Today I was almost denied access to my bank account at the bank.
The teller looked at me, then my profile, which says Mrs. [Very Masc Deadname] [Lastname] and said "who's account is this?" with the -very- skeptic look of like 'who's account are you accessing'? So my first thought was: fuck I have to explain I'm transgender.
But no.
The issue I was not prepared for was that she looked at me, mask off, and thought 'how does this teenager have access to a near 30 year olds account? Is this your parents?'. I had to ID myself at the counter for her to go "you look too young to be almost thirty!".
So it wasn't that I didn't pass, it was that I looked too young.

I was going to try and refute this. However then I went down a rabbit hole of what games have playable cat-people and it -is- mostly furries. Now that's not a -bad- thing. Go furry representation and all. However, catgirls, catboys, and catenby rep has taken a dip. And I'm not just talking about playable races! Even the option to get a simple catear headband accessory in games is down! And that makes me ... not happy.
Tumblr media
This kind of not happy.
I asked if Dragon's Dogma had catgirls and they told me yes. I looked and saw furries. I meant the anime kind. The transgender catgirl is truly the most oppressed group

Fun fact, turns out one of my major issues with my body going on the warpath to fucking hate me is "stomach acid content too damn high".
Third week on antacids, and I can actually work out without my stomach deciding to try an fuck up my guts, or vomiting. I've long accepted I'll never be that trans girl with a nice natural bust, my families genetics is on the small chest size.
So I'll go for buff norske girl. Already got the axe hyperfixation. Just need to get the muscle to match.

My streams have been lacking focus for me, and today I've found the answer. I've not had a real point to stream or make videos. It's something I enjoy, but there's a passion requirement I've been missing for me to really get behind it. And I've found it as of today.
Answering the question "But is it good?".
My drive to get into programming, to make videogames, has always been fueled by the disgust of seeing game prices sky-rocket, PC parts rise, and the slow cutting out of the casual gamer from major release titles. Graphics requirements go up, gameplay quality goes down, and story content takes a back seat but the price keeps rising. And I go through this process every time I play a game and I've never showcased it. Ever.
So starting now, todays stream, I'll be dropping the graphics to potato mode. Killing the sparkly coating, and diving into where games shine or where they fail. And I'll be going over the game once it's completed to answer "but was it good?" in a video.
So if you like listening to an autistic trans girl tear into videogames and critique as she plays, I'm @talisidekick on Twitch and Youtube. Things will likely get passionate.

My PC was built top-of-the-line for gaming in 2014. If my PC can't run your game on low graphics -and- stream it to Twitch, your game sucks. If I can't play your game on low period, it's trash.
And it's not because I can't play it.
It's because thats how I know the company/person who made it prioritized graphics to hide it's lack of gameplay. If I turn the graphics to potato mode and that kills the enjoyment, you have an issue. That's a bad game.
The most acclaimed titles ever released, not the official ratings, the player reviews, the Steam ratings, are by far the titles with low graphics, because the devs focussed on gameplay.
The gaming development industry has a big problem and it's 100% greed. It's corporations and company heads thinking more about profit than playable content, and middle-class gamers spending 2 to 5k on gaming rigs and acting like their LED strip-lighting, RGB fans, and excessively overpriced and un-needed custom watercooling loop is the dick-waving equivalent of the custom car they want but can't afford the stock model for. There's no desire to make good, fun, playable games. It's all about squeezing as much money as possible from the dwindling middle-class gamers with the 2 to 5k rigs through micro-transactions and paid 'DLC' that should have been base game content at release. Every big name video game streamer or youtuber playing a companies game on the highest graphics, streaming or uploading at HD to 4k is free advertising. They only cater to the 1-10% that can play the game because those are the ones willing to foot an outrageous $80 pricetag for a lack-luster experience. And on the rare occasion a gem of gameplay gets created, the corporate/company heads looking entirely at a profit graph don't care about having the game open up to a wider market because they can spend less investing in a new project to make another fancier graph for their investors to smile at about how much money they just made. It's not about longevity profits and long-term investments, it's about immediate returns. And this absolutely is the same for the PC parts and laptop industry. It's immediately more profitable to cut out lower-class gamers from upgrading or updating to gouge wealthier gamers for parts, than it is to allow college students on student loans, or working class people making less than 100k a year to afford steadily upgrading over time.
"The Guy" with the 2GB Ram and rural internet connection is actually the high bar of standards that the so called "tripple A" gaming industry currently fails to meet. It's EASY to make a game that only runs on 1% of all personal computers. It's MUCH HARDER to make a game that runs on 40-50%. And the payoff is slower and spread out over time. The profits are greater, but it doesn't look as good on a scrunched by-month yearly graph. This is why the indie games market, smaller dev teams, manage this pretty consistently. Good games make a lot of profit over time, especially when they're affordable to the lower class.
So, to be frank, no, your thousands of dollars gaming PC doesn't make you more important and your opinion matter more. Your thousands of dollars gaming PC and open checkbook is driving down game quality and restricting accessibility because graph spikes look financially better to greedy investors than ascending curves. You're funding the problem.
I'm going to play all my streams on potato mode instead of trying to play them on the best graphics possible from this point on to prove this point. When the graphics suck, is it still playable? Is it still fun? Is the story still good?
My solution for bloatware is this: by law you should hire in every programming team someone who is Like, A Guy who has a crappy laptop with 4GB and an integrated graphics card, no scratch that, 2 GB of RAM, and a rural internet connection. And every time someone in your team proposes to add shit like NPCs with visible pores or ray tracing or all the bloatware that Windows, Adobe, etc. are doing now, they have to come back and try your project in the Guy's laptop and answer to him. He is allowed to insult you and humilliate you if it doesn't work in his laptop, and you should by law apologize and optimize it for him. If you try to put any kind of DRM or permanent internet connection, he is legally allowed to shoot you.
With about 5 or 10 years of that, we will fix the world.

Transfem.Social is currently under fire from their server provider.
Tumblr media
This is one of the places I've begun to upload some of my posts to. Despite the name, it's a uniformly transgender friendly space (as far as I'm aware) for all trans folks, trans men and enbies of any expression included. I'm currently unemployed and can't donate, but if any of you have a bit to spare their links are as follows.
Your support will go a long way to helping keep queer content, including artwork, on the internet and visible for allies of all ages and youth and adults who're in the process of discovering their queer identities.

Ah! My bad! The weave was just so close to what I use and looked basically identical to me. I've edited the original post so it says 'similar'.
Just in case people want to get the exact rope you use, can you provide a direct link to the store?

And for $13.00 CAD (before tax and shipping) you too can own 100 ft. of a similar rope.
Tumblr media
As an aside, this is cotton rope, this site does sell jute twine and hemp rope (under the Manilla category) which are better for making knots that won't tighten with tension as easy. If you're using cotton ropes, please have your shears within easy reach and make sure you've done your research on what knots to use. Also, this is NOT A ROPE TO USE FOR SUSPENSION (it gives you the breaking tension).
Don't ask me why I know this, or why I had this handy. (PS. if you wash your cotton ropes they get softer)

I had no idea what TMA or TME actually meant until this post. It's why I didn't use them. And just by the use of "affected" and "exempt" as polar opposites without the intersexism context is wrong. No individual is wholly exempt or affected, there is always a grey area. With the intersexism context it's just even more blatantly wrong.
I will not be using TMA/TME as terms for defining peoples experiences and encounters with oppression for all the reasons given thus far at least.
TME and TMA as intersexist terms: as written by an intersex transfem
I’ve had a few different people in my inbox asking me why I view these terms the way I do. In particular, why I claim it’s intersexist. So, I thought I’d lay out a few examples, so everyone can understand where I’m coming from.
Imagine an intersex woman. She was assigned female at birth by her doctors, and was able to go about her childhood as a woman with no inclination that anything was amiss. Sure, she didn’t experience certain parts of puberty, but puberty was different for everyone, right?
But, later in life, she learns she has Turner syndrome. This is an intersex condition where a woman has only one X chromosome, rather than the usual two.
Soon after she learns this, she finds that laws are being made to attempt to keep trans women out of women’s spaces (often specifically sports) which use chromosomes as a defining factor of womanhood.
Would this intersex person be considered “transmisogyny affected”? She has been raised as a cisgender woman with no problems regarding being ‘clocked’, but she is also a direct target of transmisogynistic laws. She lies in a gray area.
Now, let’s go to another intersex person. Imagine an intersex man with PAIS. AIS is an intersex condition where babies are born with testes and XY chromosomes, but their body is immune to or can’t respond to androgens (which includes testosterone). Intersex people with partial AIS (PAIS) often develop a vulva and clitoris during puberty.
This intersex person identifies as a man, and he was assigned male at birth. However, his body does not produce testosterone, and he went through a feminizing puberty. To the average eye, he appears to be a woman now because of this.
Would this intersex person be considered “transmisogyny affected?” He was assigned male at birth, and now appears to be a woman, much like many transfems. However, if many saw how he looks now, stating that he is a male, they would probably clock him as transmasc. He was raised as a boy until puberty, and then faced astrozcization from his peers when he began a puberty that feminized him. What he was facing was a form of intersexism where transmisogyny was playing a huge part. Does his childhood matter? Can one become TME over time, when they were TMA as a child? Again, he lies in a gray area, where the answer is not quite so simple.
What about the “opposite”, per se — an intersex woman who had a masculinizing puberty? She has aromatase deficiency, which means that many ‘male’ hormones (which would usually be converted to ‘female’ hormones) would remain unconverted. She identifies as a woman, and was identified as a female at birth and was raised, until puberty, as a female. But now, she would be clocked as a trans woman upon looking at her. What does that make her? Is it different from the previous example? How and why? This intersex person also lies in a gray area. How she should be described with these terms is not clear.
And keep in mind, these are all relatively simple examples. All of the examples I listed self-identify as cisgender. But there are intersex people who are trans in any direction you can imagine.
If that last example identified as a trans woman, because she is now clocked as one, would you be able to say she’s wrong for that? What about if she identified as transmasculine, because of her experience with puberty? What if she’s multigender, bigender or genderfluid, and says she’s both transmasc and transfem because of her complicated experiences? Would that make her a TMA transmasculine person? But I thought that transmascs were all TME? That’s how it’s so often framed, anyway.
The reason why these questions are so difficult to answer is because these terms were not made with intersex people in mind. Very real intersex transfems were pushed to the wayside in favor of centering the perisex view of transgenderism. Intersex people are nothing but an inconvenient little afterthought, annoying perisex people with their demand for “inclusion” and “consideration”. (As per usual.)
You cannot simply make a new gender binary and say, “No, really, this time everyone fits into these two categories! Forcing people to confine themselves to these two rigid labels which are shown as opposites, and as never interacting, will definitely include everyone this time!!” No matter what the contents of the new binary is, it’s not going to work, because sex and gender alike are too complicated for that. There will always be people in the gray area.
This isn’t even getting into the fact that these terms, for all intents and purposes, seem to have been popularized by and associated with the Baeddelism movement around 2017, which was essentially “Radical Feminism 2: We’re Trans Women, So It’s Fine!” This movement is known for chronic villainization of trans men and non-binary people who aren’t transfem. (They act like this with cis people too, but noticeably less so than they do with non-transfem trans people. How curious.) Think along the lines of how regular radfems treat all men (and who they deem to be men) as inherently morally disgusting scum who deserve to be attacked.
Methinks that maybe these terms aren’t the neutral, fact-based descriptors of oppression that many people nowadays tout them to be, considering that.
So, yeah. “Transmisogyny exempt” and “transmisogyny affected” as terms: not even once. Listen to intersex people, stop trying to make sex and gender into binaries, and for the love of God, stop drinking the queer seperationist koolaid!

I grew up in B.C. and I've been to Vancouver a few times. I have old friends who live there. So I, as a white person, only have one gripe: I'm upset that the NIMBY racist fucks making colonialist demands that the First Nations peoples build log houses from the 1600's and afford them their colonialist privilege to dictate a cultures advancement they're not a part of aren't crying louder. I need the salt the First Nations peoples of Canada telling them to get fucked and stay fucked generates.
The individual culture of each indigenous nation isn't some white persons aesthetic to approve of. "Sky scrapers aren't indigenous culture!" Go fuck yourself. They decide their culture, not you. Them. If they want to build sky scrapers and make homes? Guess what! Fuck you! They can make fucking sky-scrapers and homes! They want to block access to a lake on their land for any reason including "we just want to"? Deal with it. You're a guest, not the rightful owner. Show some respect, humble yourself, and accept it.
The indigenous nations of Canada and of North America are just that: nations. Unique culture, unique people, all deserving autonomy and self determination of and over their lands and lives. Not silent erasure. Not dictation over what they can and can't do.
this is so funny
"but uh when we advocated for indigenous sovereignty we thought you guys were just going to make a big park or something"
"fuck you. ultradense housing that bypasses your stupid zoning rules"
