child probably didn't even have any eyesight. Hushing the child they sat into a rocking chair in the room and started to hum a melody for the child.
The melody they had learned, while visiting a temple of Berath, when they had just moved to Aedyr. They were homesick and missed their family, they had taken to walking around their new home ciy, they had heard singing and had stumbled upon the temple of Berath. The temple had been simple but a beautiful place with a stone figures of Berath's physical figures greeting them in the doorway, as they entered the temple. In here they had seen a group of priests practising a song for the Winter's End festival. The song had been beautiful and they had stayed in the temple, feeling comforted by closeness of the God their family worshipped.
And now, the family they serve has been blessed by Berath, the goddess of death, the usher and the had spurned the child. "Fools," they huffed quietly, slightly worried that the father would burst into the room shouting. They had thought that a well-educated aristocratic would have more sense but it seems they were wrong. Well if they were not going to raise Berath's blessing, they would do it, gladly, and show Berath's faith was not misplaced.
Looking down on the child they saw that she had stopped crying and was now quietly breathing. They took it as a sign that the child was asleep again. Good. They didn't want the parents to have sudden change of mood and get rid of the child after all. Carefully they got on their feet and moved to lower the child back to the crib, glad to see she didn't even stir. Tender feeling filled them, as they watched the sleeping child. The poor thing birth should have been celebration, and her name should have been a sign of faith from her parents to Berath. Yet the father had only called the child 'horrific' and a 'harbringer of doom.' Ah! That's right… a name… The child needed a name. A name that showed their faith toward Berath… The wetnurse smiled and kissed the sleeping shild on the head. They whispered the child's name quietly, a silent promise to their god. "A fitting name for you, chosen of Berath. You shall do amazing things yet." Smiling softly they stepped away from the crib, to the left. Heading out of the room, they waved her hand, enguishing the flames and plunging the room back to darkness. Back in their own bed, they could almost feel Berath's blessing them.

Small artists you need to understand that when you see an artist who you think has 'made it' tells you not to worry about the numbers and to not fret about getting more likes than reblogs they are not telling you it because they think you are stupid for caring or because they dont need to network to survive they are very likely telling you that because they have witnessed first hand the way the numbers game tears people to shreds in terms of mental health and motivation

btw with art when people say 'youve got to do it scared' 'youve got to draw bad' 'youre not gonna know how to do it until you do it' it sounds like bullshit but its true. 90% of art is just getting over the fear that it's not going to be good enough to deserve to be made in the first place. but you're here. you're alive and, with no need to justify that, you're going to make art. it's just part of being alive. you'll spend so long worrying you aren't doing it good enough that you'll look back and realized you didn't live a single day of it.

Hey seiishin, I'm a beginner artist and i was hoping you could give a full tutorial on how you color?
hello! this is a bit of a hard question to answer since i dont think giving a tutorial of how i colour without learning any foundational colour concepts first would be very beneficial, so i'll try to give you some basic tips on picking colours instead since this is a very VERY expansive topic and im simply not the kind of person that can pass on that knowledge very well especially since im not the best at it lol
when im picking colours for my drawings, i try my best to "unify" the colour pallet so that it seems more cohesive, this tip from ggdg sums it up pretty well i think
Tumblr media
other than that, i usually try to pick colours that generally look good together based on different colour harmony concepts, like these!
Tumblr media
i'll try and show you an example with something i'm working on right now. you'll notice i didn't colour pick tinkaton's colours from its art and went for a warmer pink and saturated the blues of the hammer a little.
Tumblr media
you'll also notice the canvases i draw on are NEVER pure white. this isnt to say pure white is something that can never be used but white is a colour that usually influenced by surrounding colours, so pure white in most pallets just wont look right. so its not usually a colour i would use as a backdrop if youre trying to pick good colours for your art. but again, there's always exceptions and this isnt a hard rule. here's pure white compared to the colour my canvases usually start with
Tumblr media
another thing i should touch on briefly is colour relativity and the importance of value and saturation.
value is SUPER SUPER important for making sure all the colours in your art stand out from each other and read clearly. as you can see here, most of the values here stand apart from each other, and i can see that i probably need to adjust the darkness of the light blue in comparison to the pink hair tips, though the lineart separates them well enough already i think. this is also a good way tocheck you havent made any dark skinned characters too light. values are important guys!
hot tip: put a layer of pure black on top of your art and set that layer to "colour" and BOOM! you can see the values of your art in grayscale.
Tumblr media
and i'll also briefly touch on colour relativity. because we percieve colours relative to each other, we usually read a colour as something its not when its surrounded by certain other colours. let's take a look at my background drawings in the cover i did for the shuichi saihara zine:
Tumblr media
though i only used a bunch of different purples, when all of them are perceived in relation to each other, a warmer purple can look like blonde hair amongst all the other purples!
as for the brushes i use while colouring, i like textured brushes! i bought these so i cant share them for free but im sure there are many free alternatives out there
Tumblr media
anyway, sorry if this isnt exactly what you wanted, but there are TONS of people out there that have worded this better than i ever could, i would suggest looking up some youtube vids on colour theory, but i hope these little tips are useful enough!
