This was a super fun piece to work on and the amazing partner I had was @lwh-writing who wrote an amazing fic Circles of Trust and Semi-Haunted Carousels.

The blobs among us

Blobs are running around in Amity Park. The portal brought more problems than he realized. Even worse these blobs were appearing everywhere all over the world. The GIW has created a set of laws to "protect" the blobs. Danny and the trio aren't falling for that. They know there using them for their own game. They had to be up to something. When all their attempts to expose the truth fail, they take drastic measures.

Meanwhile, Tim and his team aren't buying these "acts"

“Maybe, just maybe we shouldn’t raid this base”

“We have to hit this one, we have too much info on it not to. Tonight is the night. Less staff on duty and who knows how long the bug is going to last unfound” Danny pointed at the laptop Tucker had opened at the security feed on the screen.

“Plus, the Wayne charity Gala is happening tonight. Anyone who is anyone is going there, and more importantly Danny’s godfather. He will cause a scene if necessary.”

“The last place I want to be is anywhere near Gotham, not given the whole supposed to be investigating a totally real not fake case on the other side of the country. This base based on all the intel has the paper files we need.” Tim sounded annoyed by the fact “In theory, we should be able to find out what is happening with it.”

“We have photos and stuff I still say we just post it out for all to see. Someone’s bound to notice” Danny supplied “I’m just saying. The league is not going to help. Your crew has too much faith in them. Show them all the evidence you want. They’ll just ignore it.”

“We just need one breakthrough. Any exposure would compromise our secrecy. All it will do is draw attention from the league to us.”

“Then you guys can stay out of it. We three are fine with it. We already are in the center. Let the public know. Better than letting the government get more control.”

Sam gave a pointed look at Danny “The blog we had remember got wiped. Showing evidence isn’t enough, they’ll claim it's fake. What we need is proof and live proof.”

Tucker cut in “What we need is a livestream, that’d be hard to fake.”

As far as Danny was concerned that sounded like a great plan. Sam had even seemed to be contemplating it. This whole villainy thing was getting obnoxious.

“NO, what we need is a plan and to Just stick to the plan. Do not start a live stream”

“What plan” Sam cut in

Tim was more than happy to go in-depth on the game plan. Five on the inside two on perimeter duty. They weren’t quite in Gotham thankfully, just close enough where it could draw attention. Stealth was a necessity. He still wasn’t too convinced about that.

Danny and the others still weren’t convinced of the whole plan idea.

It was far too difficult to have a secret meeting when there were trained people around. He thought it was difficult to sneak around when his parents were around. He was positive what they were doing wasn’t hidden at all. Nobody had bothered to stop them. A livestream was the best bet. Tucker had even managed to snag some tech from the zone last time he was there Which was to make it untraceable and add a flare. All he needed to do was start the stream. Which can’t be that hard. It was just loading or something.

"Dude come on, quit stalling. We've been waiting forever for this livestream to go live; we need it online quickly and without notice". Tucker sighed “I should have just handled both parts apparently. Hitting a button is oh so hard”

Danny scowled, "I'm telling you, it's up! Just give it a sec”

Sam leaned against the wall and crossed arms, rolling her eyes. "Well, I'm not holding my breath. Knowing you we'll be waiting forever.”

Tucker chuckled, his fingers dancing over his PDA. "Seconded. Remember when he tried to fix the thermos and ended up setting it on fire, again?"

Danny glared up at the two. " That was a minor mishap, a little fire doesn’t hurt anyone”

Tucker grabbed the device rigged to stream and followed them. If everything went right, they’d have a worldwide audience. Tucker owed Technus now. Which was a future trio problem. Not a now problem.

“Dude, you have to hit the start button” Sam cackled as Tucker started the stream. In the distance, they could see the green glow. Time to focus on the building ahead of them. “We have a party to get to”

Danny took that as his first opening. "Cause we're about to crash the ultimate government party! You know, the one they conveniently forgot to send us invites to? And hey, while we're at it, let's add a little flair to the occasion. Keep your eyes peeled for the pin drop, 'cause that's when the real fun begins.”

Phantom was going to be front and center for this livestream. Better him than the others. Figures a member of the species they were tearing apart would be a bit more dramatic and more serious than if Pharaoh or Hemlock took the lead “Did I mention the fireworks? 'Cause we're about to light up the night sky with a bang! So grab your snacks and strap in, 'cause we're about to blow this conspiracy wide open!" Danny sent a blast into the wall causing a bright green explosion.

“I said no live streams, did you not get that” Red Robin spoke from the coms and a voice modifier on.

Danny chose to ignore him and continue walking through the now-open wall. It made a great door if you were to ask him. “The public deserves the truth” while broadcasting a blast knocking out the agents heading towards them.

Another blast led deeper into the facility. Revealing the room line with cages, glowing green. Some blobs half melted in the cages, ectoplasm dripping from them into containers below the cages. The containers full of the ectoplasm that was meant to be protected and freed back to where it belonged.

"These cells contain the blobs" He explained, "The government has been lying to you. They don’t aid them naturally dissipating; they force them to ectoplasm. They feel the whole thing, “standing beside a row of sealed jars containing a swirling mass of green blobs, their frantic movements betraying their desperation to escape. "They're being harvested, drained of their life to help the government's research for power."

In the background were government agents dressed in obnoxiously bright white suits, their unconscious “Aren’t they so happy we crashed right in, greeting us” Danny spoke to the camera focusing on the agents’ gathering weapons. One’s blasting the same green. “Don’t you feel so protected? Fun fact for my viewers. Those supposed blobs, that your government has claimed need protected… well. Given the chance they grow. Not like you. BUT.” Danny made sure to flash his pointed teeth at the camera “Things like me. They aren’t meant to stay on this side of the veil.

Phantom led his audience deeper into a high-tech laboratory, Pharaoh dismantled weapons revealing a cluster of green blobs partially melted back into goo.

"These creatures deserve freedom,” Phantom spoke to the camera Phantom couldn’t help but fly through the halls. Pointing out true process. What was happening to the entities in “protection”? That the blobs wouldn’t cause harm or issues.

Phantom continued down the hall.

The air grew heavy with tension as he approached a reinforced cell, one labeled for decontamination.

He knew what that meant.

What could be happening?

Who did they have?

Was it someone minor? Someone with barely any lingering ectoplasm.

Who.

He needed to get in that room.

But he didn’t want to.

But he had to.

The world was silent as he approached the door.

He paid no attention to the chat.

Nor the voices asking for his status.

Not the voices about how their location was out.

He froze when he peered into the batter window on the cold metal door.

He through the camera to the ground. Finally responding in the coms “cut the stream”

Ellie was bound to a surgical bed Cuffs blinking red, leaving her powerless and vulnerable. All while hooked to IVs and machinery. Ones that would be removing ectoplasm from her system. What she was very much made of.

It seemed more streamlined.

Danny was quick to try and open the door.

Ellie was fighting against her binds, her muffled cries of frustration echoing through the cell. But as he looked into her eyes, he saw only fear and confusion.

"Phantom, what's going on?" tucker demanded.

“They have Ellie”

Danny ends up flying through a portal. Which whoops. Maybe he should have been paying attention to where he was flying. Oh well.

Bad news: he fell through a portal in front of a group of cosplayers. Who are apparently vigilantes demanding why he was in Gotham.

Yea. He dipped then and there. He really needed to figure when and where he was.

Good news: It’s the same day albeit that night. Which great.

Worse news: Amity park apparently doesn’t exist.

There is no fentons anywhere online. Vlad still exists. Which gross. Still a billionaire with shady practices just only in Wisconsin. At least this one isn’t into politics. Maybe he’ll get lucky and the guy has a portal to the ghost zone.

Now he just needs to get out of Gotham without drawing anymore attention to himself.

Should be easy enough.

Ma and pa are Jack cousins. With jazz out of town for a summer seminar or something and the two planning to go to a ghost convention. Jack and Maddie decide to ship Danny over to meet them and be baby sat.

Danny. He for one is not a baby. Secondly the portal is actually going to be shut. So he’s not happy but will put up with it for two weeks.

Clark is all grown up, Conner is living with ma and pa.

Danny. Well he forgets to breathe a lot. Even when he does it’s not enough for a human. So Conner. He is concerned.

Then one day he brings over a friend. Definitely not one to check out the situation.

Neither Ellie or Danny were expecting to see one another.

Was Danny suprissed to see Ellie outside of his dorm three hours after the incident. Not particularly. He had put her on mute the third time she called. He had class but that hadn’t deterred her.

Danny: i have another class in an hour. Im eating then heading to class. Jazz has already lectured me about my eating habits. Not making that worse.

Ellie just stared at him crossing her arms.

Ellie:what was that!

Danny shrugs as he talks he knows her well enough to know she’s talking about his lackluster performance.

Danny: lack of use probably. The first year i had them nearly died again from lack of use. Frostbite then made sure i knew how to handle my core.

Ellie: that makes it worse! You need to train again.

Danny: nope no. I refuse. I am maintaining my 4.0. I’m doing tutoring and I’m working part time at a coffee shop. I’m way too close to getting my degree and getting one step closer to becoming an astronaut. I’m not risking that or my scholarship!

Danny has long since solved the GIW and the meta protection acts does now apply to ghost.

They are now not his problem.

The portal is shutdown. He is a legal adult. No more amity for him. The minute he could he was out in an out of state college. No ghost fights meant he was doing great in college! He may yet be an astronaut after all.

While Danny hung up his hero hat Ellie had not.

It was great. Last he heard she was in some hero team. Something about titans? maybe? She respected how he wanted no involvement.

That was until she was in trouble. He had to act.

But listen. How was he supposed to know not using his powers would cause lack of control. So he might of froze the threat and maybe some league members.

But. It was fine.

His sister and her friends were bruised and definitely had some broken bones maybe some concussions but nothing major. And he didn’t freeze a single one of them So really he’s content.

The whole frozen hero popsicles….. Well. It would be fine. They’d melt on their own as long as his didn’t keep them frozen. Probably.

He just waved at Ellie took a look around. Went through the portal he made back to his dorm and transformed into a human. He had a class in 20 minutes to get to.

Danny is sure nothing will come of the little stunt.

When Danny time travels to fix the future and stop Dan. So does the flash. The justice league had pieced together what happened to cause the it. A vigilante called red huntress had been very helpful in that regard.

So when the explosion still occurs Danny flees. When flash shows up to try and stop the cause of the apocalypse. A boy being adopted by his god father somehow led to it.

Danny was no where to find.

Just like the flash Danny will not let that future come to be. The flash knows something is wrong when Danny wasn’t brought to Wisconsin by his godfather.

Danny had though long and hard about this. He was ready to tell his parents the truth. Danny needed help. He couldn’t just let Ellie fade. They were there only chance.

Ellie had destabilized again. She needed help. Asking vlad meant he’d have to agree to disown his dad. Danny loved his parents and would never be Vlads son. He had no options.

So he told them everything. About the fruitloop, the portal, the ghosts, and Ellie. They accepted him and immediately began to work out how to stabilize Ellie. They’d process it all later.

They knew they couldn’t take vlad down. He was mayor, he could bribe any citizen of Amity. So jack and Maddie report vlad as plasmius to the justice league hotline. Mentioning the cloning, the overshadowing of the town to become mayor, and about the hidden cameras sprinkled around town.

That’s all they could do while they stabilized their soon to be daughter.

Danny was at least not being watched by a assassin. Which was good. But a bat? He wasn’t too sure that was any better. Sure he wasn’t trying to actively kill him.

But. The guy was a supposed crime lord if tuckers research was correct. Or at least an ex one? He was kinda confused on the whole thing. Tucker did say he had been seen working with the normal bats. Who he really wanted to avoid.

Sure he wasn’t an ecto-entity so the government couldn’t legally experiment on him. But he was aiding the ghosts. Which was a crime. So he really didn’t want to draw any attention to himself.

He didn’t Even have access to his tech. So he couldn’t out run a bat. Not when it was their home turf. He’s parents said he wouldn’t need it in Gotham. No he would be perfectly safe. Nothing was going to happen. Him having it would also be a breach of contract apparently.

The ones the GIW had just renewed prior to booting him out of Amity. Definitely not intentional to ensure he couldn’t protect himself. Which in fact made him more vulnerable. No weapons not protective suit.

He was only human.

This assassination attempt would have had his hide if he wasn’t so used to ghost attacking him. Before the peeler, which thankfully he got to sam in time he was just using a mask and a poorly made disguise. Then the fact the moment he realized the ghost would be a problem. He asked his mom to tech him how to defend himself and fight. She loved the time they had spent together.

So he may be human but he’s been facing the undead and unkillable for a year at this point. And ugh. Vlad. The minute he found out he was phantom he claimed he was just like his mother. The only good thing about the fruitloop was he now had so much experience finding hidden cameras and bug. Guns and knives. He just had to be smart about.

Danny knew he couldn’t just bolt. It wouldn’t work. He still considered it as an option. He could always activate his distress signal on the PDA ticket snuck him. Seeing as his parents took his phone away and gave them one that only connected to them. He was a bad influence according to them.

Red huntress wouldn’t make it here quick enough and would just out her as giving two cents about a ghost ally. They were very careful to ensure she only looked like a ghost hunter. Gave her more freedom to help ghosts secretly.

Well. He’d do what he does best. Improvise. Play it cool calm and collected.

Danny: do you agree with the governments plan to eradicate and kill an entire species from a different dimension? Your answer very much matters. As i for one don’t.

Danny: the government is very much trying to kill me at the moment. Like sure i broke into a government facility. It wasn’t the first time. I couldn’t just leave ember and boxy strapped to medical tables. I can honestly say it wasn’t me who broke in the four times after.

Danny: but seriously they were going to kill ember and boxy. Like sure ember can mind control ppl by singing. And boxy can control boxes. But that doesn’t mean they deserve to be experimented on.

Danny: and like sure the dimension kidnapped my whole town for two days. But what do you expect when someone steal ancient artifacts from a different dimension. We opened the portal into their dimension not the other way. So really. It’s not their fault they suddenly have a new playground. That’s just how they work. Have obsessions and what not to fulfill.

Danny: and i may of broken then laws. But the anti ecto acts make killing an entire species okay. So if that makes me a criminal so be it.

Jason for his part. Had turned his comms on. And hadn’t managed to get a word in. Yea. This was a big problem.

Did Danny abuse the fact the GIW needed his parents tech. Yes of course. Danny not phantom seemed to be the trouble maker as of late. His parent threatened to withhold tech and blue prints from them if the GIW touched their kids.

Did he get caught breaking ember and boxy out of a government facility? yes. He expected the lecture he got.

The next jail break. It was not him. It was sam, Then the third. Also not him. That was Val… then it was Tucker. But not him.

The blame fell on him.

He did not expect to be shipped out of state. The GIW were happy to cover all costs. Even got him into a decent highschool. And had an apartment all arranged.

Gotham?

Not where he was expecting.

The assassination attempts. Also surprising.

Not so surprising. Tucker found out the GIW wanted to “silence” him. Offering a lot of money.

Of course his parents don’t listen. He is 15 perfectly fine to be all alone. Even if he is near some place with the nickname crime alley. Nope. He is just being dramatic. They tell him no one wants him dead.

Danny really shouldn’t have let his fight with skulker get out of hand. Sure they didn’t cause any destruction. But they left amity.

Which annoying. He’d have to find a way home.

Then. He just had to get launched at some dude in a red helmet from above the clouds. Sure he phased through the guy.

But… Danny, Danny was not okay.

He was now covered in rancid ectoplasm. He felt like he was going to puke. And skulker came flying down to attack him. But when he got close.

Skulker gagged. Then immediately turned around. Going off about he would not mount a diseased ridden hide. Telling Danny to get to frostbite before he is no longer fit to be hunted.

Jason was worried about the new activity. Heavy increase of hitman and assassins coming through crime alley.

His guess seeing as how none have left crime alley something big was being planned. Or they were being taken out of the competition.

He had finally tracked down where they had all been going. Some low income apartment right next to crime alley. Not the place he’d expect to see a gathering.

Not the weirdest he’s seen.

Now. This was just a reconnaissance. He needed to know what he was getting into and what was happening.

Looks like he may be getting oracle involved. It what the kid was mumbling then this was big. The kid was absolutely run down and looked annoyed. Which fair. The kid seemed to have good aim.

For now he’d need to approach the kid get him into a safe house and confirm what he was hearing.

Then the kid looked in his direction and let out an annoyed breath.

Danny: if this is another assassin attempt. I will not hesitate to shoot. So could you not?

He was going to pull a Bruce wasn’t he.

After the whole pariah thing and him accidentally become ghost king. Danny is annoyed. Then sam and tucker accidentally become royal advisors.

Shouldn’t have touched the book apparently.

Jazz touched the crown it recognized her as Danny’s family and poof. Another royal member. Same with Danielle.

He as phantom had to stop kwan and dash from accepting training from fright knight. He really didn’t want them to agree then be bound to serve the realm as knights.

But they didn’t listen. So yay. New knights.

Danny doesn’t need help with the ghost. No he needs help to shut the portal down because people are accidentally getting roped into the royal court and royal family in the realms. Can the league please turned the portals off.

So he decides if the league won’t respond to calls, texts and emails. He’ll confront them. He portals in a the middle of a meeting crown and all.

Danny: i get you all seem to think the whole amity park situation is a prank. But can you not? Like I was human and now I’m king. With how things are going I’m concerned another teenager is going to accidentally become royalty for the infinite realms. So please deal with the government and mad scientist. Then get the portal shut down. Thanks.

Just a fun little thought. Danny has a black lantern ring following him. I mean he was? Is?dead. Even if he has already essentially re animated himself in a sense.

Ellie has the white ring following her around for fun. Plus that feels fitting with how the ectoplasm brought her to life. She skipped the whole dying part.

Neither of them have any plans to touch them. Who knows what it will do to them. A sword from the realm can send people to there worst nightmares with a single touch. Nope. No touching random glowing objects ever again.

I can imagine them touching something and it going wrong at least once. Knowing Danny and Ellie. Probably more like at least 10 times before it sunk in. So they now know. Just don’t. No touching for them.

Danny and Damian are twins. Danny was killed by Damian obviously. The normal only one heir business.

When he was put into the pit. Either by a guilt ridden Damian or Talia late in the night. He vanished. Natural portal whipped him away. Right in the path of Jack and Maddie. They adopt the little 8 year old who has no memories of his past.

Normal stuff happens. Danny dies a second time becomes a halfa and befriends cujo.

Now cujo loves Danny and loves to visit him. Too bad cujo gets Damian confused with Danny. But hey. He had two people now. Double the pets.

One day Danny is playing with cujo and cujo unannounced decides his ppl need to meet.

Danny was clearly confused. First where is he? Cujo that was completely naughty behavior. Then there was a dude staring at him. A doppelgänger? Another clone? Like this dude looked nearly identical to him besides the eyes.

Now Damian. Damian recognizes Danny right away. Now he likely thinks this is a clone or something.

This is a very fun addition to this. It forms so many fun little things that could happen.

Danny clearly would do whatever he could to help save his friends. The wierd cult people need an ancient artifact. Sure! He can do it. Sneak into a weird cave!

I mean Danny’s sure it’s fine. Even if slowly they figure out how to negate his ghost powers so he can’t get in the cave. Portals still work!

I also see them definitely “helping”. I could imagine the LOA grabbing another amity Parker from the GIW. Likely a teen.

Amity is ride or die. So the LOA slowly gaining more liminal pawns. The teens ain’t trusting on the heros anymore. Nope. It was very clearly shown the justice league was working with the government. 100% totally undeniable proof.

Sure the weird cult is probably not that good. But amity’s stick together and will work with them as long as needed.

The one where Danny is perfect balance. He only has ecto levels when transformed. And doesn’t have any human dna as phantom.

Useful for hiding.

Bad when the anti ecto acts pass and the Giw begin to collect any contaminated citizen. Bigger problem when Danny is the only amity Parker not contaminated.

The GIW had announced they will begin decontamination on the citizens. Danny was held for a while but never showed any signs of contamination.

This leading to Danny being placed in the custody of some unsuspecting outsider.

It’s definitely a coincidence that the new city Danny has been forcefully moved to suddenly has the appearance of phantom. The GIW most wanted.

Definitely not a cause for concern when phantom starts hunting down villians and heros alike trying to convince anyone the GIW is conducting experiments on the contaminated. Not trying to cleanse them like they claimed.

Danny never expected to see Tim drake aka Red Robin ever again. Especially not when he just escaped the Giw covered in wounds and a Y he’d never like to see again.

Tim never thought he’d see Danny again, according to Danny only one of him could ever exist. The same one they were both certain was from a different dimension. They had searched up the justice league and Bruce Wayne from Danny’s bedroom. A dimension Danny couldn’t leave without risk of the GIW causing a war in the realm.

He had only ever met Danny after one of his opponents managed to shove him through a natural portal. He of course managed to modify his weapons to work in the infinite realms. Mortal safe food not to easy to find. It was mere chance he had run into phantom. From there he ended up waiting in Danny’s supposed different dimension until frostbite was free to let them use the infinite map to get him back home.

He really needed to look into the GIW of that was the case. First he had to deal with getting Danny medical attention.
