Kid Shadow Can probably eat anything and be fine, there’s a rat in the apartment so they a put a piece of bread with poison on it, the next morning the bread is gone but no rat. Shadow is like “oh the bread in the counter? I ate it”

For playing pretend with kids, the easiest way to fake it is to pretend you're acting out a character on stage! It's not pretend, it's just a play! Words from a page translated to actors on stage - its an art form, really. Also most kids are so built up in their own fantasy world that they likely won't even notice you feel weird playing pretend as long as you just keep talking.
